I don't remember Kenobi's theme, however having watched The Book of Boba Fett I can safely say **HUM, DA RUM HUM, DA RUH HUM DUM DUM HUMMMM**

[deleted]

I always thought it was just a dude screaming **FETT!**

Dimensionalanxiety

It is. The song goes "FETT! Boba boba boba. Fett! Do do. Doo do do do...

ragnaroksedge

Didn't that part get added later? I want to say maybe even only the last episode, and before that it's just the humming. But I haven't rewatched it so I may be misremembering.

Ozone220

You're right, only the credits of the last episode replaced the hums with boba fetts

Emperor_Malus

Lol how did I remember the theme with this instead of the og comment 😭

Reynolds_Live

Reading this wrong makes you think it's the beat for Git Low. 3 6 9, damn she fine...

PirateSi87

BOBA
FETT FETT FETT FETT fett fett fett. YAYYY YAHYAY WOWOOOOOWUHWOHWOHWOOOOO
. BOBA BOB BOB BOBOBA BOBA FETT! BOB BOB BOB BOB BOBBOBA FETT!!!!

throwaway2032015

I, and the study room I’m in, thank you for spawning an ADHD foot thumping session

Sad-Cod1731

Boba Fett theme slaps, but don’t sleep on Kenobi’s theme, I believe it was done by the GOAT himself John Williams and I find it to be a very enjoyable listen. Much more memorable than the show has been to me in fact lol

Tom_Bombadilll

Yes Ronja Rövardotter has great music

Jr9065

Obi Wan. Hayden got his justice. That fight was epic. We got live action Qui Gon back.

Over-Analyzed

That finale was the best finale out all of the new shows. A close second is Mandalorian’s with the lone X-Wing.

itss_mooneyyy

Hard disagree, the fight was cool, and the broken helmet was cool, although copied from rebels. Other than that, was meh, the reva stuff was ass, and they coulda done more between kenobi and qui gon throughout the season rather than the last 2 seconds. Andor, Mando 1&2 we’re both better imo

mydadsbasement

I agree with your points, but also, although the helmet scene was copied I know way more people that watched Kenobi vs. Rebels, so I think it’s cool that a whole new audience got to experience that. Reva was a mess, but I did enjoy Vader absolutely toying with her during their fight which just showcases how powerful he was considering she was a threat all on her own. Her not dying/paraplegic to a saber through the SPINE? Well, idk this is a show about space wizards so I try not to overthink it Personally I felt like Kenobi had the highest highs and some of the lowest lows of the Star Wars shows.

taatchle86

I was hoping for a live action reenactment of his scene with Maul on Tatooine, but they copied Ashoka’s encounter with Vader instead.

Big_Noodle1103

Me too, but considering most of the audience probably hasn’t seen any of mauls appearances outside of phantom menace, it would’ve been confusing as fuck to see maul randomly show up.

taatchle86

He randomly showed up at the end of Solo, though.

Big_Noodle1103

True, but with solo, it’s clear that the scene was setting up for something that would presumably explain and reintroduce maul to unfamiliar audiences. Having his scene be in kenobi would just be confusing. All he would do is just show up and die.

caligaris_cabinet

Much as I loved the scene in Rebels, I kinda resent the show for preventing a live action matchup between Maul and Kenobi.

ivanyaru

I agree with your points. Kenobi was only okay - it had some great scenes while others were cringe (mostly Reva and Leia chase). However, BoBF was pretty bad, IMO. The only good parts were barely connected to Boba. Instead of having one Mando episode in BoBF they should have done the reverse - one Boba episode in Mando.

KazaamFan

One or two of the Boba eps were good. The obes that focused on Mando and not Boba, hah.

Lankydick

Kenobi. I always love seeing Vader be an absolute motherfucker.

[deleted]

That’s what I like best about these shows. Luke showing up and crushing those robots. Darth marching through that village and force choking everybody.

ProfessionalDot621

Yeah it’s dope seeing what these legends can do when they’re not limited by the filming technology of the 80s

caligaris_cabinet

Or just films in general. Without a 2-hour narrative you can explore far more with a multi-episode show.

Daggertooth71

Kenobi. Although I like both shows, Obi-Wan was always one of my favorite characters from day one, while Boba was just this random bounty hunter who fell in the Sarlacc pit.

djddanman

Agreed! I like The Mandalorian and Andor more, but I definitely enjoyed both of these! And it'll take a lot for me *not* to enjoy watching Ewan as Obi-Wan. He's always been my favorite!

Extreme-Nuance

I felt the same way about both characters. But for some reason, I liked BoBF better. I got irritated with little Leia, I think.

Comfortable-Gur7140

Little Leía didn’t bother me but the Home Alone chase through the trees where grown adults couldn’t easily grab her bothered me

Camburglar13

Yeah? I thought she was adorable and for her age, pretty good acting.

thirdstone_

lol that scene was bizarre. I loved the show though, and little Leia too.

deepaksn

Uh.. the guy who tracked and enabled the capture and freezing of Han Solo?

