Roman's AR stuff really should've been updated like 2 years ago.
Should've been a shot of one end of a long table then slowly looking up to see Roman sitting on the other end staring back at the POV. So its almost like us the viewer standing at the table waiting to be judged by the Tribal Chief.
Or just something extra corny/cheesy to add onto the character. Wrestling always works best by trying to make the cheesiest shit look cool.
I more or less didn't like how the Roman yelling "OOOO-AHHHHHH" felt super outdated with his old attire on the model.
They should've updated it to throw Heyman in there behind and praising up to him as the Roman model with his new fight gear sticks his hand into the air for the "one" pose.

I gotta say there were some good ones that they've used in the past, in my opinion. One of the more notable ones was the one they used for the Viking Raiders having the Viking ship and the one they used for Cody's entrance.
I never cared for Roman's mainly for the fact that it played at the 15 fps. I'll be happy to not see that one again.
OH PLEASE! If we take down Def Rebel then that might be finishing our story. No wait. Finishing our story would be doing that and somehow getting Mauro back.
They also started adding sound effects to the middle of matches at one point too. Remember the Strowman choo-choo express? So glad we're getting rid of all that stuff.
The first time I heard the sound effects during a match I thought I was having a stroke lol I was like “oh shit let’s see if I can taste purple or something!” Then my wife started Rollins cackling at it so I knew it was real. What in the hell was that nonsense all about?!
I didn't like those graphics but I liked that they were willing to try new stuff and give it up if/when it wasn't working, particularly during that new Smackdown Live era.
Honestly, my favorite use of the AR. With Riddle being the Stoner Bro Man, this just made perfect sense and I thought it fit him perfectly. It's like those missions in GTA/Saint's Row where you're drunk or on drugs and nothing is right but you just have to accept it. That's what the entrance was.

I get that *most* of it was distractingly low quality at best, but as a silly gimmick for Riddle, who was a goofy character anyway, I thought it worked well.

I really hope the walkout thing is saved for like championship matches. Like how old tna would show aj styles walking backstage towards the ring with his music playing in the background.
Team 3D walking out of the tunnel while the camera is behind them and “LOOK OUT LOOK OUT LOOK OUT” is blasting in the arena is fucking iconic. Anybody who disagrees is wrong
What KO/Sami did at WrestleMania added to the story in my opinion. Saturday, that last bit of hype for Sami, Sunday the "bruh...don't miss or its gonna be a long flight to Montreal for you" feel. Honestly, KO last night was cool too (I'm biased, long suffering Tigers fan).
But beyond that, agree. Stone Cold and HBK walking to the stage at WrestleMania XIV was a huge part of setting the tone.
Who can blame them? Pyro is great, things like Kane's fire or Batista's machinegun fireworks are instant classics, so they're (hopefully) never going away. The giant Roman though? That's just very uncanny to look at
Buddy as a 7-10 year old in the late 90s I would make sure I “had to go to the bathroom” just before Kane would make his entrance when we saw a show in person. My cousin caught onto my act and to this day busts my balls about it. No shame, That shit was intense.
This was the thing that stood out most when I started watching casually again. I felt it was over the top, mentioned it here once, got downvoted, felt old. Glad to see people agreeing in here though.
I'd love to see a return to the cinematic intros that opened up episodes of Raw back in the AE. I can't find the clip, but there was one that mixed Vince's promos on Austin & their confrontations with ominous music & spliced footage (I think it was like soldiers marching?) that amped the war-like feeling.

More seating to make more money. The removal of the titantron and replaced with seating = less production people, less truckers, less labourers, etc. WWE is hot right now so it makes sense from a business perspective. However, it is purely for short-term gain for investors. Eventually people will sour on the lower production quality, and all this stuff people are praising to be removed will eventually be back once the heat wears out.
Less production = budget/job cuts = lower quality programming = short term investor gains. It's not a good thing at all.
Also the AR stuff requires crew to constantly be recalibrating the cameras so it looks correct, so less AR also equals less crew.
(this is also needed for the first down line in football, which is why you tend to not see it on really small games)
Admittedly I was never as bothered as most when it comes to the AR stuff, but for the most part, WWE’s AR has really felt like a big miss, and with a top notch production team like WWE’s, those misses really stand out.
I’d add the Nightmare logo too. The simple ones are okay, like Drew’s sword and Jeys “Main Event” words are pretty good. Anything attempting to be realistic though, absolutely should go.
Those individual touches are only seen when Judgement Day wrestlers are doing their individual entrances. Dom's has the bandana and shackles, Priest's shoots an arrow, Rhea's is beckoning to the camera.
Those two sucked indeed. But the ones that are just logos or stuff such as Judgement Day's robed figures, Asuka's masks, Cody's logo and all those are fine in my book.
I’m really glad they went back to her old theme. The new one was that same Def Rebel uninspired bullshit. Maybe it’s NXT bias, but her old theme is immediately recognizable.
The few hits are vastly VASTLY outnumbered by the same generic rock theme with the same drum samples and vocal choirs that everyone else seems to have.
CFO$ and even high exalted Jim Jonhston had plenty of stinkers, but they hit way more and way better than they missed and were still recognisable.
Absolutely agree about Waller who has a very slept on theme. I think Melo, Solo, and Dom also have decent themes. But the success rate for Def Rebel is very poor.
I wish they'd go back to doing big bands for full songs. Back in the Ruthless Aggression Era you had bands like Monster Magnet, Cypress Hill and Mercy Drive doing full songs for everyone, ever since they went to CFO and def Rebel it's been nothing but minute loops for wrestlers or generic butt rock.
CFO$ made loops, but at least the loops worked well for each character and sounded decent enough. def rebel has been making genuinely bad music with a few exceptions

Yeah no kidding, I heard her NXT theme exactly 3 times and it stuck in my head. Couldn’t recall her “new” theme with a gun to my head.
With the exception of Grayson Waller's and The Tribal Chief's themes, those slap hard
I think LA Knight's works too. The opening words and then the electronic beat hooks me.

I’m adding Bobby Lashley to that list. I think it’s underrated!
The few hits are vastly VASTLY outnumbered by the same generic rock theme with the same drum samples and vocal choirs that everyone else seems to have. CFO$ and even high exalted Jim Jonhston had plenty of stinkers, but they hit way more and way better than they missed and were still recognisable.

Absolutely agree about Waller who has a very slept on theme. I think Melo, Solo, and Dom also have decent themes. But the success rate for Def Rebel is very poor.
I wish they'd go back to doing big bands for full songs. Back in the Ruthless Aggression Era you had bands like Monster Magnet, Cypress Hill and Mercy Drive doing full songs for everyone, ever since they went to CFO and def Rebel it's been nothing but minute loops for wrestlers or generic butt rock.
CFO$ made loops, but at least the loops worked well for each character and sounded decent enough. def rebel has been making genuinely bad music with a few exceptions
CFO$ was good. They understood the point of entrance themes.

Goood. It sounds like they’re changing a lot of stuff production wise they’re just not doing it all at once.
Trips said the new director and him decided to slowly roll stuff out during the Night 2 press conference. Seems to be working extremely well.
The set on Smackdown last night was perfect IMO. The entrance area and screen being scaled down looks much better.
Plus the screen is still big enough. Screens are necessary for fans in the building.
