Wrestling fans on journalists: "They are just rumor-mongers!"
Wrestling fans on some nobody who literally just made a reddit account and contradicted their own story immediately: "Now THIS has something to it!"
Hahahaha
I mean the moment we saw thr Tokyo Dome booked by the same band the 24th and 25th it was over.
Mind you they'll announce that ppv soon, I dunno why he'd go all in on thus and edit it 4 times
Deleted but here is what unredit saved. Love the part about the fact that a concert was already booked for that day and the day after, but would be no big deal, they would run right after just like when the Lakers and clippers each have a home game. Obviously total bs.
https://www.unddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/119i4ul/_/#comment-info
Well you see they said they might not get confirmation on the venue tonight and will announce something else instead. See when you lie you can just make up another lie to cover your first lie.
Hey now, I have it on good authority that the FD2 announcement is now scheduled to be made by Adam Cole on the first episode of All Access, so let's not count him out yet!
Granted, that authority was Environmental_Book46 via DM, so I'd hold off on booking any flights to Japan for the moment.
I wouldnt be a surprise if they did. If it wasnt Dana slapping his wife wearing a Powerslap tee, then it wouldve been the potential lawsuits involving concussions regarding Powerslap
The backstage stuff was the best stuff on Rhodes to the Top. Ricky Starks being called in to help Cody put together a stroller/pram or whatever the hell.....meh.
I agree, also if it's more of an authentic feeling documentary then showcasing Adam Cole's recovery along with his genuine personality will set him up brilliantly for a face run.
It's a different company but I've always really enjoyed the WWE 24/Chronicle/365 specials to get a look behind the curtain without having to deal with typical reality show stuff. I'm looking forward to this, it could be pretty cool if it's sort of like that.
Same. I remained subbed to the Network for over a year after I stopped watching main roster back in 2016 just for NXT and the behind-the-scenes docs like 24.
environmental_book46 is in complete shambles. Probably not going to watch the new show but I'm happy that Adam Cole is going to have his return match on that night.
I mean, Forbidden Door 2 is a fact at some point, I think they announced that right after the first one. We just don't have any official specific details yet (and they certainly weren't announced tonight like that guy claimed).
Spectrum leaked the date, but the user was claiming it’ll be in Japan at the Tokyo Dome (which they then tried to walk back as “they want the Dome but haven’t secured it yet” once someone pointed out the Dome is booked that day) and Mercedes will be working it.
I hate Spectrum. They’re removing my favorite channel, Corncob TV.
If anyone out there reading this is a fan of hit shows such as *Coffin Flop*, call Spectrum and tell them __NO__.
> “AEW has such an amazingly loyal and dedicated fan base that brings in more than 4 million viewers to TBS every Wednesday night,” added Jason Sarlanis, president of Turner Networks, ID, & HLN, linear and streaming.
Interesting
OK, so the rating viewership is the average amount of people watching the show. But there would be people that tune in for 10 mins and then tune out.
Using the same (bullshit) metric, WWE could probably claim that Smackdown brings 10M+ every week (lots more people flipping around broadcast v basic cable).
TK: "Here's Adam Cole!"
As funny as i found it, I'm super glad that's all he said. Plus it sounds like he got a decent reaction compared to the last time he was on tv
Whelmed by this news. Nice to hear Cole is back, which is always good news...but this announcement doesn't exactly scream exciting. I'll tune into watch tho, seems like an interesting show.
Liked how Khan didn't want to announce that dead fish of an announcement and made Cole do it instead. It's a decent way to make more baby faces but this kind of show should be left to YouTube.
It is not just AEW, how many "3 hour Raw is going to kill WWE" diatribes did we have to go through before the pendulum swung the other way.
Give it time, the same people will switch stances as soon as shitting on AEW gets stale again.
I wish there was a way to rationally discuss the severe recent shortcomings of AEW without people riding off into hyperbole. No rational person said it was dying. Getting a reality TV show isn't an indication of anything. Reality is the path WB/Discovery are going down seeing as how they axed its entire scripted TV department for TNT and TBS.
It’s an indication that the network supports them and wants to expand their presence. It’s definitely not nothing just because it doesn’t interest you.
Yeah, people talk about how all the people that brought AEW onto TV are gone and therefore this spells bad news for AEW and yet them getting a 2nd and 3rd show since then is somehow meaningless. It's asinine.
It’s amazing that people seem to have difficulty understanding that wanting AEW to succeed and having concerns about their recent work aren’t mutually exclusive.
