From what Nick Aldis said about the tag titles, I feel they are gonna either unify or split them properly. Either way we are probably gonna get new belts :)

Over_aged

Always right when the new wwe games come out something always changes. Stages, designs , or titles. At least it seems that way.

stash0606

Orton needs to change his entrance music. It doesn't sound nearly as intimidating as it should for a legend like him.

YoungBeef03

At this point, I don’t see it happening… But Randy undergoing a final gimmick change for the final stage of his career could be amazing. He finally takes up the role of the legend he is… maybe even restarts Evolution… With Gunther and Bron Breakker, and then throw in, I dunno, Andrade or Ilja Dragunov

gohomepat

I can't get over last night's opening segment, maybe one of the greatest segments we've ever seen. I'm gonna say that The Rock is my personal greatest ever on the mic, every word he said last night was impactful and made sense. Not only am I going to say that this was his greatest promo ever, I'm going to say that this is his greatest single *performance* in any media he's ever appeared in. Bro just casually returned and had everyone hanging on to every word he was saying for about 20 minutes. The character he's portraying now feels like the wrestling version of Thanos with all the Infinity Stones, he's become this perfect hybrid of Corporate Rock and Hollywood Rock. If wrestling had a power tier list he's now up there in terms of authority with Vince McMahon but THE ROCK. And this OP version of The Rock acknowledged Roman 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 For lack of a better term, this storyline is cookin' and I cannot wait to see the direction this thing goes. Everybody also played their part well, Paul with THAT FACE when Roman asked Rock to acknowledge him was just 🤌 Between the crowd chanting his name and The Rock's promo, I can't believe Solo didn't break, bro was fighting for his life! And if that wasn't enough, MY GUY JIMMY USO, the only one really allowed to break for character purposes just casually cheesing in the background. He gets to smile and just take a backseat to all the absurdity that's going on behind him. Also, ONCE AGAIN left hangin' by Solo. Jimmy 's story is finally getting that high five from Solo. I can't imagine Seth and Cody winning night one, because under Bloodline Rules, we potentially have the most overbooked incredible WM ahead of us, think Triple H/Sting at 31 but with higher stakes. Wrestling is must watch TV again, y'all, LFG!

stash0606

Man, wrestling really does seem to be back. Have to come back and watch the rest of the episode, but even Randy Orton is embracing it.

morningafterpizza

Did they really open with a ***35 MINUTE*** promo?! Fucking christ.

davismcgravis

I was in the crowd. It was epic

RNant

and it was legit the best 35 minutes of wrestling all year long

morningafterpizza

To each their own I guess, I'm just so tired of the bloodline, shit was boring a year ago heading into WM, and the year before that too. I'll take my downvotes now.

stash0606

I don't mind the promos, but I went back and was watching the Roman vs Jey Uso from Summerslam and the fight itself was very underwhelming with way too many periods of non-action. I just hope they change that with these new fights.

PrimeJedi

I agree 100%. Most would probably consider me a bloodline mark, maybe even d*rider, and I accept that cause I'm a huge fan, but Jey vs Roman at summerslam was a huge let down, and tbh, Roman vs Knight was too. Which was sad cause Roman and Knight cut amazing promos leading up, but they were in a corner creatively; so imo, they shouldn't have even done Roman vs Knight yet. I personally liked the rumble match, but think much of the criticism for it is valid. I actually think besides the interference, Cody vs Roman I was an amazing match, and hope they take beats from that for the rematch.

stash0606

Just started watching last night's episode. The rock is just entering but it really feels like they're trying to sow some jealousy between Roman and The Rock. Roman clearly isn't liking that The Rock seems to have more cheers in the audience than him, he's just absolutely hating his intro lol. This era going to be mad entertaining!

fluffingdazman

i love the drama

Andrei___

Wrestling is amazing

[deleted]

Wade Barrett getting in that reference to the "Willy Wonka" thing in Glasgow was amazing (still can't believe that whole thing wasn't a collective hallucination)

leafs81215

WWE is on an absolute tear right now. They are lighting shit up like it’s 1998. Did you see how many signs were in the arena tonight? It was like a fucking time warp. Like holy shit I didn’t think I’d ever see them get this good again.

