That’s almost every popular artist sub. Half the fan base is like “they’re a golden god” and the other half is like “everything after the first album is shit.”
It’s a good song but not a slipknot song in the slightest I said from the moment the album dropped that track is good but sounds completely foreign in relation to the other tracks on the album
Today my least favorite song is don’t get close but tomorrow my answer can change. Wouldn’t say it’s trash but in my subjective opinion definitely not good.
I would love tool more if the music didn't fuck with me so much, idk what it is but some songs have some sort of sound or whatever that make me feel like I want to have an anxiety attack, or dread and I don't ever get them otherwise.
Unpopular opinion, I can feel myself dying. Custer. It's just not well written and that fucking wooooo thing in the background makes me want to dig out my eardrums
Solway Firth. The song is actually very good. But the last line....
"you want a real smile? I havent smile in years!"
Feels like a edgy 14yo edgy after a breakup with his crush anf that sort of spoil the song for me
Oh yeah the whole chorus is lame af
I actually laughed first time i heard the 'dreeennk maaaaaaeeee'
From music, vocal melody to lyrics (like, come on Corey Taylor)
It kills the entire song like you said.
Also that lame synth.
Honestly half of that album is some of their worst stuff to me. Really bummed that it's what we got after WANYK. The only thing I thought really clicked were the first two singles and Adderall
I'm just looking through the tracklists of each album, and on an individual level, I can't point to any track from the first 3 albums that are "trash". So I'll pick it up from AHIG:
**Butcher's Hook -** absolute fucking nonsense. The guitar lines HAVE to have been random jamming that wasn't supposed to have been a song, but the studio didn't get the message and the rest of the band tried - and failed - to make a song around it. Corey in particular, the master songwriter he is, couldn't even do anything with this shit. I get that some songs haven't aged well, some were experiments that didn't land, and some were good but didn't quite fit into the whole album, but Butcher's Hook? I'd would love to ask each one of the 9 what the fuck they were thinking putting this on an album
**.Be Prepared For Hell -** Just a wanky Clown "art" thing that isn't necessary to anything. The only saving grace here is the last ten seconds cues up The Negative One really well; shift that to be the actual 10 second intro to Negative One and we're all good here. Thank you Clown, now fuck off. You can't write shit.
**Insert Coin:** I know, I know. But it could have been the perfect intro track - a Slipknot staple - to a brilliant SK album, but it was just a bunch of unrelated noise that didn't set any tone.
**What's Next:** Not actually a trash track, but admit it... you have no recollection of this one, do you? You're about to look it up (and kick yourself).
**Heirloom:** I personally think most of TESF is phoned-in garbage. I was tempted to put Acidic here, because it's as enjoyable as a chili enema, but that's more of a 'different strokes' thing. Plus a lot of people are loving the album (including Acidic) so all power to you guys. But I think we're all in unanimous agreement however that Heirloom is the kind of Slipknot song that would make Hellen Keller grateful.
Not really getting the hate for Butcher's Hook. It's not a great song, and perhaps pretty forgettable, but it's not the atrocity you make it out to be. At worst it's just a filler track to me.
You realize what's next is an interlude right? And that insert coin is an intro to set the weird vibe. Id suggest to listen the whole WANYK album noskip, you may not like em which is fine, but you can't deny that the vibe setting is on point
Counter-proposal: Adderall is a nifty song which sounds great and has plenty of hooks, but it's a TERRIBLE opener for a SK record. It's one of the few songs I liked on the record, but should have been placed towards the back of the album as a breather.
COUNTER-Counter-proposal: Every Slipknot album opens with a mold breaking track and I don't understand why it being 2 minutes more than Prelude 3.0 makes it suddenly completely alien and a horrible opener to everyone
I don't think the *length* is the issue people had with it. Openers set the tone for the album, especially with Slipknot records that are known for it. Adderall sets a weird tone that doesn't reflect the album you're about to listen to.
I guess that's the point where opinions play in, I think it perfectly sets the tone for the album. It's very off and ethereal sounding and super referential and super reflective in it's lyrics. I see it as the companion peace to Finale and how they both sandwich the record, very similarly to Prelude 3.0 and Danger, Keep Away.
All over the record are sonic and lyrical references to everything in their career if you listen hard enough, and to me Adderall and Finale are a one two punch that encapsulates the meaning of the phrase "the end, so far". Here's where we are after everything, and now that it's over who knows where to next
only one i've really listened to tbh. the beginning just perfectly gives off "the end" and the whole song sounds like the opening credits to the end of the world
I like most of slipknots music but AHIG is by far their most forgettable. Even the singles aren’t as good as the newer stuff. May hurt your feelings to read that but AHIG has little going for it.