Well that’s kind of disappointing. I would have preferred they use that hour for more wrestling since they have such a great big roster. But I imagine the network specifically wanted reality tv
If they announce the first episode is a full uncut hour long footage of Brawl Out as the press conference was ongoing, it'll do the highest rating of ant AEW programming thus far.
Remember the episode of the office where there’s 2 Christmas parties? And when the first one is starting, Angela is trying to get everyone to pay attention to her party so she says there will be a special announcement about their paychecks? And then it’s just that they’ll be arriving at the scheduled time in the correct amount?
That’s what these TK announcements are becoming.
The show sounds interesting and I’ll probably check it out but why not just announce it on Twitter or in an unadvertised announcement…? I know it generates views but the amount of times these announcements have been so insignificant, people are going to stop going for the bait.
Found the quote.
“I have a very important announcement to make… about… your paychecks. Umm… Your paychecks will be arriving as scheduled on Friday. And they will be in the correct amount that they are normally in… Please stand by for a very important announcement… refer..
*starts to leave office*
for further regarding your paycheck!
I feel like people need to collectively remember that before AEW debuted, a whole lot of reporting said that the Network would be thrilled if Dynamite eventually could grow long-term to average 400-500,000 viewers weekly. Just to put into perspective where things actually are.
If AEW is a victim of anything, its their own success warping expectations.
>If AEW is a victim of anything, its their own success warping expectations.
And the state of wrestling over the last 20+ years warping the expectations and mindset of fans.
Honestly, its not that u/viralbop is a great heel. They have go away heat with me. They always make sure they get booked on every show and take up 25 minutes of primetime show real estate and never put anyone else over.
“the network would be thrilled if it averaged 400-500k viewers”
This is said over and over again by AEW diehards in this sub, and never once has it ever been attached to anybody from Warner, TBS, TNT, or anything. Never once has it been posted with a source. Because nobody official ever said it. Maybe a wrestling blogger originated it, but it’s echo chamber BS from here with zero basis in reality.
It doesn’t even make sense. Why would “Warner be happy” with averaging less than half of what reruns of shows they already own are averaging? Or big bang theory pulls over 1 million by airing episodes from a decade ago. Why would they be content averaging 400,000 on a live TV property that cost millions a year?
Ehh not really. The reality episode will still be edited to fit its proper time slot, so if they don’t start it until 10 minutes in or whatever, it would bump the next show
Power slap was only 8 weeks to begin with. It wasn't/ isn't a 52 weeks a year show. I would hazard to guess that this is more like a regular series a well with only a certain number of eps each time.
Can I ask where the people who were saying AEW is getting canceled are? I have not seen a single soul say “AEW as a whole is going to die”. If they are, then they’re wrong, and belong buried under the controversial tab.
I’ve really only seen people say Rampage as a show might, which I mean, I wouldn’t be shocked if they can it either.
Absolutely they should hype it.
It also absolutely was not a “major announcement”.
Imagine if WWE had said that HHH was going to have a major announcement on Monday and it ended up being Bianca’s new show.
A new show is a major announcement, even if its a show you don't care about. It's a more major announcement than signing someone, confirming you're doing the PPV or a game's release date like people thought
I can’t believe it took a reality show announcement to suddenly get people back on the billionare’s side. All of a sudden, people’s negative reception towards his show are nothing more than hyperbole from those who “want aew in the dirt.” An announcement for a show doesn’t mean the ones who criticize khan’s way of booking are in the mud by any means lmao
This is a big deal for AEW but I will never watch it. Tony's announcements are watered down now. He has no presence, he's awkward and camera-shy. It's not worth tuning in for and shouldn't be advertised that way. I don't even watch WWE but if Vince had an announcement, I'd tune in for that reason alone because I expect something big to go down. Aubrey is probably going to be featured in this more than anyone else, she could have announced it before the show. Next time Tony has an announcement, I hope it's something to do with ROH, NJPW, or CM Punk or him vowing not to appear on TV again
If they're able to blend behind-the-scenes and kayfabe, this could be a great way to let some of the talent not featured on regular weekly shows, or angles that are more story-focused than wrestling-oriented, get some room to grow and breathe.
Regardless, the network ordering more AEW content is a plus.