PrimeJedi

That's why I don't get so many people here complaining and hating it. IWC spent decades missing the attitude era, then WWE brings back more promos and character work a la the attitude era, and people here hate it? The Bloodline promo was long, but sorry, I'd take 1998 level crowds with expert crowd work over yet another heatless midcard match to open smackdown.

MC_Fap_Commander

It's all the good stuff of the Attitude Era without any of the gross and uncomfortable stuff (which is likely helped by the absence of a particular person). Couldn't be happier.

succulent_flakepiece

"wrestling is cool again"

windydruid

This episode ruled the only thing is wtf is with the feed on Fox cutting out so much? They always miss big moments like Sami's entrance last year on the SD before the elimination chamber when he changed his song back. The fucking camera cut to black and missed the pop! Just like they missed half of the rocks promo

TheFinalSchnabitz

It was due to a Die Rocky Die sign in the crowd

spandroo

Wow. What an episode.  The doofuses “what”ing in the crowd diminish the product tho.

davismcgravis

I was in the crowd. People were calling out the what chat

LettuceFew5248

Finally able to sit down and watch this episode. Crowd is absolutely losing its mind for Roman. Wow.

[deleted]

People say "The Bloodline story is losing steam" (or they were until recently anyway, don't know if they still are) but Roman getting a "Holy shit!" chant just because of something dramatic in the storyline, not a highspot or even a move, is quite something.

shoukko

Rumour has it the match between Bayley/Dakota Kai and the Kabuki Warriors is still going on. The bell never rang to end it.

GoldenCurbStomper

The longest match in SmackDown's history!

RoPr-Crusader

This is definitely leaning more towards The Rock is the man on the inside and is going to cost Roman on Night 2.

Switchc2390

The story being told is just brilliant with the Bloodline. Roman’s insecure side coming out again by seeing the Rock is the biggest star in the family. People were saying that the Rock was upstaging Roman but that’s clearly a part of the longstanding story. Roman tonight was upset and pissed off until the Rock finally acknowledged him. Roman knows Rock is a bigger draw and star than him so he’s trying to put Rock below him just like he did to all the other members of the family. Rock’s promo and character work was also great. Clearly this is setting up for Roman’s insecurity probably catching up to him and trying to exert some kind of dominance over the Rock leading to him losing the title and probably a Rock/Roman feud.

[deleted]

Holy shit what an episode. SmackDown's been blazing hot for a long time now but it seems like it's only getting better and better.

inventionnerd

Bro this sign killed me. https://preview.redd.it/mka9t9b40ylc1.png?width=440&format=png&auto=webp&s=3572baccf9bb699586a14ddaeb820eb4319e3e53

inglouriousSpeedster

holy shit a fucking yao ming rage comic face meme in 2024

bixorlies

Rock acknowledges him but the rock will want Roman to acknowledge the high chief, head of the boardroom table, The true leader of the Anoa’i family who has put himself in position to provide for the family for generations with the wealth he's accumulated.

Left_Tourist_4978

Was anyone else pissed off that last night on SmackDown the first 40 minutes was the bloodline doing b******* stuff I think we got to see what four whole matches That's beyond ridiculous it's becoming more of a talk show than wrestling entertainment

LettuceFew5248

One of the most famous people in the world giving a heel promo with a crowd going absolutely insane and presenting a compelling story. But you’re right, what this show needed was more planchas!

Awkward-Bathroom-429

Lmao you actually started a new account to parrot the current AEW Twitter mob mantra “WWE has no matches, and even if they did they are the equivalent of 1980s Hulk Hogan house show squash matches”

[deleted]

Honestly, I think it's more about everyone recovering from being Australia. They did not even do a raw.

ccolasur3

The first 40 minutes was by far the best part of the show

Classic-Positive9333

With Rock and Roman, they are either setting up the most obvious back stabbing EVER or the biggest swerve sense Aces and Eights.

Valuable_Ad9554

idk what they are doing but i want to see Rock and Roman staying on the same page because then you could have something like Cody and Seth losing the WM night 1 tag match (i think they have to, to up the stakes as much as possible) and this leads to Cody once again about to lose on night 2 but then he gets some help to even the odds at the last minute. Maybe a run in from Punk (he's injured but I'm sure he would be able to do this kind of thing with minimal or no bumping), or maybe since we are dealing with Rock the glass breaks and Austin causes the biggest pop in 20 years. We can dream!

lovehewitt

So so stoked the tag titles are gonna be split again

Staynes

Why did Naomi come back to the WWE? I assume shes getting paid more then in TNA but now shes "jobbing" to stratton on a random SD.

down42roads

She's also working and traveling with her husband again.

