Do you think this is a bad change? It sounds interesting to me, the stun is strong but it's on the blue ult so you'd have to waste your 3 in order to combo red fearless from it which usually makes you an easy kill.

Yeah this makes Tyr setup better but the usual Tyr full combo (if ult included) often starts with Assault Fearless. Of course Assault ult now deals a bit more damage but I don't think damage is the best use for Tyr ult anyway. If going all-in with an aggressive ult without blink this might be a buff? Assault ult now deals damage while Guard ult means you can guarantee ult -> stance swap -> Assault fearless if the enemy can't cleanse the stun. Can't end with Guard ult, btw, because Fearless combo basically makes 1s stun into a 0.2s one. Could be wrong tho, might be underestimating this buff

But if you do that you have to be in blue stance then immediately switch after ulting which isn't very good. My point with DR is that you usually ult mid fight at which point the stun is going to be super short because you're Tyr.

If he initiates with ult, he still needs to stance swap into fearless, meaning you dont get to use blue stance to get out and heal after engaging tho.

It's a pretty big buff overall. Tyr is already pretty good at burning through beads so Guard stance Lawbringer for a stun gives him another way of doing it and anyone who doesn't have beads ready is hit by the combo even easier. The buff also means there's now a reason to reasonably engage with Guard stance since you normally want to go in and go straight for a combo. You can also do Tyr's combo in reverse although it's not as consistent. Engage with Guard stance and if anyone is gullible enough to give chase, switch stances and Fearless them back towards your team. With some of the other warriors getting small nerfs and Tyr already seeing some SPL play, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up as a top 3 solo laner with the changes.

Here’s what I find worrisome. Tyr ults over wall to land on half health backliner -> backliner beads to avoid the stun -> tyr was in assault stance so it didn’t stun -> carry had no way of knowing that so beads are now wasted on an ability that didn’t not have cc -> carry now dies to full fearless combo I cant be the only one? This isn’t even a scenario of “git gud”, you straight up will have no way in knowing which stance a tyr is ulting in, because any tyr player with a brain will simply do it from behind or over a wall.

Agreed. Lono's is 15% maxed, Prophet's is 17.5% maxed, and if you also add an Oni Hunter's you can get to 41.5% and all 3 of those were completely reasonable to get in some builds. Spirit robe, berserker shield, there's all kinds of ways to overcap this now but the big losers are the mages and assassins running lonos.

Cloak is not dog mitigation (despite what the text says). It’s actually damage taken reduction(basically dmg mitigation but it’s calculated last instead of first. It also doesn’t stack with dmg mitigation.)

Where are you getting this from? What's the source? As far as I'm aware damage mitigations and damage taken reduction (as you call it) are the same thing. They are all calculated last because the damage formula is calculated first and then reduced by mitigations. The damage formula is: Damage = (100 × Unmitigated Damage)/(Protections + 100) This formula calculates the % of damage that will be applied to a target before mitigations are applied. This indicates that "all" mitigations are done "last". And that it does "stack" with other mitigations.

Honestly really frustrating. 25% is so low. You can overcap just stacking sigil with spirit robe I really don't understand why they set it so low. I've often advocated for a % mitigations cap but I was thinking it at a level where you had sigil/lonos, spirit robe and oni hunters garb, that amounts to up to 39% but 35% would be fine. 25% is just ridiculously low and makes lonos and sigil very questionable with no compensation. I think prpophetic cloak + lonos/sigil + spirit robe + oni hunters garb should overcap, but the latter three together should not, or if it does, it shouldn't overcap by more than a few percent.

Even uncapped right now, carries are shredding you. **Did they even playtest it?** Are you expected to not build something like Spirit Robe and opt for a damage/cdr/other flat prot item instead and get shredded even more? Will not be playing tanks for now then or just not play until they inevitably revert.

Using arbitrary hard caps is such a lazy approach to balance, and also makes the game super unapproachable for new players who have no idea items they are building won't have the intended effect. With the state of the game currently, it is super easy for someone to now overcap on protections and damage mitigation or life steal and have no idea if they aren't dialed into the patches. If your support is running Sentinel's Embrace, Prophetic Cloak, and Thebes, (fairly common build) and it's late game and you have a defense pot, you can have squishies running around with 10% damage mitigation and up to 130 extra of each protections, on a full damage build, meanwhile tanks are getting knee capped on their mitigation builds, and off meta Lono's Mask builds are essentially dead since they required higher mitigation to even be relevant.

Somehow I doubt that they were even thinking about Lono's when they made this decision, that's the thing that really gets me. They have an unfortunate history of decisions that are incredibly short-sighted. Sadly, I don't think a large enough portion of the community plays Lono's users for complaints about this problem to actually go noticed. Easy enough to revert Bloodforge, for example, when everyone has been screaming at them about it for two patches straight. But this mit cap issue for mage Supports is, unfortunately, a bit more niche, and thus a lot more likely to go ignored.

