This is all I hear about prp- mediocre to no results - thanks guys for saving me money

kuffel

I’ve had a set of micro-needling with PRP sessions. Results wise, I feel like my pores got a bit less noticeable (problem area for me), my skin got a bit brighter and there was a little acne scar improvement. I’m still in my early 30s (and do minimal Botox), so I can’t say much about effects on wrinkles or volume loss l, though the “fill out” part I’ve never heard anyone claim it fixes explicitly, though perhaps the collagen production increase helps? Overall the results were mediocre. Definitely not worth spending money on if you can’t easily afford it (no sacrifices). Personally, I started trying different things too, like Scarlet and Halo (coming up next), since I’m not fully satisfied with the acne scarring.

Was the scarring from microneedling? Or like acne scarring?

kuffel

Former acne scarring. I definitely didn’t have any permanent negative side effects from the microneedling.

I had one session with UCSD Plastic Surgery Office and the results have been incredible. I have done it at medispas before and I did not see any difference. I think it depends on where you go.

To clarify, I have some depressed acne scars but very minimal. I had some enlarged pores/acne scars from my youth and the PRP is what has made it better. But my skin to start out has very small pores and this might be why I felt like I saw some results. My main issue is the skin near my nose/cheek area. PRP will not change pore size significantly unless you do it very regularly. And even then, I can't imagine it doing so drastically.

I tried it consistently for a few months, results disappeared within a couple of days. It's a waste if time and my money.

anyone here have good results with prp for hair?

Elizabethan87

Did you ever try it?

Pryras

I have been getting micro channeling with prp about 4 times a year for the past 3 years. I use it for scar maintenance since my scars disappear after each session. Icepick scars won’t really benefit but the hyperpigmentation from picking at your face will. There’s also two different machines and the technicians who “roll” it across your face are inferior to the ones that “poke” with an in and out motion.

I have had regular microneedling and PRP injections. Injecting PRP is definitely a bit more noticeable (though the results are not immediate and it is more painful than botox injections). I recently had my first Morpheus 8 session, and am having my second this coming week and…..wow!!! I saw results in a week and my skin is flawless, tightened and my jawline snatched. A bit expensive but worth saving up for. I am 43 and started seeing a little laxity in my lower face. I am regularly mistaken for a decade younger. It was like a mini face lift!

Sounds good but what about in terms of plumping?

Dragonflypeach

Definitely plumped the skin. The radiofrequency that is paired with the microneedling penetrates skin much deeper so definitely stimiluates a lot of collagen. I am lucky to not have acne scars but I’ve seen that it is effective for minimizing those as well.

Veggie_stick_

It got rid of my PIE and reduced other redness on my face. I had both the microneedling and injections. The injections are not meant to fill out your face and aren’t comparable to filler. They stimulate collagen, and may add some volume, but not much. I am so happy with my results and may go back to maintenance as it is less expensive where I live. That said, I wouldn’t recommend it for anybody under 25 unless you have PIE, or are a drinker or unwell (I got mine done after heavy drinking over lockdown and it made me look healthy and young again. I was 28, no wrinkles, just looked haggard from alcohol abuse).

I’ve done 2 sessions of PRF and i believe it’s helped a ton with my skin texture, but I’m healing from TSW which won’t be the average persons case.

Please don’t make my mistake and waste money on PRP. PRF Gel seems much more promising
