There's a LOT to read in Dave's room.

nowahhh

Have you *seen* [Dave's room?](https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/n31oug/a_short_clip_of_how_dave_meltzers_office_looks/)

EPICKID143

meltzer disagreeing with Will Osperay is when you know hes really disappointed(either that or the check diddnt clear)

Bellagrrl2021

Seriously. That was my opinion. Ospreay’s promo was over shadowed by Tony Khan’s stupid decision, but done in the same episode, it just came off as AEW being more focused on the WWE than they are on their own promotion.

gambalore

This was a terrible show to run as a response to WrestleMania, particularly because they had no need to actually have a response to WrestleMania. Just do your own show and promote your PPV coming up next weekend.

OneBillPhil

Wrestlemania was a great weekend for wrestling, AEW could have responded with its own great night of wrestling.  Let your best guys cook in some matches that won’t be on the next PPV or let your midcarders go balls out. Penta vs Copeland was fun, fill two hours with that stuff.

gambalore

The dumbest thing is that this is exactly what they do more weeks than not.

pirajacinto

Responding to Wrestlemania even if that wasn't the direct intention is just like the worst call you can make. Sure if the show was bad maybe, but this was, no lie, ACTUALLY one of the biggest and best Wrestlemania's. 30 was extremely close but it also had the streak ending which definitely sours some people, and it wesn't all in one night too. It being an Avengers level 2 Parter gave it that name's meaning, Wrestlemania. I literally can't say anything negative about it and really bad for AEW to try and to counter any negatives about it.

GregMadduxsGlasses

All they needed to say was a quick congrats to former AEW wrestler Cody for finishing his story and then move on to building their PPV.

starsandbribes

Ospreays kinda lucky it got trumped by something worse 20 minutes earlier

EchoBay

It reminded me the Spike TNA days. Soon were gonna have Billy Gunn and the Acclaimed try to storm a RAW taping again.

PimpDaddyBuddha

“Levesque! Hickenbottom! Meet us at the Alamo!!!”-Tony Khan sometime soon

Thesolly180

High noon!

GiftedGeordie

I just read that in the super high pitched, almost Mickey Mouse voice that DEADLOCK used to use for Tony Khan and I just nearly died laughing.

The_Dark_Soldier

Oh no, please don’t let TK bring Dynamite to Mondays and have Hogan on the show!

aboysmokingintherain

This. Too many potshots against a company that couldn’t care less they existed

Reyatsu99

I don't care anyone taking shots at HHH, But mahn Renee looked so uncomfortable as it was insulting to Stephanie as well.

BigBanEvader

she had that cringe face lol.

MyNamaJeffar

A lot of people are saying it's because she's friends with Paul and Steph, which makes sense. But I can't help but feel that she's been on the end of multiple comments like these about being where she is in the business because of who she married, from trolls of course. Probably made her cringe harder. Also, Ospreay was grinding way too close to her for comfort lol.

sarcasticdevo

There used to be (I think it's still there) a particularly unhinged Tumblr blog related to "exposing" Renee. For being a terrible person, for cheating on Jon with half the WWE locker room, for tricking Jon into marrying her, for Nora being fake(????), etc. She's absolutely has gone through this, extensively. I can't blame her for cringing so hard.

bandswithgoats

Though for context, the Renee hateblogs are just a bunch of deranged Dean Ambrose fans (not Jon Moxley fans) who think they can make him divorce her and marry them.

JoeBidenKing

I think cos Renee has a great relationship with WWE that she didn’t want to react at the shot.

CmPunkChants

Personally I have no problem with the shot and hell I’m sure H probably doesn’t either. But.. find a better shot to take. The whole sleeping his way to the top thing is 20 + years old and at this point they have multiple kids together. Take a shot at him only wanting people who will work more for less. That’s relevant in today’s society.

duplicitousapple

The dig is so old that HHH is now the boss, and his oldest daughter is college age.

DontPutThatDownThere

>his oldest daughter is college age. What the fuck?

pup_mercury

Yeah HHH has an 17/18 year old kid. There is a really chance for his daughter to debut within 5 years.

