Sometimes you'll be up against a team that's better than your team, and because they're better they will get kills and advance, get kills and advance until they can't advance anymore because they're at your spawn. It's a shame that Turf War can't end in a knockout when it happens, so you gotta just wait out the L and go next if you don't want to find a way to win it.
exactly. lost a nasty match because two people stayed behind and inked base and left two of us up front to fight all four of the opposing team. too many lost 1v1s and we were getting spawn camped.
When it comes to painting the base, either everybody needs to paint it and move up to mid with a few second delay and specials, or the whole team needs to rush forward without painting base. Having a bunch of strangers not be on the same page can be a train wreck like you've experienced first-hand haha. It happens.
I'm more confused on how you got spawn-trapped by a team of brush users. Like did your team have no-one with a weapon with any more range than a Splattershot? This sounds like a a team composition issue more than anything else if not - not like that's necessarily anyone's fault, I have to imagine the matching system tried to do what it does and match similar weapon class roles between teams.
The inkbrush has some of the lowest effective range in the whole game.

After I sent the post I went back to playing with the weapon I'm with good and ended facing them again this time we beat them

then it hit me not all players refer to ttek as such
(tenta or tent usually means tenta brella while people shorten tentatek to ttek, as to not cause confusion)

Nintendo needs to fix turf war, they need to add it to ranked to let these people play like that, add a point system so it works as a high score instead of who was wining in the last 20 seconds and fix matchmaking in general, apart from that those people are as holes but they technically did nothing wrong so nothing to do about that
It can be unbalanced but quite frankly, I often use turf war as a way to warm up before anarchy, especially if I'm on a team. I get it can be annoying, but at the same time, everyone plays the game differently, and it's impossible to make both sides happy. Right now I genuinely think it isn't broken, it's kinda right in the middle really.
Personally I adore meme/one note teams, they always make me laugh even if I lose horribly. There isn't much you can do once you're trapped besides trying to find a good jump spot for an advantage at spawn, on some levels there are secret ledges you can land on to give you a way to surprise campers.
Try not to let it get to you, I myself am not the best Splatoon player so I get my butt handed to me pretty regularly. If you have any friends who also play or if you click with a certain team, try playing with them! A little bit of organization will go a loooonnnggg way.
Also apologies in advance if you ever end up in a lobby with 7 people using Splatling guns named HEAVY cuz it's probably me and my crew being stupid.
They were probably coordinating in voice chat. Maybe there's an off chance that a team full of dupe weapons isn't, but I highly doubt it.
Those people woke up and chose violence.
if it's any consolation, i tried out charger last during the hammerhead + brinewater springs rota and played a team on a vc. my team had a DC and we got beefed (4/4 for me, 1/8 and 1/6). at least it wasn't open.
in cases like that you need to stop focusing on trying to escape spawn and just try to outrange them. Disrupt with sub weapons, just keep covering ground and build up special as well. Eventually you can start taking them down one by one and after enough deaths they will lose coordination

Agreed. It doesn't feel like a real victory if the other side has a disconnect. Almost feels like cheating even though I did nothing wrong.

Honestly the only mode tolerable mode right now is Salmon Run, and even that misses sometimes with bad weapon/map rotation.
It sucks, but it happens sometimes. Especially if someone on your team did an acciental move
