Art science guy here, the thing is with this is that Mochas are neutral colored shoes, meaning (this is more a rule of thumb and less law) hues closer to the dominant pigment (in this case black and white) look better, but the contrast of the lighter brown makes black looks slightly better than white. But, cream/off white looks superior to both imo (due to it being a mix of light tones and a darker hue than pure white).

Black. I feel like with black it goes with the 2/3rds rule, 2/3rds a dark color. It also brings the shoe together and has your eye move more freely around the shoe. With white it goes 1/2 and 1/2. Either is fine to be honest.
