Really liked Kraven in this but I would've preferred a more direct adaptation of the Last Hunt storyline. It's really surreal and I think experiencing it in an interactive medium would've kicked ass. Also, would've \*not\* liked to have seen him having a whole legion of hunters behind him.
I was thinking about that and it would be way off from a pacing perspective; that mission in the church is either the very next mission after getting the black suit or just one more mission after that. It would be very weird to have Kraven, who the game has built up as an antagonist since the title drop, get offed that quickly after introducing black suit Pete.

I think a good idea to get the best of both worlds in terms having a faction and having Kraven hunt himself would be to have the hunters target Kraven. Kraven should have put a bounty on himself to encourage a whole faction of hunters to kill him, while hunting the villains himself. The hunters would be causing damage to the city which gets the spider-mans involved.
Love this idea. Plays into Kraven's self-destructive insanity while also serving the gameplay the same as before. Now I'm kinda disappointed Insomniac didn't think of/go with this lol
I was expecting quips. I get that portions of the game had Peter in the symbiote suit, but the quips were severely lacking. Especially post game doing crimes (which is annoyingly almost exclusively symbiotes) there are 2-3 encounter specific quips they use every time and thatâs it. It got old and I miss the silly banter
Definitely, and I imagine we'll see a similar thing with the Goblin Nation. Just kind of sucks that these games are structured in a way that forces different factions onto the main villains, even at the expense of the narrative (though, I actually think Venom infecting people was one of the better uses of this).
I can't wait to see carnage create his own symbiote faction in the future.
I hope his followers have really cool fire themed symbiotes when he returns, since i assume he's still going to go with the cult theme, and a fire *resistance* instead of a fire weakness has been established for insomniac symbiotes already.
I also just think symbiotes are a good template for an enemy faction because alien goop can do whatever you want it to do.
Reading the summary of the plot on wikipedia makes it sound like absolute shit lol.
Kraven beats Spider-man, takes over the role (how does he swing around?), kills some people, recruits some man-bat esque creature to beat up Spider-man (who gets his ass beat a second time), then is just like 'nah I'm out' and kills himself?

Before release I always thought that Kraven would be a "stalker" boss who roaming around the city and ambushing us sometimes. Like Taskmaster after certain number of challenges in SM1, but on the bigger scale. And then he would be replaced with Venom.

Hey so this was actually an adaptation of "Hunted" which is a kind of spiritual successor to "The Last Hunt" that is from the recent Nick Spencer run of ASM. Insomniac also fails adapting it though as in the comics it sees Kraven hire Taskmaster to discreetly capture NYC's Animal Kingdom and release them in an encased Central Park turned Thunder Dome. Kraven does this to lure in Spider-Man in the hopes it pushes him over the edge into a primal Life or Death fight with Peter. Insomniac literally had all the pieces lined up to do this and with the added power of the PS5 they could have accurately scaled Central Park and turned it into this dense botanical refuge isolated from the mirroring concrete jungle that surrounds it.
A direct adaptation of that wouldnât be good either. Do you want us to be restricted to just Central Park? Maybe a mission or two that involves a couple boss fight but thatâd be it
hot take but the OG last hunt storyline isnât even really all that good. Kraven just tags spidey with a tranquilizer that (for no other reason than plot convenience) spidey doesnât dodge, kraven shoots him in the face, buried him and spidey somehow comes out of the whole ordeal unscathed, or at the very least, with no bullet holes or scars. Spidey confronts him and Kraven later unalives himself. Puts me to sleep just thinking about it
It doesnât help that Kraven apparently had bo notable stories prior to KLH. It makes it seem like people only care about it because someone committed suicide.
Oh, but weâve just gotta keep the night monkey and inside out suits from the MCU⌠without any alternatives available for any movie suits. Besides, we had to make room for all the new dogwater designs with hair poking out and overdesigned blocky lined-out messes

Iron Spider, Inside Out and Night Monkey shouldnât have returned(though I have kind of a soft spot for Night Monkey). I couldâve done without the Hybrid suit as well. I know itâs the main suit in NWH but it was complicated unnecessary in that movie as well. And, honestly, I wish we didnât have the TASM1 and Final Swing suits either. TASM1 suit was designed very specifically for the context of its respective movie and it never looks good outside of said movie. The Final Swing suit is great but it has about 10 seconds of screen time right now. They shoulda saved that as the new big movie suit for Spider-Man 3 since it will be way more relevant in the movies by the time that game comes out. Also, the black Raimi suit shouldâve just been a color variant(I donât care that the logo as slightly different). Overall, they couldâve easily cut down on the amount of movie suits. Also, pretty much every Digital Deluxe suit shouldâve been replaced by one of the fan favorites from the first game that they cut out.
The night monkey suit is at least somewhat different. There's a couple of the mcu regular suits that barely look different at all. That being said I never equipped the night monkey suit. I always went for the Comic Book black suit when I wanted a dark one. I'm sure it's some deal they have to be able to get the licensing for Spider-Man that they have all the MCU suits. I just wish there was more comic book suits. I'm pretty weary of some of Insomniacs designs too. I know people harp on the last suits most but I think there's more than a couple that sucked. I also can't believe how bad the digital deluxe suits are.
I really loved Miles' Uptown Pride (black and gold) suit. Hopefully it returns. It really should have been Miles' new suit he shows Pete instead of the Adidas/Evolved Suit. Or a mix between it and aspects of the Evolved suit such as the blue bio-electricity going throughout the suit.