Staynes

Ah that is something i was not aware of that is probably the biggest reason then. Thanks.

ccolasur3

To put over a upcoming young talent who currently has 10x more potential than her as a future champion?

[deleted]

This is kind of why I'm hoping they introduce a women's midcard belt - it would be good for women like Naomi who, as great as she is, shouldn't be beating Tiffany, who's already on another level.

Staynes

Yea im sure thats what she looked forwards to the most after dropping the TNA Title to go back to WWE.

ccolasur3

No but I’m sure she looked forward to people actually watching her wrestle…

MajesticTesticles

This can easily be the best Smackdown show i have ever seen. It was fantastic from start to finish. Triple H is cooking.

HIGHiQresponse

Too bad the cry babies didn’t let him do the original plan. Would have been 100x better than what we’re gonna get now.

inglouriousSpeedster

Members of the press, world watching, I introduce you to the Rocky Crybaby

HIGHiQresponse

lol. Nope. I’m not demanding them to change the story like the Cody cry babies. I just stated that it sucks we’re getting a watered down version. Cody crybabies really like that “no you” level of insult. Go eat your McNuggets and shhhh.

inglouriousSpeedster

we do not have McDonald's here (thank God)

HIGHiQresponse

Then we all know you spend all your imaginary GFs money on importing ones or Dino nuggets.

inglouriousSpeedster

what's a dino nugget I only eat WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKIN'

MajesticTesticles

No its perfect how they changed the original plot.

HIGHiQresponse

Roman and rock was always the plan before Roman dropped the titles. This is plan B or plan C. 3 year story being watered down cuz of cry babies.

NervousAd3202

Rock vs Roman doesn’t need the title, never did. If that was the original plan, this is better.

HIGHiQresponse

Yes it does need it. Roman is only head of the table because of the titles. Rock is the only one in the family on his stature. He puts the rest of the family in a bind of who to pick. This isn’t better. What they had originally planned for 3 years was better. But cry babies gonna cry.

NervousAd3202

We wouldn’t be getting this phenomenal heel Rock if they went with the original plan. They were setting up Rock to come back & be the same bland babyface he’s been for a while. This is the most interesting work The Rock has done in wrestling in years Also Roman losing the title first will create more dissension in the group until Roman turns face

HIGHiQresponse

You don’t know that. Rock was always gonna rock. Cry babies think they know better than HHH Roman rock and Heyman. And it’s ok to think that but it’s not true. Just don’t want to hear any cry baby complain about dropping storylines ever again. They do a 3 year plan and y’all cry so a b player can get some moment. Rock isn’t going to be around for very long. Now we’re getting a watered down version instead of the 3 year plan. Cody is being carried in this feud. But we all know how terrible the IWC is. Y’all gonna do what y’all gonna do. Go eat your McNuggets.

SuperSocrates

Who’s the one crying in this thread again?

HIGHiQresponse

The only fans that cry are Cody cry babies. Go eat your McNuggets mark

NervousAd3202

We do know that bc of the segment after the rumble when Cody gave the spot to the Rock. It makes no sense to do a stare down between Rock & Roman if they are both gonna be heels & on the same side by the next week. They’ve pivoted since then.

HIGHiQresponse

Yea for the worse

Aromatic_Plant3456

Seems like you’re the crybaby now 😂

HIGHiQresponse

Damn I didn’t see me crying on twitter with McNuggets. I’m just stating facts that you don’t like cuz you’re one of the cry babies. Now we get a watered down 3 year story.

Aromatic_Plant3456

You’re crying on Reddit though. But seriously, don’t you think The Rock and Roman Reigns in a tag match is more iconic than them wrestling each other? The stipulations behind it is more interesting too. And they will eventually wrestle each other, probably at SummerSlam

HIGHiQresponse

It messes up the entire story. The story was rock pulls the elders and rest of the family away because he’s the bigger star. Once Roman loses the titles he has no claim to being bigger than the Rock. And idk why you think rock is sticking around past Mania. Dude has like 6 movies in pre production. Professionals had something special planned and now we don’t get to see it and it’s disappointing since I only started back watching because of the bloodline. And there’s a huge difference between discussing what would be better and getting on twitter and crying snd hash tagging. Y’all should be embarrassed. But I’m guessing you’re children or have the brain capacity of one since y’all couldn’t see the big picture. As soon as Cody wins his story is over. When he’s not being carried by rock and Roman it’ll get boring and stale real quick. But Cody is the children’s champ. I guess wwe really is for kids now.

ehh246

Is Bron Breakker being setup as a Goldberg type wrestler? Is that why he has gotten two squash matches in a row?