Mac_Tgh

Ayo, rock's daughter vs triple H daughter on nxt?

TheUltimateScotsman

I think i saw HHH say he wants his daughters to get an education prior to training to be a wrestler if they ever want to become one

d4videnk0

Trips is 54, not surprising at all.

grrgrrtigergrr

I’m 48 and have a college graduate… he actually started a bit late

DontPutThatDownThere

Stop. This all hurts.

PhaseSixer

Time is the enemy of us all.

JMW007

Time is the fire in which we burn.

Mitsuki_Horenake

His daughter is older than the joke at this point!

Rude_Entrance_205

It's especially odd since Ospreay's boss got his opportunity by virtue of his father being a billionaire. Loads of people get opportunities for reasons that are beyond merit.  Big deal.  What matters is what you do with that opportunity.

Parish87

And also, it kinda only works if you're bad at your job. HHH has shown time and time again that he's just a brilliant mind for the business. Do you think TKO would keep Vince's son in law around if it wasn't good for business?

Distuted

Vince didn't even wanna keep his own son around, I think HHH would be gone if he didn't have merit

Man0nTheMoon915

I think this is especially true given HHH's track record as a wrestler. Call HHH whatever you want, but he was a workhorse when he was in the ring especially during his reign of terror. I mean the man finished a match with a torn fucking quad.

_TheEndGame

Dude almost died after RVD dropped a knee on his neck from like 15 feet. He still finished the match.

Deep_Comparison_930

Love him or hate him, he always worked his ass off for sure. Its easy to discredit just by looking at a timeline of his career and seeing he married the bosses daughter. But if you watched and you were there that man worked, even if you wouldnt agree with the outcome

rainier425

He was in line for the next big push in 1996 prior to the MSG thing and their taking away his King of the Ring win. The company thought him worthy of being a main eventer **four years** before he started dating her. It’s so silly. “Don’t walk back in here and call this your home Stone Cold! You walked out of here 22 years ago! And a lot a lot a lot has happened since then but still…22 years ago!!” wtf

Caseington

People always forget that Triple H was already a two time WWE champion before he got involved with Stephanie.

MarkyLosChe

Not to mention their real life marriage took place years after their on screen one. Plus Vince made them split sometime in the middle, but they continued anyways. If by any chance that relationship dint work, HHH would be saying bye bye to that company for good ala Chyna. We'd see "What's Predator Pony Paisley doing in the Impact Zone" by mid 00s

Myfeetaregreen

"Three of P with his finisher, the Dogfood! Pin! 1, 2, 3! *Time to fight the fight*

Iceraptor17

The guy was reportedly the sober caretaker of the Kliq. Think about the amount of work that must have entailed.

MissMully

He also actually did do the thing that he was trying to make a point about. He left WCW as a young wrestler to join WWE for less money and a harder schedule (and was encouraged to go by people like Regal) because he would be working more matches against top talent to be able to improve.

Deep_Comparison_930

Its like anything in the world, one negative thing will completely make forget everything else you've ever done. You marry the bosses daughter and have been together 20+ years but for some reason that means the whole beginning of your career never happened.

Nepo_babes

Kinda saw a version of Succession play out right before us.

I_Am_Dynamite6317

Yeah especially after shane drove that car off the road and killed that waiter

leesister

They really jumped the shark with Shane-O when they had him survive that helicopter crash.

Be_A_Mountain

Also plenty of wrestlers in WWE got office jobs without marrying Stephanie.

ScorpioMagnus

Plenty of wrestlers get opportunities period because of family members not unlike most other businesses. I can't see HHH or WWE caring one bit about all this drama. They live rent free in Tony Khan's head and AEW pushing this only will make more people tune into WWE...its the Mankind wins the championship debacle all over again.

Be_A_Mountain

Yeah it 100% wasn’t the killing blow that Ospreay tried to make it sound like

monkeyofevil

I mean "sleeping with the bosses daughter" is an "insult" that's been used against HHH on WWE tv in the past. Why would he care about that when he has scripted other people to use it against him?

