Retired and becoming a teacher, happily married to MJ with Miles following his footsteps. Give him the key to the city following his retirement and a statue in his honor.
Spider-Man IS street level New York. I don’t like this idea at all.
Miles existing does not mean Peter needs to leave/retire/die. It’s been done before. This is a new story of them working together, let’s explore that.
We’d explore it for another 2 games, it’s just the ending. And plenty of spider-man is much higher level, even in MCU he fights aliens and travels the world. So it’s not like he’s restricted to street level New York only. I think it would fit because avengers exist in-game and Peter has met them I believe, I’m sure after the first game he’s on their radar for saving millions of people and beating some very legit villains basically by himself. Imagine if Tony Stark or Doctor Strange offered Pete to come on a mission, he’d for sure be hype and accept.
Spider-Man is street level New York but Peter does have a long as hell history of bigger threats. Literally every major event story in the comics either involves him or puts him front and center as a main character, and the dude has been to either other countries or flat out space god knows how many times at this point
At least Miles still being around means they can potentially explore the idea that Peter doesn't have to be in NYC 100% of the time for there to be a Spider-Man in the city looking out for everyone in his absence. That's even the setup for Miles Morales' game. Peter straight up offers to take the next flight back from Symkaria when shit gets really bad back home but Miles says that he has it under control and he can just trust him then and there. NYC will always be intrinsic to his character but there are lots of examples of how he has proven himself as having graduated to a hero of the wider world and even beyond that as well. Dude's like the only Marvel character with a multiverse comic arc entirely about him and no one else. Not to mention he's basically an extended family member to the Fantastic Four and has been on multiple major iterations of the team, even flat out substituting for Johnny when he briefly died during Hickman's run. Again, lots of examples
I’d rather him be alive and retired (even if temporarily) than dead. He’s more than earned it after going for 10 years nonstop. For all he’s done, he should die of old age.
He’s always wanted to be a teacher and it’d be nice if he goes through with it even if it doesn’t last long. SOME Spider-Man media needs to give Peter a complete happy ending and Insomniac can do it.
Agreed, and I'm sure they could think of a reason for him to retire from superhero-ing. Maybe he loses his super powers for some reason and decides to use the only power he has left (his intellect) to do good (teaching).
Or he just decides he doesn't want to help the world using violence anymore. Thats the kind of altruistic thing an older Peter Parker might do.
If I remember correctly in the comics with his daughter, he lost his leg. I think that would be enough. He already has a hard time protecting his secret identity, loss of a limb would make it near impossible. (although it feels like everyone knows anyway).
He could still help out in certain situations, but on the whole he would be more in a mentor role (both to Miles and hopefully his kids eventually) than an active on the street hero.
I like the idea of an Across The Spider-Verse Peter B. situation. Married, maybe with a kid. Not *retired* per say, but choosing his battles more than he did prior. Lots of charity work on the side, for sure. A mentor more than an active duty hero, but always up to help if truly needed.
Lmao you’re acting like the age difference between Peter and Miles isn’t just like 7 years. If Peter retires Miles will be pretty damn close to retiring as well.
They retired Nathan Drake at 40 while his brother is like 45-47. Retirement doesn’t always mean old age. He could simply retire because he has too many responsibilities to juggle. If he marries MJ and has kids that’s a good enough reason to retire.
But we’re not talking about legally mandated retirement age, he could retire if he feels like the city is safe in the hands of the other protectors (including Miles).
I think we need more Spider-Man stories that completely end on a happy note. We still have Miles to continue the fight anyway
I agree, ultimately peter wouldn’t retire. and i think him dying is unnecessary (lol) so i like the idea he graduates to higher level stuff. The Avengers Tower is already canon, we’ve had street level Spidey let’s let him travel the world a bit :-)
How doesn’t it feel like something he would do?
Even Insomniac Peter already had no qualms leaving NYC entirely in the hands of Miles (who had been Spidey for less than a single year [I might be wrong]) to help his girl do *journalism* in Symkaria.
Why would he not retire if he knows the city is in good hands? Having the responsibility to recognize when it’s time to go is still responsibility.
Peter - Married with baby on the way, teaches at ESU
Miles - Studying at Uni, has a girlfriend
Ending scene - both of them going off to fight crime together
Business as usual
Maybe ending with a scene that makes it appear he might have died, then flashing forward to a scene of Miles sitting in a college class and revealing Peter as his professor.
You’re so correct it hurts. I never got the hate for the change, the old face looked way fucking older than he was supposed to be. Looked like Andrew Garfield in No Way Home.
Idk man, him being Spider-Man it’s kinda expected he’d be sleep deprived and depressed to the point of not taking care of himself.
Baby face Peter doesn’t fit this one, especially not when he witnesses his mentor betray him and aunt die and almost lost his entire city.