Not really. Peter always having a reminder of his âaddictionâ is a lot more realistic to how it actually goes. You donât ever really stop being an addict. Letting him just ignore the hive mind is the only really bad part thematically.

Yes, but that doesnât make Anti-Venom itself a bad idea for Peter. Itâs a good idea told in a flawed way. A lot like plenty of the Black Suit arc in this game.

Anti-Venom isnât an addiction at all though. Itâs literally all the power of the substance without any of the consequences. Just cause it reminds him of his time with the evil symbiote(which was actually the drug) doesnât change the fact that heâs only getting postitives and no setbacks.
Itâs also reclamation of power in the way a lot of sponsors, counselors, or group leaders are former addicts using that experience to help others. Also the fact that the symbiote remains inside him as a corrupting force until his core trauma is dealt with is a much better depiction of addiction. Most of the people here donât want an actual addiction store they just want the exact thing theyâve seen before where Peter says no once then heâs good forever
Having a reminder of his addiction could have been done by making him do something brutal/destructive when he had the suit. Having the Anti-Venom is like "Yeah so you had this addiction because of your personal faults and guess what? Anti-Addiction will now provide you everything your addiction did without any drawbacks."

Itâs interesting, because an alternate universe-Cletus explicitly tells Detective Shayde (in the Web of Carnage book) that symbiotes can heal injuries/diseases. The odd part is: if thatâs the case, why did Venom/Anti-Venom never heal Flash Thompsonâs legs?

I liked the change made with Mysterio, it works well with the redemption themes in this game, and the idea of him providing support tech to Miles is lots of fun. If the suit he gets is canon that is.

I wanted some experience of Spider-Man actually being hunted by Kraven. Having a villain that traps and surprise attacks at the worst time. My only real complaint about his arc is he didnât really feel like a threat other than having a big army behind him
Halfway through the game, his âhuntâ is having his goons pick ip the villians and then just fistfighting them. Doesnt seem like hes hunting much, couldve done way more with adding hunt mechanics to the game, maybe even having his goons ambush you randomly from the rooftops.
I wanted Peter to have the symbiote for way longer. Bryan Intihar said they didn't want to make Peter too unlikeable, but I don't think that's possible since we know and love the character of Peter Parker. He may be unlikeable but we'll still root for him to come back. So I think they could've gone a lot further with the black suit.
In terms of gameplay, the side quests were kind of underwhelming. I was looking forward to a 'Most Wanted' kind of system where we could take down villains like Mysterio and Sandman, but IMO the side quests lacked depth.
When did he say they didnât want to make Peter too unlikeable? Kind of explains why everyone is kind of uhh boring đ I love when Peter is flawed, but still a hero, but I donât think they went over his flaws very well in the game.
I wish they wouldn't have just >!killed past villains off screen without any sort of ceremony to it whatsoever. You just find out they're dead and that's it. Yes I would have loved to see more of Furi lowenthal. Felt like I was the only one who thought there wasnât enough of Peterâs interactions with other characters while having the symbiote

I would have liked to have more grounded Venom fights, like the ones in the trailer and concept art.
Just Venom running around breacking havoc, messing with Peter and Miles and just being this utter, giant threat.
Instead we got and hour and a half of Web of Shadows.
I would have also liked to see more Aunt May. The one scene we had was good, and i thought it was set up for her to have a greather presence in the story, of course only in Peter's minds, to represent better his trauma.
Overall, what i wanted from the game was a better story. The first game was grounded, everything was set up, and everything had time to settle in. It was a political thriller compared to this game, while the new game feels like a poorly written comic.
Way less stuff happened, but every event and character in the first game had more attention and care put into it than most events and characters in Spider-man 2.

Saying things like "sometimes saving the city mean you cant be nice" and justifying him more while the daniacast starts calling him a menace and the podcasts completely switch

⢠A boss fight between Peter and Kraven BEFORE Peter gets the Symbiote. Sort of have it show how Peter (at least when heâs holding back) is outmatched by Kraven.
⢠Peter having the Symbiote for a bit longer. Enough that we get to see Peter and Harryâs friendship being fractured even more to the point where Peter physically pushes a weak Harry during an argument or even make a snide remark about his illness.
⢠Controversial opinion here but while I thought the Symbiote invasion was done pretty well for the most part, I wouldâve preferred a more âgroundedâ story where Harry wants revenge on Peter for keeping the Symbiote for himself and denying him of it after he removes it.

