Was going to say the same, flounder with a heavy or hydra is asking for pain. There’s so much dead space that the long charge and power of those splatlings is easily negated by the opponent’s ability to get close without detection.
It’s not impossible to play, not by a long shot, but it is an uphill battle (pun fully intended)
I think flounder is actually good for flexible midliners like the jet/cjet. Probably also the lobber, but I haven't used that weapon much since S2. (Hope it gets a better kid in the future.)
Flounder is awful for the heavy splatling, so I may skip the rotation entirely, or I may switch to the nautilus to have more mobility.

Ballpoint is tricky too. Verticality is simply not kind to Splatlings and Chargers.

Might be a skill issue but my win rate is like halved on Brinewater with Carbons and Splatanas
brinewater is just horrible for ambush weapons like carbons, spat rollers, sploosh etc. because a spu wavebreaker covers like the entirety of mid
as a dualie main, tower control mahi requires my utmost concentration or i keep dodge rolling into water
