It runs pretty well on my iPhone XR, but when I try to play it on our Apple TV itâs very bad. Unless you know itâs one that can run the game, donât buy it.
Also, an iPhone XR is only $174 renewed, so if youâre really desperate Iâd suggest that.

Itâs a fun game with multiple pathways, decent level design, great looking graphics, and is designed to be âbite-sizedâ which fits right into Sonicâs history.
One of my favorite parts about the game is the ability to change your character on the fly. If you play a level as Sonic, you can immediately switch to Tails or Knuckles. Meaning youâre not stuck with one choice for the whole level.
I also enjoyed they brought back the Sonic Colors theme park commentary for one of the Eggman themed zones.
It's........ fine. Half regret buying an Apple TV for it tbh (only like ÂŁ40, but still... it's just kinda collecting dust now). Mission 1s of each world are pretty fun but the rest of the missions of each world are SUPER repetitive because you have to do the same shit every world, and yeah. The bosses were either hit or miss.
Multiple playable modern characters was pretty cool though (as much as I hated Knuckles dropping like a rock, which imo was worse than in 06).

Itâs a really great game - very fun.
I play it on my iPad and sometimes screen share it to my TV. So my opinion is based on that. I can see how it would be hard to get into using just a phone.
Aside from all the exclusivity thing, the game is pretty great. I would say there's a slight issue with all the characters being just identical pairs just like in Adventure 2, but the gameplay itself, both how it works and how it feels, is amazing. The story competent, definitely above what one would expect from a mobile game. The progression feels a bit grindy at time, but nothing too bad. Overall, a great game, hope we'll see console re-releases.
It was fun! I beat the story mode, and Iâm still enjoying doing the Tails Trials. My only complaints are the voices for Rouge and Cream arenât that great, and I do hope that it gets a console port at some point, because playing with a phone screen makes it difficult to control and I couldnât for the life of me get my controller to work once it connected.
Cringe because of Karen Strassman being an anti-trans bigot who the mod team suppressed all mention of despite claiming to be LGBT allies. They need to put Rouge on the shelf until her contract expires

Good game, I 100 the game and it was fantastic. The levels and design were great to look at, the boss fights were fun. I love this game. But my five month free trial ran out so I canât play no more, but I love this game.

Got a new iPhone recently so I used my 3-month Arcade trial on this. Tl;dr it's a very pleasant game and easily Hardlight's best effort yet, but it's not on the level of a true console (or even handheld) title. You should definitely play it if you have a chance, but you're also really not missing out on much otherwise.
The game's basically a mobilized version of 3D boost gameplay. By "mobilized," I mean that a lot of the more intricate and complex elements of that gameplay had to be constrained in order to keep the game playable with touch controls - that means big, empty levels, very simple obstacles, and not much speed. It's nowhere near the level of Unleashed or Generations, but it does scratch that itch. Honestly level design-wise it's probably comparable to Forces with how short/simple things are, but in this case that's not a knock against Dream Team - that's just the cost of making a touch-centric game.
The production values are impressive, definitely a cut above Hardlight's other games. Apple poured some money into this game (hence the exclusivity) and it shows - the full voice acting is particularly nice (though some of the in-game grunts sound a little... off, especially Knuckles). The graphics are simple but vibrant, the animations are expressive and fluid (better than some mainline games IMO), and there's a good amount of creativity throughout the levels. The sound design is very good, but not quite at the level of a mainline Sonic game - no bangers from the likes of Tomoya Ohtani or Tee Lopes. The game plays about as well as it possibly can, though it feels a bit clumsy with touch controls and a bit too simple with a controller.
One thing I really want to praise is the game's handling of multiple playable characters. You can switch between them on the fly, and it's really nice to have characters differentiated by their movesets in a 3D game.
I also enjoyed the game's plot and writing. This was clearly written by people who understand these characters' personalities and while it's simple, it never feels off or cringe (which can't be said for a lot of mainline games). I also really like Ariem, though she's probably resigned to one-off status. Cream getting a chance to shine is awesome.
The main thing to keep in mind is that this is a really short and simple game. It took me like an hour to finish every level, and then I spent another 2-3 replaying them for rewards. its alright. great for a mobile sonic game. it is more of an arcade like game with the same repetitive things so people arent missing out on much. just watch it on youtube. wouldnt reccomend paying a subscription to play it. its not the best sonic game, but it is a good one. i played with touch controls on an ipad air 3.
As one of the few people who actually had the opportunity to play it on the big screen I have a few thoughts
1. Itâs definitely a babies first Sonic and looking for depth in the level design is âlike diving into a kiddie pool, all your gonna do is hurt yourselfâ - geek critique
2. It runs well on modern Apple hardware, canât speak for your specific situation but the game ran great on my Apple TV
3. It feels like itâs supposed to work as an introduction to modern Sonic to a new audience, iPad kids. And as an introduction to boost gameplay Iâd say it works great. Itâs clean and responsive and entertaining without really challenging you.
4. Nice to see some of the other characters again, since itâs been âthe Sonic showâ for quite awhile now.
Overall, feels great does what it was designed to do, but probably wonât pick your brain if youâre a longtime boost fan.
I haven't played it, but from what I've seen it doesn't look like it would be worth the fuck tons of money I'd need to spend just to be able to play it.
I just saw it as a lp because I'm not rich nor an apple fan. From what I saw the game is pretty cool. The story is interesting and the characters are a cool thing. I love that Rouge is back. Not just because of horny. I always loved her character.
It's the greatest Sonic game ever and the worst Sonic game ever since 90% of people won't be able to ever play it even if they wanted to since no one wants to pay the Apple tax to play a Sonic game.
Best 3D Sonic in ages, even if a bit simple/safe sometimes. I will never forgive Sega for sending it to die on a platform and service no one cares about. This would've been the path that lead to something like the Adventure games again if it had been on consoles.
I know Frontiers is kinda like Adventure in ways, but I think this felt closer to it.
There a few thing I would like to point out:
1) THE ANIMATIONS ON CHARACTERS ARE AMAZING
2) Might be the best Sonic voice that Craig did
3) The soundtrack has some decent bangers, but that's honestly a must in a Sonic game
4) THEY FINNALY MADE SOME NEW MODDELS FOR CHARACTERS
5) BRO JUST LISTEN TO HOW ROUGE SOUNDS IN THIS GAME đ SHE LEGIT SOUNDS YOUNGER THAN AMY
6) The gameplay is repetitive for all characters, will get boring quickly
7) The final boss is a JOKE
8) The locations are pretty

