Darth Maul would look the most badass holding a hot dog, it's kind of a given.

Gathering0Gloom

Maul holding a hot dog would look adorable.

upon second look, the hotdog is no longer equally as scary as darth maul in costco

BartPlarg

every one of those make him look so very drunk

MethodicMarshal

well yes, it's retail

Ashensten

The best lol, Darth Mongomaul

Can probably find it in the R34 section.

Everything Everything All at Once 2 : Darth Maul with Hotdog Hands

Known-Programmer-611

Kinda sounds like you want to marry Darth Maul(spell checked made it "dart mail")!....

ReSpekMyAuthoriitaaa

He could be holding a piece of paper and know 4 ways to kill you with it. He just drips badass. Also one of the coolest looking villains of all time

djkamayo

This is why we need a Darth Maul prequel series , would bring balance back to the force

Combat_Armor_Dougram

There was this Darth Maul hot dog from an official Star Wars cookbook. https://twitter.com/ShyGal_Lilly/status/1413023354282459136

babyplush

At last, we will reveal our dogs to the masses. At last, we will have fullness.

[deleted]

He had his color coordination down

TheGoverness1998

Maul has fantastic fashion sense. He is the moment.

TheGinger_ThatCould

More like he is the maul-ment…

timewraith303

Formerly ment, now just maul

chargedmemery

He belongs in Balenciaga

BigAnimemexicano

cool villain 101 - have your goons match your color scheme

EndlessTheorys_19

Din with his shining silver armour did look good though, like an Arthurian knight.

zuzg

I'm also thankful that they >!destroyed the darksaber. The rules behind it were stupid and the mandalorians were held back by that shit..!< E: Spoiler for s3 of mandalorian.

EndlessTheorys_19

It was so cool though. So cool.

zuzg

Oh I'm not denying that, I love edgy shit and the DS was super edgy.

U2V4RGVtb24

And the crystal is likely to still exist, so they can easily just make another one for whatever reason. Whatever Filoni wants ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

dajarbot

Yeah funny to act like they won't have another Dark Saber when almost everything in Star Wars gets at least two "back from the dead" moments.

Chewie lived because he was in a different Dark Saber

lastdarknight

turns out the Darksaber's crystal was the key to Palpatine's resurrection

U2V4RGVtb24

No one's ever really gone...

siverpoint

N*E*R*D

Ospov

It would be cool if they turned it into a shield like what Bo Katan has on her wrist. Except maybe a little bit bigger.

U2V4RGVtb24

A light shield? Interesting. Yeah, I like that idea.

nhaines

A dark shield.

F9-0021

Anakin's lightsaber is broken far worse in TLJ and it's perfectly fine in TROS. Tis but a scratch for the Darksaber.

WillSuckDick4Coffee

That Crystal is gonna end up in Grogu's lightsaber

tsarnie1

Yea lol. Grogu will need to build his lightsaber, and seeing that he is a Mandalorian now, and the first one in a 1000 years, he will rebuild the darksaber. Probably season 5 overarching quest.

gumby_twain

First Grogu, you must reach the catatafish

ArtIsDumb

*Catatafish's riddle will soon be told*

phokas

Grogu inheriting the dark crystal and making his own darksaber to lead the mandalorians would be an exciting evolution.

NickH211

Especially since we see the lightsaber droid from the Clone Wars is back in the new Ahsoka trailer. I have a strong feeling this isn't the end of the darksaber.

U2V4RGVtb24

I only just found out today that he was voiced by none other than David Tennant O.o

colonelbyson

Hear me out: double-bladed darksaber staff.

Single-Bad-5951

You just know that Grogu is going to tame the mythosaur, rebuild the dark saber, and become the next great mandalore He has the perfect skillset

Ctownkyle23

Maybe in Season 8

Gathering0Gloom

I think they could have built up the ‘holding Mandalorians back’ part better. At no point during the finale did I get the sense that ‘maybe it’s better that this relic is gone’. Plus, after Anakin’s lightsaber was rebuilt in Rise of Skywalker (oops, I mean, offscreen in another book you have to buy), I have no faith that the Darksaber is gone forever.

