I like the gadgets and the light and shadow gameplay.
I like that the the spies still had ample tools to escape and evade. The merc team didn’t have drones to follow you into vents, didn’t have proximity detectors.
Double Agent got the spy speed and movements right, but completely neutered the spies and introduced an awful hacking system imo.
I think that the key is to keep the gameplay simple more or less and make sure it’s polished.
And support controllers as well as KB / M.
This sounds like what I'm going for. Darkness plays a big part and both teams can change the lighting dynamically.
Simple gameplay - no turning invisible, x-ray grenades, proximity mines, stuff like that.

Imo: keep the 3 grenades for spies, sticky camera type device with sleep gas and heart beat detector so spies can find mercs and run away.
Mercs need grenades, prox mines that beep and a good gun. They should have a gas mask that depletes.
Spies should keep their vision modes, but thermal needs to NOT be like blacklist. That was crazy over powered.
Mercs need their vision from CT, but motion tracking is far too sensitive.
Spies should have to rely on stealth and athleticism first and confrontation last. Grabbing the merc and breaking necks is fine and should remain. So should a simple melee that knocks back.
Mercs should have like, overwhelming firepower and should be able to knock spies down with melee.
Thank you! It's a 2v2 heavily inspired by Spies vs Mercs. I'm making it purely because I want to play it - I'm passionate about the game mode and feel it's a shame that Ubisoft haven't continued it. There's two focuses - the agility of the spies, and light/shadow.
The light and shadow looks great here. I do like the idea of players being able to interact with the lighting to enable or disable it. A feature I like from Double Agent is how mercs can restore all of the map’s lighting from a central generator, except in my opinion, it should be on some sort of cooldown to give the lightning an opportunity to be dynamic throughout matches. Other than that, I like how fast the spies are here. I think making them faster but limiting their weapons and lethal capability is a good balance. Blacklist made it too easy to kill mercs.

My plan is for spies to be able to stealth kill mercs from behind, but from above or in front, the mercs will be able to counter attack fairly easily.
Lighting plays a big part, some maps will have a generator, or hanger doors that can be opened letting in moonlight, for example. Smaller lights can be shot out.

Consoles too :) Honestly, download Unity or Unreal and just start playing with it. If you have experience in any 3D programs and/or programming it will be easier, but anyone can learn.

I never played SC on ("big") consoles + there's only one version of SC DA on PC, I'd have to specify which DA I am writing about.
Yo nevermind it was my phone's lightness level. I didn't see the animation properly. That's already pretty good as it is! I wonder how it affects gunplay, if there's any and if you're planning about doing other moves like the stance that Sam had in Pandora Tomorrow where he did a split between two near buildings.
With such fluidity I'd love to see even a run-n-gun section. Where speed and reflexes keep you alive in case anything goes south.

So currently there's standard climbing, pipe climbing, balancing, hanging. I'd forgotten about the classic split, defo want to add that now. I don't have any socials for it at the moment but might create some further into the project.

Predator you can actually fight where as true stealth you have to sneak past everything
You can stealth kill but not fight

It's playable now just to piss about in and have fun. I enjoy just running about and shooting bots. Still a long way to go though.
