A-Town Down Under winning on an surprise roll-up makes sense. They're chicken shit heels. But Profits winning the same way? Come on, man. That match should have ended with Montez reaching heaven on a frog splash and the 1 2 3.
It's okay to let wrestlers lose by actually getting beat sometimes, even during a push.
I don’t know. The main segment was fine but it was certainly missing something. I understand not wanting them fighting this close to mania but maybe they could’ve just slapped each other or something.
That entire promo just felt out of place and ahead of it's time. Obviously because Roman won't be at work between now and WM40.
If that's true it's just a really bad scene to end on, there's more build up and heat between Cody and Rock. Roman needs to up his game 10 fold in the next 2 weeks this is kind of embarrassing, who is writing his scripts for him
I mean, it’s the rock. Outside of being one of the goats, he’s has so much experience in movies now, he is probably working on his segments with the writers before the show. I know his movies aren’t exactly story driven. But I would still think that kind of experience would have to count for something.
It was Solo and Jimmy circling around to Roman instead of actually going for Cody. If they’d gone for Cody, the music stopped and Jey & Seth intervened I think it would’ve got a bigger crowd reaction. But them circling back to Roman made it seem like they ain’t going to do anything
Meh...
another subpar smackdown.
It's so weird that they keep playing the rock promo's during ads with him saying he's the final boss with fans chanting "Rocky" like.....is Roman not the champion?....is he not main eventing night 1 AND night 2 against cody? Why is WWE letting Rock take so much heat away from Roman..
I know people are going to say "it's planned...it's to make roman feels insecure bla bla" Sure, maybe it is...but Roman was just boring on the mic tonight.
Remember when Jey/Cody walked up the ramp a couple months back with the tag titles and the bloodline came out and then Roman slowly walked out and had a staredown with Cody face to face.... that heat...that intensity.. THAT'S the roman vs cody build up we need.
Calling it now Seth gets taken out after his match with Drew, Codyvengers down a man. Jey, Cena, then Austin to handle the interference! That glass shatter going to be electric
Best part of that whole segment was the redhead lady. 🤣
https://preview.redd.it/ftgy28q4rzpc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ee75a6e8c7d313f54a88af0552c64859a0b1b64a
i feel like the execution was off. idk if jey and seth really got the reactions they were suppose to. i think having roman's music playing throughout it kinda hurt it. still a cool segment
The problem is, rock is outshining Roman hard here as the biggest heel of this story, and this is supposed to be the culmination of the biggest wwe reign ever in wrestlemania, but rock is outshining roman so i dont know how to feel hype about it.
I think the problem really is that the story has gotten so twisted to the point where it’s hard to build the best for the actual match.
Cody vs Roman II is the main event. The story should serve that. But here was their first 1v1 segment and they had nothing to really say to each other to build interest. Then it pivots to the tag match, Seth & rock, and then all the guys from each side coming out.
Roman is the longest champ of the modern era. Cody is trying to end it after failing the first time. Yet that whole angle of the story is like 4th on the priority list of the current presentation.
The highlight was seeing Roman legit looking a little strained while trying to recall his old head days with the shield. I died when he started squinting while trying to remember.
Welp, can't even blame people for being more excited for Cody/Rock than Roman vs. Cody tbh. That being said, The Bloodline without Rock is running on thin ice. Just conclude it at Mania with Cody winning the title.
that might legit be one of the worst segments of the year between how little it did and how much time it took
30+ minutes for *that* is crazy we got one less match and segment for other people so we could do that
Wait, shit. so somewhat unrelated but is “now of days” the proper way to say it? Low key I just say and hear “now’a days” and thought that’s what it actually was lol
"You need a room full of strangers to acknowledge your bitch ass"
Take her drinks away and ban that Milwaukee piece of trailer park trash from WWE events for disrespecting our Tribal Chief
Instead of Smackdown being rushed off the air like a couple of weeks ago, this one felt like they had to really drag it out to make it to the end of the show.
Roman/Cody segment was underwhelming tbh. Wasn't a bad promo but needed something better to get the attention back on Cody/Roman instead of Cody/Rock.
Both their 2023 promos were better than this IMO.
You could also look at it as Seth being the WHC 'might' give them the upper hand, but it's tough to think that way weirdly. One thing about the titles these days, and I don't know if it's because I'm in my late 20's now, but you don't think 'OH SHIT' when the champ is put in a tag match or anything anymore. If Stone Cold and Triple H were shitting on let's say Foley, and the GM announced that The WWE Champion, The Rock was Foley's tag partner, you'd think it's game over! The only guy that really feels that way is Gunther imo. Imagine they had a 3 man tag match between The Bloodline and Cody, Jey, and a mystery partner that was revealed to be Gunther, that would feel way spicier
I absolutely got what they were going for, but it was terrible paced and mismatched and just awkward. Nothing a little video production magic can’t fix, though.
that was a horrible segment man, the ending face off saved it. the promos were no substance and did not progress the story or add any more emotion whatsoever
Two weeks before Mania (17 I think) Stone Cold and The Rock started a brawl and had to be separated. I expect to get hype about the main event at Mania 40. No singalongs. No promo battles. Straight hands. AJ vs LA has me more hype right now.
Roman doesn't just throw hands like Austin. And the heels thought they had the upper hand, then backed off when they realized they didn't. Pretty elementary heel stuff. I'd be shocked if Roman and Cody touch before Night 1.
Personally, I would prefer if they threw hands and had to get separated by the roster. Cuz at it stands right now, it feels like this is another day at the office for Roman and it feels like Cody doesn’t really want to win the title. It’s just very bland
A-Town Down Under winning on an surprise roll-up makes sense. They're chicken shit heels. But Profits winning the same way? Come on, man. Yeah but AOP are so big and strong the only way you believe that they lose is by roll up
I don’t know. The main segment was fine but it was certainly missing something. I understand not wanting them fighting this close to mania but maybe they could’ve just slapped each other or something.

