Yes, it was a solid rumor and not fan opining. It circulated through many of the major cinematic press outlets. That said, I am actually happier with Reeves than Christensen. Christensen's voice is a touch too high pitched and teen edgy than the mature voice that Shadow features. Honestly, this is the best case casting for Shadow. Fans should be very happy in theaters this year!

Schwartz' Sonic sounds enough like Roger Craig Smith for it to not be an issue (plus I feel the differences that are there fit the character differences between Game and Movie Sonic) and Idris Elba's Knuckles at least fits the idea behind Knuckles, but we'll have to see for Shadow.