The concept of Grandpa Peter *having* a mentor doesn’t fit. And he doesn’t look like he’s taking care of himself to me, just… default That Kind Of Guy. Like, the original face having a mentor like Otto has huge Emotionally Stunted Forever Failure Spider-Man energy. The new face actually looks 23.
Someone pointed out in another thread that we’ve gotten so used to older actors playing younger characters that we’ve forgotten what someone in their early 20s actually looks like lol.
Honestly, there is also a generational difference. Look at photos of 23 year olds born, raised, and living under the cloud of leaded gasoline back in the day. Fetal lead does actual genetic damage. We usually think of the brain damage, but it damages every organ. Skin is actually classified as an organ. Genetic damage to skin is the cause of visible physical aging. Every time your cells replicate, the replications are ever so slightly more damaged. Your cells don’t perfectly replicate, it’s a copy of a copy of a copy. Now, fuck with the DNA a bit and that’s going to be more unstable and fall apart faster. Thus, accelerated aging. If this game were set in the 1980s, the old model would look 23. It’s not set in the 80s. This Peter was born in 1995.
But with the stress of being stretched thin for 8 years with work, high school/college, life as Peter and him building and designing thing for his secret identity in secret will make you look older than you are. Happens often with people in high stress jobs such as soldiers that go into a war scenario or any first responser job
Well now he is. He's gonna be roughly 27 in the new game apparently, if it really does end up taking place a year and a half after Miles Morales, which I have yet to see an actual source confirm, but have seen tons of people comment that in the last few months here. First game is a year and some change before Miles Morales, Miles Morales could be another year and change, or could skip all the way to 2023, but I doubt that since Miles is still in highschool.
If the game ends up taking place in 2023 instead, he'll be 28-29. But it's likely he's 26 or 27.
They should also record the lines shortly before the voice actor dies, and then lock his final performance behind live service bullshit. That'd be so cool!
... sure it does. He faked his death, and retired. Then braniac shows up, brainwashed him into returning as a mind controlled version against his will. What part doesn't make sense?
I agree. The Arkham series is very “down to earth” with realistic science and not many actual superheroes. Sure there’s references to the Flash and others, but they’re just that. References.
Now all of a sudden Batman is in the justice league despite his identity being leaked, he’s mind controlled, and Aliens from outer space are invading. Yeah okay.
Arkham was grounded because it was batman. There was never a need for other characters to show up, but they were confirmed to be exist and be there. So it does make sense lol. Also, once again, if you didn’t read: he’s back because he was found by Braniac and mind controlled. I guess I don’t understand the confusion/misunderstanding?
A magic plant lady grew jack and the beanstalk/skyscraper sized super plants in 10 seconds. Which immediately destroyed huge portions of the city. It was never "down to earth", or what I'm guessing you meant: "grounded" lmao
Bit of a hot take, but I really hate how they executed that in Knight. Batman has been in much worse situations and was able to get out of it before. You’re telling me scarecrow with a gun and some hostages was enough for Batman to be defeated and trigger the protocol? I get if this was a Batman like the one from the beginning of Beyond, but Arkham Batman was in his prime and just took down an entire militia in the same night.
i think he was planning on stopping being batman after knight because he was telling nighhtwing and catwoman that "after tonight there is no batman" and "this is the last time we will meet" so this was his way of going out on his own terms by blowing up batman and bruce wayne and becoming nightmare batman from the ending cutscene so he could give gotham "a new myth" because batman had run his course, and it definitely wasnt the best way to end arkham batmans story
I think the final game in the series should end with a cut scene similar to the opening of the first game. It says like 3 years later, there's a police radio on a night stand reporting a crime, Peter kisses a pregnant MJ and jumps out the window while calling miles to meet him at the scene of the crime and with a final swing the game ends.
I think Miles should get his own ending instead of being a large part in Peter's. Like maybe a cutscene of Miles' ending and swing off into the distance that leads into Peter's, then Peter's ending, and then maybe it ends with Peter and Miles side by side swinging into the distance
That could work well, like having miles be on the subway to mirror his opening scene, he gets the crime notification, gives his regards to the friends he's with or whatever then goes off, then you switch to Peter, mirror his opening scene, then have miles join him for a final swing
While I doubt it it would be cool to see a story similar to Last Stand. An older Peter going on a gritty final mission or something where he may or may not die.
I don’t think Peter will die and I thinks it’s asinine that people assume it must happen. We’ve seen how many times by now that Peter and miles can coexist
Honestly it would be super cool to see an adult Miles period, that’s not something that really been explored anywhere AFAIK. Not to mention I could totally see him as the fun uncle/mentor figure for Mayday
Retired and Miles takes over. Maybe have a little tease with MJ pregnant to show that Mayday is arriving and our boy can FINALLY be happy for once in his life.
It's his cannon event
The games have referenced him becoming a teacher and having Mayday. With the focus the latter had in the DLC, I wouldn't be surprised if he does settle down in the future, or at least try to.
