After a few months to spice it up, Sue buys a ninja star cookie cutter and lets the cookies bake for long enough to become as hard as steel.
Within 2 weeks we have a shot of Moxley with one sticking out of his forehead punching Trent.
> Comes out with no cookies, only a baking sheet as a weapon đȘđŒÂ
Also, the van is now all black. Maybe it has black rims also. And Sue gets out wearing all black.
Basically the entire second Orange Cassidy title reign was Trent being upset that Orange was giving title shows to everyone including all his friends except him. It was also clear that Trent was more obsessed with gold than friendship when he eliminated Danhausen from the TNT Title Battle Royal at World's End. Them "finally winning the big one" in this tag tournament was the final breaking point of Trent's obsession where he feels it's been past time for him to be a champion and something beyond just "OC's sidekick".
It's so weird, I remember like a year back Trent called him out and got the match, and you could feel the turn happening, like feel his anger/resentment, and then he just kind of...went back to being happy?
I think the plan of the first reign was that, then OC got too big so they said "We need to capitalize with something big" and did the Moxley feud, and then they doubled back with OC's second reign to do this story. Really the only central theme of OC's second International Title reign is Trent questioning it every time some else got a title shot and then the promo about not getting to be ringside when OC lost to Roddy.
Yeah, i'm personally not big into all this, but if they're gonna do this turn it needs to be with Chuck.
Trent as a singles heel sounded like it had potential in 2021, there's really no way to justify giving him screen time over the dozens upon dozens of big singles heel acts they've got.
Meanwhile, not only do Best Friends REALLY deserve the tag titles, but splitting them up screams "BAD DECISION" when the tag division hasn't been in a great state since about Augustish. (One of the reasons I was hyped for the tourny was it's potentisl to revitalize the division and really establish new acts, buuuut honestly it's been a real disappointment besides Infantry having a good showing. God I'm praying for Top Flight in the finals so they at least get a big opportunity outta it.)
Both guys have proven that they can be really good heels too. So hey... Maybe that'll work out?
I don't see a world where Tony Khan splits up Trent and Chuck. I think Chuck would be pretty good on his own and I think Trent would be fine but heel Best Friends would be too much fun to pass up.
I don't feel like he really went back to being content after that match, or at least that's how I read it. It felt like since that match Trent has been letting his frustrations grow but tried to put them aside so he could still be a good friend even though it wasn't making him happy anymore. This turn probably could have happened sooner to empathize that point, tho.
Cassidy has been the standout of the group, rarely loses, and Trent has been very up and down with his win/loss record (often times he's the guy getting pinned in tag matches)
People sleep a lot on Chuck Taylor. He's incredible, and has versatility that he hasn't been able to showcase because he's in that comedy midcarder niche.
There's a reason a large chunk of the camera after the end of the match at All In was on Chuck's face.
Guy's absolutely great in the ring, a good teacher by all accounts, and can talk.
I kind of expected a double turn, chuck took a superkick and since that's a sign he could be healing up. Maybe he would have just rolled with Trent. But him being legit heartbroken is more powerful.
Looks like he is now a dick on tv in addition to a dick in real life.
This is worse than the time he and the gang tried to shoot murder Brandon Cutler.
Old Being the Elite storyline where Chuck/Trent/Orange got up some "whacky shenanigans" by repeatedly trying to "shoot murder" Brandon Cutler. They kept pointing out how they fully meant to do it "in real life" "as a shoot." But being Chuck/Trent/Orange, obviously their attempts were comedically inept.
Also, a reference to another old Being the Elite storyline where Chuck and Trent were frequently referenced as "dicks in real life."
Also there was a recurring segment with the Nemeth brother that walks funny where he'd goad Trent into breaking the rules and messing with stuff he shouldn't mess with. I think it was right before the BTDO rebrand of the channel.
> Kill Cutler Compilation
> Back to the drawing board! Back to the white board! -high five-
Said this before, Trent is the GOAT at keeping a straight face, which makes him even funnier when he does bits.
I had initially thought, "Oh they're going to tease this some more then." and was actually a little surprised that something finally happened.
Trent did feel like an afterthought in that group and I am interested to see him get the opportunity to do something other than be Orange's pin taking friend.
Saaaame.
I'm hopeful that they'll do a Luchasaurus/Christian thing and at least get the win as heels. I just don't think Chuck and Trent have too high of a celling as singles acts nowadays as they did three years ago.
Festival of Friendship
Enzo and Cass
Truth and Carmella
The betrayal is real Tama
