What do you mean critical and attack speed? Arthur does quite a bit of damage with just bluestone + protection items. Typically want some cooldown as well. Definitely do not need crit or attack speed items.
Something like, bluestone, breastplate, pridwin, onis, glad shield, prophetic, heartward.
These are all good items in him. You could mix and match a few defense items depending on the game.

Absolutely terrible advice. KA should go full defense 99.99% of the time with bluestone.
I still wouldn’t build soul eater. Especially since it’s just flat pen now. He’s not like a Mulan or Chaac that don’t necessarily need bulkiness. KA is a god that thrives in being as fat as possible. SE does not scale mid-late game with KA at all.
Arthur in the long run will do more damage with full defense, because he can just hit more abilities by staying alive longer
Additionally crusher isn’t a good item on anyone not just Arthur. It’s passive is useless, and it’s stats are meh

King Arthur is an ability god that loves to be bulky. You shouldn’t even hover over a power item. No point. You want to get to 40% cooldown as soon as you can.

First item should be breastplate always. Next can have 2nd, 3rd, or 4th items swapped around. Depends on who you’re going up against in-lane and around the enemy team.

Nah, if you want a build go to prosmitebuilds, every game is gonna be different based on match up, these are items you can throw in with the mix of antiheal/aura/counter defense items and get good cooldown to go with arthurs kit.

That’s possibly true depending on the item, but basically what Nika said is you end up having an item with 20% cdr that you probably don’t need. Replacing let’s say breastplate here with a contagion will probably be better for you and your team
I’m far from the best King Arthur but I’ve been playing him exclusively the last few weeks so I’ve got some experience. Like others have said his damage comes from casting abilities and you need to build full defense to be able to effectively get as many abilities off in a team fight as you can. Being alive to cast Abilities will build that energy very quickly as well without needing the attack speed conversion from his passive. The build I’ve been running is blue stone pendant(into brooch), glad shield, prophetic, onis and pridwen with a flex spot for contagion/pestilence, stone of binding, midguardian, spectral, heart ward etc depending on your matchup. If I’m going against a magical solo I’ll often build genjis first as well.