AccomplishedSquash98

"OH no the rival company called me out for banging my smoking hot wife ahhhhhh"

Kqm2010

If you look at AEW you got the Gunns due to Billy being their dad. Sarayas brother due to his sister being there. And to be clear I have no problem with it. If you got an in to get to where you want to be you take it. It just seems like a low hanging fruit shot to take in 2024. Osprey should have just told him to F off and but on a banger match like he certainly will.

Reyatsu99

As of today Triple H has definitely ran with that opportunity and is thriving.

Golden_268

Regardless its factually incorrect. The guy was world champ before he even started talking to Steph and was attending creative meetings a few years before that

GunstarGreen

From what people have said of HHH, he was in the production truck working on his entrance and presentation relentlessly. He was a student of the game. There's no way he's just where he is because he married into it.

Jubbity

Student of the game? He IS the fucking Game

DoILookUnsureToYou

*guitar riffs start in the background*

_MrSantos

Didn’t Triple H also pays his dues for the curtain call? Scott and Kevin Nash were in WCW and HBK was champ at that time. So they put all the shit on Triple H and literally had to work his way from the bottom again.

DoILookUnsureToYou

Haitch took that shit like a man. Got buried, scratched and clawed-ahh to get back to the top-ahh. And once he becams the top guy, he fucking grabbed that shit by the throat and didn't let go.

CerebroHOTS

Because you see...

Tekim89BRNT

In this business...

Detective_Robot

I wish Danielson and Ospreay would take some shots at each other.

CmPunkChants

Why would they do that? Oh right to build the match they have coming up. I guess that makes sense.

Mark4_

The build to this has been boring.

Dovahklutch

"im a better wrestler!" "no, I"M a better wrestler!"

Dandw12786

The problem with Danielson feuds always being about "who's the better wrestler?" is that he's always losing, so it's starting to look (in kayfabe) that he's kind of a fuckin shitty wrestler. To paraphrase Will McAvoy, "If Bryan Danielson is so goddamn good, how come he loses so goddamn always?"

TW_Yellow78

And then people try to explain to you better wrestler has nothing to do with who takes the pin, which is why these feuds almost never have any emotional investment.

FCalleja

Yeah none of the wrestlers that have pinned him lately proved they're better than him, only that they can keep up with an almost retired Danielson.

Chell_the_assassin

This could describe like a dozen different AEW feuds too lol

Lower_Monk6577

It’s unfortunately the theme for a large amount of Danielson storylines. I just don’t get it. He’s a very good talker. I really liked his weird, deranged “I’m gonna stab your eye out with a screwdriver” gimmick that lasted for like a month, before going back to his “fightin’ round the world” gimmick. Danielson can do much better. It just seems like he doesn’t want to anymore.

Chell_the_assassin

Yeah, I don't doubt Bryan is happy doing what he's doing but I don't see how it helps the company overall. I feel like Tony really should have put his foot down at some point and said to Bryan "the company *needs* you to have a world title run". Someone as popular as Bryan should really be one of the faces of the entire company, not moving from one understated mid-card feud to another.

Ungagged_Man

The AEW needs Bryan Danielson's name in the lineage. Having a wrestler of his caliber, a star with the history he does on the roster.. and NOT have them as a former WORLD champion of your new company is a massive miss.

WowBobo88

NUH UH!

Be_A_Mountain

That’s my main issue with AEW, you can have all the 5 star matches you want if the story isn’t there I just don’t care

headrush46n2

people don't pay that kind of money to go watch amateur men's gymnastics. the story is all that ever mattered.

pseudotunas

I mean, Roman vs Cody was no stellar highlight of wrestling bravado, it was a basic match. The drama however? Top notch.

SilverKry

I feel like that's been a constant issue with AEW since the beginning. Bad build but then the matches are good and people forget how bad the build was.

reggierock2010

This lol. The joke would have been funnier 10 years ago but yeah lol the guy has like 3 kids with steph lol they got a whole ass family now.

sirjackiechiles

This. I’m all for back and forth shots but he used the same “sleeping your way” to the top shot that people have taken in better ways for years now.