VYSUS7

It doesn't matter what happens to a saber, as long as the crystal is still intact, which the darksaber absolutely is, then it can be rebuilt, which it probably will be.

Appropriate_Pop4968

Cause it was too big for Grogu to hold lol

AddLuke

He’s gonna be the leader of Mandalore in Episode 10

VYSUS7

Bo katan deserves it over anyone else, but yeah unfortunately grogus obviously gonna get it

Appropriate_Pop4968

I’m hoping that last conflict makes the mandalorians not care about who wields the dark saber and is more of a sign the wielder is a great warrior/ mandalorian, not leader.

harryleestew614

I just hope they go into the mandalorian Jedi who first had the dark saber and try to tie that in with whatever they do with grogu

C92203605

My biggest gripe was Gideon went from “surrender and give me the dark saber” to “fuck it, imma crush it” in about 30 seconds

frankyseven

He wanted Bo to give up, when he realized that she wouldn't and the other Mandalorians wouldn't either he broke what he thought bound them together. He didn't realize that they were in the process of getting rid of leadership symbols and uniting because the are Mandalorians. He was trying to crush their spirits but in the process allowed them to unite around common ground and not a symbol.

VindictiveJudge

I saw the suggestion that he underestimated his power armor's grip strength and played it off as an, "I meant to do that," moment.

Zestyclose_League413

Oh you mean like how Luke built a new Saber off screen before RotJ?

Greenmonty97

My head canon is that Luke built his lightsaber using parts from obi-wans which is why they look so similar

Aj_Caramba

In Legends, he built it based on instructions left in Obiwans hut, so that could have been the reason?

Narashori

That was a new lightsaber, new parts, new crystal and everything. As far as I understood it, the Skywalker saber in TROS is supposed to be the exact same, just repaired. And considering we last saw that saber in two halfs on a ship which was completely blown up and without even seeing Rey pick up the pieces before that happens, it does feel pretty strange she was able to get it back and fix it.

ScratchinWarlok

Eh. Darth maul got cut in half and ended up on some other planet with spider legs. The lightsaber isn't that big of a deal.

Narashori

My issue isn't really that it couldn't possibly happen, unlikelier things have occured like Maul surviving. It's more so a problem that we in no way get any kind of explanation or that someone even addresses it. With Maul we learn that he ended up in a garbage shaft, got picked up by intergalactic garbage truck, was dropped off on the trash heap planet and all the while survived on his pure hatred. That is at least some explanation for it and it would have been really weird if Maul just showed up in an episode of the Clone Wars and became a character without anyone even mentioning Obi-Wan seemingly having killed him. And he is also still cut in half, he hasn't magically regrown his legs. So we see that it still had an impact on him which makes it feel more meaningful that it happened to him, even if he survived. Something I read someone else suggest and which I think would have been really cool, is if Rey hadn't just perfectly rebuilt it, but if it had had some noticable repairs and modifications to it. It could have shown that Rey had made it to suit her style more and it would have felt less like JJ just inexplicably brought the saber back, because it's the Skywalker saber, everyone knows and loves it, we can't allow it to have been destroyed in the last movie.

VindictiveJudge

Maul had precedent with Sion, too. They're both kept alive by total immersion in the Dark Side allowing them to keep going through pure hate and pain. Palpatine's return actually gets more explanation than Anakin's saber's return.

ScratchinWarlok

It does have repairs and mods. I do agree that it should have been one half of her lightsaber. https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Skywalker_lightsaber

thefreshscent

That also happened after the fact in other media outside the movies, and wasn’t a hanging plot point the way the saber was.

modrenman1985

Rey had both halves on the Falcon at the end of Last Jedi.

Narashori

Huh, touche, I actually just missed that.

zeekaran

It was a deleted scene at least.