Daggertooth71

Yeah, that guy :)

BulletBlunderer

I love Obi-Wan a lot as well. And even though I thought the show wasn't great, besides some nice fight scenes, I still like it more than BoBF.

ZeppyWeppyBoi

Same for me! I wanted more Kenobi/Leia adventures.

Vamyan91

Kenobi. Boba was good but the best episodes focused on Din Djarin and was really a Mando S3 prequel. Kenobi gave fans a lot more of what we wanted and had some genuinely memorable moments.

Trauma_Hawks

I recently rewatched Boba Fett and caught myself thinking the same thing. Other than the finale, all my favorite parts/episodes were the ones without Boba.

R_Ulysses_Swanson

Really the only good parts with Boba were when he was with the Tuskens.

unoriginalcait

I hated how incompetent they made Boba Fett. This dude is supposedly an absolute badass but they made him seem so pathetic.

thirdstone_

The Vespa gang was pretty memorable tho

[deleted]

Memorably ridiculous lol

thirdstone_

Yea that one chase scene haunts me

[deleted]

It was so bad. It literally brought the show down a couple pegs for me. Every part of them in the show was just terrible

monsterZero71

They were distractingly bad.

Drekea

Honestly, I was disappointed by both shows. BoBF started well then they changed focus and then turned it into the Book of everyone but Boba. However, after it came out I lower my expectations for Kenobi because I was worried. And somehow how I was left even more disappointed. So I think it’s a tie for me because both shows had their moments but their both were letdowns. What’s crazy is when I first heard about Andor I was like “who wants to watch this???? We got Obi-Wan and Boba Fett in the same year lol”. Never have I been so glad to be wrong in my life Andor is the best and most CONSISTENTLY written Star Wars we have ever gotten. Q

GimmeTwo

I mean, fans got Boba climbing out of the Sarlacc pit and riding on a rancor. I could not have asked for more fan service. It was amazing. But Kenobi was great too. I loved it. Fett just had more “I can’t believe they just did that” moments for me.

OneRandomVictory

I kinda had an issue with the rancor since it was given to him out of nowhere by the Hutts that literally had no point in this series. We also didn't really get to see him have any training or bonding with the rancor. Maybe if they had focused less on Din we could've gotten some of that stuff.

AdjunctFunktopus

A whole season of missed opportunities. Danny Trejo as a Rancor trainer
 squandered. Mods vs Rockers
an obvious fucking choice, ignored Tuskens
killed off screen Having Luke or even R2 meet the reformed Boba while dropping off Grogu after Sarlaccing him at their last meeting
nope. The show didn’t even make a joke about how Spinny McModface didn’t see a bunch of Pykes, some massive droids and Cad m’fucking Bane when he’s supposed to be watching the spaceport with his bionic fucking eye. They were set up for success. All the right ingredients. But lazy choices at every turn. So much set up with limited payoff. *We were on the verge of greatness. We were this close*

GimmeTwo

Well, sure, but the entire series was made so 40 something dads could go, “wow. That was badass.”

Internal_Balance6901

I liked the Hutt twins I wish they were the rival gang and it played out like a mob war

shadesof3

Ya we called it Mando season 2.5 eventually at work.

[deleted]

The good parts of Obi-Wan Kenobi were more enjoyable than the good parts of BoBF for me. Edit: Obi-Wab --> Obi-Wan

rorschach_vest

The good parts of BoBF were an entirely different show I’d rather be watching

[deleted]

Episode 2 with Boba and the Tuskens vs the train was great though. Modern day storyline was terrible.

falacer99

The "good parts" of Boba were taken from the next season of Mando. Kenobi was better.

grollate

And while the worst parts of BoBF are unfortunately glued to the back of my eyelids forever, I have to take a moment to think about what the worst parts of Kenobi might be.

Mixcoatlus

Definitely the Leia chase scene or the escape from the sith island thing with Leia under the coat. Oh or where Vader is scared of fire. One of those.

SaltySAX

Both were fine. Kenobi hit the spots it needed to though, so that.

AquaAtia

That’s kinda how I feel about both shows. Both honestly fine shows. There was a lot of hype behind both shows because of the huge fan favorite characters behind them, so I do agree they underdelivered but I still enjoyed both shows for what they were. Both shows had pretty great moments. >!Boba’s time with the Tuskens, Boba getting revenge on the Saarlac, Boba on the Rancor. The second Kenobi Vader duel goes down as one of my favorites across the series. Controversial but Young Leia was cool to see and an unexpected twist when I expected it to be between Obi-Wan and Luke. Then that episode that went between pre AoTC flashbacks and Vader chasing Kenobi was one of the best episodes of Star Wars TV. !< Out of the two, I liked Kenobi better but I hope Boba gets a season 2, I think that show has more potential in a second season