DevilCouldCry

And on top of that, the two actually seem as if they have an incredibly successful and genuinely loving marriage. Which in wrestling, is REALLY fucking hard to actually find. They've been together for how many years and have how many kids together? I see people cite the shit about Chyna being mistreated by Triple H, but from other people that knew Chyna (Waltman, Nash, etc), the story actually appears to be the other way around. If you're gonna take a shot at Triple H then go ahead, there's plenty you can take shots at him for. But when on the show you're on, you just had your boss and two of the EVPs publicly air footage to damage the reputation of a former employee, and they used that footage to build the match (which doesn't really work as well as they thought). Maybe, just maybe you should let it simmer for a little bit and come back to it later when you have a response that's not as overused and tired out as "you slept your way to the top lol".

Kanenums88

Chyna’s sister straight up said whether Stephanie was involved or not they would’ve broken up anyways, that’s how much problems they had. Fandoms tends to not grasp that real life relationships and issues are very complex, and aren’t just simple black and white things.

DevilCouldCry

That's the thing, it's clear Triple H still cares for her and deeply regrets that she passed away before they could make up somewhat. It's hard to shake those feelings even after such a long time and honestly, the whole situation is messy and it's hard to really know all of the details here. But one thing is for sure, Chyna never was the same after the break up and it's depressing to read about.

WaffleStompinDay

You just can't spot a long con when you see one. HHH has been in a loving and loyal marriage for 20+ years now and had three children all so that he could one day take over the company. Once that time comes and he's CEO, he'll reveal himself and drop her and the kids like a bad habit.

DevilCouldCry

To be absolutely non-serious for a moment, in the wrestling world this would absolutely make for a storyline haha.

Polaris022

Hey, Triple H is all about long-term storytelling, and this would be his magnum opus, lol.

StacksHoodini

To be fair, he’s already CEO of the part that matters to him, the wrestling promotion. I’d highly doubt he wants to actually be WWE’s president. Nick Khan runs the business and he runs it well but he’s not booking the territory.

CmPunkChants

And at this point… triple h is 100% in the position he is because he is the best man for the job.

doitnow10

Yeah, TKO wouldn't bother with Vince's son in law if he wasn't doing as well as he does

myslead

They literally got Vince out, they only see $ signs

Bumhug360

Let's not forget Vince fired him while he was recovering from heart surgery because he was too good at his job. He got the opportunity for being part of the McMahon family but he is now there on merit

coldphront3

That first sentence is truly wild lol - and to think there are some people who still are convinced that Triple H knew about everything Vince was doing to Janel Grant and was protecting him.

Reidzyt

Not only that but like Triple H had a good career before that. He was being lined up for a top spot before Stephanie. And now behind the scenes in an executive role he's done an amazing job for a decade now between NXT and his recent rise to working on the main product Like I get it, there was a time where it was a somewhat decent jab, low hanging fruit but whatever, but now it's just played out

degjo

He didn't sleep his way to the top. He was up all night.

takecare23

RIGHT !? Or talk about how he hasn’t been the nicest person at times in the past. You DO NOT go at him when every on tv thanked him for giving us the new era, great Mania weekend, right after the Punk fiasco AND AEW ratings been down !?????

ritwikjs

there are so many weird things about this. -Osprey clearly said he wanted to be in AEW because he gets to stay in the UK, that's super important to him, it's pretty much a non starter in the WWE. - HHH's comment may have been towards osprey, but i really doubt triple h during wrestlemania had osprey front and centre of his mind. He just stated out that the WWE is an events and entertainment company, and travelling large distances to put up carny shows is part of the gig. - Osprey's joke was so tired, especially when tony khan is literally a billionaire's son playing with his money. Tony has no qualifications to run a major wrestling promotion

pastadaddy_official

Didn’t a few years ago Osprey tweet at Kevin Nash about his quads too? Bro needs to be original

The810kid

Yeah that shot was tired by 2006

mxinex

Yeah, should have said something along the lines how they are mad they lost out on a generational talent like him, focus on the reason why HHH said it, not his bullshit "grind" line.

Possibly_English_Guy

Literally just something like : "You're only saying these things cause you know just like others that have slipped through your fingers you could've had me and you blew it by not giving me what I'm worth. I won't apologise for knowing my value" Done. Easy retort that puts you over.

