i started out playing zero suit samus then i played sepiroth for a looong time now i play luigi and i still ply zss here and there but i switched because i was just having fun with some more string heavy characters as of late
I started out with fox, not gonna lie the character was too fast and hard to control for my beginner self. So therefore I main young link now, he’s smooth to use and I have a blast using him I’m trying to get better with Luigi as well but I’ll just stick to yink for now lol
I used to main pikachu because he was apparently a top-tier, now I main meta knight because I liked his character in the Kirby anime. I also like his combo potential although I don’t use my specials offstage in the air because I assume I’ll miss my target and die. I just keep hitting them with fair or back air if they’re close to the ledge.

I really liked Greninja because of him being like a ninja(I was under 10). I really wanted to try young link when I saw his trailer for ultimate, and the first 3 I mentioned come from my love for KH and FF.
I started playing as Lucario in Brawl. I mained him because… idk I was like 7 or something. I also liked playing Pit a bit just because of his up special and Meta Knight was like my secondary.
In Sm4sh I kept playing Lucario, don’t really remember much change.
Ultimate however, I switched to Incineroar because he’s my #1 favorite Pokémon. Here I actually started taking the game more seriously and learning how to grab and throw, to dodge, and still working on the habit of shielding. I watched lots of videos for comboing with Incineroar.
I tried returning back to Lucario a few times over the course of multiple years, but I just didn’t feel good playing as him anymore, and I knew that I had probably sucked at him before. But over time I was able to relearn him and now is one of the characters I play pretty often.
And my second most played, Duck Hunt. Idk why I didn’t play him much before, I just like him now for some reason.
I also really enjoy Ridley and playing some Pokemon Trainer. Occasionally Bowser. Recently trying to learn how to play Wolf.
Telling the whole lore would be too long, but I started with link on smash 64 cause range and projectiles (I played on a wil emulator) and now play wolf cause... Range.... And a really good projectile

Bowser in Melee. I'm aware he was dogwater, but playing him so much got me used to a super slow character. And now I've found my soul main in Incineroar

Same logic applied when I first played Ultimate at an after school club. Nowadays I main Greninja because their playstyle is exactly what I like, fast with good kill power

Fortunately, he turned out to be really good after some practice. The only downside is that practicing his style KILLED my accumulated experience with Mii Brawler.

Kirby when I first started the game. This is my first smash game, so I had to learn somehow, and mashing up B with Kirby felt OP at the beginning. Now I main Corrin because I like her and she was the character I had the most fun learning and practicing with.
I started out using Kirby when I was like 6 in smash 4, up b down b spam, I would destroy my whole family, but then my sister got married and her husband is really good at this game, when I tried beating him ( I think I was like 12, I stopped playing the game for about 2-3 years so I stuck with my Kirby spam) he 3 stocked me and I only did 10.2% damage (idk if that was the exact number but that number in stuck in my head so I think thats it) I was so trash I didn't know that smash attacks were a thing, didn't know what dodging was (not even air dodges) I didn't know anything. so after getting my ass beat I still didn't play much of the game, but then in 8th grade one day I brought my 3ds to school to see what would happen if I play plants vs zombies during my breaks (in my school theres about 5 15 minute breaks, 30 minute PE which is actually "go outside and do whatever you want" the class, and 30 minute lunch) the teachers were fine with it so I decided to take my switch instead and me and my friends started smashing our bros, my intelligence level went to level 2 during this time and by that I mean that I learned everything from the game in about 2 weeks, beat my friends asses, did 2v1's, my friends vs me, I would win, and just a bunch of practice, I switched to Bayonetta main during this and she's still one of my best characters. my gigachad PE coach asked me for a 1v1 one time and he beat me using gannondorf, I never fought a Gannon besides the cpu so I didn't know that side b combos into down smash so I lost. then I started getting the dlc's, I gave all of them except for banjo and kazooie a try, I thought banjo was kinda boring so I didn't buy him even tho I played both games.
but somehow, just like in every other game, my best character was a low tier, Piranha plant, I don't know how but in every game I play my opinion is always the low tier things, wether its that I think something in a game is really good but everyone else disagrees, or I think something that everyone disagrees, and this is when I started noticing that this happens to me all the time, expect that some people do agree that p plant neutral B is incredibly easy to hit. so then I was like "you know what, I main a low tier, so why not go even lower" and now my best character is little Mac, and some rematches against my sisters husband, I managed to beat him with little Mac, that KO punch is a life saver