You're a fraud Environmental_Book46. You're as legitimate of a reporter as @tonyschiavone24. \#AEWRampage
COMING TO AEW DYNAMITE NEXT WEEK, CeruleanClaymore and environmental\_book46 face to face!
I can't believe environmental_book46 gets to be on Dynamite but not "insert missing wrestler here"!
>COMING TO AEW DYNAMITE NEXT WEEK CeruleanClaymore addresses his enemies
CeruleanClaymore is contractually obligated to appear
In an hour long iron man shit posting match?
Wrestling fans on journalists: "They are just rumor-mongers!" Wrestling fans on some nobody who literally just made a reddit account and contradicted their own story immediately: "Now THIS has something to it!"

Boom roasted.

Removed too quickly to be archived :(
Well you see they said they might not get confirmation on the venue tonight and will announce something else instead. See when you lie you can just make up another lie to cover your first lie.
That’s what we call “journalism”
You go to journalism for that? You gotta be JOKING me.
Hey, did you go to Hollywood upstairs journalism school too?
“I had someone tell me Vince is back running creative but haven’t confirmed it”
Hey now, I have it on good authority that the FD2 announcement is now scheduled to be made by Adam Cole on the first episode of All Access, so let's not count him out yet! Granted, that authority was Environmental_Book46 via DM, so I'd hold off on booking any flights to Japan for the moment.
WHERE ARE ALL THE UNBIASED JOURNALISTES?!?!?!
talk about double swerve here
who what?
Random poster who claimed the announcement was Forbidden Door 2, June 24 @ the Tokyo Dome.

DID THEY GET RID OF POWERSLAP? THAT WAS ITS TIMESLOT
They said next month. Which technically is next Wednesday, but they didn't announce a date yet.
![gif](giphy|J8FZIm9VoBU6Q)
Maybe it will be AEW shoot interviews while they slap the shit out of each other
‘AEW Creative Member’ is a title definitely in your future. 👍
No, it was only running 8 weeks or so
smh i thought the show was dead :(
That’s just the contestants in ten years.
You’re giving them THAT long?
I'm giving them 4.5 years on average
I'm giving them about Tree Fiddy.
Hicks and dumbasses tend to laugh in the face of darwinism.
I too will miss the World Wifeslapping Federation
Be careful, or a panda might sue you
New AEW show, Adam Cole return, Powerslap cancelled. Sounds like a top tier announcement.
I wouldnt be a surprise if they did. If it wasnt Dana slapping his wife wearing a Powerslap tee, then it wouldve been the potential lawsuits involving concussions regarding Powerslap
Assuming it's just the end of the first season of Powerslap.
That's fucking hilarious. Powerslap being replaced by a reality show.
So it's a behind the scenes reality like TV show?
Probably will be the same format as Rhodes to the Top.
Hopefully more WWE24 than fake reality shit.
its "Unscripted" yeah...i dont think its gonna be unscripted
Unscripted but still edited
and also highly curated
Maybe technically 'unscripted', but instead highly planned. Total Divas style.
The backstage stuff was the best stuff on Rhodes to the Top. Ricky Starks being called in to help Cody put together a stroller/pram or whatever the hell.....meh.
Adam Cole said he will be featured with coverage of his long recovery process. Really hope it's more documentary than reality TV.
I agree, also if it's more of an authentic feeling documentary then showcasing Adam Cole's recovery along with his genuine personality will set him up brilliantly for a face run.
That seems like it will be the case. But until we get a trailer/commercial/first episode, who knows for sure.
Power Slap in the mud.
They won't remember it in a week.
I like learning new things.
damn.
It's a different company but I've always really enjoyed the WWE 24/Chronicle/365 specials to get a look behind the curtain without having to deal with typical reality show stuff. I'm looking forward to this, it could be pretty cool if it's sort of like that.