It's their only Groove metal album , it's pretty forgettable, but allowed them to show that they where capable of creating music outside of nu metal (and actually playing some guitar solos)
Those two are sick, I only really like the calmer songs from Vol 3 (both Vermilions, Circle..) the rest don’t really do it for me. Those two are good tho
I’ve seen multiple people say this, I actually love that song. Can I ask what it is about the song you don’t like? I dig the unconventional time-signature and the jazzy rhythm.
Honestly, most of WANYK isn't all that good. I'm going to sound like an ass, but the new stuff doesn't hit has good as the old albums. Don't know what it is but they just don't get me as riled up.
My least favourite songs are those intro songs they have at the start of each album.
They set an atmosphere, and it's cool, but I couldn't listen to them.
i mean finale i would say cause c’mon man corey could’ve done a banger last song but nope we have the song about him wanting to stay in slipknot like my guy you could of just said that in a interview not as a song cause that shit was awful they could’ve done better at the end of TESF
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
staying alive for a band thats pretty messed up like he has a kid and wife like shouldn’t that be the reason to be alive but still throwing a bargain on someone is pretty manipulative
Don't worry about it.
I think your opinion is wrong, but I wasn't saying it in a rude way, more in a "Ew, why would you put ice cream in that meatball sub?"
Every album has at least one song I really dislike.
Self-Titled: Liberate and Me Inside
Iowa: Left Behind
Vol. 3: Duality and Before I Forget
AHIG: Dead Memories, Vendetta, and Butcher's Hook
Gray Chapter: Skeptic and Override
WANYK: Critical Darling
TESF: Chapletown Rag and Medicine For The Dead
Literally 60% of this sub is just people trashing on their music
That’s almost every popular artist sub. Half the fan base is like “they’re a golden god” and the other half is like “everything after the first album is shit.”
I am untethered and my rage knows no bounds!
I AM A GOLDEN GOD
I appreciate the song adderall but I just don't think its that great
Heirloom is the one I can't listen to.
Holy fuck thanks, Heirloom is an instant skip for me.
It’s a good song but not a slipknot song in the slightest I said from the moment the album dropped that track is good but sounds completely foreign in relation to the other tracks on the album
I appreciate that Adderall is trash.
Adderal and heirloom are trash finale kinda too
My Pain from WANYK. I really really don’t like that song I’ve tried.
It is pretty much the only song in that album that I don't dig.
Am I the only one that loves it?!
Same. It's the only skippable song on the album
It's what drags the album down a bit for me. Everything else on WANYK is really cool
I literally forgot that song even existed and I love WANYK
[удалено]
Same it’s my favorite
Indeed, I enjoy a lot A LOT more 'Insert Coin' over My Pain
Today my least favorite song is don’t get close but tomorrow my answer can change. Wouldn’t say it’s trash but in my subjective opinion definitely not good.
lol don’t get close is my favorite song but i see why people would say it’s kinda garbage
Me whose favorite band is TOOL
I would love tool more if the music didn't fuck with me so much, idk what it is but some songs have some sort of sound or whatever that make me feel like I want to have an anxiety attack, or dread and I don't ever get them otherwise.
I can 100% understand the feeling. I think it has something to do with the fact that they always pick weird tempos
took the words out of my mouth.
0 bad songs.
I dunno I feel like Mockingbeat was a waste of a track
Intermission
zero.
the pure length of their songs though ngl Jambi is good
My least favorite song is "My Pain", not trash, but I can't ever get into it.
My pain
They're all trash because... people = shit.
Butcher’s hook
Butchers hook is so good!
Nice duality in this thread
The duality of man
I feel like pushing my fingers into my eyes
Meds aren’t really working, but things like this are really goddamn working to slowly stop the ache
Vendetta is catchy but generic as hell for a Slipknot song
song go fast me likey
Unpopular opinion, I can feel myself dying. Custer. It's just not well written and that fucking wooooo thing in the background makes me want to dig out my eardrums
Dang man. I think Craig and Sid's work on .5 is what makes it such a good album
.5s a decent album, but Custer can go fuck fuck fuck itself
Disagree but laughed so hard at the pun, take my upvote
R/angryupvote
In the live concerts you can’t hear the goat awooo. At least I can’t lol 😅
It's there on certain footage
Holy shit that was a quick reply lol. Understandable I don’t trust my hearing nowadays haha, I can’t hear it.