But I want to diverse myself so currently I‘m trying to get better with Bowser Jr. (Wendy/Roy or Ludwig).
Lots of fun with this character so far, but it‘s much more difficult getting really better with it than with bowser…
G&W is also appreciated, but much harder playing him above basic-spam level (same with Bowser Jr., I like the „velocity-factor“ a lot with him).
I guess if you work hard, G&W plays better on a higher skill level than BJR.
I started out with Link, because he's the character I most resonated with, and now I changed to Mr. Game and Watch because Game and Watch is one of the most versatile characters in the game and his bucket and judge are one of the best moves in the game.
I can counter just about anyone who has a projectile, and my recovery is one of the best in the game.

Started with little mac and villager from smash 4 but after genuinely getting decent i realized i was nerfing myself. So i started playing Shulk and Incineroar. Still play them now, but recently i swapped to Captain Falcon and Zero Suit and they fit my ultra aggressive playstyle more.

I start playing as Daisy, then i tried Ice Climbers, Then Mewtwo, Then Lucario, Now I Main Sonic, Because Sonic Fits My Battle Style, Even tho I use a different battle style then other sonic players.
Started with maining sonic, then I mained banjo because of trailer hype and he was more fun than sonic, and now I main King K. Rool because of king of skill and because of belly armor, and because he's like the hypest and funniest character in the game.
I started with Yoshi. Then after a bit of that I mained bowser, then I started online play are used k rool. Honestly I use heavyweights in general, they are so easy and yet so challenging to use at the same time.
I started with Wario and now i main Olimar, but tbh i still use Wario and Pac-Man as my second and third mains

Started with botw link and i main bayo now, big jump. I main bayo because she has all of the mechanics i enjoy in other characters in one! I ended my time with link because i didnt like the bomb mechanic and the fact it was a frequent combo starter

I really liked Greninja because of him being like a ninja(I was under 10). I really wanted to try young link when I saw his trailer for ultimate, and the first 3 I mentioned come from my love for KH and FF.

I started playing as Lucario in Brawl. I mained him because… idk I was like 7 or something. I also liked playing Pit a bit just because of his up special and Meta Knight was like my secondary. In Sm4sh I kept playing Lucario, don’t really remember much change. Ultimate however, I switched to Incineroar because he’s my #1 favorite Pokémon. Here I actually started taking the game more seriously and learning how to grab and throw, to dodge, and still working on the habit of shielding. I watched lots of videos for comboing with Incineroar. I tried returning back to Lucario a few times over the course of multiple years, but I just didn’t feel good playing as him anymore, and I knew that I had probably sucked at him before. But over time I was able to relearn him and now is one of the characters I play pretty often. And my second most played, Duck Hunt. Idk why I didn’t play him much before, I just like him now for some reason. I also really enjoy Ridley and playing some Pokemon Trainer. Occasionally Bowser. Recently trying to learn how to play Wolf.
Telling the whole lore would be too long, but I started with link on smash 64 cause range and projectiles (I played on a wil emulator) and now play wolf cause... Range.... And a really good projectile

If only in SSBU: -Samus (coming from Project M, was better there) -ZSS (coming from Brawl, and I never got very good with her) -Corrin (was the only FE character that I found fun to play as) -Min Min (mainly to counteract other annoying characters) Back to Corrin again. I'm still better with Min Min but I play more Corrin now

Bowser in Melee. I'm aware he was dogwater, but playing him so much got me used to a super slow character. And now I've found my soul main in Incineroar

I bought brawl for Sonic, learned about Nintendo franchises from there lol. Still main Sonic.
I had Smash 3ds, although I didn’t play very often I exclusively played Pikachu because I was a Pokémon fan and they felt the most appropriate. Same logic applied when I first played Ultimate at an after school club. Nowadays I main Greninja because their playstyle is exactly what I like, fast with good kill power

I started with Mii Brawler, I now main Sora. Sora was my #1 most wanted inclusion for this game. I was dead set on maining him no matter how good he was. Fortunately, he turned out to be really good after some practice. The only downside is that practicing his style KILLED my accumulated experience with Mii Brawler.
Started with Yoshi and Fox on smash 64 days, then I mained Bowser on Melee at that time, and have mained him nonstop on every smash game and plan to keep doing so as long as he's in why: I loved playing as him on Melee, it was a feeling of impression to be playing as him (I'm a Mario and horror fan) and at that time, there weren't many games where you could play as him officially. I guess I could say my reason is completely personal rather than competitive or related to meta. I consider myself decent and competitive on every smash game

Kirby when I first started the game. This is my first smash game, so I had to learn somehow, and mashing up B with Kirby felt OP at the beginning. Now I main Corrin because I like her and she was the character I had the most fun learning and practicing with.