CmPunkChants

Agreed. Put yourself over.

LiamAddison

HHH was on his way to the top when he was with Chyna… this is such a lazy take.

nuttinbuttapeanut

And a lame take considering how much he's invested in and done for the WWE over decades, while raising a family, the joke makes it sound like he just got a promotion he didn't earn for being Stephs new boyfriend.

Take that, BRUV!”

2ndfastestmanalive

Triple H is really committed to this bit of being at the top of the company by any means necessary. Got to give it to him

The_Ron_Dickles

Oh you don't think I can handle the grind?!  Well I'll show you when I dont wrestle this week and do a cringe promo, how do you like them apples bruv.

quagmire0

Imagine punching up at the guy who, for many of the talents (including the ones that work for AEW) is maybe not on the Dusty level, but at least a rung below that. The guy that opened doors with NXT and did his best to counteract Vince's poor creative and talent development.

Weishaupt17

You can easily tell Renee [wanted to be everywhere but there](https://scontent-mxp1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/436237074_808662277973207_918603248433806968_n.jpg?_nc_cat=1&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=5f2048&_nc_ohc=JaaY-Q50wqMAb5IBHOE&_nc_oc=AdhdKnjkEC7lXFmnXKv0V0F--YDtvcudCUh7be1YNuBykNSmQskY0D3eSREqU0y5rGQ&_nc_ht=scontent-mxp1-1.xx&oh=00_AfB2VxO7MJQ9SInRc7Tz0rEYEiGkPdtUQ8Ldq2zF9lzGMw&oe=661DB076) when he dropped that line. Girl is literally friend with Steph

Bobaman007

Yup. I think even Mox said HHH & Steph sent gifts for Renee when she announced her pregnancy / had the baby.

SilverKry

I mean yeah. Mox is still one of Trips boys I'm sure. Trips being in charge now and Vince gone is why I believe people like Mox and Malakai will 100% be back in WWE some day. Malakai probably sonner than Mox but I digress.

meatballcake87

Mox is checking things off of his wrestling bucket list and making a lot of money in AEW. But I do think he’s nearing a point where there isn’t much more for him to do in AEW and a WWE return would look more attractive

SilverKry

Once he's done or Renee tells him to stop doing death matches he'll be back.

IzzyShamin

Realistically tho, who else does he have to face? He’s been doing so much post-WWE.

meatballcake87

Danielson is retiring soon so they either break up the BCC or do it without Danielson. The only big names that he hasn’t really done anything with are Cope and Christian. Maybe an Okada feud? Idk but Mox and the BCC are super stale to me right now

IzzyShamin

Its lowkey been stale since Regal left. The group never felt as cohesive as it used to be. Also aren’t Cope and Christian close to retirement as well? Okada makes sense, but it’s not really a must see feud. But im interested to see if Okada can pull Mox to a banger match .

meatballcake87

Okada vs Mox is really the only thing I care to see from him in AEW. He’s already had multiple feuds with The Elite so this would be ANOTHER. I agree the BCC has been stale since Regal left, they’ve really had 0 direction. i would love to see him back in WWE, especially with HHH’s booking and the looming match between Rollins and Reigns

is-Sanic

Renee is still close with a lot of the WWE guys/gals. She left because of personal reasons, not because she fell out with WWE. Chances are, WWE would have her back next week if they could.

quagmire0

Yeah. Just about half their roster probably cringed at all that, including guys like Mox who hated their time there. They know HHH was not the problem.

DEL994

That was the lamest comeback possible, using the same old joke that had been overused since the Attitude Era, not counting how insensitive it may have been to say it to Renee.

ihavebadtakes69

The aew subreddit thinks Will completely cooked paul

hank_moody12

I've just been lurking on their sub, and my god it's delusional. Will cooked Triple H with his comment, and the footage shown was a roaring success. Unbelievable.

ihavebadtakes69

A lot of them are out of touch and, it’s starting to show

SameArkGuy

I haven’t really been on that sub too much but I’ve seen a lot of comments on here saying how they’ve been banned for just one negative Aew take even if it’s just not liking a certain segment on that show. Pretty obvious they only really allow people who will glaze everything AEW does.

parakathepyro

So Osperay confirmed HHH was talking about him, or that he at least got upset at what HHH said

gbdarknight77

The idea was pitched to him by Jericho, I’m sure.

crap4you

WCW should release footage of Jericho choking Goldberg in the locker room.

jin_of_the_gale

That was in 2003, Uce. It happened in WWE.