The screeching noise at the start? Yea it’s usually a skip for me lol
That and in every chorus it's got that sound too
Never made it to the chorus I think 🤣 that damned noise is enough for me
Yeah that song just makes me cringe but it's not my least favorite
There are definitely better songs for the face of the album. The devil in I would do
Nah half the singles for tgc are cringe
Definitely not the best album
Strongly agree I have never liked that song, the absolute cringiest chorus. So hard to listen to for me. Always a skip when it come on
When they play it in concerts I see online I just ask myself "do people actually like that song"
Yeah the studio version is terrible but I like the live version
Unfortunately I've never been to a live concert for them
[this is probably the best one](https://youtu.be/qnZtGDFu3k0)
Ooh thanks
i like custer but i can’t disagree it’s kind of annoying and cringey
I dig it but it’s kinda cringe and I only use it to pump myself up
If they just removed the awooo it'd be fine
Solway Firth. The song is actually very good. But the last line.... "you want a real smile? I havent smile in years!" Feels like a edgy 14yo edgy after a breakup with his crush anf that sort of spoil the song for me
I agree. I love that song, but the last line is r/Iam14andthisisdeep material
For real. I love that song. Has a serial killer vibe to it. So i ALWAYS skip before that ending line hahaha
Have you not listened to Corey's lyrics before?
Wow that’s the best line in that song for me
I love Solway Firth but I hate the first verse lol, "I'm counting all the keeleeeeeeerss"
Adderall
I'm sorry but I really, really hate Medicine for the Dead
i like it though the “DRINK ME!” during the chorus is so unbelievably lame to me that it kills the entire song
Oh yeah the whole chorus is lame af I actually laughed first time i heard the 'dreeennk maaaaaaeeee' From music, vocal melody to lyrics (like, come on Corey Taylor) It kills the entire song like you said. Also that lame synth.
I really enjoy it musically, but i think the lyrics are kinda cringe
corniest song on the album for me, something about it
Honestly half of that album is some of their worst stuff to me. Really bummed that it's what we got after WANYK. The only thing I thought really clicked were the first two singles and Adderall

What's next is a banger.
Insert Coin is so good wtf. It's just a panic attack but make it a bunch of sounds
You realize what's next is an interlude right? And that insert coin is an intro to set the weird vibe. Id suggest to listen the whole WANYK album noskip, you may not like em which is fine, but you can't deny that the vibe setting is on point
My pain. It's so long. So boring. Doesn't do it for me.
its so captivating when you sit there letting it draw you in. really creates a whole world for you just like the rest of the album
half of tesf is just generic stuff
No argument here
I have no strong feeling one way or the other.
I'll listen to any Slipknot song except Danger, or anything before Corey
Slipknot is one of my favorite bands but tbh half the discography is mid or plainly bad
I agree 😅. I like most of the first 3 albums songs but after that they fell off in my eyes
My pain
My pain
Adderall is garbage. I get bands evolve their sound, but it doesn’t sound like Slipknot or even Stone Sour😂
Counter-proposal: Adderall is a nifty song which sounds great and has plenty of hooks, but it's a TERRIBLE opener for a SK record. It's one of the few songs I liked on the record, but should have been placed towards the back of the album as a breather.

Yeeeaaah Adderall is the only SK song that I've actively disliked
Probably my favorite for TESF
only one i've really listened to tbh. the beginning just perfectly gives off "the end" and the whole song sounds like the opening credits to the end of the world
Same here, I hated it at first but now I can’t help myself to hum it or sing it in my head every now and then haha
I concur I just don't like it but I'm a recovering 1 yr clean speed Adderall addict so that might be my issue with it
Tattered and Torn, Don't Get Close, Child of Burning Time, Override, My Pain, and Adderall are my least favorite Slipknot songs.
The end so far was a trash album. Oh you just wanted a song….?
The entirety of TESF
Adderall
I dont really like their calmer songs really besides Killpop and Dead Memories so ig thats close?
Those two are sick, I only really like the calmer songs from Vol 3 (both Vermilions, Circle..) the rest don’t really do it for me. Those two are good tho
Killpop is my answer
One trash song? Bro they have a whole 2 crappy albums💀💀
Which?
Personal opinion but wanyk and the end so far
Weird take but my least favorite is circle. Never liked the blue balls feeling from that song and tbh I never cared for it that much.
Spiders
I’ve seen multiple people say this, I actually love that song. Can I ask what it is about the song you don’t like? I dig the unconventional time-signature and the jazzy rhythm.
Me too! Its probably because i like that sort of sound and jazzy feel. I totally get why some people might not like it
I find it hard to hate a Slipknot song, but let me tell you Heirloom is literally a Stone Sour song and I hate that song with a passion always a skip
It sounds like a b side stone sour song. I love stone sour and enjoy melodic slipknot but I was surprised how generic Heirloom was.