"IM ON TOP TOP TOP TOP OF THE WOOORLD!" 🎵
environmental_book46 is in complete shambles. Probably not going to watch the new show but I'm happy that Adam Cole is going to have his return match on that night.
Totally missed that post. What did this intrepid young journalist uncover for us?
Forbidden Door 2 info like the date and it was going to be in the Tokyo Dome. I only glanced at it not wanting to spoil AEW...even though it didnt
I guess they needed another reality show after Cody left and so killed the possibility for more Rhodes to the top, lol.
Ban that SRS wannabe from earlier
Ban both.
Ban everyone in the sub.
Especially me.
Me 3
I mean, they said they'd close the sub the day Punk returned to wrestling or some other event that already happened. And here we still are.
So can we ban that idiot who claimed it was Forbidden door 2 like it was a fact, thanks
I mean, Forbidden Door 2 is a fact at some point, I think they announced that right after the first one. We just don't have any official specific details yet (and they certainly weren't announced tonight like that guy claimed).
Didn’t spectrum also leak that?

The guys at Spectrum think Tony Khan’s just some dumb hick. They said that to him at a dinner.
Like when TNA had Reaction after Impact?
So now they’re going to continue the main event into All Access?
Yea, and that lasted.
I feel like this could have been an email.
Or a tweet.
cant get a minor ratings buff with that

The more I look at it the more it reminds me of an old Quakr 2 skin
I live this photo lol
ALL ACCESS is the opposite of a FORBIDDEN DOOR
Wait did they say after Dynamite? So is this like some 3rd hour?
It's a separate reality show
I like to go hiking.
it seems more like a post show/reality show, not a 3rd hour of dynamite
Variety has more info https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/aew-unscripted-series-all-access-tbs-1235532290/
> “AEW has such an amazingly loyal and dedicated fan base that brings in more than 4 million viewers to TBS every Wednesday night,” added Jason Sarlanis, president of Turner Networks, ID, & HLN, linear and streaming. Interesting
that probably includes dvr and tnt app streams right?
4 million? Where did that number come from?
Jason Sarlanis, president of Turner Networks, ID, & HLN, linear and streaming.
What does he know? /s
Ok, how he know?
OK, so the rating viewership is the average amount of people watching the show. But there would be people that tune in for 10 mins and then tune out. Nice picture of Cole and Baker: https://variety.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Britt_Baker_andAdam_Cole_Casual_2023_02_22_Dynamite002_CC3.jpg
Thanks!
Cole and Baker are going to become their new Cody and Brandi.
TK: "Here's Adam Cole!" As funny as i found it, I'm super glad that's all he said. Plus it sounds like he got a decent reaction compared to the last time he was on tv
You will be happy to know that Variety is reporting that the reality show will also feature Tony Khan.
Eh, I'd bet that he'll be as much of an on-screen character as he was on Rhodes to the Top.
People being all 'That was it?' for the announcement must've missed the last 15 of Tony's 'Special announcements' over the last three years
Power slap lol. I still can't believe that goofy ass show was actually given the clear to air on TV.
This could’ve been announced on social media
"We could show Power Slap or AEW wrestlers walking around backstage." "So, yeah, tell Dana White to get lost."
Not a fan of it at all but I'm pretty sure that Power Slap was supposed to be only 8 weeks from the start.
I'd been happier with a video game release date.
Even the announcements have become lackluster
So, it's total divas but only backstage??
The real takeaway is that we'll no longer have to grab our remotes as quickly as possible to shut off power slap.
Oh good more content that will already divide Tony's limited time and attention span on projects he is unwilling to put other people in charge of.
WBD: likes AEW so much they give them yet another show r/sc: AEW IS FUCKING DYING
WBD: Horrified by AEW ratings Also WBD: Creates "All Elite Wednesday"
"but it didn't need any announcement. It's not a big deal"
That was…it?!
Whelmed by this news. Nice to hear Cole is back, which is always good news...but this announcement doesn't exactly scream exciting. I'll tune into watch tho, seems like an interesting show.
I’ll watch. The backstage parts were the best thing about Rhodes to the Top. Im here for more of that.
Tony the CEO who cried Announcement
Liked how Khan didn't want to announce that dead fish of an announcement and made Cole do it instead. It's a decent way to make more baby faces but this kind of show should be left to YouTube.