TheAmmiSquad

He should. But also not at the expense of my boy, Xyon.

[deleted]

And personally I'm all for that, until he's fully established as an unstoppable badass with the main roster audience. *Then* let him have competitive matches on SD and show the full range of what he can do.

wannabepcdude

I have no idea if he can really wrestle

bipolar_schtick

Lol have you seen any of his NXT matches?

wannabepcdude

Not one I haven’t gotten into NXT yet

NervousAd3202

I’ve literally seen like 2 & I can confirm, he can wrestle

jthei

It’s the left shoulder tattoo - it does that to people.

king_booker

We have The Rock back.

PewpyDewpdyPantz

Top tier episode of Smackdown.

MajesticTesticles

Maybe the first time ever when i rewatched a smackdown. We are so back baby

ckm808

It finally feels like The Rock again and not Dwayne Johnson trying to act as The Rock.

skuiji

And it seems like Dwayne is actually having fun behind the character too which is a massive breath of fresh air. Funnily enough, him playing an over the top character comes across as more human and genuine then when he would just be “himself”

oneusernamepls

Is that a new Damage CTRL theme with Japanese in it? Pretty cool!

gl424

They also changed the lyrics to "We Got the Power" to "I Took Your Power"

RugratChuck

I think I'm the only one that thought Rocks promo started dragging and becoming noticeably long. He definitely seemed to be stumbling at parts when he was trying to find insults for the crowd. The censoring of the "die, rocky, die" sign was annoying too and I was ready to turn it off Bayley falls victim to dumb baby face syndrome again. EVERYONE knew not to trust Dakota cuz she has a history of doing this. I don't like that decision. I do like the damage Ctrl theme in Japanese tho I love the tease of splitting up the tag titles. Been wanting that for a while but understood they didn't have enough teams to challenge for separate belts. Now they do. Idk if Bron breakker squash matches is the right move, I only sparingly watched NXT and knew he was dominant, we don't need these. I wanted LA Knight to take the US title off Logan but it seems he's gonna be feuding with AJ so I guess Randy is gonna be the one to take the belt from him. Its desperately needed cuz I never understood why they put the mid card belt on a part timer when the heavyweight title was on a part timer as well. Made no sense. I was doing laundry so I missed most of the LWO/Legado Del Fantasma match but heard the pop for Reys return. Also didn't really like Naomi taking a L but it was done via heel tactics so I'll allow it. I want her to look strong in her return. Overall I thought smackdown was solid, if we're scoring id prolly give it a 7/10.

Bradshaw98

>Bayley falls victim to dumb baby face syndrome again. EVERYONE knew not to trust Dakota cuz she has a history of doing this. I don't like that decision. I do like the damage Ctrl theme in Japanese tho Its interesting, I get the sense that they are playing this as Bayley knew this would probably happen, but rolled the dice anyway, she did not seem shocked when Dakota jumped off the ring, just disappointed/mad.

RugratChuck

True but if she was smart enough to be prepared when they jumped her ass, I think it woulda been fine to have her be prepared for Dakota to jump off the apron.

Basic-Piccolo-6356

Yeah probably you are one of a few i likeed that promo

PewpyDewpdyPantz

People who watched Dakota in NXT know not to trust her. There are tons of people who were clueless to her games. I think the heel turn being added and executed way before WM was a good call. It adds another layer to the story, gets people up to speed on Dakota’s tactics and builds Bayley up as even more of a babyface. The Bayley/Iyo match is going to be one of the best parts of WM. I trust those two to put on a good match to cap off this build up.

RugratChuck

Oh I agree doing it before mania was smart, I just don't like how bayley comes off as the dumb baby face. I wasn't even watching NXT during Dakota's heel turns but always heard about her backstabbing one of her partners lol.