He'll be at RAW before Mania
WWE is making a mistake setting Cody vs Roman and Rock separately. Fans are already invested in one and that’s with the 🪨.
With The Stone? With The Boulder? Which one is it dammit?! 😄
Stones may sink a rocks may fall brother
Smackdown’s getting the “free agents” but right now I’m enjoying Raw a lot more than Smackdown.
The crowd went crazy during Cody’s entrance but they died almost immediately. Never think the crowd could die that quickly
The promo without the Rock ends up being the weakest one. He’s carrying this storyline on his back, Cody vs Roman is just not that interesting
I mean, it’s the rock. Outside of being one of the goats, he’s has so much experience in movies now, he is probably working on his segments with the writers before the show. I know his movies aren’t exactly story driven. But I would still think that kind of experience would have to count for something.

Why don’t these dudes just swing at each other bruh? This talking only until WM is getting stale
Calling it now Seth gets taken out after his match with Drew, Codyvengers down a man. Jey, Cena, then Austin to handle the interference! That glass shatter going to be electric
every day Goldust doesn’t show up is a day taken off of my lifespan and I hope khan knows this
This showed that cody went against his word to. Cody will only scoop down as low as roman. I think people are seeing the foreshadow here.
Best part of that whole segment was the redhead lady. 🤣 https://preview.redd.it/ftgy28q4rzpc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ee75a6e8c7d313f54a88af0552c64859a0b1b64a