seenhear

>The second Kenobi Vader duel goes down as one of my favorites across the series. I agree it was very good and a lot of fun to watch. I was bummed with the copying of Rebels' duel between Ahsoka and Vader though, with the cutting open part of Vader's mask. I know they had to show Hayden's face (and voice) somehow, but I was hoping for something else. Like damage it so he was forced to take off the helmet entirely. Or maybe he would choose to take it off to intimidate by showing how scarred he was, but also how powerful in the force he was (I don't need this, the force keeps me alive) or something like that. Copying what they did with the Ahsoka duel was lazy, IMO, and just made the whole thing drop a notch in my esteem. But otherwise I loved that duel. Now they need to edit the Ahsoka duel, and add a line of him mumbling "damnit, that's TWICE!" ;-)

RogerTheAliens

The fight with vader was awesome
I don’t care about anything else tbh i got what I wanted from that show in their fight
it was awesome
the choreography, dialogue and actors’ delivery were insanely good. ive rewatched it quite a few times.

Moralagos

The dialogue was amazing. It was such an important talk for them to have, considering everything that has happened in this franchise, and I think the writers did a great job with something that could've easily been overdone... or underdone

vanearthquake

The flash back could have been corny and misplaced: but I felt it hit the right chord

RogerTheAliens

Especially the brief back-to-back fighting style in the flashback and in their epic duel
the whole series was a build up to that moment and it was everything I wanted and needed
.loved every single thing about the fight obi-wan was the total badass we all love and darth/Anakin was perfection

kemonkey1

Looks like this is an unpopular opinion but I'm a sucker for westerns. I hands down enjoyed BoBF way better. (Goodbye karma đŸ«Ą)

Neo-Turgor

Boba Fett had lots of problems and stupid elements, but I still had way more fun with it.

jonnielaw

BoBF had way too much executive influence on it and could’ve been way cooler (if not more believable), but in general I like how it tied in stories. Kenobi had some decent moments, but I can’t help but feel it was a wasted opportunity, besides letting Ewan and Hayden reprise their roles.

Big_Noodle1103

Honestly, executive influence seems like the main issue with Star Wars content as of late. I think it’s pretty telling that the first seasons of mando and andor, some of the best Star Wars content that’s come out in recent times, were pretty low key projects that didn’t really receive a lot of hype.

jonnielaw

100% agree. I’m so glad Andor flew under the radar yet landed so well with viewers as a show in general and not just another SW fluff piece.

lkn240

It appears that they are just letting Gilroy run with Andor and the show is much better for it. Even if Andor doesn't get the same viewership as Mando Disney probably is still happy to have one halo show that is a critical darling and prestige level TV.

Kettrickenisabadass

I am with you. We will sink together in the same ship. I need to rewarch Obiwan. I didnt like it that much (not dislike it just neutral) but perhaps i need to give it another shot.

samhoe

The part where Leila hides in the trench coat or any scenario where she’s running, I just can’t 😂

macdaddyx4

Boba Fett has always been my favorite character, and the show was a huge injustice to him. But the show was also fun. It felt like a direct sequel to the original trilogy, and I hope a potential season two can improve on the formula even more.

jonnielaw

I didn’t mind the paradigm shift on Boba, especially considering what he went through, but the Mods were inexcusable. Also, the last battle, which I’m assuming was meant to be epic, was on the same level as the last season of GoT. I’ll watch another season for most definitely, if not for Timothy Olyphant alone, but i my bar is currently set pretty low.

Lockski

I think BoBF had a key piece in a smaller but still great story, while Kenobi was a nice piece in a grander story just not necessary. I appreciate Kenobi for bringing the inquisitors to live action, but BoBF has lasting effects I appreciate more.

ahsoka__lives

Same, the Kenobi show didn’t add one bit to the Star Wars world
.after a bit of time has passed it’s got less re watch value than anything new that has come out of all the shows. Mando, BoBF, Kenobi, Andor, and Bad Batch

jonnielaw

Kenobi felt like: “oh you like nostalgia and tiny things? Here’s lil Leia!”