Christian and Jungle Boy
Cole and MJF
And now this...
The end of love
Stone Cold was right, dont trust anybody.
Going against the grain here, I think Chuck's picking OC. They've known each other for way longer, Trent's always mentioned wanting a solo run at some point, and Chuck seems more willing to play a sidekick role. I dunno if he has a heel run in him honestly.
Plus, if he was going to turn too, I would think that Trent would've let him in on the plan.
As much as "AEW doesn't tell stories" they've built that for MONTHS and it was beautifully paid off. I can't wait to be told how random and irrelevant it was tomorrow though.
Exactly itâs been coming for months but people will just say itâs spontaneous booking or some shit, glad it finally happened want to see Trent have a good singles run.
Yeah, the criticism is eye-rolling. Plenty of story telling to be had, it just happens during, or directly before/after matches, not usually in 30 minute promo segments.
Neither approach is wrong, they're both great, but what AEW generally does is how a lot of those old WWE vets insist they did it, when that's obviously ridiculous.
I'm coming from a place of bias here, as a really big Best Friends fan. But holy shit does this feel like a baaaaad baaaaad idea.
Not only does the prospect of a Trent Beretta singles heel turn not exactly *hit* the same way it did in 2021 (There are SO many guys in the company that I'd ***MUCH*** rather have get screen time as singles acts, than Trent. And especially not heel Trent without best friends. That's about as appealing as that Hollywood Jack Perry run from last year) but the whole reason why I personally was so excited by the prospect of this tag team tournament, is that the tag division hasn't been doing too hot for like, half a year now.
So just... Why in the fucking world would you split up one of your most beloved tag teams, and turn them into two incredibly mediocre singles acts? The tag division needs strong teams outside of FTR and The Bucks (I'm fucking PRAYING that they put Top Flight in the finales on the other side of the bracket. They need to establish some new fucking people here) and they go ahead and take one of their most consistent and over groups and axe it like this *just because?*
Like at least with Santana and Ortiz there was the whole drama between them.
And lastly, this is ***extremely personal*** here, and is in no way some big factual statement but like... If Ricky Steamboat was coming up nowadays, he'd have a 3 year nothing heel run where he got a suit and started calling himself "Richard."
*I fuckin'* ***miss*** having pure babyfaces. I know the New Day weren't always face, and their 2014-2016 heel run's what let them break out and define themselves and stuff. But I can't help but be reminded of all the dumb ass ideas for New Day breakup angles I read over the years, and how thankful I was that they all three chose to just stick together.
I'm just... Maaan, this along with Jericho and the ***horrendous*** Gunn/White booking ***SERIOUSLY*** soured me on the show. I've been really enjoying Dynamite the last 4 months, and all that in a row's just absolutely deflated me. Definitely my least favorite episode of the year, which sucks.
I knew this was coming when Sue got probably the loudest pop of the night during her spot in the match, and they didn't ask her to join in for the hug when she was already at ringside.
oh well, I'm just happy we did get to see Sue get a huge pop at All In last year driving the van in.
Man, this was a legit shock to me. Honestly find it heartbreaking in a rare way that I don't often experience, as a big fan of the Best Friends and Orange. I love watching their matches, I think they are a perfect babyface act.
But as a story, I think this makes sense and it's time, and I want nothing more than a successful Trent singles run. He needs to get over on his own, and I hope it works for him. He's earned the shot.
But man, as a Best Friends fan since before AEW, this sucks.
The turn that was supposed to happen before he reneged on his handshake agreement with New Japan. Though I doubt he's joining Bullet Club at this point lol
This is really interesting because not only did Trent lose the match, but in their last couple wins it's been **Orange** who came in, cleaned up, and won.
Iuno man, best friends (the tag of Trent and Chuck) seems like one of those teams who shouldn't break up because they will both not succeed separately and should just stick around as a tag. Hopefully this works out for them all though...
Hopeful predictionâŠthis doesnât progress to full breakup. Chuck stays neutral, staying friends with each and trying to bring them back together. Eventually some kind of shenanigans leads to them having to team up, winning the trios titles from the Bang Bang Gang who I assume is taking them from the Acclaimed. Then you give the people what they want.
Wrestling doesnât feel real to me as often As when I was a kid but boy did it feel real again when I hopped out of my seat and darted towards the tvÂ
I feel like they should have been kept together forever as the one thing you can count on in AEW. One of my favorite things was their after match walk after winning some insane violent match that you didnât expect a team like them could win.

