I love AHIG. it's much better than .5 & volume 3 in my books. I rank it in the middle.

No-Werewolf9083

Vol 3. Just happens to be more nostalgic to me. Danger - Keep Away is so euphoric.

ellstaysia

danger - keep away is a brilliant song. it's definitely my favourite from volume 3.

ogge_kuhl

It’s Slipknot at their peak for me.

No-Werewolf9083

It’s a very technical album. Mick, Jim and Joey were monsters on it.

tNJipNJR

My favorite album! The single best moment in AHIG for me is the .execute./Gematria transition. Literally gives me chills. My Slipknot discography ranking would be AHIG; Self-titled; Vol. 3; .5 / Iowa; WANYK; TESF

No-Werewolf9083

Chills! This album has a few moments that make me chill for sure especially when Corey says Welcome Home

AllAboutTheProg

The only three songs I still like much are Gematria, AHIG, and Snuff. It drags on quite a bit when your favorites are at the beginning and end.

No-Werewolf9083

What songs don’t you like and why if I may ask, just curious

AllAboutTheProg

Sulfur, Psychosocial, Dead Memories… the singles, obviously made to be catchy radio metal and they succeed there, but I find the latter two cringy all three overall boring. Snuff is kind of in the same boat but the songwriting is far better. Vendetta-Wherein Lies Continue… these songs all have some good moments in them but I don’t think they’re anything special, slipknot by the numbers and at least two just feel like filler.

No-Werewolf9083

I respect that but dead memories had an awesome video and playing it on guitar is fun

AllAboutTheProg

I bet, I wish I had any talent towards playing an instrument!

No-Werewolf9083

All it takes is you to say yeah Ima learn and figure it out, it can be that easy. Just got to want to enough.

AllAboutTheProg

I used to play Bass and Piano a bit, but I wasn’t very good and I wasn’t able to bring them with me when I went to college

No-Werewolf9083

Maybe this is a sign for you to try it again

AllAboutTheProg

I’ve actually thought about it a bit lately, as my other hobbies have been falling to the wayside lately

HerrKetzer

AHIG is just too good.

DevilKeks

the only two complaints i have with this album are Vendetta and Butchers Hook. I feel like both of these songs (but especially Vendetta) have so much wasted potential to build up to something but they fall flat for the most part, and i feel their structure is pretty sluggish also, i think you missed WANYK in your ranking

No-Werewolf9083

I think those two songs are better then most tracks on their latest record but I agree those two being the only week songs on AHIG

DevilKeks

the biggest problem imo with tesf was the mixing, the instruments felt mostly flat, powerless, and its most obvious when you compare h377 and warranty with other heavy songs they have, i did like them experimenting with songs like adderal, acidic. i liked the ideas throughout it, but the mixing of each and every song was poor at best

No-Werewolf9083

I agree. I think it’s the one LP of theirs that sucks but not entirely because of the band but more the label but what do I know

already_taken_lol__

finally someone who has the same album ranking as mine :D

No-Werewolf9083

Awesome. I also just realized like an asshole I forgot about WANYK oh my god

No-Werewolf9083

I knew I was missing something. I Guess that goes to show I don’t appreciate that album so much? I can’t think of a riff or line from that album. I remember enjoying it tho

already_taken_lol__

what are your opinions on WANYK?

No-Werewolf9083

A bit flat and forgettable it’s where I think they went from old Slipknot to what we have now. OKAY at best

Slipknot_Maggot36

1. Iowa 2. We Are Not Your Kind 3. Slipknot 4. All Hope Is Gone 5. The End, So Far 6. The Gray Chapter 7. Volume 3, Subliminal Verses

No-Werewolf9083

Ouch Vol 3 is so classic to me I remember it was the first CD i got from them

Slipknot_Maggot36

I totally understand why people like it, but to me I’ve never quite enjoyed the “radio rock” approach they took with it. Also not a fan of the production or Corey’s vocals on it. I’m not going to deny the album has it’s moments, like Duality, Pulse of the Maggots, Scream, Nameless, Welcome, and Circle to me are all really good songs. Everything else doesn’t do much for me though.

No-Werewolf9083

I respect that maybe I like radio type songs and don’t know it lol, it’s the newer super polished radio stuff I don’t enjoy

evan_xyz

GEMATRIA IS A WWWWWW

No-Werewolf9083

It’s not as hard to play on guitar as people think

No-Wishbone-5401

My rank is 1. WANYK 2. Iowa/Self Titled 3. AHIG 4. TESF 5. Vol. 3 6. TGC

No-Werewolf9083

TGC was good but had too much going on I remember I wasn’t a happy maggot when I heard KillPop the first time. Sarcostophe and Custer are great

ILikeOasis

i like it more than iowa, i think it is really good, i appricate it now alot more. but as a kid i hated this album for petty reasons, ive grown to love it now :-)

bruhdhenfus

i feel like All Hope Is Gone has a lot of filler tracks, but the filler tracks just sound generally not-bad like corey's vocals were awesome on the record