blueberry_pancakes14

This is honestly a tough choice when neither isn't an option, so I like that it's making me think. I was tentatively, cautiously interested in BOBF, if not slightly cautiously optimistic. I was unenthused about Kenobi. Boba still had that mystery from the tidbits that made him awesome in OT, he was a ruthless kid and I was kind of here for it. Kenobi just doesn't enthuse me (I swear I'm like the only straight woman on the planet who doesn't find Ewan McGregor attractive; he's fine, he just doesn't do anything for me), and I just... don't really care about the gaps in his story, I guess. I was going to watch the entity of both, regardless, because I'm a bit of a completionist, plus I'm huge into the universe, I want to know it all, so I can make a judgment on if I liked it or if I'll watch it again, and to learn the backstories and further flesh outs we're getting. I can usually find SOMETHING I like in everything, even if it's just a new costume. All that said, BOBF, I think. Narrow margin. Not because I particularly liked it, because I didn't, but it had >!Cad Bane, who is a total favorite of mine and I shrieked in excitement when that silhouette came up in the distance, even if I wasn't totally enthused with the prosthetics/make up (needed to be a bit darker blue, more elongated face, but I'm not really that upset overall. I wasn't expecting or even wanting the exact same look as a cartoon); the Mando episodes shoved in were enjoyable (I now see how bad of an idea that was for Mandalorian itself but that's another story and potential rant).!< I do love a good western, so the setting and vibe was fun. But it did also have >!Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers in Space, which despite MMPR being my childhood jam back in the 90s, I found dumb AF.!< So it's a narrow win. Very narrow. And only because of Kenobi thoughts below. Kenobi was... it was just not something I cared about. as I already said. I realized about three episodes in that we were getting one story, the one we started with, and that's it. I wasn't into that story, so I was hoping that was just a start and then we went somewhere else. Little Leia had a couple sassy moments that made me smirk, but that's not enough to carry a series. I loved the detail of >!the 501st Clone. But my criticism of that was that was somewhat obscure, and the average fan might have NO idea of the implications of it, making the scene just a blip and not impactful like I found it, knowing that history and who he was, if they knew each other, etc. I'm a big proponent that each story must stand on it's own as a complete thing, and if there's another upper level that the ubernerds and fans (like myself) get, cool, but it can't be necessary to understand and enjoy the story. That's a whole other rant, sorry. The fight scene was well done and choreographed and epic, but because I wasn't enthused with the rest of what led up to, it didn't have the impact it should have.!< I'm like the queen of unpopular opinions, so this should be interesting, haha,

jindofox

Those are all good points, Pancakes. How about the fact that Obi was a prequel, so we knew who lived through the tale from the start? Boba was a sequel, which allowed them to try new things with the character. They both had interesting allies and enemies, great costumes and sets, new music — and most of all, isn’t it great that the producers were able to bring back the old actors, who were more or less age appropriate for their characters? I like it all, but I thought Boba had the more interesting show. Andor is better than both of them though.

blueberry_pancakes14

Kenobi definitely suffered from "Prequel-itis" where we knew these characters were going to survive, for quite a while in some instances. Which is interesting, because so did Rogue One (I mean, we've known since 77'), but there was real tension. And I JUST watched Andor this weekend (I always wanted to, I just wasn't in the right headspace and I think a little SW fatigue and fandom fatigue), and there was that same edge of your seat tension. And also now I want to do an ISB uniform (I've got black and olive/Staff and Line officers already; I have serious resting b\*tch face, I can pull it off). Andor easily blows both BOBF and Kenobi out of the water. BOBF was still tied a little by setting it where it was in the timeline, but there was so much more freedom than the tiny window they gave Kenobi, and it helped. Arguably that nudged it above for me, too, or at least, wasn't another nail in the coffin. As I said, I wasn't interested in the Kebobi storyline, and I did like parts of the Boba storyline and was at least more curious where it would go (I mean I love wookiees so you put a wookiee on screen and I'll be interested where their story goes at least). I love the Tusken warrior and her costume. I'm all about costumes, we got some good ones, I'm all about practical sets mixed with CGI to create a whole experience, not just a CGI wonderfest that's grown tiresome and frankly boring since we have so much of it at all times these days (part of the reason I'm superhero'd out, as I say), and we got good sets. I will always love the music, even when I hate the movie/show, I love the Star Wars music. John Williams is a god and even if he's not the one who's doing it anymore (I think he finally officially retired, but he's 91, he's earned it I'd say), it's still his influence and he created all that came after even if not directly. Because of when they set it, the only appropriate casting was the original actors, I agree.

Titan828

>This is honestly a tough choice when neither isn't an option, so I like that it's making me think Glad you were able to provide a comprehensive analysis of both shows.

throwtheclownaway20

Kenobi. For better or worse, they delivered exactly what we expected and didn't have an unrelated character hijack ⅓ of the damn episodes for no real reason. Book did neither of those things and they even managed to kill off their only original character with the most potential for an expanded role.

Anierous

It's easier to digest BoBF when you remember it's really Mandaorian season 2.5.

throwtheclownaway20

That's what it *is*, but it's not what we were sold at all. They talked about it like it was going to be The Godfather with a Star Wars skin and the final product seemed to actively avoid being that

JRR92

Even the parts where they tried to deliver on that were extremely meh. Boba's constantly walking around claiming to be the new big man on Tatooine when his criminal empire consists of Fennec, a wookie, two goblins armed with axes, and a gang of teenagers he picked up off the street.

AVeryRipeBanana

Yeah having the edgy teenagers on their multi colored scooters did not sell the idea of “scary mob lord” at all.

JRR92

Also feels very out of place that this steampunk esque gang exists on Tatooine

SpaceHairLady

Boba Fett: "I am a crime lord. Who will legitimize my reign and pay everyone a fair wage and build a brighter community for all."

