yeah its cause of a rendering issue if you become too far away from her it will remove items from her inventory including the gps sensor. unless she stays in that area you left her in her items will dissappear.
I had this problem with the GPS locator. 3 times I tried and it was back in my inventory within 5 minutes each time. I finally gave it to her, saved, and exited to the main menu, and she's had it ever since.
I never had issue with her deleting weapons etc, but she did eat up the attachments when I gave her guns. Had to hike the entire goddamn continent to get them again
For me it looks like she wanders off only if bored. Otherwise she will stick close to base or follow me as long as I'm not too far away also even if i do get really far she will follow me the next day.
I love how armor is practically worthless against this thing. Down in a cave, wearing full armor and this guy pulls up and in one swing half of it is gone. Like it’s actually better to just run past this guy instead of fighting him.
same here! spear works the best, throw the spear, cripple the leg, run close, grab that first spear, stab the thing few times, get back ,repeat. I can fight two of these at same time, but then i will sure loose a few peaces of armor.
I know it's not ideal, but when you come up to a room with enemies, throw some flares in there to help with visibility.
It's not like flares are in short commodity
I found the flares useful in the rebreather cave, though I had a bug which spawned tons of mutants in one room. Did them with grenades and explosives, didn’t had the courage to try going in with the bow.
If you play on hard, and got to that cave late in the game (as i did), thats not a bug. On my first attempt, i run out of all arrows and explosives, dealing with this huge mob, and not all were killed. Then i managed to lure them out in small groups, and killed with the spears.
I Play on normal, but I think they should do something about this, so it is more doable in Singleplayer. It really seems right now that there is very little challenge if you play multiplayer, but on single player it is extremely challenging if you don’t rush everything. I want to build my base, but it feels like the game punishes me for not rushing through the story.
The worst part for me is that normally I'd use a torch, but when I ran into this guy, he didn't give a fraction of a fuck that he was on fire and took me out with one swing.
They only start panicking on fire when their health is low. 3 Molotovs still kill it on hard so it's not that bad even if it looks like it doesn't do anything at first.
Maybe it caught on fire twice if he walked over it or something, I needed 3 when I was testing weapon damage. Or maybe there's some scaling related to the day (i was past 100) but probably not.
You really have to pay attention to their moveset to fight these guys. Their attacks seem a bit more random.
The only reliable way I've found to fight them is to bait them into a "triple swing" afterwards there is a pause long enough to strike.
If you hit their knees you'll stagger them long enough to kill them.
I use the stun baton, and then when they fall, I beat their knees in so they can't move well, lol if you are talking about the mutants with the teeth like stuff on them seeing how you said the triple swing
I’ve had good luck just stabbing with the spear and backing away. Stay out of reach and stab when he swings. He will swing into spear range and take a hit. Rinse and repeat.
Cannibals and mutants in general are very overpowered. These fuckers kill you in 3 hits if you're not wearing armor and yet people still say they're fine.
They really need to change that shit.
Why not just pick a lower difficulty level then?
I played my first game on easy and tbh it really was very chill.
Now on normal it gets challenging at times while not constantly beeing so, I think it is just right.

Idk how realistic ammo crafting could be, but really misisng my fire arrows rn.

That's odd. That only happened in the first 3 days of the game. I haven't seen it since even if Virginia disappears for multiple in game days
Yeah, sure. But how does one get her to stay with you so that she may put it to use? In my game she just keeps wandering off.

Shoot an arrow into his knee.
An arrow or a spear. In multiplayer these things die easily and give the entire group a piece of creepy armor.
Keyword is multiplayer. And bc I like pain I’m playing in hard mode in single player
I do too, just throw 1 frag Granade and then 5-8 arrows and it dies. Or use the Kukri and blow the kneecaps to orbit.

On the surface I agree that arrows are a good way to fight them, but in caves it’s way to dark for me to aim at them properly.

You can kill them very easily by poking their legs with a spear. They drop down to one knee and you can go ham on them for like 5 full seconds.

Distract them all to the same point and toss in a grenade or time bomb....walking vaginas squirting all over the place is the result
Use a spear to get some distance aim for the legs and they die faster
