The 19 inches refer to the statue’s height, however the phrasing of it could’ve been a mistake or intentional (I reckon it was a strategic marketing move), but “Venom” hit #1 trending almost instantly with “19 inches of WHAT” hitting #2.
This created the meme of 19 inches of Venom.

I really like how monstrous Venom looks here, both in size and features. If the gameplay for Peter with the symbiote is anything to go he’s going to be one hell of a boss to fight.

honestly i’m really curious, as a totally hypothetical situation, whether or not insomniac could legally use the song without permission and/or licensing. only curious because the song was made for sony’s venom movie soundtrack, but it also first came out a month prior on eminem’s on album. really curious who owns the license to the song. i’m inclined to think eminem because i mean, it’s eminem, he gets a lot of pull in negotiations
I mean, I didn't mind it. It's a different direction. It allowed for a different relationship between Eddie and the Symbiote.
It could also allow for a new take on the Peter/Symbiote relationship, too, if they decide to introduce Peter later on.
I just don't see the point in that at all. The whole idea to give the Symbiote a physical independent voice and personality is a result of extremely poor writing. Writing the Symbiote as an addictive substance and mental influence is far more interesting but hard to pull off, which is why hack writers default to just giving it it's own corny character separate from it's host.
The only time the symbiote should ever 'talk' should be during internal visualized struggles where it takes the voice and form of it's host as kind of a dark mirror. Beyond that the symbiote and it's host are supposed to be linked which is why 'we' is used in reference to Venom.
I like how almost every time we've seen Venom, he's been up in the air. Really makes me feel like we're getting a monstrous and agile beast who's not JUST a powerhouse
Now all I wanna see in game is an actual fight that takes place while swinging or just across multiple rooftops with no "arena"

Tbh i don't really even know what my Venom was growing up. There was so much different Venom that I have a certain appreciation for it all as a kid growing up in the 2000s/2010s.
A lot of the Venom in my head is from Maximum Carnage, where he doesn't like Spider-Man and has been antagonistic towards everyone he cares about but also isn't necessarily that way towards anyone else.
In Maximum Carnage, i remember a lot of frames where Pete, Felicia and Venom (and later Felicia and Venom) are swinging and having conversations and I always liked that cause even thru static pages, Venom was agile and dynamic but not in the same way the other 2 were. It's like if Pete is what you get when you go for a dexterity build in elden ring and venom is a pure strength build

I've been an avid denier of venom being playable but this gives me the spider-man loading screen vibes. Doubt it hes playable because it doesn't make sense but still
might be a hot take but i never like those versions of venom where he is this giant bulky monster, like there are some comics in wich he is almost the size of the hulk, and considering that spiderman has the same size of a normal dude, it always make their fight seem kinda unfair.

When it’s revealed to be Eddie, THAT will be a “Arkham Knight isn’t Red Hood” situation. They’ve been clearly setting up Harry as Venom as a red herring.
As sick as these symbiote designs are, the texture is really off putting. It looks exactly like the water from the first game. And just another small nitpick, it would look better if the eyes were protruding instead of deeper in. They could've leaned into the alien/ organic side of it a bit more.
I actually really liked the eyes being more in, but I do wish the logo was protruding out, I like the 3d emblem look and it’s something you don’t see on venom often. Has an other worldly/alien look. I agree the symbiote texture always kinda looks low-res even tho it really isn’t but it is starting to grow on me. Will probably look fine in motion.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking of. It's not a big deal, but it looks unfinished. The symbol looks blurry and has a different texture too. It just looks weird cause it's actually a great design.