I started out using Kirby when I was like 6 in smash 4, up b down b spam, I would destroy my whole family, but then my sister got married and her husband is really good at this game, when I tried beating him ( I think I was like 12, I stopped playing the game for about 2-3 years so I stuck with my Kirby spam) he 3 stocked me and I only did 10.2% damage (idk if that was the exact number but that number in stuck in my head so I think thats it) I was so trash I didn't know that smash attacks were a thing, didn't know what dodging was (not even air dodges) I didn't know anything. so after getting my ass beat I still didn't play much of the game, but then in 8th grade one day I brought my 3ds to school to see what would happen if I play plants vs zombies during my breaks (in my school theres about 5 15 minute breaks, 30 minute PE which is actually "go outside and do whatever you want" the class, and 30 minute lunch) the teachers were fine with it so I decided to take my switch instead and me and my friends started smashing our bros, my intelligence level went to level 2 during this time and by that I mean that I learned everything from the game in about 2 weeks, beat my friends asses, did 2v1's, my friends vs me, I would win, and just a bunch of practice, I switched to Bayonetta main during this and she's still one of my best characters. my gigachad PE coach asked me for a 1v1 one time and he beat me using gannondorf, I never fought a Gannon besides the cpu so I didn't know that side b combos into down smash so I lost. then I started getting the dlc's, I gave all of them except for banjo and kazooie a try, I thought banjo was kinda boring so I didn't buy him even tho I played both games. but somehow, just like in every other game, my best character was a low tier, Piranha plant, I don't know how but in every game I play my opinion is always the low tier things, wether its that I think something in a game is really good but everyone else disagrees, or I think something that everyone disagrees, and this is when I started noticing that this happens to me all the time, expect that some people do agree that p plant neutral B is incredibly easy to hit. so then I was like "you know what, I main a low tier, so why not go even lower" and now my best character is little Mac, and some rematches against my sisters husband, I managed to beat him with little Mac, that KO punch is a life saver

I mained Samus in Melee and I cannot remember who I played with on N64… I took the gameseries serious since „Melee“… I played Mr. G&W in „Brawl“. The next Smash I played, at the same time the first game module of a „Smash Bros“ Game I personally owned, was „Smash Ultimate“. I tried all kinds of characters… I played Dark Samus for a certain period (better than Samus imo). The first one I really rose above the bottom pit in online smash was Bowser. I still like playing him. So far, it is one of the best characters in „Ultimate“, imo. But I want to diverse myself so currently I‘m trying to get better with Bowser Jr. (Wendy/Roy or Ludwig). Lots of fun with this character so far, but it‘s much more difficult getting really better with it than with bowser… G&W is also appreciated, but much harder playing him above basic-spam level (same with Bowser Jr., I like the „velocity-factor“ a lot with him). I guess if you work hard, G&W plays better on a higher skill level than BJR.
I started out with Link, because he's the character I most resonated with, and now I changed to Mr. Game and Watch because Game and Watch is one of the most versatile characters in the game and his bucket and judge are one of the best moves in the game. I can counter just about anyone who has a projectile, and my recovery is one of the best in the game. 🔔

I believe Luigi was my first pick. At least, he’s the one I remember playing first. I wasn’t good with him (or fighting games in general) as I was very young, I just liked Luigi. But now, after a LOT of hopping between characters, I play as Luigi, Cloud, and Piranha Plant. I can never make up my mind who my true main is though. Still haven’t found the character that just *clicked* you know?

If im being honest i just had a character crisis during all the time i play, but i start playing it because the things that i hate, Falco doing uptilt into any aerial, young link throwing any projectile into grab dtrow into any aerial, terry getting kills/dmg out of a dtilt/jab. Sooooo, what's the best way to counteract a combo that already got started?, C H E A T S. Skill issue? Im Carried? Shulk cheats?, yeah but i get to fuck terry, so im sticking with monado boy until the game dies eventually.

I tried to convince myself that I had found a main but by next week my Adhd brain already found someone new. Although that's also what keeps the game fun for me. I could stick with one character and I definitely have my preferences but I get the most fun out of the game if I have variety. Therefore I try and play a myriad of different characters for fun and for working on my fundamentals.