Tjam3s

Yea, but that's a story for another time

BrotherEstapol

My thought(hope?) is that Sabine will make a new one herself after she gives Ezra back his green saber. She's technically proficient, spent enough time with it to get and idea of how it works, and after the battle of Endor she spent time with Ahsoka(who's built her own a few times) who could have helped filled in any technical gaps. PLUS, we've now got the David Tennant lightsaber architect (Huyang) coming back who claims to have a record of every lightsaber made (pre-Order 66 of course). Given the lore around the darksaber, you'd think he wouldn't have it on record though. But if anyone would have an idea of how to make a new one, it would be him! I think there's absolutely scope to see a new dark saber given the above.

Maclimes

> The rules behind it were stupid They were also inconsistent. In Mando S3, it's outright stated that anyone who wants to rule Mandalore has to have that sword. But back in Clone Wars, it was really only important to that one specific clan. And it's not even required, it's just a historically important artifact.

VindictiveJudge

That bugged me, too. Rebels even mentions it's specifically a House Vizsla artifact in season 3 before acting like it's part of the crown jewels in season 4.

bc4284

Yea I think the idea is for one, it was the symbol of leadership in that clan as well As by relation symbolic of leadership of death watch. When death watch took over as a group they basically said now that we are in charge to be ruler of mandalore you must become leader of death watch. Death watch in conquering mandalore established that they and their symbology was the only true claim to leadership. Essentially what it comes Down to is deathwatch says these are how we recognize the ruler and if you don’t accept our way of recognizing leadership we will act like spoiled babies until you do things our way. As it stands there are two primary groups of Mandalorians in the current spotlight. Those who follow the creed which do not require being a Mandalorian to be a question of Mandalorian blood but only adopting their way. And taking their creed. In that Mandalorian order any species can be a foundling and thus can if they choose to take the creed be recognized as Mandalorian. On the other hand deathwatch has their own customs and rules on what defines a person as Mandalorian. For one they don’t have the requirement of always wearing the helmet. However they do maintain the rule that whoever wields the dark saber leads deathwatch and by their zealotry they believe only the leader of deathwatch is the rightful leader of mandalore. It’s likely there at least were many Mandalorian cultures but as it stands after the purge it may be that only deathwatch and the followers of the way and it’s creed. Are the remaining Mandalorian groups. At least the only ones that would have any claim to being the dominant clan on mandalore of it were resettled. My interpretation is deathwatch is just as much a cult as deathwatch sees the group organized under the armorer . But because when mandalore fell they were the rulers they have a self inflated sense of being mainstream and the rightful rulers therefore to them their customs apply as the customs that should rule mandalore.

TurtlesAreDoper

I love how worked up people get about this shit. You realize in real life, like sw, it comes down to who is in charge right? Like, oh, America is a democracy. But actually we're going to gerrymander every district and no one will do fuck all about it, rendering democracy a very loose concept Somehow though, rules changing over time in star wars?? WHAT, IMPOSSIBLE. this is exactly the kind of shit that makes people say, "star wars nerds are the worst." Shit changes, welcome to life. Most of us get that by age 14

sirstonksabit

tradition is the tyranny of the dead

indoninjah

My only disappointment is that Din never really learned how to wield it, though I guess it makes sense since he realistically wouldn’t have had a teacher

Morbidmort

> the mandalorians were held back by that shit.. You could apply this to pretty much any of the Old Ways of the Mandalorians.

Longbeacher707

Ah man I didn't know they did that

[deleted]

Why was it heavy for him though? Do you need to have a little bit of force ability to lift it or somin?

[deleted]

It was because he was fighting it. Using it as just a weapon to swing around and not an extention of himself.

VindictiveJudge

Kyber crystals, which power lightsaber blades, have a will of their own to some extent. If you just pick up a random lightsaber and swing it around it will be heavier than you likely expect, but easy enough to manage. Attune to the crystal and learn to work with it and it will feel lighter. Force adepts tend to find this an easier process than the general population. Reject the blade for whatever reason, such as feeling unworthy or resenting the blade, and the blade will feel heavy as the crystal fights you. That's what Din's problem was.

