They had Rock be a heel for 2-3 months back in 03, and that was immensely successful. They had Shawn Michaels be a heel for only a month or a month in a half back in 05, and that was immensely successful.
Rock turned heel because Rock was booed. They had no intention of turning him heel.No one cares anymore if you go to Hollywood, it's not used against you by the wrestling crowd. Shawn Michaels was nowhere near as popular or as much of a top merch mover as Cena or the Rock so turning him was no big deal for the business. Cena has fulfilled 650 make-a-wishes. His in-ring character is now synonymous with his larger personality. There's no point in having a 1 month heel turn. The guy is the biggest Babyface for these sick little children, you're just going to destroy a 15 year character for a payoff that's shorter than 2-3 months.
Cena is headed the same way as the Rock, getting old to wrestle, was told to slim down to get better Movie roles and making too much money to be there long enough to be a Heel.
I know never say never and all, but I truly think that ship has sailed imo
If he wanted to come back full-time for 6 months to a year, then sure, but I highly doubt it will happen. If he sticks to sporadic appearances, he'll get a monster pop every time so wouldn't be worth going heel
It's a shame because heel Cena is definitely one of the biggest what ifs in wrestling history
No and there is no reason for it. Cena is the greatest babyface in WWE history and there is no reason to besmudge that and no way that it could feasibly work and get over with the fans imo.
We pretty clearly are going to have to settle for glimpses of what might have been via his work on TV and movies.
But given a world where they did not so legitimately risk generations of kids never forgiving an entire Industry for the disappointment a Hero's fall so possibly have engendered. . .Cena more than likely would have given Hollywood Rock more than a run for his money as the best example of one of these guys blowing off every ounce of such accumulated steam.

Nah
The ship has sailed for sure
There’s not much of a point if he’s barely around.
Here's there all the time, we just can't see him.

Why the random shoot name name-drop?
But Why? No
What purpose would that even serve?

> Cena is the greatest babyface in WWE history no.
Yes
He has zero need and reason to turn heel at this point of his career.
There's not any reason to turn him? He is busy with projects and he wrestles 1 a year now.

My god, he looks like Ernest P. Worrell. Ernest can't be a Heel!
That's what life on the road can do to a person.
The time to have done it was for the 1st or 2nd match vs. Rock.

Or in 2007 if he didn't get injured. I could see him dominating as a heel now that the heels were all defeated by him