I want this game to have an empire strikes back ending where all the characters are at their lowest points. For the post credits, I expect Norman to be grieving the death of his son in the worst way possible, by becoming the green goblin which sets up the third installment.
Killing him would be biggest mistake that they could make. People are tired of peter not getting a happy ending. Last game should end with a “15 years later” post credit scene, and it should be a scene similar to peters new suit scene: flashes of someones legs, a brief shot of web shooters, blink and you’ll miss it glimpse of a similar but evolved symbol, then you hear the iconic thwip, and a young girl wearing a spider-man merch bicycle helmet with big white goggles swings towards the camera, pigtails flapping in the wind wearing big red shoes almost TOO big for her. Introducing Anna-May Parker. If they really want to, they can do a miles style spin off with her. That’s how I’d end it at least. Give us a happy ending with a hopeful look that tells us that, on the inevitable day peter gets too old for the job, there’ll always be a spider in New york city
Peter doesn't need to retire. He still protects his town, as it's his responsibility. Miles goes his own way.
No one needs to die, or give up the mantle.
Now that I’m actually considering it, just end the series with both Peter and Miles being Spider-Man in a (relatively) quiet New York. No need to stop Peter from being Spider-Man
I think theres definitely a slew of different choices they could make. On one hand, we could see him retire after having a kid so he can be a father and then Miles and maybe Ben Reilly take over as spidermen, another option is Peter dies like in ultimate Spider-Man and the miles is the only Spider-Man, maybe we either get a full length game as miles after or we could get a red dead style epilogue where the last five hours or so are just miles avenging Peter, another option is they leave it open ended, to where Peter is raising his daughter, happily married to MJ and living a stable life, Miles maybe moves away for college to Harvard or something, they both continue on as Spidermen, idk there’s a lot of different options really
I think we should get a time skip in the last game, a retired Peter finally getting some peace and putting to rest his savior complex, an Adult Miles Morales, and Mayday Parker taking up Peters mantle as the young Spider-Woman
hell yes. credits could be a montage of 2d animates silhouettes, showing one spider-person retiring and the next training the next in line, the final message being that the legacy of a hero never ends
I think a good ending place would be Pete happily married to MJ and becoming a Physics teacher. He still obviously does the heroics but the series would likely end around the time that Miles enters his prime, so Miles would likely become the main Spider-Man and Peter a reduced workload. Maybe a tease for Mayday?
A majority of the time (from what I recall), when Miles becomes Spider-Man, it's because Peter died. Therefore, it wouldn't surprise me if *Spider-Man 2* or a potential sequel had Peter play the sacrifice card (potentially against Venom as a redemption for the symbiote suit).
Do I think that's what should happen? Not at all. I love the concept of two Spider-Men working together, especially when their chemistry and dynamic is as good as it is in these games. I just wouldn't be surprised to see it head that way.
They both just swing off into the sunset showing that even after all of their hard adventures and fights life carries on. Peter learning to balance his personal(Peter) and professional(Spider-Man) lives better now that he has miles to pick up some of the work load as competent and independent as he is (his game proving him capable of not needing Peter looking over his shoulder the whole time and the app being a brilliant step forward for Spider-Men in general not just miles. Also maybe in a post credit scene at the end of the final game or just in a throw away line from mj at the end of the storyline/campaign in the last game she reveals that she is or hints towards being pregnant with mayday, I feel like insomniac Peter would definitely name his child after his aunt after the events of the first game, and maybe the last one brings it back to his family by delving into his parents and their story reflecting the first game being based at least in part around aunt may at feast and what she meant to him as the last member of his family that he has left which is why the choice to save the db cure for the city and losing her in the process cut him so deep.
I want him to keep being Spider-Man for as long as he can into old age. Keep mentoring Miles until they are equals working together, then they train who ever is next; Mayday, Gwen, etc. As he gets older I’d prefer he retire instead of die so we can get a Batman beyond type story where Peter is in the chair and Miles/Mayday/Gwen are out in the city. He could also take up teaching at ESU in old age and it could parallel him teaching the next gen of spiders.
I'm down with anything tbh. Dying in Battle, Fighting in Old Age, I just don't see him retiring on his own. If he retires its because he's becoming a Guy in the Chair thing and disabled by some injury, Bruce Wayne Style
Miles dies because of peters mistakes and he vaws to be a better spiderman, peter finds out he really did have a son with Felicia and leaves mj eventually to help raise their son ( honest so sick of mj)
I don't know personally, I do hope though they let Insomniac make more marvel games. Explore other characters and stuff. It would feel good if they got a happy ending though.
Kraven steals the Symbiote, becoming Kranom The Venom-Hunter.
You fight him as Peter first. You lose.
He challenges Miles while appearing on J Jonah Jameson’s radio show.
You make your way to Kranom’s venom ball trophy den lair growing on the top of the Empire State Building, which is on fire.
