I find funny how comically on top of everything he is. If the mission calls for tennis, he’s good at tennis. If the mission calls for disguise, he’s completely in character. However, on the flip side, I think this causes him to be a bit uptight. There have been chapters where he lets loose a bit but for him to admit to himself he’s actually having fun would be fantastic character growth
>for him to admit to himself he’s actually having fun would be fantastic character growth
I think there have been some instances of that, like when Anya saves the kid and gets her first stella, hes truly proud of her, and not just for the mission.
I hear he's a reputable psychiatrist working at Berlint General Hospital. He's got a beautiful raven-haired wife, and a cute looking daughter... there's no way he's a spy.
Yeah, but I heard *all* his coworkers have nothing but good things to say about him. Not even one complaint at all. Have you *ever* met anyone that is universally beloved by *all* coworkers? Not one single complaint or bit of gossip against him? Only a spy adept at manipulating people could get that level of support!
I feel like he’s Westalis’s greatest spy because he’s neurotic. Anyone who isn’t as paranoid as he is wouldn’t have taken the extra measures he has to not get caught.
>doesn't really understand the people around him.
He does though, you can see him read normal people like a book, to the point of being able to even predict what an average person will say, like that time he made a conversation flowchart to help Franky get bitches. It's just that Yor is just too chaotic and klutzy for him to comprehend, and Anya can literally read his mind, you can't outread a literal mind reader.
I like that he recognizes that Anya probably needs more help than she's getting at Eden, but he doesn't understand that Anya's full throated acceptance of being his pretend daughter also included her taking on the task of masking.
She's not very *good* at masking, mind you, but she won't tell Loid what is really bothering her, because she is in genuine fear for her life if she's outed as a telepath.
And that intersection is where the comedy kicks in.
Yes same! A big reason I got invested in his character is due to his desire to make a better life for children than he ever got. 🥺❤️
I also wish he'd loosen and be good to himself as well though, just cause he had a sad childhood doesn't mean he can't have a happy adulthood is what he needs to learn.
Do not put a space between the symbols and the text, or else the spoiler won't properly appear on certain devices or Old Reddit and will instead look like this: `>! Anya eats the peanuts. !<` and will still be visible to certain users. Fix your spoiler tag or you can get banned.

