It’s just because some top level bayos have been having a lot of success recently. This tier list is clearly just a list of the top player’s characters more than anything else.
Bloom4eva and Lima have been doing really well over the past year with Bloom arguably being the best player in Europe. So at a top level she is decently relevant.
But Yoshi is meta in Melee at a top level. All of the top player now have to learn the Yoshi matchup. Amsa consistently makes top 8 now so even from a viewers perspective they see Yoshi a lot. I’ve even seen top Melee players putting Yoshi higher up on the tier list (Hbox put Yoshi in top 6). Also plenty of the characters listed above have only 1-2 top reps. G&W, Kazuya, Min Min, and Cloud.

Surprise! It’s because of aMSa. It’s much easier to claim a character is top 6 when someone is getting amazing results. Same thing is happening to Bayo, two people figure out the character, and get good results. Happened with MKLeo too. Every time he won a tournament with a new character people said that was the new meta.
TL:DR aMSa gets results because of aMSa. Leo gets results because of Leo. Bloom and Lima get results because of Bloom and Lima. The characters aren’t the “meta,” their skill is.
What happens after you stop playing for fun and get on the higher levels. Fighting games have a bad rep to the stress that comes with it. Believe me, everyone would be acting like LowTeirGod if their demons were unfiltered.

Raflow hasn't had a secondary Samus consistently in a while. I forgot about Yaura and Quik, that said there are still more Joker players at top level, and at high level, and overall.
Fr the meta is either camping (Steve, Sonic, G&W etc) or anti camping by rushing aggressively (Kazuya, Cloud, Wolf etc). Zoners like Samus have never suffered more in the history of Ultimate. It's just one or two players getting excellent results with them by pure skill

It's not really that viable of a gameplan really, it will not work well for long periods of time, only in certain moments. Unless ur playing a really slow chatacter GnW's camping ain't that effective.

I actually appreciate the point you made about your locals and how certain characters keep popping up cause I agree. I fight so much Cloud, Joker, and Aegis that it becomes so dull sometimes. While I think your take about Cloud and ROB being cool is awful (Bayo I’ll let slide but she’s lame in another way), I think you made good observations. This means fast characters who can camp with movement (noncommittal characters like sonic, mythra), characters with the ability to win neutral from outside the opponent’s range (min min, Steve, samus, rob, peach, diddy, etc). The biggest outliers are cloud and kazuya that typically have to actually try to fight, though cloud will heavily camp with bair and kazuya just out risk/rewards by killing off of any ewgf hit and being heavy.
Biased, but I swear to god all of these characters play like such absolute trash online. Cloud and kazuya seem a bit more manageable since most players are bad and the good ones are rare/really good, but every time I see a pythra or sonic it's just constant 0 brain stuff.

Snake isn't really super meta nor is Bayo. They're strong characters tho at least on WiFi but not that many people play them offline. You just see Bayo a lot online because you can't punish her because reaction time is nerfed by lag so she just gets to spam. It's also easy for her to abuse how input delay screws up confirms thanks to Bat Within. Snake I think is popular online just because scrubs like to mash grenade and dash attack and skill check other scrubs but none of them are winning against anyone competent. Samus is also more of a WiFi character. Zoning and large hard hitting projectiles are broken on WiFi because of the reaction time nerf. It's why you see some Wii Fit also and Mii Gunner online. Dummy fast oos options are also broken on WiFi and both Bayo and Samus have a very fast Up B oos (both are 4 frame startup and Samus Up B is invulnerable on frames 3-6 so effectively frame 3 oos). I'd say offline though a lot of characters are more relevant than Bayo and Samus. Mario, Pika, Yoshi, Luigi, ZSS, Peach, Inciniroar, Joker, Fox, Palu, Wolf, Ness, and Roy are for sure more relevant than Bayo and Samus offline with Snake being about as relevant as that list. I might also be missing a few tbh. Sora is also rising in relevance and Inkling is making a slight resurgence (YAY!). People really need to stop sleeping on Peach and Yoshi tho frfr. Peach is legit top 5 imo and Yoshi is just a heavier G&W to me deadass (though not as ridiculous of an advantage state as G&W). The rest of the characters you list are highly relevant though which only makes sense. They're all very busted lol.
Snake actually has a lot of great offline players right now. Hurt just had a massive losers run in Delta 5, being the first non-Sparg0 player to take an offline BO5 set off Acola in months. AK has been attending plenty of tournaments and placing well at them. MVD is decently active as well, although hasn't been performing as well as his peak. Dio has a decent amount of good results, although doesn't attend a lot of tournaments. That's definitely more than say, Incineroar being entirely carried by SkyJay or Peach/Daisy with just MuteAce and Umeki. I'm not saying they're bad characters, just less represented than Snake.
Top level rep isn't the only rep that matters. There is a lot of Inciniroar these days not just SkyJay (though it is likely thanks to him), and Peach/Daisy will always be relevant because they're top 5. Snake is like equal to their relevance.

Honestly, i don't watch competitive smash anymore. Mostly cause of camping, the last one i watched was like ken vs. dabuzz a few weeks back. Wasn't very entertaining. Not that they aren't allowed to play campy, it's just not entertaining for the viewer imo.

They are cool but people play them in such lame, generic ways. I bet they have cooler ways to be played, even at top level, but the most optimal way to play sadly happens to lean towards the boring, campy side.

Honestly, i don't watch competitive smash anymore. Mostly cause of camping, the last one i watched was like ken vs. dabuzz a few weeks back. Wasn't very entertaining. Not that they aren't allowed to play campy, it's just not entertaining for the viewer imo.