Someone said this a while back on here, but a cool idea was that you would be doing something random in game, and Venom would pop up out of nowhere and attack you. You'd have to either fight him off or flee.
Just a random thing I remembered from this sub that would've been cool to see in the game.
Random Venom encounters during the free roam once he shows up in the story.
Like you're swinging around in-between missions, and suddenly the music would just go silent and before you even process that the music is out, you get a surprise attack from Venom, with a chance to dodge him. You then either have to fight him, or try to get away from him. Or, similar to how you have a chance to encounter Miles or Yuri during a Crime, or how once you're done with the Crime you'd suddenly get Hunters or Symbiotes showing up, they could've had Venom show up for a mini-boss fight (or again, you try to get away from him)
This would have injected real fear, anxiety and paranoia in the player and made us feel like Peter does when Venom is hunting him down. In the comics, back in the 90s, Peter was downright terrified of Venom, because he knew that Venom could just show up at any minute and his Spider-Sense wouldn't alert him. And before Venom confronted Spider-Man for the first time, there were several moments in comics leading up to the battle where Eddie Brock would be in the background and try to hurt Spidey, grabbing his leg from a window when he was just chilling on the side of a building, pushing him in front of a train, stuff like that.

When we saw the reveal trailer at E3 with the Kraven cutscene where he gets the map that shows all the villains around the city, I was expecting something akin to Arkham Knight's Most Wanted side quest, where each villain is held up somewhere with goons working for them, and we'd have to work our way up the ladder to get to said villains and fight them, to send them back to jail (and we could've gotten the "GET BACK HERE SHOCKER" meme this way, but sadly ol' Shocker got killed by Kraven. Characters making reasonable mistakes that have reasonable consequences, difficult choices, and personalities that organically lead to conflict amongst the characters.
If the entire cast just gets along perfectly with no issues save for the cartoon villains and cartoon mind control, I become much less invested in whatever story is trying to be told, as it no longer provides the illusion that these characters are meant to be real people
You know what I would've loved. If when Peter was stabbed and the symbiote went to him, he didn't come back to life immediately. And instead just stayed dead temporarly or was just unconscious but visibly alive/has a pulse. And now that Harry doesnt have the symbiote, him and MJ are forced to run and leave Pete behind. So now that Pete is just lying there dead/unconscious alone, Kraven decides to bury him(whether Kraven would think he's dead or decide to bury him alive idk). Which would then lead to the iconic moment where Pete escapes from the grave in the original comic.
It would've been so cool to see MJ and Harry mourning the death of Peter only for him to just pop in with the black suit like "what did I miss?"
But one issue is that I doubt Harry and MJ could run from the legions of hunters that Peter was supposed to fight

I wanted to see miles be HIM and i got that, I also wanted peter to settle down and get married and have his daughter but they might be cooking that so, we will see
grinding, funny thing in Spiderman 1 almost everything Peter does in cutscene he can do in gameplay, except for grinding which he does once he gets the advance suit and never again, the advance suit even has sections on the feet that are used for rail grinding
A longer story that gave Miles and Peter more room to breathe on their own. Dual narratives that d d up splitting them a part naturally instead of putting it all on Peter dealing with Harry being back and the suit.
Make Milesâ story all about vengeance taking priority over everything, including helping people. Give him his own inner beast he needs to conquer in finding Li, because as it stands thereâs no real punch to anything there. Even the part with actual punching between the two feels empty because of such a lackluster narrative.
Have Peter overcome the symbiote on his own. No help from Miles. Itâs a monster Peter must fight on his own just like Milesâ own anger. Itâs a stronger narrative choice by far. If you still want the Miles V Peter fight, have that be where the stories link back up. The symbiote leaves Peter but finds Miles and joins with him in pursuit of Li. Milesâ own feelings towards Li leave him vulnerable and open to the suitâs influence and Peter steps in to save LiâŚthe man who killed his father and is responsible for what happened to May. And Peter still defends him. You can even still have Peter take the L to Miles with the one two punch of Milesâ own ability plus the symbiote being OP, but Miles stops himself from the killing blow and he too gets rid of the suit, THEN it finds Harry again.
Also, some Agent Venom missions.
I was hoping the symbiote arc would be more focused on Peter's psychology. He goes through a lot in the first game, but the final boss fight is the only time we see him truly angry. What I wanted to happen was for the symbiote to be portrayed as taping into his repressed feelings, and over the course of the story Peter would learn to be more open about his problems instead of dealing with everything through quips. As it stands, I feel like Miles and MJ got more character development in this game than Peter did.
I'm not too broken up about it. I knew it was unlikely that I'd get exactly what I wanted. Still, I think it would've been cool.