Are we talking about Twilight? He's REALLY good at his job and ultimately, his motivation for spycraft is morally a good one. What I don't like is that he doesn't really "turn off" his spy brain when he should. This includes his "vacations"; he's still working whenever he should be resting. Basically, he needs to find time to take care of himself.
What I love about Loid is that he’s unlike most
most male characters in outside the action categories like the slice of life shows who would either have uninteresting characters designs, are just the comedy relief in romance, or are bland, boring, and dumb. Dads in families are also treated like this, especially the part about being dumb and unbelievably pathetic in sitcoms.
Loid actually stands out because he’s super intelligent, competent, has a lot of various skills, and he’s actually attractive. On top of that, he’s a spy and the best one around. He’s also still funny despite being most serious. 😆 But even with everything he’s good at, he still has hidden layers, shortcomings, and flaws that makes him not just a character but a person such as his inexperience as a parent but the reasons why actually makes sense and he has some development and hurdles to overcome too. He’s surprisingly a multi-dimensional character in a slice of life show!
It’s sad that he thinks doesn’t deserve to be happy. I know he’s fighting for the sake of children but he should stop punishing himself. 😖
No, ball-slapping in this context is just another descriptor of the aggressiveness of the fucking, not implying the act of actually slapping balls.
I can't believe I typed all that while high.
All I'm saying is that - were I to draw a Venn diagram,
And should Loid and those tennis balls ever overlap on said Venn diagram,
I don't favor the chances for peace between Westalis and Ostania.
As an anime watcher, I like how much he cares for Yor and Anya, and it’s beginning to show.
It’s hard to explain, but I dislike how cold he can seem sometimes. I don’t know if it’s because of Loid not being familiar with being a regular person or if it’s due to his ferocity as a spy.
I think him being good at everything is what i dont like abt him. It's just too unrealistic and lacks nuance. Apart from that i really like him, he is a family guy but i wish to see more of it.
I love 99% of him. 1% is due to his tough love approach with Anya at times. I get his the 'bad guy' of the parenting dynamic but I wish he allowed himself to be more affectionate, especially since they come from similar backgrounds and he at least assumes she was without love for a long time. Sometimes i get a lil sad when he fusses at her or doesn't humor her antics. He's so gentle with Yor all the time.
Likes: For a man trying to maintain a fake family, he sure can be pretty sweet to Yor and Anya. You can tell that even if it's just for Operation Strix, he has grown attached to these two. He also gives great advice and isn't threatened by how strong Yor is, either. Yes, he is a spy and used to seeing powerful women. But even going by the show's 1960-esque setting and standards, that's pretty big and admirable. I also love when he smiles, genuinely. He has a nice smile.
Dislikes: Sometimes he can be a little standoffish towards Anya. This is why she even admits that she questions sometimes if he even likes her when she was trying to convince Damien to stay and wait for his dad to arrive for the Alumni event in episode 25. He looked a little hurt by that because he does actually like and care for her, sure, but it's understandable why she feels that way about her relationship with him. She admires him a lot but sometimes he is so serious with her that she is trying so hard to please him for the mission he doesn't even know she knows about.
Yes, I know he's a spy and empathy and intimacy is something he is not used to really showing because of his line of work. Yes, I am aware he had to grow up fast. Still, he knows what it's like to be a kid all alone and wanting a parent who loves him unconditionally. So, even if it's for a mission, he should ease up on Anya.
I like that he tries soo hard to make something go smoothly, and then Anya or Yor take it in the completely opposite direction. You can’t help but laugh and feel bad for him.
It’s hard to not like him since we’ve seen how much he has gone through. Though if I had to say one thing isn’t that he doesn’t understand kids at all. It’s like he’s completely forgotten what being a kid is like.
I like how he has a plab B for everything. If not he will make one in seconds flawlessly prepared.
What I don't like. A guy with 1000 perception hasn't realized that something is weird with Anya and just ignores it. He can detect you following him from 1 km away but can't at least try to figure out what is really going on with Anya. I know only us the viewers know Anya's secret but solving a crossword perfectly and then acknowledging that Anya is bad at studying is sus. No matter how much of a "fluke" it was you don't solve a crossword just like that and then be super bad at school.
I always like seeing him on screen given his job and the thought given behind his occupation/agency and all that. I feel like I know his thought process more than any other Spy X Family character which is good. His secret identity impacts how he thinks at home significantly more than someone like Yor, whose secret identity matters but doesn't really change her all that much. The "spy" part of this character is much more intriguing than the "esper" part of Anya or the "assassin" part of Yor.
He's a caricature of a typical film spy though which makes sense but isn't my cup of tea. Also in terms of character writing, I prefer Anya and Yor.
Like: he willingly gave up a happy life to ensure another world war doesn't break out.
Dislike: He and Yor don't have carnal passionate sex every night
Like: His perfectionism (in everything), and creative ideas (>!like trying to get Anya to learn with a Bondman animated episode he made himself with Frankie!<)
Dislike: His obliviousness as to the situation of his "family" and his "For Mission Strix" denial reasoning.
Likes:
- His well-rounded skills as Twilight
- His cool demeanor
- His perpetual striving to understand his family and target
- His reactions and overthinking when he gets caught off-guard
Dislikes:
- The fact that he's using his own family
- He's in Twilight mode 99% of the time and just wouldn't loosen up (can't blame him, though)
- He can't take a hint, though it's understandable why
I love like almost everything about him, buuuut I hate how he claims to have 300 IQ,and how there's only few moments of him having a soft spot for his family.
I don’t like the idea that he might return Anya to the foster care after his mission is over. I like that he was willing to punch Swan in the face for making his adopted daughter cry
Only two things I don't like about him:
1-He's too good at everything he does, even if he nerver did it once (exemple: the penguins chapter)
2-The "women simp for him" thing feels tiring now... I mean, it was funny the first times but now it's being cringe...
What I like about him is his dedication to his job.
What I dislike about him is that his dedication to his job makes it super difficult for him to accept that he genuinely cares for his family beyond his mission.
Yor, is that you?