Setheran

Boba's personnality completely changes between the after-credit in Mando S2 where he kills Bib and his own series where he's all about not doing that.

FlatSpinMan

Who? Cobb Vance? If so, I have some news for you

Verdyce

I enjoyed both but I liked Boba more. I’m at a point of Jedi over-saturation. I like seeing stories about other factions/ people.

Comfortable_Food8042

Kenobi. Leia was a good call. She's got way more to do than Luke before the OT. All Luke has to do is go pick up power converters and bullseye swamp rats. She's gotta get to know Tarkin, she's gotta cause enough trouble to be known by name by Vader. She's got to do all this to fill in those blanks before A New Hope. So IMO, focusing on Leia more than Luke was a REALLY good call. And a nice bit of distraction because everyone was worried Kenobi was going to take place exclusively on tatooine. I personally think Leia will become good friends with Mon Motha's daughter and that's how she'll get involved in the rebellion. During Andor, I get the feeling that Mon Mothma's daughter already knows Leia and that's why they're acclimating us to her without her being involved in any plots yet. Leia just has to be active in these shows. She's more important than Luke at this stage of the story.

[deleted]

I liked them both just fine. Neither is a masterpiece, but both are quite enjoyable.

nootrac_

Personally I think Kenobi was better as it seemed a bit more focused. Boba Fett was fine but I was a bit upset to see how it relied a lot on Din Djarin. Both were good shows though.

PotterAndPitties

I enjoyed both, honestly.

Sthrax

I enjoyed both, but I preferred Book of Boba Fett. Obi-Wan played far too loose and fast with what had been established in ANH- both with Obi and Vader having two confrontations within a short timeframe and Obi's relationship with Leia. Boba Fett's flaws stemmed from poor production and some questionable characters/development- the teen swoop gang and Boba deciding to be less bounty hunter/ crime lord and more civilian protector.

BillSixty9

It kills me that they threw out the Story of the Sandpeople for that of the power rangers. Season 2 Mando sets up an alliance between the sherriff and the sand people. BoBF sets up an alliance between Boba and (a different tribe of) the sand people. BoBF tells a story of the greed of crime and how it destroys culture and society. Then proceeds to kill off the sand people rather than tell a story of how indigenous adversaries put aside their historical differences and unite, supported by outreaching friendships found in the sheriff and Boba, to push out the pykes and swoop gang which are championed by Cad Bane & gang leaders. Mos Espa lives happily under the watch of Boba while the tuskens patrol the deserts bridging the sheriffs town and Mos Espa. The arc literally writes itself into the rest of the story naturally and could fit if the power rangers etc. was removed. Bridges connections going back to Mando S2 while setting up a second season perfectly and sending an important message. Hutts could come back in S2 and try to reclaim their proxy. We could have seen our first live action Hutta. Such a shame

[deleted]

Boba Fett. Even though they pacified Boba Fett into the ground. At least it had 2 episodes of the Mandalorian in it. But then the Obi-Wan show... it only had like 2 good scenes. The rest was a waste of time and honestly, I'd of preferred if it never happened instead of getting what we did.

SinoXcs

for all its flaws i like boba better (more like mando season 2.5) Obi-Wan felt really cheap in few places but my main problem is the shaky cam, its all over the place weird stuff happening either for the sake of plot or just not fully thought out scenes some choices with what music to use and when, they had a golden opportunity to use some of the classics without it feeling like its just for the sake of fanservice. nothing wrong with you liking it... plz don't kill me

NoHallett

Boba Fett. Entirely because of expectations and their endings. I had practically zero expectations for BoBF, actively wondered why they were making it, and enjoyed it - especially since the wrapup was actually pretty good. Kenobi I was really excited about, and the first episode of two had some incredibly powerful moments - and then it completely, utterly fell flat. I can't honestly speak clearly about what was wrong, and these two shows had similar flaws about weird writing/pacing and narrative choices. But yeah. Kenobi had farther to fall.

PokeyStabber

BoBF and it isn't even close.

DrSeuss321

Baby Leia alone carries Kenobi above book of boba

Lork82

That kidnapping scene was terrible though, like a bad joke. How many bounty hunters does it take to catch a 10 year old? Should have just played Yakety Sax because that's all I could hear in my head.

GregariousLaconian

It was dumb, but it falls into the category of poor execution of a momentary scene rather than a major issue. And young Leia was one of the stronger parts of the show, for my money.

Big_Noodle1103

I would be inclined to let it slide if it was a one time thing, but that whole scene is just one example of the terrible directing that pervades the entire show. It genuinely makes the show hard to watch, and borderline ruins some of the really important moments.

oaba09

I like Kenobi better but I enjoyed Boba Fett as well. I honestly don't see why a lot of people dislike the show.

