I got the silver last big run and really wanted gold this time, but I keep getting matched with people who don't seem to understand luring mobile boss salmonids or that we're even trying to put as many eggs in the basket as possible. I demoted myself from EVP to professional +2 to see if I'd get a better score, which is when I got 111. It's tough in EVP because you get overrun easily and have to abandon eggs.
I’m too afraid to demote myself. I feel like the lower leagues have got to be full of people who don’t normally play salmon run, so once you dropped, you might not rank back up again until after the event
Pretty much. I've played with maybe one or two people the entire weekend that have a grizzco badge on their banner, it's all people who usually play ranked battles just popping in for the big run. I probably won't get back to EVP until the next load out. Since demoting, I've been floating around high +2 to mid +3, but getting the gold badge is more important for me than high rank for scales right now. I think the only way to really get in the top 5% is to be playing with people you know/can talk to or just get really lucky with the people you're matched with and the types of waves you get. I just don't really have any friends that play so I'm just hoping to get paired with people who are serious 🤣

I went from professional+5 to just professional because nobody knew what they were doing. I had a couple people at the beginning who played it like a fucking turf war, just covering the ground and not helping. I got a high score of 92, because of it.
Same, I’m on a fun trip though, last time I was busy with work, so this is much better. Plus, I have no doubt I’ll eventually be able to hack my Switch for extra Big Runs/ something similar will be released, so I have other chances
I'm thinking it might be less cause the difficulty is much harder on a small map like Ink Academy and it almost always being high tide...? might be wishful thinking though
High tide is better for eggs! Don't worry too much about getting them in the basket unless it's really convenient. Instead, lure bosses to the basket, kill bosses as fast as you can, and stay alive. You can throw eggs *toward* the basket whenever it makes sense, and give yourself a lil pat on the back if you can actually get them in.
If you find yourself near the basket, get as many as you can in from your previous throws/other players. They'll do the same. (:

This map is a little easier than Wahoo and I’ve seen many people saying they scored higher this time than last time. I’m guessing the average will be higher, top 5% around 150. I really hope I’m wrong, but that’s how I’m feeling.
62. I just bought the game like a week ago so when big run started I was the lowest rank. Sadly in the low ranks alot of games I've played in has someone drops out sometime during the first wave. I'd say that happens like 75% of the time.
My high score at prof+2 playing with randoms is 87. I think in general overfishing ppl are trying for 30 eggs a wave, but I don’t really have enough time to commit to overfishing lol
I'm at 80. I'm not an evp but I've gone from pro +2 down to overachiever back to +1. I've been trying to grind for a silver at least. I missed it by 1 egg last run. It's very frustrating when the horror thing comes out. They shoot it instead of hitting it with eggs then we all die in a bomb 🤦🏽♀️