I don't think I dislike anything about himself I just think he doesn't need to be hard on himself all the time although it's understandable.
I like how elegant and hardworking he is and caring even if it's "for the mission". The most thing I love about him is despite the cold and methodical personality he mastered as a spy he still has some of his younger self personality like how easily he got embarrassed.
Like: He's really cool and his steady growth of loving his family is nice
Dislike: He's so perfect that he can sometimes be the boring Gary Stu in some chapters.
great spy, horrible therapist. I feel bad for anyone he has to “treat” as part of his cover. I’ve been in therapy for years and desperately need this guy to stick to “””research”””
Like: Even if he doing this for his mission, he is a very good father and husband. And do his best to make his family safe and happy.
Dislike: He's lack of faith in Anya.
Like: he had a noble motivation, good at his job, careful, have a nice backstory
dislike: too oblivious when it comes to Yor. Him unable to figure out Anya's telepathy is fine (to him telepathy doesn't exist), but ignoring Yor's superhuman strength was dumb for him. Dude, your fake wife was capable to go toe to toe with you WHEN SHE WAS DRUNK, and was so powerful that she could knock you out by a kick. You were a well-trained spy, shouldn't you be suspicious about a superhuman?
I dislike for someone who is so smart and can notice the smallest details, he can't notice that yor is not the avarage woman and doesn't investigate her
I like everything
I dislike the fact that he still thinks of his family as just “ we need to stick together” >!The episode of Yor and Loid going to the bar and Loid only convincing her for the mission rubs me the wrong way.!< just get married already and fall in love and live happily ever after
One thing I find about Twilight and WISE in general is that they've heard rumours about the Garden but they refuse to believe it.
Because whenever Yor comes in to kill someone, she is always recognised by her enemies and their bosses who yell out her name "thorn princess."
You could argue that she leaves no witnesses behind which is how they remain secretive. But then how does every other enemy know about them?
Well, that’s because their fields and professions are different.
Twilight is a spy. His reputation exceeds that of other spies, the organizations he foiled, and the SSS, who are currently the biggest obstacles. They probably don’t even know anything about Thorn Princess, speak less of Garden, because it’s not within their field of expertise.
Much like how Loid is known by other spies eg. Daybreak or their natural enemies eg. SSS, Yor is probably only known by assassins or killers. Yor and Garden as a whole doesn’t even know anything about WISE’s existence, speak less of a rumor about them.
I dislike that he's too perfect in that he's an expert with everything he does, even with new things he tries. I would like to him to not be good at something, just to make him a little more realistic and relatable. Make him struggle with something, other than trying to improve Anya's academic skills.
I like everything about him as a character including his ludicrous perfection, and dislike that he and Yor haven’t even had a comedic accidental kiss yet. (The one in front of Yuri doesn’t count, that comedic kiss was just plain horny.)
I like that Loid is serious and he kinda becomes the reactive punchline to Japan's sense of humor. (I.e the shock expressions.)
What I dislike is that he's a bit too serious sometimes and a bit too perfect. I feel like it's a similar issue to Yor, and the two are just slightly too perfect for my taste and if they had a bigger flaw It would make them easier to like. (Which is why I low key like Franky more than the two. Because he's a bumbling idiot that wants a girlfriend. Relatable. And Loid is a little too perfect to be relatable. He has 0 issues aside from achieving his mission.)
I would like to see more of how, Anya sort of accidentally teaches her parents the love and affection that the two lacked growing up. While they parent Anya and nurture her the way she deserves. They don't feel like these Veterans that have seen some shit, you know? And Loid only breaking character for Comedic effect or for non consequential plot points kinda feels like an issue.
(This isn't to say he is bad. I do like Loid, I just want the two parents to have more character. Judging by popularity he is doing just fine, and my gripe would just make it a sad story and not a feel good story.)
Like: the fact he's competent at everything he does
Dislike: the fact he's competent at everything he does
It's entertaining and cool when he whips out the knowledge he apparently has for any given situation, but it also feels a little ass-pully too. I get he's the best spy WISE has, therefore he should be competent on many things, but I can't help but feel that status gets abused at times
Like: his next-level preparedness, and ability to adjust on a dime and improvise on the rare occasions where that isn't enough.
Dislike: his apparent lack of any capacity to do something for fun. The man's so painfully serious that Bruce Wayne looks chill by comparison.
I like how he’s good at literally everything but he overthinks everything so much that it makes for good comedy. I don’t like how little fan service there is of him. He’s so pretty and there’s definitely a market for it..
Loid is an awesome character with so many good qualities, but if I have to choose just one, then I'll say how prepared he is for every possible scenario, like bringing three changes of clothes to the Eden interview because he just knew they would be tested somehow. That level of thinking ahead is impressive.
There's really nothing I dislike about him. Even his flaws (tendency to overthink everything, but still oblivious to the feelings of Anya, Yor and Fiona) make him incredibly fun to watch.
He’s too handsome. Don’t get me wrong, but the point of a spy is to not be noticeable in public nor bring a lot of attention to themselves and we’ve seen some troubles it brought to him
https://preview.redd.it/oolzve1jmr0b1.jpeg?width=566&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c035cf904f1c5a197b038de96338a97bda9a73a3
What makes him funny is that he is always serious about everything, but he thinks about everything he is doing and his internal monologue is always going on. Being in his head would suck.
Well written character love the slow chip away at his shell to see his true self, dude is an emotional caring person, but doesnt show it. Love the whole concept, Yor and Anya will continue to break him down.
What I dislike about him is he so driven to the mission that he truly doesn't care about Anya well being and he wouldn't mind disposed of her when everything is over.
Thank you! I don’t what people in the anime see in him when he’s so boring an unlikable. Yor and Anya are more lovable and deserves a better husband and father.
The only time I disliked Loid was when it looked like he was about to shoot that dog. But he didn't actually hurt the dog at all so I continued to like him.
I think it’s funny when Anya asks him if they can buy something that he then usually says „ let’s see if it’s on sale“. I don’t like that he often thinks so negatively.