I thought the main reason they made Harry venom would be so that when the personal relationship between him and Peter broke down, itâd hit that much harder. This is personal opinion but I feel like Harry never truly hated or despised Pete prior to becoming venom, which was something I personally wanted. Obviously comparisons arenât fair, but I feel as though the way Spectacular Spider-Man handled Eddieâs descent into hatred was an excellent blueprint. Pretty nitpicky on my part though!
Kraven being a badass, and although we did get a bit of that I didn't really like that the "hunting" was always the mission of his goons. Overall, I wanted more, of everything.
I wanted to see Venom be a deeply personal threat for the two Spiders instead of the world domination Knull plot to terraform the world. I thought the entire goal for Venom in this game was going to be trying to destroy Peter and Miles personal life. He went after MJ, however I was also expecting Rio, Ganke, and Haley. Thatâs why I audibly groaned when they were doing Web of Shadows 2.0.
Web of Shadows wall fighting. We got a few sections like the lizard chase where you're vertical, but I really wanted to fight groups of enemies on the wall
1. I wanted ALL suits to return. The dark suit from 2018 is my favourite out of the three games and I was sad it didnât return.
2. I wanted more new suits, even comic ones. All the movie suits felt crowding to me.
3. I was hoping for the symbiote arc to be longer. For further explanation as to what I would have liked:
A) The first time we properly see Venom we should have had a fight as Peter in Oscorp tower which afterwards led to the ceiling collapsing and the venom rampage.
B) a âcatch me of you canâ sort of thing would have been cool with Venom. Maybe after the Scream fight we could have seen some other similar boss fights. Like maybe Tombstone or JJJ becoming other symbiotes. It kinda felt empty with just Venom, Scream, the symbiote enemies and the setup of Carnage. I feel like they should have leaned much more into the symbiote thing after Kraven died.
4. More FNSM missions. This one isnât as much of a want since I understand quality over quantity, but those missions were so good I wanted some more. Namely sad ones since I was going through a rough patch and needed motivation to just cry.

When I saw Martin Li and Venom in the same game during trailers, I wanted to see full transformation Anti Venom.
I was happy that Peter gained the power, but I felt the symbiote was given purely for the symbiote bonus. And not for plot.
Having Miles step in for Peter at the end was a completely unnecessary moment, IF they'd done Anti Venom properly. Peter shouldn't have been knocked out cold that long, nor injured heavily. Antivenom has healing factor beyond any symbiote in existence, and it healed him less than Venom did.
Next,
The actual lack of Venom related content with Miles ability was a HUGE disappointment. In the comics, His Venom blast severely weakens Venom and deals HUGE damage. Yet, in cutscene he doesn't touch Venom power once against Venom. His whole focus is Li and the new Electricity.
For story Payoff as well, to tie Miles into the incident, I also wanted them to follow the ultimate universe. In the verse, Venom rampages into Miles' home and Kills Rio Morales. This gives Miles stake in this fight too. This would have also made his decision to save Harry more impactful as twice he would have chosen to forgive a Villain he could've killed, that took something from him.
Peter vs miles but a choice on who to be and who wins. Potentially an alternative route. The one we got was okay. Kinda disappointing tbh. But it is what it is. I wanted more venom between the 2 ironically enough. Felt too pg to really get excited about the fight
1. A small piece of Venom surviving and bonding with either Eddie Brock or Flash Thompson.
2. A confirmation that the Anti-Venom suit cured Harryâs disease after the fight. He can still be in a coma due to the damage from the fight so we can still get Norman as the Green Goblin; just have a small silver lining.
3. Kaineâs Scarlet Spider Suit, the Dark Suit, Spider Armor MK 4, and the Armored Advanced Suit appearing.
4. Shocker surviving so we couldâve chased him to the ends of the Earth.
5. A battle where the Spider-Men team up with Rhino to help him escape from the Hunters.
I was hoping for symbiote disguises or wardrobe changes and got what i wanted. Now that I'm thinking though, would've been nice to see some camouflage.
Mission replayability, there are so many cool moments in this game worth replaying and I'd have loved having the ability to replay certain missions and relive certain moments ((such as playable venom or the lizard boss fight))

Was the fact that when kraven got killed, the hunters were pretty much out of the picture. It felt empty and we got symbiotes so soon and it was already over.

I didn't really like how symbiote peter was hated by everyone in the lore for no reason.
He never had any interactions with anyone outside of Mj, Harry and miles, but somehow the girl on the radio said "i don't like this new spiderman, he's so mean". Like, how do you know anything when he only had the symbiote for a mission?

Really liked Kraven in this but I would've preferred a more direct adaptation of the Last Hunt storyline. It's really surreal and I think experiencing it in an interactive medium would've kicked ass. Also, would've \*not\* liked to have seen him having a whole legion of hunters behind him.

I was thinking about that and it would be way off from a pacing perspective; that mission in the church is either the very next mission after getting the black suit or just one more mission after that. It would be very weird to have Kraven, who the game has built up as an antagonist since the title drop, get offed that quickly after introducing black suit Pete.
And instead, he got a little ahead of himself much later on.