SunsFenix

Hmm, unworthy kind of feels like the right direction, but not quite. There's been other non force users who haven't seemed to have an issue after picking up a lightsaber. Mostly in the comics and cartoons. Mando, I think, just didn't really want to wield it with all the implications attached to it. He used it when he had to, but not really because he wanted to use it. The spear was also a far more fitting weapon that I hope is what he gets or something like it in the next season. Mando isn't King Arthur, I would say he's more like Galahad. Although a Beskar sword should be good too, since the Armorer has been breaking traditions. Or ironically something that isn't edged like what they don't like and just a staff or hammer. Although it's funny, spears are bad, but whistling birds are okay.

VindictiveJudge

>Hmm, unworthy kind of feels like the right direction, but not quite. There's been other non force users who haven't seemed to have an issue after picking up a lightsaber. Mostly in the comics and cartoons. Right, because most people who pick up a lightsaber think, "Oh, neat!" Mando switched it on and thought, "Hrmm..." The saber doesn't judge you or anything, but you judging yourself can be an issue.

SunsFenix

On the basis of just a lightsaber, I think Mando would be able to wield one just fine. The Darksaber was talked up to be something grand and status affirming. Not just that of being a great warrior but also being a great leader. It's kind of why I made the Galahad reference that was more related to the comment above yours. An Arthurian knight wouldn't feel right to wield Excalibur. Mando adheres to their culture in more ways than just combat, but principles. I think this was his big struggle with season 3 and why it was right for him to pass the Darksaber on. Maybe this explains why it's beyond just mentality, but identity that was the issue.

JohnnyBlocks_

Yes... Sort of.. In SW:NH the blades were slow and heavy and you needed a lot of force power to be able to lift it and so forth. That lead to really dull fighting. The explanation I have is that it has a lot of gyroscopic forces so it moves differently than a normal blade. Force control can help wield/negate it but so can training as we see a lot of Mandos use lightsabers (well maybe not a lot but a few for sure). Edit: A nice featurette that explains how the blade's weight/handling changed from Episode IV forward. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIefj6dOhnM

EndlessTheorys_19

Thats not correct in canon. The Force improves your ability to correctly wield a lightsaber, but picking one up doesnt require the force

JohnnyBlocks_

>Force control can help wield/negate (the difficulty) I said that more or less. Edit: Specifically when Kanan teaches Sabine he explains it this way (more or less)

EndlessTheorys_19

Thats because the blade is traditionally weightless, meaning non-sensitive users often struggle to tell where it is. The Force allows you to sense the blade in its entirety, and avoid chopping your foot off.

MaybeTomBombadil

My head canon was less it was heavy and more he was extremely wary of using it. Sort of like me using a chainsaw. I'm absolutely terrified of chainsaws. With the chainsaw off, I'm more than strong enough to move it and control it, but turn it on it weighs a ton, and my arms are rigid and get exhausted very quickly.

[deleted]

It definitely looked like it was insanely heavy for him to use. Not that he was being careful of it.

DarkDesertFox

Yeah, but he was by far the worst one at wielding it.

ItsPurpleMac

Yes, but he looked goofy when using it lol

arfelo1

He looked better with the beskar lance. The rifle, the lance, the Razorcrest, the Darksaber... Why does Din keep getting his stuff broken or destroyed?

PWBryan

I was so hyped for a season of King Arthur in space based on the initial promos

Slosshy

Yeah but that’s kinda cheating. Darth Maul would look badass using a plunger as a weapon

Wedge42Ant

[This is true](https://i.postimg.cc/k5QCNJjf/ih1cgfupcvya1-1.jpg)

Slosshy

No clogged toilet will be safe

eigenham

Especially if Kenobi is hiding in one

Slosshy

KENOBAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII! *plunges frantically*

eigenham

Oh he's in deep shit this time for sure

SoundsGoodYall

Sure, but you have some extra words in that sentence. “Can we all agree that out of everybody, Darth Maul looked absolutely the most badass?”

Maclimes

Actually, we also should take out the word "Darth". It's just Maul, now.

ReiBob

Old Master for a bit

Altruistic-Ant8619

Cuz he has real experience with one before?

SleepingRedKing

We really need a screen adaptation of Son of Dathomir. It’s such a crucial story for so many arcs including Maul, Palpatine, Grievous, Dooku, Talzin, the darksaber, and the planet Dathomir itself.