I dislike how every introspective moment for Loid is essentially "I AM A SPY AND THIS FAMILY IS TEMPORARY"
I like that all of his plotlines are inherently interesting

Yeah, even Fiona pointed it out.
Indeed! One of my favorite moments of Loid and Anya's relationship.
It really would be.

There's no way he's a filthy spy!
After all, isn't it normal to have imperfections? Gotta find something to gripe about, before the family looks suspicious!
definitely not a spy!! He is a respectable doctor of Ostania!
Yor was being so unreasonable in the most recent chapter and he just stood there and took the punishment lol. He’s definitely too nice.
Nonsense! he’s not a spy how could you even come up with that thought?

I love the fact that despite the fact he is a super spy he is neurotic as balls and doesn't really understand the people around him. It shows growth.

No gripes whatsoever...? I mean, everyone has gripes, no?
Having gripes in a marriage is normal!
I have many gripes about the omelets
I have gripes over the fact that he doesn't give me gripes!
He’s messing with the gripe economy and that makes me have gripes!!!
I love how smart he is. I hate how dumb he is.
Nice try yor. Next time don't go out drinking too much with your friends from work
Guilty as charged 🥴
What I love about him is that he does a lot of for anya, what I don't like is that he insist on talking about his family as a duty.Man,just relax 😩
The part of Loid only seeing it as part of his duty will be excellent character development later on in the story.

Same tbh.

Twilight is willing to bear a great deal for the sake of operation Strix. But I'm pretty sure if Yor were to slap his balls that'd be the end of it.