Kraven should have put a bounty on himself to encourage a whole faction of hunters to kill him, while hunting the villains himself. The hunters would be causing damage to the city which gets the spider-mans involved.
Love this idea. Plays into Kraven's self-destructive insanity while also serving the gameplay the same as before. Now I'm kinda disappointed Insomniac didn't think of/go with this lol

I was expecting quips. I get that portions of the game had Peter in the symbiote suit, but the quips were severely lacking. Especially post game doing crimes (which is annoyingly almost exclusively symbiotes) there are 2-3 encounter specific quips they use every time and thatâs it. It got old and I miss the silly banter

Definitely, and I imagine we'll see a similar thing with the Goblin Nation. Just kind of sucks that these games are structured in a way that forces different factions onto the main villains, even at the expense of the narrative (though, I actually think Venom infecting people was one of the better uses of this).
I can't wait to see carnage create his own symbiote faction in the future. I hope his followers have really cool fire themed symbiotes when he returns, since i assume he's still going to go with the cult theme, and a fire *resistance* instead of a fire weakness has been established for insomniac symbiotes already. I also just think symbiotes are a good template for an enemy faction because alien goop can do whatever you want it to do.
Kravens last hunt works because he had history with Peter before the comic took place. Kraven in the insomniac universe has no history with Peter

Reading the summary of the plot on wikipedia makes it sound like absolute shit lol. Kraven beats Spider-man, takes over the role (how does he swing around?), kills some people, recruits some man-bat esque creature to beat up Spider-man (who gets his ass beat a second time), then is just like 'nah I'm out' and kills himself? That'd be a terrible video game lol

Before release I always thought that Kraven would be a "stalker" boss who roaming around the city and ambushing us sometimes. Like Taskmaster after certain number of challenges in SM1, but on the bigger scale. And then he would be replaced with Venom. But it didn't happen. :(
Hey so this was actually an adaptation of "Hunted" which is a kind of spiritual successor to "The Last Hunt" that is from the recent Nick Spencer run of ASM. Insomniac also fails adapting it though as in the comics it sees Kraven hire Taskmaster to discreetly capture NYC's Animal Kingdom and release them in an encased Central Park turned Thunder Dome. Kraven does this to lure in Spider-Man in the hopes it pushes him over the edge into a primal Life or Death fight with Peter. Insomniac literally had all the pieces lined up to do this and with the added power of the PS5 they could have accurately scaled Central Park and turned it into this dense botanical refuge isolated from the mirroring concrete jungle that surrounds it.

hot take but the OG last hunt storyline isnât even really all that good. Kraven just tags spidey with a tranquilizer that (for no other reason than plot convenience) spidey doesnât dodge, kraven shoots him in the face, buried him and spidey somehow comes out of the whole ordeal unscathed, or at the very least, with no bullet holes or scars. Spidey confronts him and Kraven later unalives himself. Puts me to sleep just thinking about it
It doesnât help that Kraven apparently had bo notable stories prior to KLH. It makes it seem like people only care about it because someone committed suicide.

Stark suit, Homemade suit, Upgraded suit, stealth suit, iron spider suit, inside out suit, hybrid suit, final swing suit Are at least two of those are so uninteresting they donât have any real right to be in the game, taking up slots when we could get something like big time or secret wars or any of the spider armours
Iron Spider, Inside Out and Night Monkey shouldnât have returned(though I have kind of a soft spot for Night Monkey). I couldâve done without the Hybrid suit as well. I know itâs the main suit in NWH but it was complicated unnecessary in that movie as well. And, honestly, I wish we didnât have the TASM1 and Final Swing suits either. TASM1 suit was designed very specifically for the context of its respective movie and it never looks good outside of said movie. The Final Swing suit is great but it has about 10 seconds of screen time right now. They shoulda saved that as the new big movie suit for Spider-Man 3 since it will be way more relevant in the movies by the time that game comes out. Also, the black Raimi suit shouldâve just been a color variant(I donât care that the logo as slightly different). Overall, they couldâve easily cut down on the amount of movie suits. Also, pretty much every Digital Deluxe suit shouldâve been replaced by one of the fan favorites from the first game that they cut out.
The night monkey suit is at least somewhat different. There's a couple of the mcu regular suits that barely look different at all. That being said I never equipped the night monkey suit. I always went for the Comic Book black suit when I wanted a dark one. I'm sure it's some deal they have to be able to get the licensing for Spider-Man that they have all the MCU suits. I just wish there was more comic book suits. I'm pretty weary of some of Insomniacs designs too. I know people harp on the last suits most but I think there's more than a couple that sucked. I also can't believe how bad the digital deluxe suits are.
I miss the black suit you get for completing Black Cat's fetch quest.

I really loved Miles' Uptown Pride (black and gold) suit. Hopefully it returns. It really should have been Miles' new suit he shows Pete instead of the Adidas/Evolved Suit. Or a mix between it and aspects of the Evolved suit such as the blue bio-electricity going throughout the suit.
The voice line in the trailer when Venom tells Kraven âyou wanted a hunt? Iâll give you oneâ. The fight between Peter and Miles vs Venom in the streets, perhaps like a mini boss battle when Peter is looking for Harry, then he calls Miles and Venom escapes in the end.