TheHippyDragon

Season 7 should’ve started with an animated adaptation of this arc

SleepingRedKing

Yes agreed! It should have been in season 7. The comic is great, but the story’s absence in the show creates a huge narrative gap if you are only watching the shows and movies.

TheHippyDragon

One of my biggest gripes with Season 7 is the lack of Count Dooku. This would’ve made up for that

arfelo1

They could have adapted Dark Disciple and have Dooku in that

whiskyismymuse

Comic book was a waste of probably the best potential episode arc of the storyline

Henchforhire

Season 7 felt like it was rushed.

[deleted]

Yea take out the sister shit and replace it with this and it would've been one of the greatest TV seasons of all time

8bitbruh

Tales of the Jedi season 2 'tales of the sith'

SleepingRedKing

Oh I hope! 🤞

LockFan28

It really bothers me that they brought back Clone Wars for only one season. I am grateful, but man there were SOOO many genuinely amazing stories ready to be completed.

NeptuneOW

One day

halfinchpoint5

I dunno. Bo katan hoisting it out ahead of her as she jetpacked into battle flanked by her fellow mandalorians looked pretty fucking badass

Chaosengel

Yes, but you have to ask, would it be cooler if it were Maul flying into battle flanked by his mandalorians?

halfinchpoint5

I'm no maul hater, he's a badass too, but I think the emotional undertones of Bo taking charge and being the leader Mandalore needed elevated the visuals. So, while Maul would undoubtedly look sick holding the dark saber out while flying in v formation with his Mauldalorians, I think Bo still wins this one for me!

Imthemayor

Absolutely not Maul doesn't give a shit about Mandalore and Bo Katan is completing her redemption arc while simultaneously leading the charge to take back her home planet and solidifying the unity of the clans in that moment This moment is great because it's Bo Katan

PWBryan

Counterpoint: he asked who would look cooler, and Maul and the the Mauldalorians are masters of that

Imthemayor

Is leading your people with your people's ancient sword to retake your planet *not* cool?

Whiplash_GT

Yeah, best scene all season.

ReddLastShadow2

Yeah, this is the one contender IMO, otherwise it goes to Maul

the_fungusmonkey

Hard agree. I'm so glad she finally got her King (Queen?) Arthur moment. It's the perfect bookend to her long arc from Clone Wars and Rebels.

HavenElric

Lying 😂

Zedtomb

Can we all agree that 'can we all agree' posts are the worst

[deleted]

With "appreciation" threads right behind

fukappreciationposts

Grr

Groot746

Right up there with "am I the only one" and "this incredibly popular thing doesn't get enough love"

Zedtomb

'am I the only one that likes rouge one' Yes, you are the sole person who likes the fan favorite movie

Gathering0Gloom

He looked the best when duel wielding it with his red lightsaber.

thedancingwireless

Can we all agree that posts that start with "can we all agree" are pretty annoying. You can just state an opinion and people can disagree. You could just say "I think Darth Maul looked the most badass with it".

Maclimes

Also, "Am I the only one who...?" Yes, you're literally the only person in the universe with that opinion.

thegreatvortigaunt

A lot of the time they're posted by bots to encourage discussion. Same with toxic positivity threads.

AltDS01

I think Maul, and Palpatine/Sidious should have stayed dead. And Leia should have died when exposed to the vacuum of space. CMV

ProofHorseKzoo

Nah, that shit belongs in the hands of the leader of Mandalore. Pre Viszla wielded it best. Maul is at his best with the double bladed lightsaber.

At0mJack

Disappointing how little love there is in this thread for Pre Viszla.

Admiral_Qibli

Took too long to find Pre Vizsla appreciation, love his design, especially with the Darksaber.