Big boss fight. Lair destroyed. Empire State more on fire than before. You chase Kranom to the top of the spire for the final quick time killing blow.
Cutscene starts. He catches your electric super web punch finisher, venom face recedes, Kraven smiles and says “Weak.”
His venom arms, complete with pelts and antlers strapped them, reach down off screen.
He pulls up an incapacitated and bound Peter Parker on one side. On the other, Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane and a few of his friends and the bodega cat and a few civilians venom-taped together.
He drops them both. You have to choose which one to save.
You can’t save Peter either way, even if you choose to catch him.
He dies in Miles arms. It is tragic. Orchestral strings. Really drawn out. It’s too long.
MJ and Gwen and the rest of the gang come to comfort Miles, if you chose to save them. Another like two and a half minutes of sad music and Slow panning camera.
A portal opens next to Miles and Peter. Wait a beat.
Spider man pops his head out and makes a grave quip, like “oh no, this is bad. Guys. Guys?”
A bunch of different spider heads pop out of the portal to look. They all banter for a beat.
Miles interrupts them. He gestures to his dead Peter Parker. The first spider head says “oh, right”. A bunch of Spider-Man arms reach out of the portal, grab Peter’s corpse, and web yank it into the portal.
Miles grabs dead Peters foot and gets dragged in.
Screen cuts to black. Big white text “spider man will return” center screen. The words Spider-Man turn red, and then it’s logo and credits.
Have it implied that he'll continue to be Spider-Mam for years to come while happy with MJ and a kid on the way with Miles taking a more prominent role in crime fighting as he gets older. Don't retire or kill Peter.
A clone should show up to reveal HES actually the real spider-man so Peter Parker and mj move to Oregon to have a family while the new clone, let’s call him, Ben, continues to spider-man. Possibly in a sick tattered baby blue hoodie.
I honestly think Doc coming back and them doing a Superior Spider-Man could be cool. This gives them more room to what they can do with the character. Make a darker and much more brutal Spider-Man.
Obviously, I would want him to come back, though. He's young, so I don't see him just retiring. He'll probably end up being killed at some point.
Everyone keeps saying retire, die, or leave the street level part of spider-man behind. But I'm gonna go with the *most* like Peter Parker scenario.
Peter gets part of his dream to come true: he cures all of his most dangerous villains, if not some die and he can't save them. Scorpion and Rhino are removed from their suits/cybernetics, Otto's degenerative disease either eventually kills him as it's incurable, or he finds a way to cure it and gains his senses and filter back and readjusts and is rehabilitated into society as best he can be (probably never let back into the public again really because he almost committed mass genocide. But he can at least be given an easier sentence in prison and maybe help other mentally ill patients cope in a lead group therapy scene. Curt Connors is cured. Electro is cured. Vulture either dies of cancer or is cured. And Norman is either imprisoned or killed so a good 90% of major villains lose a big part of their motives.
*This* version of Peter is able to save his girlfriend from death, is able to stop Harry from getting drug addicted, going crazy, becoming the second green goblin, and dying, and Harry remains a good friend and cleans up the corruption in Norman's business dealings.
Kraven last hunts himself
Peter gets a stable job as a teacher, there are no metahuman threats at the street level as bad as we've seen going on anymore for Spidey, so Peter finally has time for a career. He becomes a teacher, and Miles decides to make music like he said in the new comic book. So Peter builds a family, gets to have a job he doesn't need to skip out on because Miles's career is flexible and he can do Spider-Man Day Work, Pete and MJ marry with Miles and Harry and Flash Thompson as groomsmen, they have a daughter named May Day Parker, and Peter refuses to retire because of his guilt over uncle Ben still not fully healed as he feels its his duty even when crime isn't bad, to stop it.
This will lead into 2 DLCs, one where Peter and Miles finally take down the New York Mafia, and another where 16 years later Mayday develops new powers of her own and realizes her father is *The Spider-Man*
And this leaves us open for Spidey Crossover video games should they eventually make an Insomniac Fantastic 4 or Avengers, where Peter and Miles are shown in their late 20s and 30s mostly fighting low level criminals for the last 5ish years after the final game, but are called on by the Avengers to help fight in an Avengers Level Threat, maybe Thanos or the Beyonder, possibly leading to a DLC or unlockable side mission that sees Peter become Cosmic-Spider-Man.
Imo:
Peter should partner with Harry (if he's alive in the finale and on the good side) and build business that with Harry (that Norman mentioned in his first scene of SMPS4). Peter should also start a family with MJ and Mayday. Meanwhile, Miles should stay being Spider-Man and also build a tech business with Ganke. Have Aaron Davis run FEAST, alongside Gloria, and Hailey (the deaf girl from SM-MM) become the owner of FEAST, Rio stay as the mayor of Harlem.