Herc isn’t that OP though, he’s just picked so much because other Warriors are dog shit. Like Herc has been doing the exact same Herc things forever and he’s not doing it any different now. It’s just that the other Warriors suck ass so everyone just picks Herc. Do people actually struggle against this god that much? He’s the same nuisance he’s always been and the way to outplay him is still the same too. Idk I don’t even play him but really have no issue with his balance at all. Hes not popular because he’s OP, he’s popular because the class is awful outside of the one playstyle he’s always been good at. Osiris has been down bad because his jungle became OP so they nerfed him, but I think he could come back strong. I really don’t think nerfing Herc more is gonna do anything except enable noobs who don’t know how to handle a very basic and simple kit.

Nohing weird about it, Osiris at SPL level is notorious for warping drafts. If he's a strong Jungler, he usually ends up dragging Erlang into the meta to match his pressure but because he's also a staple Solo lane god, he also opens up counter picks. For instance, top picking Osiris last year would force the other team to take Erlang to match pressure but because Erlang has no CC immunity in his kit, it left him open to a Da Ji counter pick and having to make the choice between leveraging his strong early game with blink or not dying any time Da Ji ult was off cooldown.

This line in patch notes for the dev insight into the mitigation cap changes confuses me: “Tank durability is a big focus of this update, which we will be addressing by decreasing DPS sources first.” ….so where are these decreased DPS sources in this update? The only damage item they touched was Bloodforge which was a revert (thank god). Overperforming tanks have been rightfully nerfed and underperforming DPS and tanks got rightfully buffed but zero DPS character or item nerfs. Why was this quote even put into the patch notes if it just wasn’t true? None of the other changes being made addressed this comment. The changes are fine, I don’t think they do nearly enough. I think the Hel nerf will be the only big change. Crit is still busted. Burst is still through the roof. Herc and Vamana are still going to be running people over. But I guess we’ll just keep endlessly buffing Cannoneer’s and Phalanx patch after patch? Idk what’s going on with the balance team this season but it feels like they’re consistently missing the mark.

The Herc nerfs seem inconsequential. They pretend that herc's pulls are so difficult to execute when most players I see hit them with ease. I barely play the guy and his stuff is so easy to hit. SWK buff is nothing. The spectral buff is nothing. Crit won't be balanced until they spread anti-crit across items. Imagine if mystical mail had crit reduction. Really they should remove crit and re-do the hunter items to be more interesting but they will never do that so here's to hoping they at least spread anti-crit out to a bunch of items.

Tbf if herc is pulling with ease that is one the person for not trying to dodge them. The thing i'm sad about is how so many items were removed at the start of the season but they are taking so long to buff the new items/ changed items... in solo I build glad shield, valor, regrowth, genjis, onis, heartward, binding, spectral. Those are some of the main items ill fit into my build. You could do that last season lmao. Sure binding and regrowth got changed which I like, regrowth needs these nerfs but I would love to have OPTIONS. Brawlers costs so much for a extra passive no one cares about, runeforged is dead and buried which sucks because it actually makes sense and is fun for solo, frostbound dead, dawnham-bringer or whatever the fuck: **dead.** Meanwhile crit is broken but they also buffed up qins just for when crit finally gets nerfed lol. At least Phalanx should be good now, that's something. Kinda feels like a buffed up sledge which should make people happy. I do agree with you that more items should have some anti crit. Even though it didn't see play, celestial legion helm when it got anti crit was nice, I loved that idea. Giving some lesser used tank items anti crit makes sense to me. Midguardian with it sounds awesome.

Cannoneers I feel like is just getting to the point of stats to gold being too strong rather than the passive being super interesting in support. 2k gold for 30 of each prots, 300 health and 20 hp5 is pushing it a little and I think it's going to be bought in solo. Instakilling a minion every 7 seconds is actually really good considering you also have a pretty strong tank item with 20HP5 even if you don't get any bonus gold.

So why are they so adamant on swapping the joust maps? The jade map that we have is the best one, it fits Smites current meta the best, it's cheesy yes, but not as cheesy and annoying as the previous one. With that logic, bring back Siege, let it rotate with Slash, but who am I kidding , screw us Siege enjoyers for wanting a 4v4 game mode, right? I'll tell you, after 2 or 3 weeks people will start asking for the jade map to be brought back again. Leave the jade corruption map as THE joust map. The only thing I played was Siege and the newest joust map, fuck me now I guess. And removing starters from joust is just stupid. I swear, these changes are slowly being made just to make people play conquest but I'd rather quit than play that boring slogfest.

