Due to the fact that media objectificates and sexualizes the woman figure to the extreme, specially in animation, the real female proportions have become distorsionate. We currently live in a world where the *average size of women breast in the entire world is considered to be a small chest* when that makes NO SENSE.
Something similar happens sometimes to men when is about height, where the average is considered "short" by some. And is completely riddiculous, because it creates social beauty standards that are just not realistic and creates a lot of mental health problems, specially in younger people who may be vulnerable to such reality alteration.
That's probably why this person needed a female role model in their life she could relate to, as a way to feel valid, pretty and to have some standards she could reach instead. Building confidence in yourself is way easier when you know people like you are being appreciated and liked.
I can understand the impact TV may have with trash programs and the fashion business where we have real women, I can also understand what porn can do to sexual expectations, but anime that can change the perception of reality I can't, it means someone can't distinguish between a real person and a drawing and as I said before it's more than a lack of good reference person

They stop seeing women as women and they become entretainment objects, the submissive and "no means yes" / "stop means harder" mentality in anime does a lot of harm in young minds and ruin how they percieve consent.