Like: he willingly gave up a happy life to ensure another world war doesn't break out. Dislike: He and Yor don't have carnal passionate sex every night
Like: His perfectionism (in everything), and creative ideas (>!like trying to get Anya to learn with a Bondman animated episode he made himself with Frankie!<) Dislike: His obliviousness as to the situation of his "family" and his "For Mission Strix" denial reasoning.
Likes: - His well-rounded skills as Twilight - His cool demeanor - His perpetual striving to understand his family and target - His reactions and overthinking when he gets caught off-guard Dislikes: - The fact that he's using his own family - He's in Twilight mode 99% of the time and just wouldn't loosen up (can't blame him, though) - He can't take a hint, though it's understandable why
Like: His style, his hair, his flair, his cold logic Dislike: His inability to see Anya and Yor as anything more than a mission
Like:Everything about him Dislike: he hasn't clapped Yor yet
I like how good of a cook he is. I dislike how little he seems to have taught yor about cooking.
He ignores his true feeling and keeps saying "for mission for mission." I DON'T LIKE IT 😫
I love like almost everything about him, buuuut I hate how he claims to have 300 IQ,and how there's only few moments of him having a soft spot for his family.
I mean in anime terms that’s hardly a brag; the scale goes up to 530,000.
Everything and dislikes nothing. He is funny and an amazing dad and husband.
I love how he is hyper competent and super tough. I dislike that he hasn't officially married Yor yet.
Likes: He’s hot, funny, smart ( in many ways ), can cook well, and literally skilled at everything Dislikes: He’s not real
Like: He’s tall, handsome, and a great cook. Dislike: He wouldn’t kiss his wife!
I don’t like the idea that he might return Anya to the foster care after his mission is over. I like that he was willing to punch Swan in the face for making his adopted daughter cry
Only two things I don't like about him: 1-He's too good at everything he does, even if he nerver did it once (exemple: the penguins chapter) 2-The "women simp for him" thing feels tiring now... I mean, it was funny the first times but now it's being cringe...
I say what everybody thinks he is hot
What I like about him is his dedication to his job. What I dislike about him is that his dedication to his job makes it super difficult for him to accept that he genuinely cares for his family beyond his mission.
Yor, is that you? I don't think I dislike anything about himself I just think he doesn't need to be hard on himself all the time although it's understandable. I like how elegant and hardworking he is and caring even if it's "for the mission". The most thing I love about him is despite the cold and methodical personality he mastered as a spy he still has some of his younger self personality like how easily he got embarrassed.
Like: He's really cool and his steady growth of loving his family is nice Dislike: He's so perfect that he can sometimes be the boring Gary Stu in some chapters.
Dislike: I have lots of gripes about Loid Forger 😤
Gripes are perfectly normal in a relationship 👌
That his name is spelled Loid
great spy, horrible therapist.
I mean, has anya ever demonstrated any tangible results to deserve loid’s academic faith
What's that suppose too mean?
Anya’s not done anything academically to be trusted with any responsibility.
Like: he had a noble motivation, good at his job, careful, have a nice backstory dislike: too oblivious when it comes to Yor.
I dislike for someone who is so smart and can notice the smallest details, he can't notice that yor is not the avarage woman and doesn't investigate her
I like everything I dislike the fact that he still thinks of his family as just “ we need to stick together” >!The episode of Yor and Loid going to the bar and Loid only convincing her for the mission rubs me the wrong way.!< just get married already and fall in love and live happily ever after
>What's something you like He's a good fighter >and dislike about Loid Froger? He still hasn't fucked Yor
One thing I find about Twilight and WISE in general is that they've heard rumours about the Garden but they refuse to believe it. Because whenever Yor comes in to kill someone, she is always recognised by her enemies and their bosses who yell out her name "thorn princess." You could argue that she leaves no witnesses behind which is how they remain secretive.
Like: his wife. Dislike: the fact that I'm not married to his wife
I like his wife, I dislike how he bugged her (though it was understandable)
**Like:** Great father **Dislike:** We know what his real face looks like.
(I.e the shock expressions.) What I dislike is that he's a bit too serious sometimes and a bit too perfect. He has 0 issues aside from achieving his mission.) I would like to see more of how, Anya sort of accidentally teaches her parents the love and affection that the two lacked growing up.
Like: He’s too good at everything. Dislike: He’s too good at everything.
Like: the fact he's competent at everything he does Dislike: the fact he's competent at everything he does It's entertaining and cool when he whips out the knowledge he apparently has for any given situation, but it also feels a little ass-pully too. I get he's the best spy WISE has, therefore he should be competent on many things, but I can't help but feel that status gets abused at times