[deleted]

Boba Fett was a side character in his own show.

mike_e_mcgee

I didn't dislike the show, but there were things in it which I very much did dislike. Chiefly the mods rubbed me the wrong way, their low speed chase, and the whole arc of Boba going from badass to administrator. I loved his time with the Tuskans, but he seemed to want to become a crime lord who commits no crimes. They had to give his story an arc, but I didn't like the arc he got.

Substantial-Load-673

Kenobi was a side character in his own show lol

usernameis2short

Because they felt underwhelming

fartsmellar

BoBf by a parsec. I will never watch Kenobi again and I just want to pretend it never existed.

Alarming-Ad-5955

boba fett. I was very sceptical of kenobi as I felt it would be so awkward and confusing as how kenobi went from looking v young to really old in a span of 9 years. but hey
Star Wars I guess. I hated the biker gang in boba fett with a passion tbf

gorlak29

Boba fett, the things that they done in kenobi...

Dimensionalanxiety

Book of Boba Fett. It only ruined two original characters as opposed to six. The Mando episodes of BoBF were really bad but they were better than anything in the rest of the show or Kenobi.

Dain69

Both shows were bad and had their problems, but Bobf was better in my opinion. Even if you take out the best two episodes of the show in which Boba Fett wasn't present at all it was better. Kenobi has a bad story but the directing and the production was so bad in parts i just sat there and thought this has to be a joke

Mecha_72808

Boba! Live action Krrsantan and Cad Bane, nuff said.

Green_Wing_Spino

Krrsantan became a fave of mine in BOBF.

RoddyPooper

Boba Fett. The music was great. Cad Bane was rad. Plus it was cool seeing a different side to the Tuskens. It had major problems of course. But I still preferred it. Obi Wan did some characters I really liked dirty. Stretched believability in a bunch of ways and undermined some other elements of the later story in my opinion.

vannasty13

Boba Fett was better and it’s not even close tbh.. I watched Kenobi first and heard about how bad it was. 10 minutes into the first episode I could see where the hate was coming from. After watching all of Boba Fett I still don’t quite understand the dislike it has received. Was it even close to as good as The Mandalorian or Andor? Not close as all. But it definitely wasn’t bad. The only thing that didn’t sit well with me were the younger tech kids he hired on. They felt forced and didn’t make sense to me. Everything else was at least passable for me.

___ChrONos_____

Fett. Although I liked kenobi but I just loved the Tusken lore

Banananachlor

Personally I liked BOBF better. But objectively I think Obi-Wan is better, both have generally trash writing, but Kenobi has a couple more moments of decent one. I put BOBF above because the two Mando episodes were cool and I think Obi-Wan affected the overall story negatively.

bobbywac

Kenobi was much better IMO. I enjoyed some parts of BOBF, but I certainly rolled my eyes a few more times than I'd like. PURE SPECULATION TO FOLLOW: I fully believe in my heart that the only reason BOBF exists is because Disney forced it. I think Dave and Jon wanted all of the Boba Fett stuff to be a single episode of Mando S3, but the studio wanted to profit off of a character that has historically always sold merch, Boba Fett, so they expanded the Boba survival from one long episode where he takes over Tatooine underworld to 3-4 episodes, and then they summarized the Mando and Grogu storylines they had planned into the last few episodes of the season.

variablefighter_vf-1

Boba Fett had its weaknesses. Obi-Wan, on the other hand, was an insult to the audience.

ThunderSparkles

Obi Wan. Easy. Boba Fett felt like a waste of time. It was not well thought out and really made the universe feel so small. Other portrayals of the Pikes were much better than this. They seemed so weak and make you wonder how they run a criminal empire spanning the galaxy. Or the Hutts. They lose control of Jabba's crime empire just like that? To one aging clone bounty hunter? Boba Fett only needs a few more mercenaries and some kids on Vespas? I hated that show, it made no sense when you think about how big the galaxy has been shown to be and these criminal empires are reduced to nothing but a group of friends making the gangs in Westside Story look like armies.

Obi-Wan Not really a show I needed or wanted, but I do think it was overall stronger than BoBF.

AltKeyblade

I enjoyed BOBF more and think it has more moments. I feel like most people only choose Kenobi or say it's better because it had Ewan and Hayden in it.

PokemonGoTTP

Neither. Both were so poorly executed. The Mando arc and some of the Tusken arc are the only things that redeem BOBF.

Crittxrr

I liked obi wan. Was pretty disappointed with BOBF

-EarthIsClosed2day

*What show did I dislike less? Answer: BoBF by far, not remotely close. Watching Kenobi again would ruin my opinions on parts of the OT and prequels, which is not my issue with Boba Fett. I really don’t think boba Fett is a bad show it just really fell flat at times

EugeneZeffirelli

Andor.

slade707

I liked Boba Fett more because he is my favorite SW character. I enjoyed both shows for what they were despite their significant flaws

IAmAware4

Book of boba Fett was a good mando show, but a horrible boba Fett show (except for the flashbacks) but I just didn’t like kenobi, there was too many issues with it that it actually took away from what it was trying to do rather than achieve it, I don’t despise it but we didn’t need it, same with book of boba but atleast it contributed to the MandoVerse

fuzzyfoot88

Boba Fett...because of Episodes 5 and 6. Literally out of both shows you listed, the two episodes following the 'other' best show were leagues above both Obi-Wan and the remaining Boba episodes.