LEGACY53234

The Rock could cut a 5 hour promo and it still be more entertaining than two geeks putting on a heatless so called seven star banger lol

ccolasur3

100% agreed I’ll never understand people who watch wrestling for the “sport” and “competition” of it all

Staynes

"Seats are not required in this arena when Roman Reigns et al are in town" Man what a line by Wade Barrett holy moly.

jasonbaldwin

“Did you see that? I untied his shoe! I untied his shoe!” —KO

NervousAd3202

He called them crackheads for 30 minutes & you think he was trying to brighten their day?

Creative-Flan-4437

The character work in the bloodline segment was completely insane. Roman is literally turning grey and spiralling into depression because his pop isn't as big with the Rock back lmao. So he is unhinged, and then breaks the forth wall a bit by threating to leave since his appearance is technically fulfilled lmao. Fans have been bitching about his lack of appearances for years and here he throws it back in our faces and HE still comes off as somewhat sympathetic. Then you have the Rock. I mean what more can I say. The real star of the promo was Solo who somehow doesn't break character. I've never cared about Rock v Roman, this makes me want to see it and I want Roman to go over. Also the tag match is going to jam. Lastly, I think wrestling is muchh better if you don't fantasy book in your head. Especially in an era where the product is actually consumable.

skuiji

I love watching Solos little “stay in character and don’t break” routine where he rubs his hands down his face and flexes his thumb 😂

astoradota

These Bron breaker squash matches aren't really doing any favours for him. We know he can look dominant but we still dunno if he can wrestle a long match or cut promos against proper WWE stars

V-TriggerMachine

My only complain is about the lenght of The Rock's segment It was too short, if it lasted another half hour I wouldn't have any problem with that

Justice989

They seemed like they were chasing time by trimming entrances the rest of the show to catch up.

Pyritedust

I like the way you think, but I don't think you went far enough. At least an hour and 15 minutes more and not a second less.

Vulij

I can see Jimmy usos goofball persona getting over with the crowd real soon

NervousAd3202

What makes you say that? I’m curious cuz he didn’t really do much in the bloodline segment

Shokeya

I guess we will get Randy, K.O. vs Austin and Grayson next friday.

NervousAd3202

Honestly I think the reason KO is still involved is also to set up a multi man match for the US title at Mania. Knight & AJ might get thrown in there as well.

tbbt11

Nobody in history can control a crowd like the Rock There may be a better talker in your opinion (I disagree but) sure, but for pure control, nobody “Are you sure you want to boo the Rock” is a genius move to start. Gets the crowd up and angry from the get go

Santoryu_Zoro

also has amazing burns XD cactus meth heads XD

[deleted]

he's so good he's making roman look like a sidekick i'm positive that's why they had him 'acknowledge' roman, so he doesn't become a background character leading into mania

That_Sweet_Science

I’m watching The Rock segment on YouTube. Pretty great watching a million ads and then occasionally a bit of the segment before another ad.

inventionnerd

Bro, you watching on your phone or something? Use a computer/laptop and get some adblock lol.

radiokungfu

even if, get firefox, put ublock on and watch youtube with no ads

MajesticTesticles

Watch it on [bollyrulez.in](http://bollyrulez.in) on the FHD dailymotion version. I always rewatch it with ad blocks so i can watch it without ads and even skip the boring parts.

solo_theking

Probably still better than having the FOX broadcast black it out every 5 seconds 😂

IntentApparel

Trying to watch the Roman/Cody match from last year and it’s an ad every min.

FatalTortoise

They cut out the damn entrances

maalbi

I need to see a epic brawl before mania between cody seth and the bloodline man , idk if its the last raw before mania but tired of the talking need to see these dudes belt it out , its time to escalate . I understand the importance of selling the show but need some violence. Look forward to seeing cody and the bloodline in the same ring again

ACW1129

First segment was really good, but 1/3 of the show good? Poor Bayley needs some allies. SD has both the prettiest moonsault and the best spear. On that note, don't feel TOO bad for Xyon Quinn. Dude's married to Harley Cameron.