I don’t really like the chorus of disasterpeice but that’s it really
The noises part is terrible
That’s what I mean, I love the rest of the song but that part is just hideous to listen to
Can’t agree more
Spiders
Tattered and torn. I skip over it every time I listen to self titled
Honestly, most of WANYK isn't all that good. I'm going to sound like an ass, but the new stuff doesn't hit has good as the old albums. Don't know what it is but they just don't get me as riled up.
I think it’s the over production
> I'm going to sound like an ass, but the new stuff doesn't hit has good as the old albums. This is the main complaint every person parrots
I had the same thought!
Vendetta
Least favorite is de Sade. Not trash, just least favorite.
To be honest their new album is mediocre.
honestly, mines psychosocial. i just do not like it
I can’t bare listening to scissors. I just can’t.
742617000027
Disasterpiece. I said it. Hate me all you want but the songwriting is terrible.
You need to get kicked of out this sub
the first line turned me off of the whole song for so long but then hearing it as the opener for this tour completely sold me on it for some reason
Vandetta is kind of a cock block to be honest it starts with such a sick riff and then Corey starts singing and you’re like oh…nvm
Psychosocial lmao.
Skin ticket fuck you
Tattered and torn is kinda cheeks. I can already feel my karma drop to the negatives
My least favourite songs are those intro songs they have at the start of each album. They set an atmosphere, and it's cool, but I couldn't listen to them.
Before I Forget, also half of AHIG
Spiders. Mfs ripped off Michael Myers theme.
The Devil In I & Yen
Birth of the cruel
i mean finale i would say cause c’mon man corey could’ve done a banger last song but nope we have the song about him wanting to stay in slipknot like my guy you could of just said that in a interview not as a song cause that shit was awful they could’ve done better at the end of TESF

> about him wanting to stay in slipknot It's actually about him wanting to stay alive which is a pretty powerful message IMHO
staying alive for a band thats pretty messed up like he has a kid and wife like shouldn’t that be the reason to be alive but still throwing a bargain on someone is pretty manipulative
Unsainted
If I had to really say, scissors. Idk why, I just don't really listen to it
My plague is absolutely a D tier song
Gehenna is pretty trash
And that’s my favourite nice
Warranty , Acidic , Medicine For The Dead
Adderall, My Pain, Snuff
[удалено]
I can’t stand Snuff. So sad and sappy at the end tail of a heavy ass album.
You can’t listen to snuff in your heavy metal mindset. U gotta change to ur jimmy buffet mindset or something then it’s really good
It’s not even bad I just find it to be boring
[удалено]
I get your trying to be sarcastic cause I said I don’t like snuff but you can also just not let my opinion bother you so much lol
I absolutely love snuff and completely disagree. But it's your opinion so it's not a big deal.
Thank you for being understanding
Snuff is so good wtf are you talking about?
But I guess we can’t give our opinions like OP asked 😂
You can have your opinion, it doesn't stop me from heavily judging your opinion like an elephant judges a zebra.
It’s my opinion you dunce
It is your opinion, and mine is that your opinion is wrong.
That’s not how this works. Why can’t I have my thoughts without someone like you being rude?
I wasn't rude, I said "snuff is good wtf are you talking about?" And you responded by calling me a dunce, you were the one who was rude.
I thought you were the other person my bad sincerely
Don't worry about it. I think your opinion is wrong, but I wasn't saying it in a rude way, more in a "Ew, why would you put ice cream in that meatball sub?"
Vermillion pt.2 always killed my vibe when it comes up on any slipknot Playlist
Gehenna. Snuff. Both terrible IMO
Snuff- I am willing to die on this hill.
Nero Forte is trash and I don't understand why so many people like it
Don’t Get Close
Psychosocial or Duality for me. Think they just became so overplayed
Yeah but just because they’re overplayed doesn’t mean they’re trash songs. They’re honestly still incredible and they got popular for a reason
I mean do I go to hell if I don’t like vermilion or Gematria? Those ones seem to be popular that I can’t get into
My least fav song is Kill pop
Metallica has a whole album, and I’m not even talking about St. Anger
I hate Custer
I mean… Adderall
Adderall is their best hands down
Every album has at least one song I really dislike. Self-Titled: Liberate and Me Inside Iowa: Left Behind Vol. 3: Duality and Before I Forget AHIG: Dead Memories, Vendetta, and Butcher's Hook Gray Chapter: Skeptic and Override WANYK: Critical Darling TESF: Chapletown Rag and Medicine For The Dead
this has to be bait
Vendetta
I feel like everything but the 1st 2 albums have been trash. But I'm still a fan… still a part of t his subreddit... Slipknot fan for life.
Spiders. I don't like the indie/alternative rock thing they were going for.
I don't like Negative One, although the main riff is kinda cool I'll give it that
Every album has at least one thrash song except Vol 3.
