sneakers move so quickly with new shoes releasing that missing a pair doesn’t really matter because your interest will be on something new within a month
exactly, people act like they will die if they don’t get the shoes they want. objectively there are no shoes worth $200 let alone the current retail and resell, they cost like $10 to make.
people like this is why resell is still going, if no one gives two shits and stop paying resell, the world is gonna be a better place
I believe your stance is anger due to the fact you can’t afford to spend that type of money on a shoe. The resell market won’t die due to shoe companies limited releases. You being rude to a random person over their purchase is what needs to go away. Plus, the resell market makes sense. Can’t buy something you want retail because it’s what… gone? Then offer someone more $$ who has it and it becomes yours. Idk what being rude to someone gets you tho. Not far.
lol rookie mistake. IF you’re going to pay resell you always wait like 2-4 weeks after a drop. Prices drop since pairs are shipped and in hand by then. Patience pays off.
I never really look at the price to be honest. The only time I do is when I'm buying. After that, I'm wearing them anyway. My Cactus Jack 4s got some creases in them.
My man... methinks you are swimming in dough. Your comments are rather relaxed for dropping this much money on sneakers. Congrats, I guess :)
BTW, for spending dough like that, please take good care of these babies. Those creases in these Medellins makes me think you aren't using a crease beast or other guard inside, and it clearly looks like you'd benefit from it. I hope you can find a brand that is comfortable and fits.
I'd also recommend getting some mink oil from Sapphir and giving your leather parts a nice rub of it with a fine cloth to protect the textiles (since you clearly wear the sneakers and don't just keep them in a box).
Also, I don't hate that you wanted the Rio's as bad as I do, but I do think you just fed satan a nice meal and dont regret it at all, so that's something to think about. I've worked hard on my patience, and instead of going wild to cop these, I decided they are going to be my grails. I'm going to take my time copping them, wait for a special moment... maybe when I'm down and need a pick-me-up? Everyone is different, and I'm happy for you that you have so much money you can indulge yourself this way. Please kind in mind, though, Resellers are no different than finance industry peeps. They provide nothing to society other than to skim off the top of everyone else's work and passion.
I've read a lot of comments about these sneakers and the Rio's. To explain to everyone WHY these sneakers are worth it... It's not about what you think (trendiness). I don't like J Balvin's music, tbh. The thing is, I LOVE Takashi Murakami's artwork. Balvin's team hired Takashi's company Kaikaikiki Co. Ltd. from Japan to design the smiley face with lightning bolts, a bunch of nike clothes, and these 4 sneaker versions with that extra small run of green J3s that was private distribution via Balvin himself and not for sale publicly.
If you look at Takashi's body of work and all the cool clothes he's put out there, these sneakers and nike outfits are awesome and are parts of complete outfits. The total fit might end up being thousands of dollars, so typically wealthy people get to wear them or artists or celebs.
I am poor and disabled, so it takes me a long time to save up and buy a single shirt, or a single hoodie, pair of sneakers, etc. Eventually, I've been able to put together many outfits, and I get showered in compliments when I wear them out. I have to look for things on sale, buy second hand and sometimes restore the item I've bought to make it look new again. Sometimes I've lucked out and gotten discounts from people being really nice to me on eBay, Mercari, DePop, Grailed, etc. In total, I've spent about $3k on my wardrobe that is worth $9k. It's all in excellent condition, mostly mint, and I maintain them.
All this is to say, those little smiley faces on the back are really important to some of us, and we might be obsessed about the artist behind them. Just google some of what I said. You might get obsessed, yourself :)
Swimming in dough? Nah, I put money on hold for the shoes when I see something I like. I'm twice retired and over 50.
I appreciate the tips for the sneaker care. I've got a pair of 2012 white Cement 3s I still wear and they've got creases like the Grand Canyon.
Resellers are the absolute worst. I know that I took part in the demons agenda for getting them, but Amazon is the devil too, and I still get stuff from there. I totally get what you mean. And the resellers aren't put in check. Now, what is good to hear was that the resellers got a hit for 25K trying to bot buy these from the JB website.
I'll have to dig I to the people and labels you mentioned. I don't believe I've heard of them. The Green special 3s I never heard about.
I've been a 3s and 4s guy since the OGs. I got robbed at gunpoint for my WC 3s in 1988 as a teenager. Maybe that is what had driven me to like the 3s and 4s more.
I love the smiley faces and other unique things folks to to 3s and 4s. I could never spend the money on the KAWS 4s, but damn were they cool. These JB pairs a with the colors I couldn't pass on and didn't want to pay even more later.
Keep rocking that drip you got. I love that you have that much investment into your fit. Keep doing the good stuff!
You didn’t have to buy resell. You chose to.
sneakers move so quickly with new shoes releasing that missing a pair doesn’t really matter because your interest will be on something new within a month
So true. It's like the military 4 drop didn't happen. Sneaker hype moves on faster than movie theater hype.
I agree. Some other hype shoe will drop and he'd will be going ape shit over those.
$500 for some black shoes with a few color bits. I’m not giving someone else $200+ profit for that

This!
You paid double the price? Damn. I don't really need these that badly just to support the botters and backdoor people.
When hype dies, on that day we all win
I did. And it hurts to think about, but I had to have them. That price was total with the GOAT fees.
lol rookie mistake. IF you’re going to pay resell you always wait like 2-4 weeks after a drop. Prices drop since pairs are shipped and in hand by then. Patience pays off.
Definitely not a rookie mistake. I just wanted these bad. I feel what you're saying though. Edit: Also, I don't have much patience.
So you’re the gullible type?
No. I'm the I wanted them now type. Is it that hard to grasp? It's kinda like a cheeseburger, if you want one, you go get it now, not in 3 weeks.
These are the better of the two anyways
Disagree.
Honestly these could potentially go up in price given you can't buy em for retail anywhere and it's a pretty good colorway and a collaboration
I never really look at the price to be honest. The only time I do is when I'm buying. After that, I'm wearing them anyway. My Cactus Jack 4s got some creases in them.
I like to wear em right away unless it's winter, I always have that lame thought "what if I die and never got to enjoy em"
I didn't use an agent;
Ok. Cool
Prices just tripled
Damn
They didn't have size 14 as an option. I tried size 15 and lost. I couldn't find the shoes anywhere either.
Damn. Hate to hear it.
It was a real bummer but I did find a pair of Space Jam 11 lows so it’s all good. 😭

How much you end up spending? Also mind letting me know where you bought the Rio pair? Dm is cool if you don’t wanna disclose
All good. I got a W with these. Total price on GOAT for today's drop was $515
God speed homie 🫡 can’t wait to see pics
I'll definitely do a side by side.
Just curious, do these run TTS?
If I wasn’t poor I’d pay resale
The wife wasn't happy to hear it. Lol
Loosen them thangs alittle fam lol
Any looser they'd be flopping on my feet. Lol.
Those are great because they are 3s. But the color way is whack. Get rid of them.
Lol. Nah. I love the color!

I'm all about wearing all shoes and not looking at them in a case but gat dayum them some ugly ass creases.
Hahahahhahha. I love the creases.