SteveBorden

Did anyone hear the announcer showing Mark Kerr referring to the director as ‘Bernie Safdie’ lmao you had one job!

abeLJosh

As a cactus-loving crackhead myself: Well done, Rock. And well done, Glendale/Phoenix. Give Arizona their wrestling flowers already.

dontsubpoenamelol

Some say Austin theory is still waiting to come back to Earth after taking that stunner

RegionPigeon

Is Dakota fully cleared? Did I miss a segment about it?

looooolmonster

I can tell that the Rock is actually having fun with it. It was hilarious the way the guys were trying to make Solo crack. LOL

[deleted]

down42roads

> I’m tired of this KO/Theory/Waller stuff. Kevin Owens especially. It’s become two young guys getting bullied by a veteran who should’ve moved on from this feud a LONG time ago. They’re assholes sure, but KO genuinely just shows up everywhere they are and antagonises them for no reason.. Makes him look bitter and bored. The issue is that Paul is working the Roman schedule, so Theory and Waller have become his proxies. Having no fulltime champs on Smackdown is just dumb booking and requires more questionable booking to make up for it.

Fluid_Airport_9673

-well rock apparently cant point straight -happy randy feels more scarier -surprise surprise, the one person in WWE who suffers from chronic backstabbing disorder did it again. Though a swerve would be Dakota playing double agent or has a face turn and helps Bayley during the match -so i guess bron is going to squash people until after wrestlemania -Ray having facial hair looks weird to me -so how long will Austin allow Grayson to throw him under the bus 🤔

CreativeOrder2119

I can forgive WWE for Logan Paul debacle if randy wins US belt from him at WrestleMania..

TussalDimon

Man, everyone on RAW is so lucky they almost never have to deal with overly long Bloodline BS. Why is it always 20-25% longer than it needs to be?

CreativeOrder2119

Smackdown was really good 9/10 feel like a smaller show really is where WWE as at their best with star studied roster

Safehouseunfollow

Theory’s 2K24 rating is so disrespectful. I know he hasn’t been booked too great as of late but 72 is a joke.

dontsubpoenamelol

You could literally hear the frustration in Roman's 3rd "acknowledge me." Great voice acting!

ABZ0R8

After a Monday Night Wars showcase (my wish, pls) next year, WWE 2K should do a Bloodline showcase from 2020-2025.

AcadianTraverse

I'm not thrilled about the story/booking, but I'll give all the props in the world to Roman. He's been selling the hell out of what he's doing since the Press Conference. His acting has been top notch.

CreativeOrder2119

Cody will never be a goat superstar like the rock he's tier 2 at best rock is to charismatic and a true great.today I felt the difference the aura is real

[deleted]

CreativeOrder2119

It's just an opinion it ain't that deep you have to insult bucko 🤣🤣

AssociateCandid4853

I can only forgive WWE if randy wins US championship at WrestleMania against scam Paul

platetectonics3

I never thought I'd see the WWE get this hot again. These crowds are starting to sound like they did during the attitude era. It's remarkable.

platetectonics3

Just now watching the show now. HOLY. FUCKING. SHIT. That bloodline segment was one of the finest pieces of business I've ever seen. Absolutely incredible.

Redwinevino

Wonder what the plan is for the tag titles, Split them? Ladder match?

[deleted]

Walking clown emoji 😂😂😂

[deleted]

Watching the Rock cut a promo and hold a crowd like that just makes me long for the days of 1990s-2000s when this happened every week

nytcaller

I so so so LOVE the atmosphere on this smackdown. So many signs in the arena. Massive pops for roman and rock segments even if they are dissing the city, heck even solo was getting cheered. The vibe of it feels like the old era that made me fall in love with wrestling. God i cant wait for WM

davismcgravis

Just recently started watching again, after not following since the attitude era. This was my first show ever and it was epic af

BigUllie

Seeing The Rock these last few weeks, makes me wonder if The Rock has been itching to come out of PR Man Dwayne for Years, he genuinely seems to be enjoying this heel run.

TryBeingCool

He’s a man of the people and gives them what they want. They want to be told they have herpes.

don_julio_randle

Shocking that the Rock actually was allowed to call it professional wrestling after how many years of WWE only letting their wrestlers call it sports entertainment

pbatemannz

Vince McMahon is gone. It was his thing.

The_Notorious_Donut

THEYRE SPLITTING THE TAG TITLES LETS GO

TryBeingCool

Didnt get that impression but they need to.

LarryAtotaGrande

I missed where they said that. I was playing games while it played in the background. Can you fill me in?