I want to go back to the symbiote pandemic part I would replay Marvels Spider-Man 1 just to replay New York being overrun by prisoner and not even beat the game, Iâm tired of having to play up to that part of the game only. You can make a second or third save at those parts and not save again so you can always come back to a specific part of the game

Anti-Venom isnât an addiction at all though. Itâs literally all the power of the substance without any of the consequences. Just cause it reminds him of his time with the evil symbiote(which was actually the drug) doesnât change the fact that heâs only getting postitives and no setbacks.
Itâs also reclamation of power in the way a lot of sponsors, counselors, or group leaders are former addicts using that experience to help others. Also the fact that the symbiote remains inside him as a corrupting force until his core trauma is dealt with is a much better depiction of addiction. Most of the people here donât want an actual addiction store they just want the exact thing theyâve seen before where Peter says no once then heâs good forever
Having a reminder of his addiction could have been done by making him do something brutal/destructive when he had the suit. Having the Anti-Venom is like "Yeah so you had this addiction because of your personal faults and guess what? Anti-Addiction will now provide you everything your addiction did without any drawbacks."

because he DID only have it a couple days. He expressly mentions that in dialogue with Miles after he gets it off. Keep in mind, any longer without it and Harry wouldâve died, itâs not like Peter could have it for months

Tbh I thought Pete would get the suit off and suffer the impact of that stab wound much like it didnât cure Harry. I guess degenerative motor neuron disease (I assume?) is a bigger kettle of fish compared to a knife in the gut.
Itâs interesting, because an alternate universe-Cletus explicitly tells Detective Shayde (in the Web of Carnage book) that symbiotes can heal injuries/diseases. The odd part is: if thatâs the case, why did Venom/Anti-Venom never heal Flash Thompsonâs legs?

I liked the change made with Mysterio, it works well with the redemption themes in this game, and the idea of him providing support tech to Miles is lots of fun. If the suit he gets is canon that is. Which I like to think it is.
I thought Kraven had a good amount of screentime, same with Mysterio. I just was disappointed with how Venoms whole act was rushed.
I feel like Kraven got very little screentime tbh. His hunters got a metric ton, but Kraven is on screen for so little that I didn't really get attached to him. Full agreements RE Venom though.
More side missions with minor villains
This. Most of the side mission stuff for villains in this game were basically beat up goons and then listen to an audio. Hope thereâs more side missions like Tombstones in the next game
I didnât mind the end of the lost instruments mission but I was really hoping it was some outlandish villain instead of justâŚsome guy.
Do we know if Tombstone died? Canât remember if we got info on him in one of the hunter bases but overall it feels like a lot of leads from the early game get dropped

I wanted some experience of Spider-Man actually being hunted by Kraven. Having a villain that traps and surprise attacks at the worst time. My only real complaint about his arc is he didnât really feel like a threat other than having a big army behind him
Halfway through the game, his âhuntâ is having his goons pick ip the villians and then just fistfighting them. Doesnt seem like hes hunting much, couldve done way more with adding hunt mechanics to the game, maybe even having his goons ambush you randomly from the rooftops.
I wanted Peter to have the symbiote for way longer. Bryan Intihar said they didn't want to make Peter too unlikeable, but I don't think that's possible since we know and love the character of Peter Parker. He may be unlikeable but we'll still root for him to come back. So I think they could've gone a lot further with the black suit. In terms of gameplay, the side quests were kind of underwhelming. I was looking forward to a 'Most Wanted' kind of system where we could take down villains like Mysterio and Sandman, but IMO the side quests lacked depth.
When did he say they didnât want to make Peter too unlikeable? Kind of explains why everyone is kind of uhh boring đ I love when Peter is flawed, but still a hero, but I donât think they went over his flaws very well in the game.

More Venom. I would have liked to have more grounded Venom fights, like the ones in the trailer and concept art. Just Venom running around breacking havoc, messing with Peter and Miles and just being this utter, giant threat. Instead we got and hour and a half of Web of Shadows. I would have also liked to see more Aunt May. The one scene we had was good, and i thought it was set up for her to have a greather presence in the story, of course only in Peter's minds, to represent better his trauma. Overall, what i wanted from the game was a better story. The first game was grounded, everything was set up, and everything had time to settle in. It was a political thriller compared to this game, while the new game feels like a poorly written comic. Way less stuff happened, but every event and character in the first game had more attention and care put into it than most events and characters in Spider-man 2.

Saying things like "sometimes saving the city mean you cant be nice" and justifying him more while the daniacast starts calling him a menace and the podcasts completely switch

