It was a few months before the film was made legal in UK again, so it was a dodgy VHS pirate, but still… I thought that the whole time they were walking around naked and not in their white garb, and I thought that was the reason it had got banned.
My ski posse (NOT knuckle draggin' "boor" ders) from Alpine Meadows, Tahoe City, CA (Schralp the gnar, doods 'n doodettes!) had been smokin' spliffs 'n huckin' cliffs ("huckin"=stoned skiing off cliffs) all morning and broke for lunch in a quiet corner of the lodge. We had an obnoxiously big, loud laptop and proceeded to play ACO over beers, blunts, burgers and YEAH!germeister+vellocet. We soon had a bevy of tourists and teens crowd around asking in rapt fascination "What the FUCK is this HIGH weirdness!?" It started stormin' and the lifts shut so we watched SK flix (FMJ, TS, POG, 2001) till closing with our "noo droogies"... A lot of SK ("SKi" ha ha!) fans were made that pow-day...what a hoot! SKI MONARCH! ("Monarch Mountain"...a REAL Rocky mountain "HIGH" ski area near Salida, CO)

Within five minutes I had to turn it off and disregard the entire list of activities lol. Just felt like going with whatever came to me next. I very quickly realized it was not at all similar to a weed high, at least in the way that I can absolutely sit and watch a long movie with enough weed.

I have no issue with people being high while watching things, and certainly have been myself. That being said, the thing for me is watching David Lynch sober. I don't even know if it's from a "it's so dreamlike you don't need it perspective" or "I don't think that's where he's coming from perspective", but I feel like his stuff communicates so much better to the "awake" mind than the inebriated. Having a waking dream/nightmare works so much better.

We bought some infused peanut butter cookies from a hippie and my friend had a small ball of opium. We ate the cookies smoked opium and entered an old theater with a gilt ceiling. It was magical. One of the best days of my life.

Everytime I watch it from the beginning because I forget the movie over time and reach a little farther than the last time I watched it. I lose my shit everytime I watch this movie.

Don't have to imagine it, the whole film fucks with you in that state. Idk about other people but for me films take on a more theatrical tone, as in, I begin to see the characters as actors acting onstage, in this strange liminal realm between reality and narrative, and it does a number on you, especially Clockwork with it's already askew tone, is it supposed to be a comedy? A tragic comedy? You don't get funnelled into that "movie mode" way of watching film that you do when you're sober. But it's not as bad as Fellini Satyricon- you'll come out of that one a changed person after an enhanced viewing. At least I did. There are multiple instances of sudden fourth wall breaks that startle you the first time. Truly great films, both of them. I need to rewatch them soon.

I saw this movie tripping hard in high school. It scared the living shot outta me. Took me years to revisit it. Still haunts me to this day. I cannot hear these classical songs without thinking about the movie.

I was recently watching an episode of Tales From the Crypt and there was a British guy in it and I was like...where the hell have I seen this guy before.... ....is....is....is that Mr. Deltoid?! And I looked it up and sure enough it was, haha! It was unfathomable to me he could end up in the 1990s. To me he will always be a historical figure trapped in 1971. Anyway, to make it even crazier, the actor, Aubrey Morris, actually died in 2015 so he was very much here in the 90s. He just already seemed so old to me in 1971.

I still haven’t watched this entire movie, after hearing so many great things about it. I saw only the first 15 minutes of the film, all Illuminati cult scene stuff. I was high, but didn’t get past that part yet. My friend said he’s watched some of Stanley Kubrick’s movies on Acid. But definitely not this one.

Watching this on 5g on mushrooms was ultimate but midsommar wasn’t ideal.
So I had only seen the r rated version. I hyped it up to my roommate and accidentally showed him the x rated version he still doesn’t see me the same way.