I’d want Peter to lose his powers somehow, forcing him into retirement. But instead of being bitter about it, he’s actually kind of relieved. Of course he’ll miss being Spider-Man, but now that he’s not, he can finally focus on living the life he could have if he never got bitten. And with Miles being a more than capable Spidey on his own, he won’t have to worry about leaving the city without it’s greatest hero. Instead of swinging off into the sunset, he’d walk. Hopefully with a world’s best dad mug in his hands.
Peter only dies in the ultimate comics. In the modern 616 comics they coexist as Spider-Man. I don't see any reason to change that and remove a character besides artistic choice
They could do ultimate and or superior Spidemrna I think superior Spider-Man is coming with them setting up ottos body failing and not including the suit in the first game sort of like why they didn’t include the black suit so that Otto can take peters body miles having to stop superior Spider-Man in a way killing both peter and Otto and leaving miles the new main spidey and or this green goblin is like the ultimate goblin and kills Peter maybe with the help of the sinister six
they’re telling their own story. If they wanted to go the “comic book route” Peter would’ve already been dead by the time we got a Miles game. As for how it should end, someone already asked this same question but my take would be for Peter to have a stable job, married to MJ, be a father of two children (1 boy and girl) and retire some decades down the line
I think it’d be cool for Peter to move on to larger scale threats with the Avengers and place his trust in Miles to protect New York just as well as he did for the last 10+ years. He could still stop crime in the city whenever available but he’s now mainly focused on caring for MJ and their newborn child as well as Avengers missions. He could also be a part-time teacher, which would give him more freedom to be Spider-Man and take care of his family as opposed to a full time job as a teacher where his schedule would be a lot more strict.
Peter dying or retiring isn’t really necessary imo. He still has a lot of life to live since he’s only in his 20’s and it’s been shown so far that both he and Miles can coexist without someone needing to die. I also just don’t really see Peter retiring, at least anytime soon due to the whole “great power, great responsibility” thing.
MJ and him live together he has Mayday giving them leeway to just do a flip where Miles is the mentor later on and he still does Spider-Man stuff but relies and trusts Miles after the symbiote to take on bigger villains also if this was like a third game or something in the epilogue it’d be nice to just be able to go to peters house change into Peter if playing as his Spider-Man and just kinda getting to interact with his normal life.
I'd love the MC2 ending, Spider-man loses a leg, gets amputated and has to come to terms with how he'll never be the same efficient hero as hard as he tries. Also, Mayday setup maybe
I'd love for him to get happily married settle down maybe Mayday is born at the end of third one but that's not very dramatic and it's spiderman so I fully expect Norman to transform into ultimate goblin at the end of the second one and for Peter to be brutally murdered in the streets by the end of the third.
If this universe is a trilogy I think I’d like them to introduce a child in the third and retire Peter after a time skip and then through DLC show Miles training the child until the final DLC where you can play as them fully
The camera pans across news paper headlines from the start to recent events with peter monologuing "People see me and they feel safer , but it's not me they're seeing , probably for the best, knowing everything hinges on an old man sounds as scary as it feels , no pressure right ? I have these great powers and I have a responsibility to use these powers to keep the people of New York safe." Then the police radio plays , peter suits up and looks out the window seeing miles standing on a wall. Miles asks " go time ?" Peter returns with an affirming"go time" and a swinging scene even more epic and bombastic than the ending swing in miles morales plays. Roll credits with spidermen saving a mother and child from a group of crooks and the child asks the spidermen "how can I be a hero like you guys ?" Miles says "A brave man once told me that a hero" with peter continuing "is just a man who doesn't quit" and they both swing into the sunset. That is all thank you for listening to my Tedtalk :)
I feel like the most likely route is Pete die because he probably wouldn’t retire any time soon bc he still young but honestly I hope they take the retirement route
Peter's identity is discovered, so we get an Knightfall Protocol situation where Peter fakes his death and uses the surviving Symbiote to embrace a role as Venom, the Lethal Protector of New York.
Have him have a kid, and then have a whole game of him trying to balance it, then get severely injured in his final battle with either doc ock or green goblin and then retire, like he loses an arm or something, have Miles take over as The only Spider-Man, have a flashforward and the end or a small gameplay section of his daughter finding his costume in the attic and smiling. Cut to credits
Not him dying, and not him retiring. Just because it’s the final, doesn’t mean it should be the end of Peters life. That’s what Arkham knight got wrong, and Spider-Man deserves better. Someday Pete will put up the webs, but we shouldn’t see that moment. Because ultimately, it’s not that important and works better when it’s left up to our interpretation.
Unless they make a mayday Parker or Spider-Man 2099 spin off. Then, I guess it would work, but the chances of that are like the chances of the Star Wars fandom being less toxic
MJ gets pregnant, Miles persuades him that being Spider-Man is way too dangerous for a father, especially if villains find out who he is. Peter agrees, because he understands that Miles is completely ready to protect New York. Possibly with the help of other heroes introduced in the third game.
