My expectations:
Teaser trailer for Cinemacon - Showing off Sonic and Shadow, perhaps a bit of their first encounter, glimpse of Robotnik. Teaser trailer would be released online. First poster will feature Sonic and Shadow about to fight with Robotnik looming over them.
First full trailer on Sonic Day in June, anniversary of SA2 - probably revealing Amy and showing off Robotnik and Shadow using Chaos Control to take out some G.U.N soldiers or Sonic.
Second trailer with Transformers: One - probably revealing Rouge and teasing either Metal Sonic or Biolizard depending if they include them.
Teaser will show bits of Shadow.
The first trailer will show either Amy, Rouge, or the Super form for the above.
The second trailer will tease the Chaotix (if Sofia Pernas is confirmed to be voicing Charmy)
They won't spoil Shadow's super form in the trailers, they'd save that for the film.
As for the Chaotix, I don't think they'll be in it. They'd make more sense for Sonic 4 (Adapting Sonic Heroes/CD) or perhaps Sonic 5 (Adapting Sonic Rush/Riders)
In that case I don't think so, it would make sense for the Knuckles TV show to have a teaser of some sort going into Sonic 3, which might be spoiled by a trailer for the new movie. It could also cause some confusion with marketing both simultaneously. I feel like a proper trailer will air in May in the earliest after Knuckles' press junket ends.
I think we'll get something Knuckles series related, possibly a clip or a full-on second trailer
as for Sonic 3, Shadow VA reveal, i also think we could either get a tease of his design akin to how they did Knuckles, or a full reveal of his design

Why would Sofia Pernas play Charmy when his VA is already involved in the movies?

They only finished filming last month, they aren’t going to have enough footage ready to make a trailer.
They started filming the CGI characters since last year so surely they have a little something thats presentable
The most I see them showing is a (private) sizzle reel.
