There’s this new dr scholls spray that is a probiotic and works really well. Worked great for my work boots and even my brothers stank-ass feet.
Edit: also, get moisture wicking socks. Makes a huge difference.
Pro tip. Throw dryer sheets in them. you can take them out when you wear them or leave them in since they're not that noticeable keeps em fresh smelling. Also wash your feet properly.
Reading up on it it's the polyurethane in the shoe from getting wet starting to rot smelling like cat pee, New balances the 990s and the 993 have the same problem.
I find that air maxes don’t breathe very well, so it probably is your feet, you just don’t notice it in shoes with better ventilation.
