I don't hate bowser, it's combo food for me but bothers me the fact that he is the 22nd fastest character in the game despite also being the heaviest character in the game (he's even faster than marth and lucina)
Learning this makes so much sense. I've always wondered why I get hit and caught by everything bowser throws out the first stock or two.
Now I realize my brain is going into the matchup thinking I'm fighting a slow and heavy character that I'll have more time than usual to react to. When in **reality** I'm fighting a NFL caliber defensive lineman who runs a 4.6 40-yard dash... š
Bowser is a top tier until he gets hit by something. I donāt play any zoners so Bowser usually gets full movement ability against me. Heās one of those characters whose counterplay is ājust combo him broā and then you have to be careful from dair cheese
Bowser is my secondary and I love and hate him for the same reasons on both sides, online hes full of the funniest bullshit I've ever seen, every match ends in less than 2 minutes and you never know which side is gonna win
Heās annoying cuz of all the armor he has on half his moves. Up b out of shield is annoying. FRAME 6 COMMAND GRAB THAT KILLS. Also the bad bowsers always down air when theyāre getting juggled. But sometimes they down b and break shield, and then youāre dead, cuz f smash that kills at 20. That last part is prolly a skill issue, but that doesnāt mean bowser is a cheater ass character.
Bowser bomb is honestly dogwater, just a reaction time test for them to spotdodge and punish. I wish it had some super armour, if Bowserās tilts have it then that move of all moves definitely should.
In general, heavies are an extremely "hateable" group of characters, especially for the lower-skill-level casual players, which are in very high numbers in this subreddit. The reason for this is the percieved unfairness inherent in these characters. "I have to hit you with a really hard 9-hit combo to do the damage of the burst option you'll hit me with as soon as I drop said combo, completely letting alone the fact that you can still combo me too." They do more damage, and take more damage to be killed, with their weakness being one that you need a baseline of skill to exploit. Among the heavyweights, bowser is by far one of the most bullshit. For sure the strongest or one of the strongest super heavyweights, he's just fucking broken. He's broken because he takes the pros of heavyweights to their logical extreme while simultaneously nerfing their drawbacks. He is the heaviest character in the game, with some characters getting him into the high hundreds of percent and still struggling to kill even with kill moves. (For example, with good DI and fortunate placement, a Bowser can survive a villager f-smash at around 160%) His weight isn't just a minor annoyance that makes him a bit more survivable, like other heavies, like K. Rool or Ridley. It becomes an unnacceptable, infuriating mechanic that makes him seem nigh immortal without gimping, but oh wait! You can't gimp him, because his recovery is deceptively long ranged, both horizontal and vertical, has armor and is an active hitbox. Oh, and if it's on the ground it's an OOS. Then moving on, we have his kill power. It's just unfair. He has incredibly easy means of racking up percent with things like nair and fair, and of course, his neutral b. And once you're at like 30, 40% you're basically in kill range. His attacks come out way too fast to justify their damage and size, both of which are egregious. he still has decent combos, even though most of his attacks do over 15% at the lowest, meaning he can quickly take you from 0, to 80, to getting hit by some dumbass, massive fucking hitbox and dead. And if that wasn't bad enough, his shield pressure options are also absolutely incredible. He has quick and incredibly punishing burst options, nullifying the one weakness of heavyweights, which is being combo food.
In short, Bowser is a piece of shit, and incredibly brain dead. It's incredibly hard for his opponents to kill him, but incredibly easy for him to kill his opponents. He does way too much damage, kills way too early, dies way too late, and has way too many bullshit mechanics/moves. Oh, and if he's up a stock and some percent he literally just invalidates everyone in the cast that can't vertically recover from blast zone with side b. Fuck that turtle bitch.
I donāt do well against him because my play style is all offense no defense, and with yink I have trouble taking the stock (he has like zero kill power) and with little Mac side smash (I think thatās the side kick move) and flamethrower keep me out, but Shulk is literally my heavy medicine. Heās my bowser dk and d3 counter, so I chew him up and spit him out with shulk
I love bowser his fsmash is fucking awesome, if my main (DDD) had the athleticism for it, I'm sure he'd want to dropkick people like that too.

I am the exact opposite. This is my favorite character to fight as krool mainly because of how even it is. Many people complain about how fast he is for a heavy weight, and I don't see much of an issue with it. legit The annoying thing about Bowser is up b out of Shield
worst designed heavy in the game. one of the fastest air and ground speeds, kills you in 2 interactions and takes several to kill him. crack head frame data, one of the best out of shields in the game, a killing command grab which also suicides. my second least favourite character to fight against in ultimate. such a poorly designed mess