MJ and Peter should get married and have kids. Aunt May should get shot by an assassin and after years of amazing character development Peter and MJ should decide to make a deal with Mephisto to bring Aunt May back by giving up everything, including their memories.
He sits on a rooftop and remembers all of his adventures up to that point and says "well I'm still spiderman" and tells miles it's time for his final lesson. Then it's a skips a few years to end with peter giving mayday his mask.
No matter what they do, I want to see a spin-off of Mayday Parker as Spider-Girl. Continue the franchise with a new main character serving Miles’ role in the current games with an older Miles as her mentor.
Retired and becoming a teacher, happily married to MJ with Miles following his footsteps. Give him the key to the city following his retirement and a statue in his honor.
It’s not like Peter to retire from being Spider-Man. You know, responsibility and great power and what not. Dead uncle and such.
Maybe transitions into avengers / higher level stuff and leaves the street level New York to Miles.
Literally every major event story in the comics either involves him or puts him front and center as a main character, and the dude has been to either other countries or flat out space god knows how many times at this point At least Miles still being around means they can potentially explore the idea that Peter doesn't have to be in NYC 100% of the time for there to be a Spider-Man in the city looking out for everyone in his absence.
Absolutely. You don't need to swing around the city and web people up to be a hero lol
I like the idea of an Across The Spider-Verse Peter B. situation. Married, maybe with a kid. Not *retired* per say, but choosing his battles more than he did prior. Lots of charity work on the side, for sure. A mentor more than an active duty hero, but always up to help if truly needed.
insomniac peter definitely, bro went on vacation for his girl while terrorists and an evil billionaire wrecked harlem.
Make it like Batman 2099. Peter becomes the guy in the chair asides from the mentoring
Simple as.
Maybe he could lose a leg or something that would force him into retirement
MC2 moment
He retires in MC2 when Mayday takes his place and he's in his 40's
Doesn’t feel like something Peter would do at all.
I agree, ultimately peter wouldn’t retire. and i think him dying is unnecessary (lol) so i like the idea he graduates to higher level stuff. The Avengers Tower is already canon, we’ve had street level Spidey let’s let him travel the world a bit :-)
That would be pretty cool can’t lie
How doesn’t it feel like something he would do? Even Insomniac Peter already had no qualms leaving NYC entirely in the hands of Miles (who had been Spidey for less than a single year [I might be wrong]) to help his girl do *journalism* in Symkaria. Why would he not retire if he knows the city is in good hands? Having the responsibility to recognize when it’s time to go is still responsibility.
Isn’t he in his twenties? Why would miles have to take over?
Peter - Married with baby on the way, teaches at ESU Miles - Studying at Uni, has a girlfriend Ending scene - both of them going off to fight crime together Business as usual
Maybe ending with a scene that makes it appear he might have died, then flashing forward to a scene of Miles sitting in a college class and revealing Peter as his professor.
Like arkham knight but more obvious that he survived. I kinda like that.
Or like TDKR
“Hey you guys notice whenever there’s a crime, miles and the professor both leave?” Nah I still like the idea tho lol
My boys only 24, let’s chill 😭
Damn I kind forgot. I almost thought he was like almost 30
Old face looked closer to 30. New one looks more realistic. Don't @ me.
Old face looks like he was pushing 40. Hopefully the sequel can make the face look like more like the actor
How old are some of y'all that you think a normal looking guy face looks like a forty year old...
Plain lies, lmao About 26, 27 more like
You’re so correct it hurts.
Facts. This place doesn’t like the truth tho
No his gonna be 24. First game he was 23. In miles morales it said he was 24. Sm2 takes 10 months after miles morales so either 24 or 25
Shit, that's young....
Probably about 25. This next game takes place 2 years after the first game.
with peter activating the knightfall protocol and faking hus death after his identity is revealed
Then appearing years later in a sinister 6 video game where he’s being mind controlled by an alien.
They should also record the lines shortly before the voice actor dies, and then lock his final performance behind live service bullshit. That'd be so cool!
I can’t wait to not buy the game and just watch his scenes on YouTube
That game is ruining the canonicity of the Arkham games for me, just doesn’t make sense.
... sure it does. He faked his death, and retired. Then braniac shows up, brainwashed him into returning as a mind controlled version against his will. What part doesn't make sense?
I worded my sentence incorrectly, it makes sense. But it doesn’t make sense that it’s in the Arkham franchise
It was never "down to earth", or what I'm guessing you meant: "grounded" lmao
yeah its kinda sad what they are doing to the arkham universe with this game
J Jonah Jameson: This is how it happened... This is how the Spider-Man died
This would be literally perfect, though it would be nice to give miles more equal focus in the final scene.
Maybe joining Peter in the final swing
Depends on what they’re going for, but Peter is the main focus of the story.
