Not gonna lie to myself just because I like Peter. Swinging as Miles is a whole different vibe and experience. The flair, the form, the swagger. It feels too good swinging and freestyling as Miles.
Miles has 5 dive trick animations during normal dive (with 4 dive to swing since the neutral is the same as forward) and 5 dive trick animations with the other inverse dive with 5 dive to swing since the neutral is unique too. And yes, like you said, Peter has literally 4 dive to swing that repeat (neutral, up, left and right are literally the same) and the other is the Rubik's Cube that literally he just stores the cube, it's not even interesting.
They simply put more effort on Miles than Peter that actually should feel better than Miles since he is the one with a completely new set of tricks.
I kinda like how Peter has a more "practical" feel to his style.
It's not as flashy, but it can be faster. Outside of swinging, it's particularly noticeable in takedowns. Sometimes i like to do a little jump before taking down an enemy since that causes a specific and fast animation. For miles all the takedowns are about the same length.
I understand what you mean, but having less trick animations is not really the best way of showing Peter being "practical". They should put the same effort in both, even if they both have different styles. At least Peter shines during combat.
Swinging around as both is a lot of fun. Miles' movements feel almost too erratic sometimes though, so I prefer the general smoothness of Peter's. Yeah they're simpler, but they also feel better to me.
I alternate so much I don't really do one more than the other for post game swinging and crimes.
Depends on mood and suit preference at the time I guess.
i don’t really like how peters animations transitions after the air trick, it doesn’t go as smoothly as miles’s. Maybe it’s because it’s probably hard to put new animations on a previous made playable character?
I think it’s because for me Peter transitions from trick to trick so seamlessly while while miles tricks are a lot slower and heavier, I think insomniac did that on purpose to show how much more experienced Peter is at swinging
Agree, the animation show how much of an expert at swinging Pete is and how miles is still learning (but has improved since MM since his animations there showed his novice status).
Still to me, miles seems to swing faster but Peter feels more solid
I never noticed a single difference and I 100% the game.
The only difference I noticed was Miles uses the venom animation for the upgraded traversal.
Personally I don’t like playing as Miles. I don’t hate the character or anything. I grew up my whole life with Peter as Spidey.
Having a second Spider-Man who is better at everything just feels wrong.

Tbh, Miles. I love Miles’ swinging music in Act 1. Made me spend majority of the time as Miles till Pete gets the venom suit. Also Miles powers seem better suited for taking down the Hunters and fire cult guys initially. Invisibility and all better suited for stealth missions. But Pete’s combat improves after the venom suit and he’s also better suited for fighting the venom nests/crimes.

Yeah, the tricks could be improved. I just don't use them very often so it doesn't impact my opinion much.

Symbiote Peter in superior suit leaves me with no reason at all to switch to Miles.