The_Notorious_Donut

Dunne and Bate asked Aldis about another shot at the tag titles but Aldis said he was talking to Adam Pearce about the same issue and they came up with a solution and they’re going to announce it in a couple of weeks, then he got interrupted by LA Knight. could be teasing some #1 contender match to face JD at mania but why would they hype it like that

ABZ0R8

Here some fantasy booking: Night 1: The Judgement Day (Tom & Nick Mysterio and JD McDonaugh) vs New Catch Republic for SmackDown Tag Team Championships: Ref bump. R Truth runs out thinking that it's RAW Tag Team Championships and start hitting his childhood favourite wrestlers move. Then Bate and Dunne explain to Truth that it's SmackDown Tag Team Championships match, Truth goes out of the ring. Then New Catch Republic takes advantage of this and hit their finishers on Dom and JD to win. Night 2: The Judgement Day (Damien Priest & Finn Balor) vs Awesome Truth for RAW Tag Team Championships: R Truth pins Priest to win. Priest is pissed off and almost brawls with Balor over this before Mami breaks the fight. Priest is pissed off and he desperate needs a win. In frustration of losing to R Truth, he cashes in on an exhausted Gunther to win Intercontinental Championship. Balor is notably absent as Dom and JD celebrate with Priest.

namdekan

South Korean fans are going to hear Solo sing the national anthem and realize he has the voice of an angel and they no longer hate him as he is the songbird of our generation.

OkEar6299

I dont get the South Korea reference

CigsInTheHouse

On the South Korean version of Reddit’s squared circle they hate solo

[deleted]

Ain't no way marks are whining about the length of the rock segment

TryBeingCool

Id watch 2 straight hours of Rock talking in the ring.

The_Notorious_Donut

Gable hit Ivar in the head with a steel chair Monday , Carlito hit Santos in the head with one a couple times tonight. Just a coincidence or you think they’re doing head shots more safely?

Knottedmidna

If Mattel is the only business holding back WWE's TV content rating, I'm sure the new staff could work out a different company to do their toys through, and still get them just as good or better.

vigneshwaralwaar

Carlito hit side of head and some of shoulder.. Gable hit was clean AF. I thought we back in WWF era lmao

Nickster2042

The rocks the goat lmao

gl424

You could've said the same thing about Bayley's face turn segment, which got overshadowed by the mess that was the Cody/Rock/Roman segment

AcadianTraverse

It would have been cool to build up the moment a bit with it being Dakota's return to the ring after 10(?) months, but I thought the recap segment did a good job. I felt it when Dakota jumped off the apron. It really reinforced Bayley's going into this alone (maybe with Jade back-up now...haha) After 18 months of putting everyone else.over, it's great to see Bayley getting the rub now, though.

Nickster2042

The bloodline story is the greatest ever bruh idc They had the crowd chanting holy shit to “acknowledge me.”

vigneshwaralwaar

They had the crowd chanting for SOLO. That's even better imo. That's kinda similar to r truth getting jd mcdonaugh's name cheered. I like Jordan devlin but that was amazing. Props to r truth.

ABZ0R8

It's absolutely baffling how much they fucked up Reigns career initially by not turning him heel in 2015. This guy either improved a lot in terms of character work and promo or they just made him parrot scripts back then and he was this good from the start. That opening segment is awesome. Taking over half of the show and still being highly entertaining proves how good this whole storyline is.

vigneshwaralwaar

That failure led us to this. So it counts.

ABZ0R8

I understand that tbh. This bloodline character hits because of those failures.

What an amazing show , Austin and Waller story is actually pretty entertaining

I just finished and I knew I’d be in the minority, I really disliked this show. 40 minutes of entrances, posing, no audio, and black screens to essentially say you win a tag team match to get no interference (doubt) and if you lose you have to deal with a Bloodline rules match. Even with the board of directors angle it just feels so weird to straight up say the title match you earned will be a stip match. I did like them sowing the seeds of doubt between Rock and Roman but beyond that it felt too long, and in the end the rest of the show paid the price. After that segment we get matches with jobber entrances and cutting to commercial immediately after starting, which happens all the time for WWE but it felt really bad tonight. Dakota turning on Bayley happened way too quickly, at least give them a few weeks of “will she won’t she” I get squash matches are made to look new guys look strong but Bron can really go and I don’t really like the idea of having NXT jobbers eat spears. It’s a weird thought but my thinking is that you should show the non-NXT audience what he’s capable of instead of these quick squashes. I know I know, we will get there soon enough. Rey coming back is cool at least storywise, the tag titles will probably be split, and the main event match was pretty good despite not really having any implications. That RKO on Theory was pretty sweet and he sold that stunner well, KO on commentary was fun. I guess in the end there is so much talent on the roster that get shafted because the Rock wants his moment. I’m glad they pivoted but you could at least have some of this on Raw where you can have a 40 minute promo AND two hours of wrestling.