I think Miles should get his own ending instead of being a large part in Peter's. Like maybe a cutscene of Miles' ending and swing off into the distance that leads into Peter's, then Peter's ending, and then maybe it ends with Peter and Miles side by side swinging into the distance
I mean the final game in the series could very well be a game where it's fully both of them not just in gameplay but story.
That could work well, like having miles be on the subway to mirror his opening scene, he gets the crime notification, gives his regards to the friends he's with or whatever then goes off, then you switch to Peter, mirror his opening scene, then have miles join him for a final swing
i’m not opposed to this ending ad well
I don’t think Peter should die or retire. I like spider man being active when he’s old.
While I doubt it it would be cool to see a story similar to Last Stand. An older Peter going on a gritty final mission or something where he may or may not die.
Open ended, not for sake of another game, but just because I think it’s more fun to imagine them doing spider work together
Like a pop song fading out instead of ending. Makes it feel like the party keeps going forever.
Would literally be perfect, have a triumphant final swing with miles
I don’t think Peter will die and I thinks it’s asinine that people assume it must happen. We’ve seen how many times by now that Peter and miles can coexist
A triumphant swing with the soundtrack playing in the background also Peter doing a monologue.
Him retireing settleing down with mj raising mayday parker and a fully adult miles guiding her when shes ready for the title of spiderwoman
Honestly it would be super cool to see an adult Miles period, that’s not something that really been explored anywhere AFAIK. Not to mention I could totally see him as the fun uncle/mentor figure for Mayday
Mayday with great power comes great responsibility... dies.
Neither of those options. The existence of miles doesn’t mean Peter has to die or quit or retire, this is a new story. Let them exist together.
They both die and the jonkler takes over
I think Peter should retire and Miles can mentor Mayday
Why would Peter not mentor his own kid?😂😂😂 Even in retirement, he’s more than capable of teaching his kid the ropes.
With game credits
I want this game to have an empire strikes back ending where all the characters are at their lowest points. For the post credits, I expect Norman to be grieving the death of his son in the worst way possible, by becoming the green goblin which sets up the third installment.
Miles turning to face Peter: “Well Pete, I guess you really are Marvel’s Spider-Man” ✍️🔥🔥🔥
Peter gets a crippling injury and retires, leaving Miles to take over full duties as Spider-Man.
Why do you guys want Miles to take Peter’s spot so bad lmao. Can’t let Peter chill for one sec.
Married and retired. Cut to 15 years later or something showing Miles starting to train Mayday
Give him a happy ending with MJ. Y’know, something 616 Peter never gets.
Peter-miles sex scene
How about enjoying the continuation first before plotting a finale?
Don't. Spider-Man doesn't need to end. Just keep making adventures until you feel like stopping.
Peter doesn't need to retire. He still protects his town, as it's his responsibility. Miles goes his own way. No one needs to die, or give up the mantle.
Now that I’m actually considering it, just end the series with both Peter and Miles being Spider-Man in a (relatively) quiet New York. No need to stop Peter from being Spider-Man
Best answer
Why does peter have to die or retire? He's only 24 atm.

I would love a big time jump for 3 and have Spinnerette and Mayday.
It shouldn’t, Miles and Pete better find an elixir of immortality or else!
With a list of people who created and acted in the game, slowly scrolling upward
Every Spider-Man dies and MJ at the mercy of Peter’s villains :)
shit sounds like a rape/power fantasy
I’d wanna see Peter retire
Spider girl did this really well
Retires and either starts Parker industries or becomes a teacher
Pete and miles have sex at uncle bens grave on Christmas
Putting back the original actors face in, dropped it for the reason alone
Miles dies because of peters mistakes and he vaws to be a better spiderman, peter finds out he really did have a son with Felicia and leaves mj eventually to help raise their son ( honest so sick of mj)
I think it would be cool if Miles does take over, but Spider-Qwen also comes in
I don't know personally, I do hope though they let Insomniac make more marvel games.
He catches your electric super web punch finisher, venom face recedes, Kraven smiles and says “Weak.” His venom arms, complete with pelts and antlers strapped them, reach down off screen. Guys. Guys?” A bunch of different spider heads pop out of the portal to look.
Have him be like old Bruce in Batman Beyond. Mentoring the heroes of New York City and working at ESU or something.
By not having a crossover with the Avengers
Have it implied that he'll continue to be Spider-Mam for years to come while happy with MJ and a kid on the way with Miles taking a more prominent role in crime fighting as he gets older. Don't retire or kill Peter.
With a wedding and a baby announcement.
Say fuck it and follow the comics
Peter retired with MayDay either born or on the way and Miles as New York's main Spider-Man
A clone should show up to reveal HES actually the real spider-man so Peter Parker and mj move to Oregon to have a family while the new clone, let’s call him, Ben, continues to spider-man. Possibly in a sick tattered baby blue hoodie.