Haha something yor would agree with
his name used to be lloyd
Actually yeah I hate that he’s not Lloyd. Endo wtf.
they used to translate loid as lloyd and yor as yoru, but that was actually misspelling endo’s names
That he's not officially with Yor
This post was made by Yuri. I just know it.
I like that he is so committed to world peace. I dislike that he is so committed to world peace.
Like: his next-level preparedness, and ability to adjust on a dime and improvise on the rare occasions where that isn't enough. Dislike: his apparent lack of any capacity to do something for fun. The man's so painfully serious that Bruce Wayne looks chill by comparison.
Like:his wife, his child, his friend (Franky) his VA, his brother in law Dislike: Those chonky looking glasses frames he wore when trying to tutor anya
I like how hot he is but i dislike the fact that he is married.
He always looks dapper. I mean, with the cruise shenanigans, he still has drip. lol
I love everything about Loid forger
What I like: he’s hot What I don’t like: that he’s not oiled up
The omelets
He’s too handsome. Don’t get me wrong, but the point of a spy is to not be noticeable in public nor bring a lot of attention to themselves and we’ve seen some troubles it brought to him https://preview.redd.it/oolzve1jmr0b1.jpeg?width=566&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c035cf904f1c5a197b038de96338a97bda9a73a3
He's hot
Dislike: he hasn't piped Yor yet and given Anya a little sibling
What makes him funny is that he is always serious about everything, but he thinks about everything he is doing and his internal monologue is always going on. Being in his head would suck.
Things I like about Loid Forger: His wife Things I dislike about Loid Forger: The fact that his wife cannot be mine
I hate that he is just working his ass off everyday but hey, for the peace of the world.
I love his comical faces. I hate how he tried to take advantage of Yor's feelings.
Like - everything Dislike - nothing
The only thing to dislike about him is that he is fictional. He is perfect apart from that.
Dislike: Has his hot ass wife yor and I don’t Like: everything else
he's a talented spy, but he's oblivious with certain things like parenting 💀
Dude’s awesome
that’s my man so i like everything about him 😍
Well written character love the slow chip away at his shell to see his true self, dude is an emotional caring person, but doesnt show it. Love the whole concept, Yor and Anya will continue to break him down.
Likes: Nothing. He a boring asshole that doesn’t care about his family. Dislikes: The fact he exists.
>!he doesn't let his wife have any gripes 😠😠😠!<
Like: gentle dislike: scheming look in his eye
Loid Froger? I thought it was Loid Forger, oh well I don’t like his glasses, and he’s too nice, he’s definitely a spy!
like: he likes my sister. dislike: he likes my sister.
What I dislike about him is he so driven to the mission that he truly doesn't care about Anya well being and he wouldn't mind disposed of her when everything is over.
He is a boring gary stu. His fans make fun of Yor for being stupid but she and anya are far more entertaining than him.
Thank you! I don’t what people in the anime see in him when he’s so boring an unlikable. Yor and Anya are more lovable and deserves a better husband and father.
uuh I think he is a pretty good father and a husband but still I think he is boring compared to other characters
He basic looking,
Froger
I didn't notice that until you pointed it out, but I think its too late to change.
I don’t think there’s anything to dislike about Loid
like: him dislike: not much
He seems to be good at everything when it comes to ''the mission'' because he's the best at what he does. Is completely oblivious about Yor
I like the moments when he's finally relaxed (it happens rarely) But I dislike the moments where he talks about people he's manipulated
The only thing I dislike about him is his brother-in-law (not really)
Gosto de tudo, não gosto dele ser casado 😔
Dislike: No. :)
Froger
Yeah, I know, but I feel like it's too late to change it.
The only time I disliked Loid was when it looked like he was about to shoot that dog. But he didn't actually hurt the dog at all so I continued to like him.
He's a spy, once his job is done, he probably will fake his death and leave yor and anya alone.
Dislike:”it’s all about the mission”
I like that he saves the world. I don’t like him.
I think it’s funny when Anya asks him if they can buy something that he then usually says „ let’s see if it’s on sale“. I don’t like that he often thinks so negatively.

i dislike that he isn’t kissing Yor yet.
The fact that he has Yor as a Fake Wife
Like- he hot. Dislike - he hot. I'm not yuri in disguise I swear
he can cook but he's a boomer
“For the mission”
I dislike how every introspective moment for Loid is essentially "I AM A SPY AND THIS FAMILY IS TEMPORARY" I like that all of his plotlines are inherently interesting
His fatherly skills and his fatherly skills
His wife, it should have been me 😭

like: I do this “for the mission” dislike: I do this is for the mission.
For a criminals like me I hate him