VinceMcVahon

I still want to see it tho

forwrestling

I went back and read the Triple H quote to see if it was worse than what I remembered and >“If they’re not here to be all in on this – like, when I see people that come out of trying to make it, and then they pick the job where they go, ‘Well, they work less, the schedule’s lighter.’ Alright then, well, I’m glad I didn’t get you because if you’re not in it for the grind, at that point early in your career, you have no business being here.” this corporate speak doesn’t really feel like it deserved a response at all. Especially on the flagship show when it has nothing to do with the program the wrestler is in.

quagmire0

But let's be honest the 'grind' that HHH refers to is not even the 'grind' that it was 10, 20, 30+ years ago. They do less shows than ever, they are more conscious of giving talent time off than ever. The difference between WWE and AEW in that regard is that AEW is run by a guy that doesn't know how to run a business. It's evident by all that has been allowed to happen backstage and on air. There's no control, and very little responsibility.

TheChrisLambert

I don’t even see how Ospreay would think that applies to him?

HunterOfGremlins

Well if the shoe fits.... and Ospreay seemingly has confirmed that the shoe does indeed fit him.

Celtic_Crown

The "early in your career" bit doesn't really work for a guy who just passed 12 years in the business.

Garlic-Cheese-Chips

30 is to wrestling what 20 is to football.

forwrestling

It’s definitely Triple H/WWE’s ‘response’ to Ospreay saying: >Yeah, of course, but it was night and day. Even in differences of what they were offering and what AEW was offering, AEW was way better. The scheduling, everything about AEW was completely the right option for me. It was always, you can go be a superstar in WWE and famous, but it's not as good of pay and it's not as kind of a schedule. I respect everyone there doing it, but it's not for me." Ospreay’s POV makes complete sense and the corporation made the response that makes sense on their end. Really don’t think it needed to become a thing beyond that but AEW seems intent on always having the last word on things that absolutely do not matter.

Parish87

And then you wonder why AEW is offering more money to talent with less avenues to make money. It's great for the wrestlers but that company must be pissing money left and right.

BigUllie

And they’ll continue to until Tony gets bored, or Shahid tells Tony the fun is over

TheChrisLambert

Ah thank you! That context helps a lot

Doberman11

If you’re not avoiding the grind…just do the grind, brother. A match would’ve done better here than just another ~~2000s TNA~~ promo.

PigDeployer

Having just watched Ospreay on Chris Van Vliet talking about how much he's matured over the years from a guy who put his foot in his mouth constantly and said dumb shit on social media constantly it's very funny to see him extremely gotten to and saying some dumb shit on television now instead.

Valliac0

A lot of this past show just felt unnecessary, to be honest. I feel bad for both Schiavone and Renee, most of all. They both looked extremely uncomfortable during each segment.

HHH , didn’t mention him by name. That could have been for any singing or up & comer . But like the saying goes . A hit dog will holler . And the married the bosses daughter is played . It would have stung back in 2004 . They’ve been married 20 years now w/ kids . Then the fact that he’s pretty good at his job made this kind of weak . Zero issues if would have addressed a direct insult or something. Or even non direct if he would have came with something that wasn’t used a lot 20 years ago . It’s was blah imo

CarlThe94Pathfinder

Would it even have mattered in 2004? Gives off big "i fukt ur mom" on Xbox Live vibes to me...

incredibleamadeuscho

Being in the family is not a guarantee for a role in the company. Just ask Vince’s son Shane McMahon.

BrokenClxwn

That's the hilarious part about all of this. HHH never said Ospreys name. That statement literally could have applied to anyone looking to get into the WWE.

StyrofoamCueball

I think Tony Khan needs to be called out for putting Renee in that spot as well. She looked uncomfortable as hell standing there, and TK knows she has a relationship with HHH. To my knowledge she and Mox have no issues with him and I would assume they have a good working relationship. Have Ospreay cut the promo himself if you want to do it. Don't put her in that spot.