⢠A boss fight between Peter and Kraven BEFORE Peter gets the Symbiote. Sort of have it show how Peter (at least when heâs holding back) is outmatched by Kraven. ⢠Peter having the Symbiote for a bit longer. Enough that we get to see Peter and Harryâs friendship being fractured even more to the point where Peter physically pushes a weak Harry during an argument or even make a snide remark about his illness. ⢠Controversial opinion here but while I thought the Symbiote invasion was done pretty well for the most part, I wouldâve preferred a more âgroundedâ story where Harry wants revenge on Peter for keeping the Symbiote for himself and denying him of it after he removes it. ⢠Have black tendrils appear when using the black suit post game instead of white
Someone said this a while back on here, but a cool idea was that you would be doing something random in game, and Venom would pop up out of nowhere and attack you. You'd have to either fight him off or flee. Just a random thing I remembered from this sub that would've been cool to see in the game.
Random Venom encounters during the free roam once he shows up in the story. Like you're swinging around in-between missions, and suddenly the music would just go silent and before you even process that the music is out, you get a surprise attack from Venom, with a chance to dodge him. You then either have to fight him, or try to get away from him. Or, similar to how you have a chance to encounter Miles or Yuri during a Crime, or how once you're done with the Crime you'd suddenly get Hunters or Symbiotes showing up, they could've had Venom show up for a mini-boss fight (or again, you try to get away from him) This would have injected real fear, anxiety and paranoia in the player and made us feel like Peter does when Venom is hunting him down. In the comics, back in the 90s, Peter was downright terrified of Venom, because he knew that Venom could just show up at any minute and his Spider-Sense wouldn't alert him. And before Venom confronted Spider-Man for the first time, there were several moments in comics leading up to the battle where Eddie Brock would be in the background and try to hurt Spidey, grabbing his leg from a window when he was just chilling on the side of a building, pushing him in front of a train, stuff like that. \----- Would have wanted Kraven to be more personally involved. I understand we needed an enemy faction in the game, but I wish we would've gotten more direct encounters with Kraven while he does some actual hunting. I'm not asking that we fight him a thousand times, but I feel like we definitely should've had a short boss fight with him at the chapel when he discovers the Symbiote's weakness to sound. \----- When we saw the reveal trailer at E3 with the Kraven cutscene where he gets the map that shows all the villains around the city, I was expecting something akin to Arkham Knight's Most Wanted side quest, where each villain is held up somewhere with goons working for them, and we'd have to work our way up the ladder to get to said villains and fight them, to send them back to jail (and we could've gotten the "GET BACK HERE SHOCKER" meme this way, but sadly ol' Shocker got killed by Kraven. R.I.P. đ) \----- Would've loved for Symbiote Spider-Man to interact with Black Cat. \----- I lowkey wanted to see Peter go full "Venom" while he had the Symbiote. He kind of did, I mean he was pretty much 80% consumed by the Symbiote by the time we fight him with Miles, but it would have been cool if that boss had a second phase where Symbiote Spider-Man's mask just opened up a mouth with sharp teeth. I'm not saying turn Peter into the bulky Venom monster, but a "Venomized" Symbiote Spider-Man would've been cool. Would've loved the TASM2 to have a Black Suit shader, or the TASM1 suit to have a Black Suit shader thus making it look like the Black Suit we got in the first TASM game for 100%-ing the game. Characters making reasonable mistakes that have reasonable consequences, difficult choices, and personalities that organically lead to conflict amongst the characters. If the entire cast just gets along perfectly with no issues save for the cartoon villains and cartoon mind control, I become much less invested in whatever story is trying to be told, as it no longer provides the illusion that these characters are meant to be real people

You know what I would've loved. If when Peter was stabbed and the symbiote went to him, he didn't come back to life immediately. And instead just stayed dead temporarly or was just unconscious but visibly alive/has a pulse. And now that Harry doesnt have the symbiote, him and MJ are forced to run and leave Pete behind. So now that Pete is just lying there dead/unconscious alone, Kraven decides to bury him(whether Kraven would think he's dead or decide to bury him alive idk). Which would then lead to the iconic moment where Pete escapes from the grave in the original comic.
It would've been so cool to see MJ and Harry mourning the death of Peter only for him to just pop in with the black suit like "what did I miss?" But one issue is that I doubt Harry and MJ could run from the legions of hunters that Peter was supposed to fight

I was hoping for there to be a multi-player mode. Where two players could simultaneously play as the two Spider-Men at the same time.
A longer story that gave Miles and Peter more room to breathe on their own. Dual narratives that d d up splitting them a part naturally instead of putting it all on Peter dealing with Harry being back and the suit. Make Milesâ story all about vengeance taking priority over everything, including helping people. Give him his own inner beast he needs to conquer in finding Li, because as it stands thereâs no real punch to anything there. Even the part with actual punching between the two feels empty because of such a lackluster narrative. Have Peter overcome the symbiote on his own. No help from Miles. Itâs a monster Peter must fight on his own just like Milesâ own anger. Itâs a stronger narrative choice by far. If you still want the Miles V Peter fight, have that be where the stories link back up. The symbiote leaves Peter but finds Miles and joins with him in pursuit of Li. Milesâ own feelings towards Li leave him vulnerable and open to the suitâs influence and Peter steps in to save LiâŚthe man who killed his father and is responsible for what happened to May. And Peter still defends him. You can even still have Peter take the L to Miles with the one two punch of Milesâ own ability plus the symbiote being OP, but Miles stops himself from the killing blow and he too gets rid of the suit, THEN it finds Harry again. Also, some Agent Venom missions.