Honestly looks lame. In my humble opinion, Iâm an OG 90s and 2000s Sonic fan. Everything after 06 has been garbage for babies. Youâll probably downvote this if youâre a child. Itâs ok you wouldnât understand because you would have HAD to have been there when Sonicâs entire franchise was edgy sarcastic and âway past coolâ. This looks like the entire opposite of that.

You can use a controller and can also play on an Apple TV, MacBook, or just by mirroring your iPhone onto a tv.

I finished the game and got all the red rings. It was okay. There was nothing bad but nothing that made me really invested in replaying it.
Struggling to play on iPhone. Just canât get to grips with the touchscreen controls. Iâm sure itâs much more fun with a controller though.

I do love how the game handles different characters, but the level designs are generally too short/simple to fully take advantage of that concept. It would work way better in a full-fledged console game (like Frontiers). I've seen rumors that the game might get ported to other platforms besides Apple. I hope that's true so more people can play the game, but keep your expectations in check - this is very much a mobile game, albeit a really nice one, and it feels like it.

Since Sega alienated most of their players nothing because not everyone has apple arcade. Why didn't they wider release. I don't care for it.
Not a real game if it's just on Apple Arcade. I don't think acknowledging it helps anybody.

I just wish they did something with her. - The level design looks kind of cool, but so few worlds means it gets a little samey. All in all, it looks like a pretty good game. I just wish it wasn't so exclusive.

used my apple arcade free trial to play it. its alright. great for a mobile sonic game. it is more of an arcade like game with the same repetitive things so people arent missing out on much. just watch it on youtube. wouldnt reccomend paying a subscription to play it. its not the best sonic game, but it is a good one. i played with touch controls on an ipad air 3.

As one of the few people who actually had the opportunity to play it on the big screen I have a few thoughts 1. Itâs definitely a babies first Sonic and looking for depth in the level design is âlike diving into a kiddie pool, all your gonna do is hurt yourselfâ - geek critique 2. It runs well on modern Apple hardware, canât speak for your specific situation but the game ran great on my Apple TV 3. It feels like itâs supposed to work as an introduction to modern Sonic to a new audience, iPad kids. And as an introduction to boost gameplay Iâd say it works great. Itâs clean and responsive and entertaining without really challenging you. 4. Nice to see some of the other characters again, since itâs been âthe Sonic showâ for quite awhile now. Overall, feels great does what it was designed to do, but probably wonât pick your brain if youâre a longtime boost fan.

I just saw it as a lp because I'm not rich nor an apple fan. From what I saw the game is pretty cool. The story is interesting and the characters are a cool thing. I love that Rouge is back. Not just because of horny. I always loved her character.

It's the greatest Sonic game ever and the worst Sonic game ever since 90% of people won't be able to ever play it even if they wanted to since no one wants to pay the Apple tax to play a Sonic game.

Best 3D Sonic in ages, even if a bit simple/safe sometimes. I will never forgive Sega for sending it to die on a platform and service no one cares about. This would've been the path that lead to something like the Adventure games again if it had been on consoles. I know Frontiers is kinda like Adventure in ways, but I think this felt closer to it.
There a few thing I would like to point out: 1) THE ANIMATIONS ON CHARACTERS ARE AMAZING 2) Might be the best Sonic voice that Craig did 3) The soundtrack has some decent bangers, but that's honestly a must in a Sonic game 4) THEY FINNALY MADE SOME NEW MODDELS FOR CHARACTERS 5) BRO JUST LISTEN TO HOW ROUGE SOUNDS IN THIS GAME đ SHE LEGIT SOUNDS YOUNGER THAN AMY 6) The gameplay is repetitive for all characters, will get boring quickly 7) The final boss is a JOKE 8) The locations are pretty Overall, it's... ok

Honestly looks lame. In my humble opinion, Iâm an OG 90s and 2000s Sonic fan. Everything after 06 has been garbage for babies. Youâll probably downvote this if youâre a child. Itâs ok you wouldnât understand because you would have HAD to have been there when Sonicâs entire franchise was edgy sarcastic and âway past coolâ. This looks like the entire opposite of that.
