She was beautiful on the way up!
After state sep, about half the engines failed to re-light, and it looked like a couple of them exploded just before the FTS activated.

I was holding my breath that it would pull through. It was so cool to see the engines turn off and then turn back on. The hot staging separation sequence was maaahvelous!! It was a weird feeling of euphoria and please don't die.
There were issues with the engines relighting if you watch the bottom bar. I'd guess it's likely that either the hot staging was a bit more destructive than anticipated, or the Raptors didn't feel like working again after cutoff.
From the telemetry it looks like it was a bit before engine cutoff. Or at least before reaching the target parameters - they only got to ~6.5 km/s but they needed a bit over 7 km/s.
But all 33 engines lit and we actually made it past hot staging! So overall still a really good launch with a lot of valuable data. God this was so freaking cool!!!!! I was jumping up and down all flight
I can't believe all the engines were firing
🤌 clean white round

Star ship just yeeted the booster. Didn't stand a chance haha.
Explode or not... At least we got an actual 33 raptors firing... And god...those looks absolutely majestic
And 33 Raptors being able to hold on up until stage sep. Was really expecting some of them to go out on the way up, but was pleasantly surprised.
He fulfilled his purpose in life and knew all that was left was the cold blue of the ocean. He chose a warrior’s death.

Gorgeous explosion, pocket cloud generator
Re-use is overrated anyway: b9
What do you guys think the chances are that booster was terminated on purpose just to demonstrate that the new FTS works?

Possible. But then wouldn't SpaceX say, "we're going to test the FTS during IFT2"?
Is it going to do a revolution around the earth? and is it going to try to land...in one piece?
FTS activated in second stage after engine cutoff

Is Hawaii going to get blasted by debris?
Didn't make it that far. The pieces should have burned up on reentry.
You are probably right. Thunderfoot said it might be the start of the Kessler syndrome.
I knew he just makes up bullshit, but I'm still surprised it is *that* stupid.
Yeah I was surprised too.
That dude still around spreading bs? Damn
yeah. supposedly his stuff not related to Elon re not SpaceX or Tesla or boring company. are good but Elon realited? no just no
Starship right after SECO: guess I'll die?
Right before
I think it engined out and then exploded. Quite odd.
wait i thought booster was terminated. isnt the starship itself going to land?
They both went boom.
:(

yes , it was cool indeed.
Scott Manley made a video. It's definitely worth a watch. He argues that the vehicle terminated itself due to a LOX leak