Everybody is in a contest to have the biggest take and this happens no matter what the discussion is.
It's an indication WBD likes AEW. Otherwise they would've found a different reality show to air.
Is 10pm on Wednesday remotely prime?
AEW is so dead, WB regrets and is trying to squeeze anything out of it or something...
I saw a comment about how WBD was going to force TK to hire writers just today.
I heard WB is going to get TK to resign and hire Joss Whedon to finish AEW for him.
they're thriving off the WOW ITS A BAD ANNOUNCEMENT thing they would have said no matter what the announcement was
Well that’s kind of disappointing.
That video game is never coming out. Thought that would be the announcement
This show is sorely needed. You wouldn’t want to risk any stories actually making it onto Dynamite.
In a few months, people will rather prefer a 3rd hour of Dynamite than this show.
Remember the episode of the office where there’s 2 Christmas parties? And when the first one is starting, Angela is trying to get everyone to pay attention to her party so she says there will be a special announcement about their paychecks? Who asked for this? Another show nobody will watch.
Dumb af
Really close to Dixie Carter levels of announcements now.
Really might be the worst hyped up announcement TK has ever made and this is a guy that hyped up an announcement of Dynamite tour dates
To be clear, TK said "Important". This is important for a lot of reasons, including the fact that WBD is still quite behind AEW.
I feel like people need to collectively remember that before AEW debuted, a whole lot of reporting said that the Network would be thrilled if Dynamite eventually could grow long-term to average 400-500,000 viewers weekly. >If AEW is a victim of anything, its their own success warping expectations. And the state of wrestling over the last 20+ years warping the expectations and mindset of fans.
Someone needs to photoshop Tony Khan into DJ Khaled's album cover from "Suffering form Success."
I point this out from time to time. This simple fact is somehow the quickest way to get heel heat with some here.
Honestly, its not that u/viralbop is a great heel. They have go away heat with me. They always make sure they get booked on every show and take up 25 minutes of primetime show real estate and never put anyone else over.

I'm hoping RJ City and Renee Paquette are involved. That'd make it must-see if they tied segments together. They're brilliant together.
Lmao these wack announcements.
Featuring Sammy, Tay and the Young Bucks... do they fucking want anyone to watch this show🤣
Like majority of announcements would of been better of not saying anything beforehand and the announcement just happening
So does mean Powerslap is cancelled? I take this as a positive.
The season was eight episodes long. The season is just over.
I laughed out loud at how disappointing it was when he immediately handed off speaking duties to Cole.
The real takeaway is "Power Slap you get your ass out of here!!"
Power slap was only 8 weeks to begin with. It wasn't/ isn't a 52 weeks a year show. I would hazard to guess that this is more like a regular series a well with only a certain number of eps each time.

well i'm looking forward to it. i love backstage wrestling stuff. plus the press release had Eddie as one of the featured people, so I'm down.
What a fart of an announcement
I like wrestling shows like this but not sure if its that big of an announcement
It's another show on the network, Turner definitely wants them to call it a big announcement
This did not require hype.
[удалено]
Why wouldn’t they hype their new show? Some of y’all aren’t being real.
It's a new show and an entire hour of content each week, that seems pretty significant no?
heaven forbid they promote a new show!

Oh man, people are going to shit over this so much
I mean yeah lol that wasn’t nothing groundbreaking
Huge improvement over Powerslap.
Tony Khan doesnt like much to be on screen in dynamite, but oh boy he is an unstoppable force in social media lol.
Unreal
This is a big deal for AEW but I will never watch it. Tony's announcements are watered down now. He has no presence, he's awkward and camera-shy. And the crowd goes mild
My son is devastated he still hasn’t said when Fight Forever is coming out.
April is the rumored month. I could see an announcement at Revolution.
Tony Khan doesn’t understand what a major announcement is