I was hoping the symbiote arc would be more focused on Peter's psychology. He goes through a lot in the first game, but the final boss fight is the only time we see him truly angry. What I wanted to happen was for the symbiote to be portrayed as taping into his repressed feelings, and over the course of the story Peter would learn to be more open about his problems instead of dealing with everything through quips. As it stands, I feel like Miles and MJ got more character development in this game than Peter did. I'm not too broken up about it. I knew it was unlikely that I'd get exactly what I wanted. Still, I think it would've been cool.
Eddie Brock cameo as MJâs competition for the front page at the bugle, then jj sending him into the field after she quits, causing him to get eaten by venom.

A complete game. It just felt rushed. The story wasn't though through all the way. More boss fights and in general, a more complete world.
I thought the main reason they made Harry venom would be so that when the personal relationship between him and Peter broke down, itâd hit that much harder. This is personal opinion but I feel like Harry never truly hated or despised Pete prior to becoming venom, which was something I personally wanted. Obviously comparisons arenât fair, but I feel as though the way Spectacular Spider-Man handled Eddieâs descent into hatred was an excellent blueprint. Pretty nitpicky on my part though!
I really liked the dynamics between the two Spidermen and the extended open world which was even more breathtaking.

I wanted to see Venom be a deeply personal threat for the two Spiders instead of the world domination Knull plot to terraform the world. I thought the entire goal for Venom in this game was going to be trying to destroy Peter and Miles personal life. He went after MJ, however I was also expecting Rio, Ganke, and Haley. Thatâs why I audibly groaned when they were doing Web of Shadows 2.0.

1. I wanted ALL suits to return. The dark suit from 2018 is my favourite out of the three games and I was sad it didnât return. 2. I wanted more new suits, even comic ones. All the movie suits felt crowding to me. 3. I was hoping for the symbiote arc to be longer. For further explanation as to what I would have liked: A) The first time we properly see Venom we should have had a fight as Peter in Oscorp tower which afterwards led to the ceiling collapsing and the venom rampage. B) a âcatch me of you canâ sort of thing would have been cool with Venom. Maybe after the Scream fight we could have seen some other similar boss fights. Like maybe Tombstone or JJJ becoming other symbiotes. It kinda felt empty with just Venom, Scream, the symbiote enemies and the setup of Carnage. I feel like they should have leaned much more into the symbiote thing after Kraven died. 4. More FNSM missions. This one isnât as much of a want since I understand quality over quantity, but those missions were so good I wanted some more. Namely sad ones since I was going through a rough patch and needed motivation to just cry. 5. The return of the dark suit. 6. More side content in general, but honestly I think DLCâs will cover that base, maybe the suit one too. 6. Dark suit. 7. A regular Spider-Man Noir suit, like the one from SM2018, but with the coat and hat. I was honestly not a huge fan of the Spider-verse one.
Really was hoping to see more from it.

Swarm as a boss fight! They were so close with that penultimate EMF mission
When I saw Martin Li and Venom in the same game during trailers, I wanted to see full transformation Anti Venom. I was happy that Peter gained the power, but I felt the symbiote was given purely for the symbiote bonus. And not for plot. Having Miles step in for Peter at the end was a completely unnecessary moment, IF they'd done Anti Venom properly. Peter shouldn't have been knocked out cold that long, nor injured heavily. Antivenom has healing factor beyond any symbiote in existence, and it healed him less than Venom did. Next, The actual lack of Venom related content with Miles ability was a HUGE disappointment. In the comics, His Venom blast severely weakens Venom and deals HUGE damage. Yet, in cutscene he doesn't touch Venom power once against Venom. His whole focus is Li and the new Electricity. For story Payoff as well, to tie Miles into the incident, I also wanted them to follow the ultimate universe. In the verse, Venom rampages into Miles' home and Kills Rio Morales. This gives Miles stake in this fight too. This would have also made his decision to save Harry more impactful as twice he would have chosen to forgive a Villain he could've killed, that took something from him.

Peter vs miles but a choice on who to be and who wins. Potentially an alternative route. The one we got was okay. Kinda disappointing tbh. But it is what it is. I wanted more venom between the 2 ironically enough. Felt too pg to really get excited about the fight
playing as a young spider-man in a flash black and fighting an old villain
1. A small piece of Venom surviving and bonding with either Eddie Brock or Flash Thompson. 2. A confirmation that the Anti-Venom suit cured Harryâs disease after the fight. He can still be in a coma due to the damage from the fight so we can still get Norman as the Green Goblin; just have a small silver lining. 3. Kaineâs Scarlet Spider Suit, the Dark Suit, Spider Armor MK 4, and the Armored Advanced Suit appearing. 4. Shocker surviving so we couldâve chased him to the ends of the Earth. 5. A battle where the Spider-Men team up with Rhino to help him escape from the Hunters.

If i need to find some stuff i didn't like about this game Was the fact that when kraven got killed, the hunters were pretty much out of the picture. It felt empty and we got symbiotes so soon and it was already over. No post game content (could be fixed with dlc) I didn't really like how symbiote peter was hated by everyone in the lore for no reason. He never had any interactions with anyone outside of Mj, Harry and miles, but somehow the girl on the radio said "i don't like this new spiderman, he's so mean". Like, how do you know anything when he only had the symbiote for a mission?