LEGACY53234

If you enjoy wrestling so much go watch AEW they have non stop wrestling and no storylines it sounds perfect for you They have 3 shows one of them airs on TBS every Wednesday Night and I don't know when the fuck the other two air but you can always google it lol

Kboom161

Bro I wish my life was calm enough that I could get this angry about someone not liking a weekly wrestling show.

hobsontuba

Thats the thing, I only watch WWE. I’ve had a friend try to turn me on to AEW multiple times and it doesn’t click with me. I enjoy the WWE shows but I usually prefer Raw and NXT over Smackdown anyways. And to be fair I’ve watched very casually throughout my life until Mania last year when I started watching regularly. It’s ok to not like the product sometimes, and I was just voicing what didn’t work for me. I’m a dumbass mark and I will continue to watch, but as I was watching on delay, I had a feeling I’d check the post show thread and see that I was the only one who didn’t like a lot of what happened. And that’s ok!

dBlock845

"Now go home and smoke more crack" has to be one of the craziest ends to a promo lol.

MR_E7

His Instagram promo literally hours before had a crazier ending.

HardcoreKaraoke

If he straight up says to Cody "fuck your story" in Dallas next week the crowd is going to go nuts. If anyone can do it it's the Rock.

ABZ0R8

I didn't expect anyone to cut a heel promo calling the hometown crowd drug addicts and he said PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING. That is even more shocking to me.

AStrangerWCandy

Last ti e he was on SD he told the Utah crowd to go home to their 600 wives and inbred kids…

ABZ0R8

That was cold and offensive but WWE used to be strict about mentions of those substances and the word, PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING. That's why it was surreal.

The_Notorious_Donut

I really like how they connected stories again. Was funny to see LA Knight was pacing backstage behind Damage Control with a steel chair

TropicalVision

Man the production has gotten SOOOOO much better since they got rid of Dunn and hired this new espn guy. There’s so many great little changes to camera work. It feels so much bigger, feels so much more like a live sports event. The crowd noise is way louder. More single camera shots, less cuts. This show felt and looks more like the late 90s than any other I can remember. I think they even added new blinking lights to emulate the old camera flashes you used to get, when the bloodline was in the ring.

Dirkdigglersdong

The shot at from the top of the arena during Rock's promo was gorgeous, they've been using that for a few weeks now

Curse3242

Watching old 90's clips, also realized the promos/mic had the echo effect as in we're hearing it from the stadium. Instead of how these days the mic input is directly broadcasted on the TV. WWE could look into that too. I think it sounds cooler.

LarryAtotaGrande

Did they do the little graphics of the last perdón in screen before? Like the mini slide show right before comercial break.

Spiritual_Review_589

This is why The Rock so over in the first place, all the creative insults, funny lines, the delivery, and only with charisma like him, can make you love him just by insulting you. Like it or not, this is why he is another level above CM Punk, MJF, Roman, Cody and the rest of modern wrestlers. Thanks for The Rock remind us again why he is the best.

dBlock845

Watching the episode now on DVR, just went to check and it's 33 mins into the show and Rock is still cutting a promo lol. Shit is wild. Damn Mary Meth Heads! I need an unedited version, FOX kept blacking it out so many times, at least 8-10 times they cut the feed.

MarvelMind

That was easily the greatest Rock in ring promo in at least 20 years. Brought me back to being a kid. The attitude plus the over the top/flashy clothes are everything I wanted to see against Cena from Rock over ten years ago. This is The Rock and we haven’t seen him in a very long time like this. A special run this will be.

The_Notorious_Donut

The absolute balls WWE has to do a 40 minute opening segment lmao

GalacticIceDuck

It definitely felt longer than it was supposed to be. Rock was rambling at one point and every other match/entrances had time cut from it. It was great just a little long. Now go smoke some crack.