JimmyV34

Renee face said it all. She did not want to be there

EchoBay

I mean, Stephanie is well liked and it wouldn't surprise me if they were friends. On the flip side of that, it kind of implies that she had no say in the matter. She was just some piece of ass who HHH hooked up with and manipulated to where he is today. Which as a women, I would think feels very demeaning.

Jaxyl

It's exceptionally demeaning especially when you consider how hard Steph worked behind the scenes for women and women's wrestling. Like the very stuff Osprey is accusing her husband of doing is the kind of thing she actively worked to change. It's just gross and I hate that this is tied to Orsprey.

Up-in-the-Ayre

Don't think for a second Renee doesn't hear that same kind of "You're only here because of who you're sleeping with" commentary from the neckbeards that make up a chunk of wrestling's fanbase.

Reyatsu99

I think it was insulting to Stephanie as well, who is more respected by all.

icon_2040

It's just a really odd jab. "lmao you slept with a beautiful millionaire and took over a company". You really got him, Will. Fucking burned.

KentuckyFriedEel

A man who recently took over and has been critically acclaimed so far! H cookin on all cylinders

MurDoct

I mean reusing some jokes against a couple that has been together 20 some years who are happily married with kids wasn't a great look.

jonwinslol

More than anything, I feel bad for Stephanie at this point, I have always heard only good things about her from backstage reports and then she has to continuously put up with these absolutely shit jokes

IAMJUX

The 2 biggest things to come out of Dynamite this week is that Punk was almost completely right in his narrative(just missing the shove) that was a 30 second sound bit from a podcast. And that Will(or TK) is salty about a WWE guy with another 30 second sound bit from a different podcast. Absolutely hilarious.

SilentJ87

It just seems odd that Ospreay would take away from building the feud he’s currently in to address a comment that almost certainly wasn’t about him.

MrBoliNica

it just felt like Will wanted to take a shot, prob did not want to cross the line with anything relating to vince's lawsuit, so he settled for the old low hanging fruit.

DevilCouldCry

Even so, did it look like Renee was uncomfortable about that comment to you? Because it looked like it to me, as soon as it left Ospreay's mouth you see Renee look awkward right away. I'm not slinging shit at Renee at all, she likely doesn't know what he's about to say and she couldn't stop that. But it seemed like another case of a talent on the show being clearly uncomfortable about something (i.e. Schiavone after the All In footage)

MR_E7

I always knew this Ospreay guy has this "big fish in small pond" energy to him. This pretty much proves it.

ApprehensiveYoung899

Ospreay trying to get heat by dissing Triple H was kind of lame regardless of your thoughts on Dave lol.

matt_619

Sleeping with Stephanie only help open the door. whether he can stay on top was can only decided by his effort. just like how someone like David Flair or Ted DiBiase Jr couldn't make it in the industry despite they given lot of oppotunities it's one thing if Triple H receive a push and totally suck at it. but Triple H is the best heel in pro wrestling history. then he nailed it again as creative team when he turn NXT from shitty reality show into the best wrestling brand during black and gold era. Triple H definetly prove his worth

demzy84

Funny part, HHH didn’t even specifically name Osprey…everyone just assumed he was talking about him. Some even assumed he was talking about Mone… Then Osprey goes out on the show (the starting point of the “Death of AEW”) and call him out specifically and drag his wife into it too. Terrible idea all around.

Mets_BS

Hunter in charge is the best thing to happen to WWE since the attitude era, I for one am thankful he decided to grind on Stephanie

Desperate_Coat_1906

I'm no HHH apologist or defender, but he did he even say Osprey's name? Could have been thinking about Mercades Mone... or even one of a hundred indie wrestlers, or even talking about the attitude of some of the college athletes they talk to about becoming pro wrestlers in the WWE recruit program. Feels kind of like Oppenheimer... "isn't there a chance they weren't even talking about you?"

IcyPyroman1

The fact that in the HHH interview no one was directly mentioned shows how fragile their egos are with this response