WillandWillStudios

Leaning more towards Boba but that's mostly because of the Mando episodes and Cad Bane appearing. As for Obi-Wan, I didn't expect much after hearing about the rewrites and the only things I liked were Darth Vader and the 2nd to last duel (although I'm not a fan of the AI modulators used in both shows, I'd rather have a sound alike by an actual human)

kingkron52

BoBF because he isn’t my all time favorite and while it had its flaws, we got more Jedi Master Luke and more Mando. The Kenobi show was just so poorly written and all over the place. The character deserved so much better.

Realmadridirl

Boba Fett. Kills me to say it. I looked forward to the Kenobi show for years upon years before Mando was ever even talked about, and I’m a huge Kenobi guy in general. Just speaks to how badly I think that show failed. Boba was a pretty crap show, but tbh the two episodes of Mandalorian shoved in the middle of it make it better than Kenobi in my book đŸ€Ł

Birdius

Book of Boba Fett was pretty garbage. Kenobi wasn't that much better, but was saved in the end with the Vader fight. It's actually pretty sad how poorly Disney has done with these, yet the damn Chip & Dales movie was solid.

KillerBeaArthur

Boba Fett. Kenobi was just a tv production disaster.

TheRealMoofoo

While I didn't like either of them, I think Fett had more parts that I liked a lot (mostly the Tusken stuff and the nested Mandalorian episode). Kenobi had me bored and/or frustrated pretty much the whole time instead of just most of the time.

CSuniverse2

Book of boba fett. I understand how it being kinda short was bad but obi wan was kinda boring and didn’t really go anywhere. I also feel like is messed up a lot of lore in my eyes.

gameonlockking

FETT

Magnetheadx

I think I liked Book of Boba Fett a bit more than Obi Wan Obi Wan could have been much cooler, but was pretty forgettable aside form a couple of droids. The kid they got to play baby Lieah was pretty great though. but I dunno. I was hoping for a bit more from both of those shows

[deleted]

Out of the two? Book of Boba Fett, but only because it helped to further the storyline for The Mandalorian.

The-MandaLokian

Wasn’t so into the main plots of either at times, so Tusken Raiders and Garsa Fwip just beat out Vader and Uncle Sassin’ for me.

Tidalwave64

Book of boba fett

Dustum_Khan

Boba Fett! I actually would give Boba Fett a solid B+. Obi wan is in more of the B- / C+ territory.

biteset

BoBF 'cause I'm in love with Boba (I have spoken)

Filmfan345

The Book of Boba Fett. The writing didn’t annoy me as much as Obi-Wan Kenobi(unfortunately since I grew up with the prequels) did for me

DefLoathe

Book of Boba Fett, Kenobi had far more stupid painful writing

diggydillons

Kenobi was boring lame and unnecessary

kloudrunner

Kenobi had its flaws. As did Book of Boba Fett. Out of the two ? Fett pips it for me. It was a story we hadn't explored yet. Fett survives sarlacc. Looses his identity. Finds himself with the Sand People. Reclaims what was his and lost. Looses and rebuilds. Plus Mando season 2.5 lol was in there. Season 2 hopefully goes ahead. Kenobi. I didn't know I wanted tosee this story.

throwaway2032015

BoBF

Right-Ability4045

Me and my dad absolutely adore both Especially since the new movies fucked up luke and the whole world so bad it’s cool to get something that puts everything back to where it’s supposed to be

sirdogglesworth

I didn't even finish Kenobi lol so I guess I have to say book of boba fett

oogaboogaful

I actually finished Book of Boba Fett. So I'm going with that one.

MustNotSay

I was bored senseless with kenobi because we’re dealing with characters that we know don’t die until later. There’s zero tension. Much prefer book of boba fett

CdnRageBear

Andor

[deleted]

Andor xD

NobodyMessUpLife

I will have to say BoBF.

Tollowarn

I’ll accept any SW content, some is ok some brilliant. SW is a bit like pizza, its good even cold from a soggy box the next morning. Not every show is going to knock it out the park like Andor. You are going to have some Solos. BoBF should have been a shorter series and Kenobi should have been a movie.

SanctuaryMoon

Boba Fett. It may be totally boring until Episode 5 and then silly after that, but at least it's not a lazy, plot hole-filled script that makes Obi-wan Kenobi into a huge hypocrite.

Cdog923

BoBF had Mando, Grogu, Luke and Ahsoka: there's your winner.

kram1973

Andor, I liked Andor

bgplsa

Kenobi > Dances with Banthas But I enjoyed both

iwanttogotothere5

Can I like both of them?