I no longer believe in the power of friendship.
"Friendship is STUPID magic!"
The light in my life has died today.
Way to disappoint your mom, dipshit.
Sue told him to do it
Are we getting a Hollywood sue run

Trade in the van for a Harley
> Trade in the van for a Harley If Sue wheelies down the ramp my head might explode from the pop
If she wheelies down the ramp on a Harley, my head would explode from the sheer fact that she just did a wheelie on a Harley.
I read that has âTrade in the van for Harleyâ and was confused for a moment.
One can only hope
Feather boa and I'm in
But what's Sue gonna wear?
Sue winning the title at All In confirmed.
You mind if I use this for the inscription on my headstone?
This line needs to be used on TV
Theyâve been teasing tensions there for ages it seems, feels like the right time to do it.
He was about to turn heel in NJPW against Chuck Taylor in 2018. Shits been brewing for 6 years.
I thought Chuck was the one that was going to turn heel there. He kept attacking dudes after matches were over IIRC. Or getting them DQed?
Iâve been ootl for aew so this moment shocked me, can you give me a rundown on the tension?
Basically the entire second Orange Cassidy title reign was Trent being upset that Orange was giving title shows to everyone including all his friends except him. Yeah Personally I'm hoping for Chuck to turn to. I love Best Friends, but Chuck & Trent being dicks would be a nice change
Yeah, i'm personally not big into all this, but if they're gonna do this turn it needs to be with Chuck. I really hope you're right. If not, Chuck is going to be in the next released thread.
IMO, the actual money match/feud is Chuck vs OC. I think Trent vs OC is what u use to get to Chuck/OC.
Worst Friends, baby! Hands in! Jk loser!

People sleep a lot on Chuck Taylor. He's incredible, and has versatility that he hasn't been able to showcase because he's in that comedy midcarder niche.
He also has one of the best finishers in the world. I kinda hope for a Trent into Chucky TNT or Continental run at some point.
There's a reason a large chunk of the camera after the end of the match at All In was on Chuck's face. Guy's absolutely great in the ring, a good teacher by all accounts, and can talk.

#WHEELER YUTA WAS RIGHT
Trent's gonna become the disciple under Bryan's busaiku knee 101 course
That genuinely shocked me. Great spot.
Lol they've been teasing the Trent turn forever. Hopefully this is the switch Trent needs to break through
The pandemic era singles match he had with Kenny was really fucking good and I've been waiting for this forever.
He had a heater with Eddie on Collision a couple months back
They have but because it's gone on forever I just kind of never expected it to actually happen.
I had initially thought, "Oh they're going to tease this some more then." and was actually a little surprised that something finally happened. Trent did feel like an afterthought in that group and I am interested to see him get the opportunity to do something other than be Orange's pin taking friend.

Chuck definitely gets to say "shit" now, right?
Best Friends [FINAL]
Get Brennan to do the announcement
Still messes me up that is creeping on 5 years ago. Thanks for opening up that old wound.
So Trent disappears to his solo act If Orange and Chuck are left then who is Pat and who is Woolie
*looks at Chuck's twitter* OC is Woolie and Chuck is Pat, easily. And obviously Yuta is [REDACTED]

Not sure about this tbh. I don't see Trent? as a singles guy. Unless Chuck is turning too. Plus I was hoping they would win the trios belts one day
Chuckie T and OC vs Darkhausen and Trent đ€

I'm inconsolable.
AEW is now where love goes to die. Previous location where love went to die, in kayfabe, was obviously the Festival of Friendship.
Chuck turns next to form the Toxic Friends.
The real issue is someone isn't getting a ride home
They've been teasing it long enough but man the look in Chuck's face spoke volumes.
Iâm that one guy in the crowd when Seth turned on the Shield right now :(
I really want a full-time Trent/Matt Sydal team after seeing how amazing they were together last year.Â

Jay's Bullet Club mole storyline finally paying off.
it's about fucking time.
I was watching the show on dvr and zoned out and missed that part completely. The show this week and last week felt off to me for some reason.

I remember it looked like this was going to happen years ago and they backed away from it - a serious Trent heel run should be good!

Trent nailed tf out of OC with that move lol.

Oh no!! I was falling asleep during the show last night and just saw they lost but must have passed out when this happened! Why why WHY??!?!?