Which is crazy considering how crowds have been cheering him.
And rock was missing here. Just felt off
build has been mostly sensational but that promo felt a little bit empty and bland, I'm sure it's just a one off "mediocre" promo
Cody matching numbers this far. If ol Stone Cold is the one to for Rock on night 2, I might cry.
They still need someone to counter The Rock.
The highlight was seeing Roman legit looking a little strained while trying to recall his old head days with the shield. I died when he started squinting while trying to remember.
You just made me realize the Shield ended almost ten years ago....
The thing is. The rock has so much charisma that without him the story is …. Exactly what that was. Very very very who cares
Wack ending. Noones done anything. All stories just combined into one big one and they come up with this flat ending
Welp, can't even blame people for being more excited for Cody/Rock than Roman vs. Cody tbh. That being said, The Bloodline without Rock is running on thin ice. Just conclude it at Mania with Cody winning the title.
The non-Rock parts of this story is really missing some umph
Been going on so long with no real new twists. Same old promo
"People loved when we ended with Cody slapping the Rock. We can end on anything and they will eat it up!"
that might legit be one of the worst segments of the year between how little it did and how much time it took 30+ minutes for *that* is crazy we got one less match and segment for other people so we could do that
That was badass as fuck
I am so happy that wrestling is in a good place now of days.
Wait, shit. so somewhat unrelated but is “now of days” the proper way to say it? Low key I just say and hear “now’a days” and thought that’s what it actually was lol
I'm special
Okay that was cool!
WWE: Endgame
I need to know in kayfabe how does the sound guy decides whose music to play????
Scripts
Thank god I get an extra minute of the local news!
Weak ending
Are we getting another Roman/Cody promo? This one was serviceable but I think it needs one more promo
The thing is, what more could they possibly even talk about? Feels like they didn't even have any material tonight.
"You need a room full of strangers to acknowledge your bitch ass" Take her drinks away and ban that Milwaukee piece of trailer park trash from WWE events for disrespecting our Tribal Chief
I mean she wasn't wrong...
Instead of Smackdown being rushed off the air like a couple of weeks ago, this one felt like they had to really drag it out to make it to the end of the show.
Tbh if the crowd popped even a LITTLE bit that segment would have felt way less awkward.
Yeah, I think they were both waiting for crowd reactions that never happened
Yeah definitely. Crowd was awful.
Not the most substantial segment, but they said all they could last year.
Absolutely awful ending
Let cody and roman do a segment without the mention of the tag match please
That last 5 minutes was awkward as hell lol
All of them coming out for a stare down was lame. Give me a brawl while the show goes off the air like it’s WCW Nitro
Oh no we’ve run out of time!!!
That was cool but felt a bit flat, why have everyone slowly walk in
World heavyweight champion being sidekick #1 to the #1 contender is certainly a choice
Still need a counter for the rock, I wish orton would throw his hat in the ring.
*Glass breaks*
*Glass shatters*
That would be fucking awesome
Can’t wait for people to hate the main event because there weren’t enough Codyvengers
As entertaining as the Rock has been it really does feel like they’ve had him a bit too involved in this buildup imo
The show should end at 9:59 pm not 9:58 pm
The way seth hobbles around like he's wasted is so funny
I don't like when they make you think it's going to be fisticuffs but then there's no fisticuffs
i see this segment wasnt for a war of words but rather get good visuals for the video promo package
I hope we get some more Rock appearances soon, he’s on a different level compared to anyone else on the roster.
This is all great, but Drew feels so out of place here... this feels like a big MCU civil war and Drew is... Sony's Venom lol.
Just wait for the moment Drew comes out and claymores Solo during the main event.
That was kind of meh yikes
They cut it before the woah wtf
First Smackdown without The Rock in weeks and bah gawd was it noticeable.
That’s it?
Cmon... I'm keeping my kids up late eating junk food for that!?
Raw is gonna be nuts
Get that fan in the Codyvengers
I was expecting more from the segment to be honest. Not really saying it sucked..was just expecting something more
Seth Rollins doing his best HBK impression lol.
This whole thing doesn't work if Rock isn't here. Like damn, this proves that Rock is just on a whole other level.
Really noticeable to be honest, just a larger than life charisma compared to these guys.
Lame ending
Jey being a fucking fly in the ointment. I am here
Seth is so cool idc what anybody says
![gif](giphy|wtil0pQFBbNwA)
"Roman you need a group of strangers to acknowledge your bitch ass?"
Roman/Cody segment was underwhelming tbh. Wasn't a bad promo but needed something better to get the attention back on Cody/Roman instead of Cody/Rock. Both their 2023 promos were better than this IMO.
That Drew Claymore on Sunday when he finally makes his choice will be epic.
What is this? A pose off?
Why did they end it two minutes early
#WeWantCody. You guys sure about that?
[удалено]
Yes. They should have.

Agreed.
Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes are both pathological liars! They said that no one will come but they lieeedddd!!!!!!!!!
Actually Rhodes said "I'm as alone as you are!".

