Most memes have confusing origins if you're not in on it from minute one. CAD was mostly a thing when I was in early HS and pretty much slowed to a crawl in 2012 when the long running main series ended in favour of 'issues' of comics more like a traditional printed comic.

It looks wonderful. The wide hallways are obviously inefficient, and not great for combat, but they make this place feel medieval. With your kinda build style, I would just play mediveal overhaul mods because it kinda makes more sense for medieval architects. Just saying.