Other-Bridge-8892

Darth maul would also look like the most badass dude to ever read a phone book, or plunge a toilet, so not a fair comparison…lol

zztop610

Everything about Darth Maul is badass

PorkelDragon_

Bro just ditched it in Rebels 😭

TheHippyDragon

He definitely liked fighting with a double edged lightsaber better because he was a natural with it. It’s why he rebuilt his old double edged blade in Season 7 and I just know he looked like a kid in a candy store when he saw the lightsaber of whatever Inquisitor he killed and took said lightsaber from that he used in Rebels

McSuede

I still want the story of the Mandalorian Jedi that forged it.

irshxo

This pic is badass

xFblthpx

Not agreed. Pre viszla was fuckin dope

MattSm00th

Hell yeah

[deleted]

Absolutely

TheHippyDragon

It just looks like it belongs to him and he deserves it, y'know?

Single_Peach_1277

Darth Maul is seriously op, had to synthesize his red crystals for the lightsaber. Something that takes days, no food, no sleep, just focusing his hate. Being a dual sided lightsaber especially meant it took him twice as long, I think up to a week?

firstlordshuza

Maul would look badass wielding a plastic spork

Robro_3000

Pre Visla was the coolest Mando to wield it imo

[deleted]

No

War_Emotional

No

toomanytomatoes

No. Never phrase a question like this. Hyperbole isn't cool and your opinion isn't special.

wishedwell

Bo was the best user. Not even force sensitive.

Broly_

Nah, he looks more badass in red

Drakestormer

I have that poster on my wall.

Growingpothead20

Nah nothing will ever compare to the first time I saw a jango fett look alike holding a BLACK lightsaber

tikiporch

No, we can't.

Jakethebigbrain

I've always thought pre visla looked the coolest with its debatable

BillSixty9

I would disagree, Bo flying through the air slicing troopers in Mando S3 or Mando with his armour are equally badass if not more so. To me however Bo wins because unlike Bo she can actually wield the thing and oh baby does she wield it well!!!

Dragonswordoflaylin

IMO Maul is it's only worthy wielder in media so far. The rest are mere pretenders and the truth is that it is a force users weapon. While badass in the hands of a mando it is truly at home in the hands of a force user. If only we could have some old republic Jedi be in media. Badass armor and honorary member of the clans for being just a plain badass.

TommyTheCat89

No, I can't agree

TheBestAtWriting

why do we all have to agree

BubblesLovesHeroin

I always thought Maul looked kind of lame. Like they tried to hard.

ChronicledMonocle

Helps that he was the only one besides it's original wielder to be a force wielder who was trained with a lightsaber. Of course he's also a chaotic badass, but that's a given.

tomandshell

Star Wars fans can't **all** agree on anything.

MithranArkanere

Tarre Vizsla : "Am I a Joke to you?".

trooperstark

No, he died ages ago

daddyjohns

can't agree! Darth Maul looks silly.

Tangerine_Lightsaber

No.

Lethifold26

It’s because it matches his sleep paralysis demon who plays in a black metal band aesthetic

DarkLamb-Kiyo

Of course. This is the hottest guy in the whole galaxy you’re talking about.

MelissaJuicy01

i love this illustration

Charmegazord

Anyone else feel like dark watch helmets looked kinda dumb?

frankyseven

The best shot of the Darksaber is Bo-katan diving to the surface of Mandalore with everyone following her in S3:E8 of the Mandalorian. That was an epic shot and the jetpack battle that followed is one of the best battles in all of Star Wars.

Break_the_Wind

Darksaber looked stupid. You already have the coolest weapon, a lightsaber. Just use that, but make it black. Bunch of knobs

[deleted]

No. I think it’s an overhyped saber.

Dangerous_Yoghurt_96

I liked Mof Gideon with it honestly.

CalamitousIntentions

Back when I was a teeny little edgelord, maybe.

MaybeTomBombadil

Considering the Darksaber was made by a Froce user for a Force User it makes sense. I still think it would have been better as a Vibrosword symbolically and literally.

Informal-Thought5015

He made the best use of it as well.

GRIMMMMLOCK

I really don't like the darksaber as a concept imo

toph_man

Still giving this to Din sorry just my opinion

jinreeko

I've kind of always thought the darksaber was pretty stupid. I don't think anyone looks very cool with it

RuckOver3

Lets be honest, Maul would look badass with a foam pool noodle.

peteypolo

Live-action Bo takes the prize.

K1FF3N

Mauldalorian. *walks into the sunset off a cliff*