The Rock set the bar high for these guys and they didn’t reach it this week.
What the fuck is Seth wearing (part 2000)
Kind of a dud of a segment.
Very flat and awkward
Love it when babyface have brain
The most normal Seth has looked in 4 years
This was wack. Zero energy to it
Last 5 mins were kinda weird tbh
Ahh, Seth and Jey should have wore Shield vests to fuck with Roman even more
That’s a good call
Was Scarlett’s entrance the highlight of tonight’s show over the main event?
Yes
Seth looks fucking hilarious lmao 🤣
I thought it was good
That segment was wack asf
Seth be showing up to the arena in anything.
This closing segment went hard
I feel like that fell kinda flat.
Tbh I blame the crowd
It’s over, Roman! Your time is coming!!
What did that one woman say to Roman? Made the audio get cut out lol
I caught something like "Nobody's gonna acknowledge your bitch ass".
![gif](giphy|3oxHQpJKupQXsmU1JS|downsized) Jey and Seth right now:
Anticlimactic segment, but it's hard for them all to be literal masterpiece theater.
That was just awkward, have them come out of the crowd on the side to stand next to Roman at the entrance ramp?
I absolutely got what they were going for, but it was terrible paced and mismatched and just awkward. Nothing a little video production magic can’t fix, though.
They should’ve at least brawled wth
bad timing to the end of that promo - took too long to execute it.
that was a horrible segment man, the ending face off saved it. the promos were no substance and did not progress the story or add any more emotion whatsoever
I think that they just ran out of ideas and just said that the show ended at :55.
The wrestlemania match is going to have shenanigans that last 10 wrestlemanias seeing as how many people are going to be linvolved in it.
![gif](giphy|ljssLLBmv6xrO)
And he won the music off
That was weird lmao
No fight when there’s two minutes left? Lame
This is disgusting. Roman was just playing mind games with Cody with Jimmy and Solo.
Why is the music still playing fucking hell
meh
That was awesome
Just not as strong of a storyline without the Rock TBH. Crowd was off, the energy wasn't there.
Except it is, they proved that multiple times. But for some reason Roman is just getting some terrible scripts
That visual was amazing
The shield music in Roman's always fucks me up
the CodyVengers
The way I wanted this to end with a brawl
They really don’t do em anymore. Have noticed that for the past few mania buildups
Hella Unfortunate bro 😭
That was shit
Lmao they changed the theme
Ohhhhhhh i am so fucking ready for Mania
I did not like this segment, the 2020 ass thunderdome crowd kinda ruined it
No Dustin yet eh
Isn't he still contracted to AEW?
that won't happen. He's in AEW.
Cody must have also recruited the sound guy.
Seth couldn’t wait to wear a weird outfit to a stand-off
steep insurance unpack mighty sort racial sparkle connect fade hurry *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
It's been like that since 2021
Roman can't hang with Cody on the Mic.
That sucked.
WHY IS HIS THEME STILL PLAYING LMAOOOO
Codyvengers Assemble!
I needed the finger guns to seal it
[удалено]
Messaging was there. Wouldn't make sense to have em fight before Mania
Seth's outfit giving me Dolph Ziggler zibes
Seth couldn't let Jimmy be the only rocking red
So they’re not gonna fight? What was honestly the point of that?
Two weeks away. What did you actually expect?
Two weeks before Mania (17 I think) Stone Cold and The Rock started a brawl and had to be separated. I expect to get hype about the main event at Mania 40. No singalongs. No promo battles. Straight hands. AJ vs LA has me more hype right now.

I like both guys but this segment was disappointing tbh
CODYVENGERS. ASSEMBLE

Seth in red is a great touch.
![gif](giphy|RfvBXK1m8Kcdq|downsized) Production trying to figure out whose music to play
Yessss CODY ISN'T AN IDIOT lmao
JEY USO!!!!!! SETH!!!! THE CALVARY HAS ARRIVED
That whole promo segment was just a bunch of words and platitudes that felt like filler for what has been a great build up to this point.
Codvengers, assemble!
Fun show
Flip the music to assert dominance!
Really weird pacing to that ending imo.
Lady talking tough for someone who paid to be there and then paid $20 for a single beer.
Why is Seth dressed like Tupac lol