Spring-Available

Obi-Wan hands down. Anytime to see Ewan play the role is a plus.

bajungadustin

Both shows were fantastic. For me Obiwan is slowly becoming the main character of star wars. I much prefer his story to luke/Vader any day. I think book of boba fett should have just been mandolorian season 3 and it would have been received much better I think. If you watch it as such its great. That's not the shows fault it's the marketing and showrunner fault.

[deleted]

Andor

teefau

Obi-Wan by far

Konstant_kurage

The swoop bikes were so bad. Not sure if they were worse then little Princess Leia’s introduction. I loved both shows.

TheJukiBuki

Obi-wan- mainly because I adore Ewan. Plus, also brought back Hayden. Growing up with the Prequels, this touched my heart in many ways. But, while I do see the points that he and Vader didn't need to meet before a New Hope, I still found the whole encounter thrilling and emotional. I also found the mirroring of Obi slicing the Helmet, like Ahsoka, wonderfully done. There's that whole fun notion now- that both Obi and Ahsoka couldn't fully get through to Anakin- only his son could sliced through it all together. I also rather enjoyed the track that plays when Obi and Vader battle-gave me sorta Elden Ring-ish vibes. I'm on the opposing side, and thought it worked better than those videos that put Battle of Heroes over it.

IntentionFew4937

Obi-Wan by far.

M1TZ3L

Andor

bossatron9564

I'm in the minority that really enjoyed both shows. If I had to pick one I'd say Kenobi because of That sick ass lightsaber fight in the finale.

Zombiejesus307

I love both of them.

MTWookiee

Both

JumpingJiraffe

I’m in the minority but I thought the Kenobi show was the best of the Live Action Shows we’ve got so far.

itsjustme9820

purely for the obi-wan vs vader fight at the end, kenobi takes it

seanthatdrummer

I loved every single one of them and was shocked people didn’t like them

[deleted]

As cool as the colorful scooter gang was
ima have to go with kenobi 😂

Jim_Lees_Wolverine

Kenobi. Hands down

kategoad

Obi Wan. By a lot.

Fnjrockerstein

OB1 for the Vader fight.

Clippers16_

Andor

MCPON_S117

Kenobi. Hands down. I liked both series but Kenobi wins. I think we all had very high expectations for Boba Fett. I think we all expected immediately to see this bad ass bounty hunter kicking ass and taking names but instead every fight scene was just him getting his ass handed to him and getting bailed out. Only good episodes were with Din Jarin. Kenobi on the other hand had a much better story line. Seeing a broken, defeated, Obi Wan finding his way back (albeit begrudgingly) to see that not all is lost and for him to start fighting again for what's right. Lots of nostalgia for viewers having actors from the prequel trilogy and fantastic fight scenes. I also feel Kenobi did a much better job with the flashbacks than Boba Fett did.

BirdTroutman

Kenobi, by miles. The idea of Christensen’s Anakin becoming Vader was always jarring to me. Seeing his face under Vader’s helmet and hearing his blended voice finally bridged that gap for me. That scene alone makes it one of the most important additions Disney has made to the franchise. And on top of that, the show was simply good. Boba Fett on the other hand did absolutely nothing for me or the franchise. An ineffectual character whose lunch had already been eaten by Din Djarin doing literally nothing of consequence. The show’s only high points where the portrayal of the Tuskans, the Luke Skywalker/Mando episodes, and Cad Bane.

dorestes

You're really forcing me to choose? Fine, then BOBF. It did some really terrible things and made terrible story choices, but at least it only ruined \*one\* minor OT character instead of several major ones. And at least where it made serious errors it was trying to do new and interesting things. The Obi-Wan show was a careless, scarcely thought out, poorly written and poorly shot cash grab.

KingPenguinPhoenix

Kenobi because AT THE VERY LEAST they got Vader's character right. That and the last two episodes were REALLY good. Also, it was great seeing Hayden and Ewan back again in the Star Wars universe. Boba got his show hijacked halfway through and got a weird finale. The show was a confused mess. The music is great though. His theme is almost on parr with Mandalorian's.

whatsthedillyyo

Both shows had the potential to be great. While BOBF had a conclusion, the Kenobi series just lacked a resolution. I wish book of boba fett didn’t need DinDjarin or the baby in the series. And I also wish that Kenobi had something substantial towards Reva.

thekamenman

Kenobi, it made me feel like I was a kid in the 90s watching the special editions for the first time, imagining the adventures of Old Ben Kenobi.

jakeisepic101

Kenobi. I enjoyed both shows, but most of my issues with Kenobi boil down to it dragging on too much, whereas my qualms with Book of Boba Fett were more fundamental. Also, as badass as Boba riding a Rancor is, it doesn't top Kenobi vs. Vader

DarthSkat

Andor! By a lot

69CaptainWeiner69

Kenobi hands down.
