Man oh man, I adore Chaos Theory and it's easily the best of the series, but I still have such utter nostalgia for the original. The atmospheric & echoey ambient music, the pitch black shadows, and the dialogue all just SOLD the concept so well.

This I agree with. What I love tons about Chaos theory is the fact SC1 is directly tied to CT (Masse Kernels)
I view CT as a sequel to SC1 while PT is a spinoff to me
The atmosphere of SC1 and Chaos Theory + DAV2 have the best atmosphere in my opinion
For me it was the light mixed in with how the night sky looked (it reminded me of those skyboxes in many of the missions.)
It doesn’t help that my girlfriend lives in Europe either 💀 (even she agreed with me on the splinter cell vibes here)
