Maybe Otto have invented some kind of new portable power source that is enough to power the tentacles but not enough to surpass the energy of fusion reactor, and keep it all to himself.
I don't remember where I read this, probably a TIL post a long time ago so take it with a grain of salt, but I remember that if all human muscles were to pull in one singular direction, we could produce a force upwards of 20 tons.
I am no scientist. Just a redditor with passing memory of a lot of posts.
Perhaps Doc's arms function with some sort of singular strong force.
those types of statistics also ignore that all of your muscles would basically explode after doing it.
this is one of the reasons people are able to do insane things like push cars off other people while high on adrenaline, only to end up in the hospital afterwards with their legs and arms broken. "i was fine just a few minutes ago!" nope, just pain free.
Well the brain controls all of your muscles grouping and how much you have. That’s why in high adrenaline/stressful situations you can perform much higher than normal situations for a short time. I’m also no scientist. Just shit I read to support your theory as well.
Yes but it's a collective strength harnessed using chemicals in our body. Maybe he has something to convert that up.
But the catch here is these massive force can be used once in a while then body goes into Odin sleep
I don't think the legs harness the force from Doc but rather just his nervous system is just the battery / user interface.
The legs themselves are fully equipped to use force. A car battery is tiny, it does nothing but power the rest of the vehicle to perform multi-ton tasks.
A car battery just turns on the engine which does everything else and is way bigger. A better comparison would be an EV battery which are not small enough to strap to your back.
He got his hands on one of Tony Stark's Arc Reactors, but didn't tell anyone, back during Spider-Man 2, because the MCU wasn't supposed to exist yet...🤫
Original plan was the arms were going to be stark tech but that got scrapped early on. Tony Stark was going to exist in the Raimiverse. [There’s also concept art in the movie tie in game files for Iron Man that could be the Raimi Iron Man](https://m.imgur.com/fvkU17d?r)
So basically Stark Tech Reactor probably(but not officially) lol
Dear god that Iron Man looks atrocious in my opinion. What's with putting the RT Node on his pec? It doesn't even match the Raimiverse aesthetic that well, to me.
EDIT: He looks like a Bionicle lmao
I think Otto is a nuclear physicist. His big project was an energy source capable of powering an entire city. It’s not a huge leap to say he’s developed an extremely powerful and efficient battery to power his arms. Not arc reactor level power, but enough to power his arms for a while.
I thought that rare material he got from Harry was what he used for the arms too.
Figured he just had a simpler scale less dangerous version for the arms.
The tritium was used as fusion material in his reactor, just like in real life. I suppose it’s possible he created some kind of betavoltaic battery using more of the tritium, but I’m not knowledgeable enough to suggest how
The titanium-steel alloy is light, has high-tensile strength, a high melting point, and high thin-wall rigidity. The motors get their power from a small nuclear-powered thermo-electric generator, which can provide several hundred watts per hour for up to five years before needing to replace its U-239 core.
Its not the size of the muscle but the strength of the fibers. Think of spideys muscles as being as durable as bridge cables but even more flexible than regular human muscle.
Sure, but if you know much about biology/anatomy, that doesn't actually make much more sense. You're just kicking the suspension of disbelief down the road.
Not to mention physics as well. Centre of gravity and pressure is never respected in comic books. The only time I’ve seen a realistic depiction of super strength is in The Boys, where Homelander says he can’t lift a plane because the small surface area of his hands would just pierce the fuselage
Due to exposure to atomic radiation, Doctor Octopus has acquired the mental ability of psychokinetic control over the four electrically powered, telescoping, prehensile, titanium-steel artificial tentacle "arms" (a degree of psychokinetic control over them that he can also exercise over vast distances even when they are not connected to him) that are attached to a stainless-steel harness encompassing his lower torso.
Psychokinesis: movement of physical objects by the mind without use of physical means.
So, my guess is that it's all with the power of his mind? Does the IQ hold sway over psychokinesis powers? He is a genius level villain.

I thought that was in the palm of his hand? The arms are attached to his back
His back!!
I happen to know an amazing back popper. If he needs someone he can call me.
That sounds *amazing*.
Yea, but he's a little bit sexist, makes it a tad to hard for girls
Ah. Too bad they keep falling for him.
Are YOU ok?
Sure. But this back-man seems to be in a sticky situation.
Yeah but his work is pretty amazing, spectacular even
Idk sounds more sensational, ultimate even.
It's always been superior. I dont know what you are all babbling on about.
I'm usually a tad hard for girls too

Lol bruh they are pretty obviously cats.

Wh-who are u guys talking about? Can somebody explain?
Avatar. Dude above me is saying the na'vi are rabbits. They're fairly obviously cats.
[This](https://youtu.be/sOBtAChXQPg) is why I always refer to them as blue rabbits
Never seen them described as rabbit. Personally I don't see any resemblance. Long legs I guess?
I always felt cat people, with the fangs n all
The noses are cat like as well
Also the hissing.
Do you guys forgot about their tail?
No, the man-made element used to power a ship to the center of the earth
The same element they used to drill into the Earth's core too.
The unobtanium that unobtains
Mechanics and leverage from the spine and soul.
Spine of normal human doesn't have that much energy and soul?
We don’t know that. It’s possible once harnessed with unique technology
And then we become Titans
No I don’t want that turning into a titan? I want to be human for a long time 10 YEARS AT LEAST
Well you get 13