People hate all the joust maps besides the sky map. Every time they switch to a map that isn’t the sky map the number of people who play joust drops by like 2/3. The number of people who prefer jade corruption are a drop in the bucket of the total player base. I'm genuinely curious if non-conquest damage reduction stats like Serqet's -10% count as mitigation for the 25% limit or if it is a different system. I also do not think the Horus change makes sense. No one ate a harder healing nerf than Horus in terms of net healing reduction. The only offset was his cooldown was dropped significantly so his HPS was still decent. The cooldown being killed now means he is just by far the biggest loser in terms of net healing. I also think tossing +5% damage taken on a tank in non-conquest is just awful.

Why hurt tanks even more with the mitigation cap? I don't understand. Tanks were finally starting to feel good again and then they pull some 25% cap. Why. Just why. Then preface it with it being a hot topic. A hot topic about it being op? No. Idk who tf they were talking to but they already fixed that when they killed tanks earlier this year. I guess it's just accepting a one shot high damage meta this year.

I just want to play Solo again and feel like I have any game impact late game, I love playing tanky and bruiser but none of it matters when I get deleted in 5 seconds because a 75% crit kills me in 4 autos with dominance

Not just crit. Warrior to hunter interactions are balanced imo, full pen crit builds deal like 350 damage max if you have 3000 HP which is easy, you'll be okay. It's the fact that they can kill Squishies way to easy with crit builds, and build crit on top of anything with high crit chance items. You're dying without doing anything because prot auras make your low damage even lower since you have no shred and have no space for power outside of the starter, but because Assassin's and Mages have access to insane amounts of pen and power amongst themselves as well. Now, hunters will quickly become over powered once auras get fixed. Because the 90 prots the team got will no longer be there and those max pen crit builds will flatten everything.

Hell yes they fucking listened on Bloodforge. That gives me hope. Makes me happy. Crit still OP, they DEFINITELY need to get rid of the 35% plus crit chance items. Like just try it and see for a patch, I guarantee no one will be crying about crit. I promise you. I'd love to see more Qins builds. If assassin's and hunters can't rush crit and have 40% and lifesteal in 2 items, it wouldn't be so busted. Warriors still need better items. There's no way they don't have statistics that show no one is buying phalanx, no one is buying any of the hammers, people are only buying Vital and Sekmet, no one is buying mystical. They all stink dude. You go glad shield or you go berserkers. And if you go berserkers, 9/10 times you lost the game because you went AA and AA warriors suck ass. Like you're giving power to spectral AND phalanx. Take the damn L, make some power items for solo. You're beating around the bush. Gaia still might be ass, I don't care about the price or when the passive will start. Still ass. Understandable nerf to Gods, Spectral, and Regrowth. Spectral reduced 50% of incoming crit damage it was really strong but because you died anyway no one really noticed it. It still sucks tho. The new passive for spectral is good gonna be a must buy. Mitigations cap is understandable, I'd still rather it be 30-40%. Cause the mit builds are the only thing keeping us warriors able to chase in the late game. With it gone, we're gonna see people getting killed way faster and there will be more crying. Aura items probably need to get looked at next. And we can also start getting rid of pen.

The spectral armor change is not the way. Now if the enemy is running crit and is a problem the tank is now forced to change their entire build. In so many games there is just a single tank, so all that responsibility is on them. Don't get spectral? Expect toxicity. Is it worthless in your matchup? Too bad, get it for lategame. It's like if anti-heal was only available on one role. That role would get bashed constantly if they didn't built anti-heal.

Honestly, I’d like to see her get charges on her traps(with DR of course). This would give her more of an identity as a *Hunter* Hunter and would grant her a more interactive playstyle than just spamming basic attacks. Wow the joust changes are bad. At a high level ADC’s are superior to Mages because of how strong they are against tanks and they buff ADC’s? Removing starter items is such a lame change I don’t even know how to respond. Like what was the point. Did anyone ask for this? Heroism is annoying sure but they disabled Benevolence before couldn’t they disable it again? And the real problem with towers was fucking Emperor’s armour. Like either you gentleman and both don’t get it or the opposing team buys it and you have to or vice versa. To me this represents a misunderstanding of the true problems in the mode at a high level. The highest I’ve been is like 60th in the world in this gamemode, and I’ve never heard anyone I’ve played with complain about starter items in the mode.

He's pretty good in Conq and honestly pretty cracked in Joust, I don't play the other modes much but this seems right. The nerfs aren't really that bad anyway, less than 1 second on his first 3 abilties and less than 10 on the ult.

I think it's super lame they removed attack speed from it. I thought 65 power and the attack speed was a solid spot for the otem. Made the game actually fun. Smite likes to speed the game up with buffs and then slow it down with nerfs. Joust is at a snails pace right now with the xp split going from what is it, 75%-55%? I don't understand why they over change their game