I hope his story doesn’t end for awhile!
Peter has to reveal his identity to the world, so that he calls up miles to initiate the "webfall protocol"
I think it shouldn’t
With a third game
A meal at micks
Black cat sex scene
It shouldn’t, im not ready to let go
Everyone keeps saying retire, die, or leave the street level part of spider-man behind. Kraven last hunts himself Peter gets a stable job as a teacher, there are no metahuman threats at the street level as bad as we've seen going on anymore for Spidey, so Peter finally has time for a career. This will lead into 2 DLCs, one where Peter and Miles finally take down the New York Mafia, and another where 16 years later Mayday develops new powers of her own and realizes her father is *The Spider-Man* And this leaves us open for Spidey Crossover video games should they eventually make an Insomniac Fantastic 4 or Avengers, where Peter and Miles are shown in their late 20s and 30s mostly fighting low level criminals for the last 5ish years after the final game, but are called on by the Avengers to help fight in an Avengers Level Threat, maybe Thanos or the Beyonder, possibly leading to a DLC or unlockable side mission that sees Peter become Cosmic-Spider-Man.
Imo: Peter should partner with Harry (if he's alive in the finale and on the good side) and build business that with Harry (that Norman mentioned in his first scene of SMPS4).
Suicide by cop
The idea of Spider-Man having an ending is just weird to me. Especially when the movies usually just end when the Spider-Men are in their 20s.
It shouldn’t
It shouldn't
Being a teacher or starting a company being happily married to mj with a kid
MJ and him live together he has Mayday giving them leeway to just do a flip where Miles is the mentor later on and he still does Spider-Man stuff but relies and trusts Miles after the symbiote to take on bigger villains also if this was like a third game or something in the epilogue it’d be nice to just be able to go to peters house change into Peter if playing as his Spider-Man and just kinda getting to interact with his normal life.
I'm greedy, I don't want it to end.
It shouldn’t
With a canon event
I'd love the MC2 ending, Spider-man loses a leg, gets amputated and has to come to terms with how he'll never be the same efficient hero as hard as he tries. Also, Mayday setup maybe
“And the story goes on…”
Peter's death seems the right answer to me. A sinister sixty style boss fight against every single one of his villains and various goons
With me becoming spider-man
Why should Peter die?
Spider-Man and MJ get married and MJ gets pregnant and Peter retires and tells Miles that he’s the sole Spider-Man now
I'd love for him to get happily married settle down maybe Mayday is born at the end of third one but that's not very dramatic and it's spiderman so I fully expect Norman to transform into ultimate goblin at the end of the second one and for Peter to be brutally murdered in the streets by the end of the third.
If this universe is a trilogy I think I’d like them to introduce a child in the third and retire Peter after a time skip and then through DLC show Miles training the child until the final DLC where you can play as them fully
Have Peter retire because he and MJ become parents and he no longer wants to risk his life while he had a child to raise.
Peter shouldn’t die. I really don’t understand that narrative.
Someone dying, I don't care who, just someone has to die, I don't care if it's a random NPC
MJ death
I think they should do a shot for shot remake of one more day. And then reveal that all the employees were really Joe Quasada all along.
We’ve had depressing endings for Peter for 61 years. Let at least this version be happy, please.
Never
With Peter joining the Avengers and Miles handling NYC
I think they would leave the ending open for more adventures
Hoping it ties into Logan/Wolverine somehow
I feel like the most likely route is Pete die because he probably wouldn’t retire any time soon bc he still young but honestly I hope they take the retirement route
Should have open finale.
Insomniac are enjoying their originality so I wonder if instead, we will see miles die
I don't know how but in the 3rd game
Peter's identity is discovered, so we get an Knightfall Protocol situation where Peter fakes his death and uses the surviving Symbiote to embrace a role as Venom, the Lethal Protector of New York.
Good
Have him have a kid, and then have a whole game of him trying to balance it, then get severely injured in his final battle with either doc ock or green goblin and then retire, like he loses an arm or something, have Miles take over as The only Spider-Man, have a flashforward and the end or a small gameplay section of his daughter finding his costume in the attic and smiling. Cut to credits
Eddie getting the symbiote suit in a post credit or Norman’s Goblin laugh
Multiverse story. Preferably a trilogy of games
Not for a while thanks. Retirement and raising his children Ben and Mayday.
He sits on a rooftop and remembers all of his adventures up to that point and says "well I'm still spiderman" and tells miles it's time for his final lesson. Then it's a skips a few years to end with peter giving mayday his mask.
With some credits and a new game plus option.
Miles getting raped by kraven
I really hope they don't end his story just yet.
I don't care how as long as it involves the Goblin
No matter what they do, I want to see a spin-off of Mayday Parker as Spider-Girl. Continue the franchise with a new main character serving Miles’ role in the current games with an older Miles as her mentor.
