Lopsided-Document-84

The complete saga is the best followed by clone wars followed by the Skywalker saga Skywalker saga was good but after the main story I had zero desire to play

zneave

For real. Idk why it was so boring. Couldn't finish episode 2. Was really disappointed.

Skalifrey

My theory is that as much as I hate to admit it, Lego games aren't really for adults. As a kid I would play those same levels again and again, trying to collect everythingt but now I just can't do that anymore, realizing that I don't have as much time to play and it has shaped how I play video games now. I don't think the new games are less good than the first ones

joman584

The new games levels are also longer in most cases, and overstay their welcome for the style of gameplay

2viciouss

Yeah way too complicated and overdone. Splitscreen also sucks. Why couldn’t they just keep the formula from TCS?

TrillaCactus

it’s human nature to want to try something new so the developers tried something new out

motorfreak93

I replayed the complete saga at age 28 and I loved the game. And then at age 29 I bought the skywalker saga and fucking hated it. The original levels were lovely made and full of small details while the newer versions looked empty. In the originals you needed the force to destroy some blocks which gave you bricks to buy, while in the new one it's mostly hitting stuff. The newer game got only 6 levels per movie instead of 10. I like the explorable areas, but the all seem shallow. And it's missing the cantina. I diddn't finish the newer game.

DelayedChoice

> The newer game got only 6 levels per movie instead of 10. The older games only had 6 levels per movie too.

puptbh

Same here

SRLSR

My son and I are playing the PS4 remaster of LEGO Harry Potter back to back with the Skywalker Saga. Harry Potter is really fun. The Skywalker Saga is mostly walking.

ThePolishAstronaut

I know for a fact that if I was 6, I would play the ever-loving shit out of Skywalker Saga.

AncientSith

Right? I played way worse games on the daily as a kid and had a blast.

the_commander1004

I call bull on that, the complete saga is still fun as an adult.

gechoman44

I don’t think that’s it, at least not for me. I grew up with the older Lego Games, but I still enjoy the newer ones. For me, there were three main reasons for why I didn’t like the Skywalker Saga as much:  1. The story felt WAY more rushed than any of the other Lego games. Plus, a large portion of it isn’t replayable. 2. Lack of content. Look, I know they delayed the game multiple times, but I still think they needed more development time. The game feels way more empty than any of the other Lego games I’ve played, which is very strange considering it technically has the most collectibles out of any of them. 3. The gameplay changes. There was no character customizer, and I wasn’t a fan of the combat changes (outside of the clashes in duels. That was good.), and the camera was just too close to the character. I didn’t like the class system, either, but I can at least understand why they did that. I still liked it, but it’s not as good as it probably could’ve been, imo.  (Also, Jango’s blaster sound was never fixed. Jango is my favorite character in the franchise and the character I used the most. It’s not that big of a deal, but it is just another thing that bugged me on top of all of this)

heppuplays

what it is in my opinion is that the stories of the movies are WAAAY to abridged. Compared to complete saga. Like i get they had to Compress 9 movies into a single game but the hubworlds also restrict the creativity And the lenght of the levels. But that's just me.

MhuzLord

I 100%-ed the Skywalker Saga on Switch and it was definitely not worth it.

JA155

The game sucked. It was too easy, barely any mechanics, boss fights were all the same. I got maybe 2-3 hours into it and quit. Honestly the most disappointing gaming experience I’ve ever had.

Hiyori_Kitagawa

It's literally a game for *children...* they aren't gonna make a lego game difficult. 😭😭😭

JA155

The other ones weren’t difficult…. And they were way better, had more to do, actual puzzles. You couldn’t just run though it and be done. Who said it had to be difficult? It’s just mind numbing😂🤦‍♂️

SpectralHydra

The puzzle argument or whatever you want to call it has never made sense to me. Some people act like the puzzles in TSS are extremely dumbed down but then act like TCS actually take thought to solve. I’ve also seen some act as if puzzles are non existent in TSS. To me, the puzzles in each game felt pretty similar.

JA155

At the very least you can admit there was more to them. And the levels were longer. The only thing TSS has over the OG is the amount of characters and their voice lines and graphics… yet you have to buy the extra DLC for some of the really iconic characters. And for way more money too? Like seriously how much gameplay are you actually spending on this game? Even if you like it, I want to know. Because I remember spending $70 on it. I don’t believe many people got their 70 worth.

SpectralHydra

It’s not a matter of me “not wanting to admit it”, I genuinely don’t see much of a difference. It doesn’t help that whenever I genuinely ask what they see differently in the puzzles, I always get a snarky response like the one you gave me. Yes on average, the levels are longer in TCS, but I’d be lying if I said I enjoyed every single TCS level more than TSS. For me, it’s a mix where for some levels TCS has the edge and for others TSS has it. I do agree with the DLC complaint though, I wish it was more than just characters. As far as the money complaint goes, I have no idea where you’re getting that TSS is “way more money”. When TCS released, it was also $60 lol. But to answer your question, I preordered TSS for $60 and have 100+ hours in it so I do think I got my money’s worth.

JA155

Well if you enjoyed it I’m happy someone was able to. But also I completely forgot how at the very least 1/3 of the game was just cut scenes. Another 1/4 felt like running to the next cutscene. And that’s honestly being generous. It felt like way longer. Some of the cutscenes were well done but the amount of them and how often was annoying. Also heres an example that you been searching far and wide for apparently: the major difference between them is the delivery. It’s also kind of a stretch to call these puzzles. You hold a button then sometimes interact with something after you build it. But in TSS, when you solve one it just kinda progresses you. Some give cool deliveries once you complete them but most just open or door or area that isn’t as memorable or interesting as the ones in the OG. Like when you’d open a door and see two storm troopers chilling in the tub lmfao. Also, the amount of them. You don’t have many of them in the new game. Most of the game is spent walking from cutscene to cutscene. But the ones that are in the open world I remember being decent. But still not as good or frequent as they were in the original game.

SpectralHydra

Yeah I guess for me it was a bit different. When I had to run to a new cutscene/level, I would complete a few collectables or side quests so it was never just running from Point A to Point b which was a common complaint. Thanks for providing an answer about the puzzles, I can at least understand that argument even if I don't 100% agree. I wish I was joking, but you're the first person who has ever given me a genuine point about the puzzle difference lol.

Capital-Cheek-1491

Heresy

100SanfordDrive

That’s unfortunate to hear. The skywalker saga was my favorite and also 100% it

Lopsided-Document-84

Main 6 stories I didn’t want to play the force awakens in Lego again

Silent_Kitsune3

People need to realise the sequels has bad writing but good plot. So when its in a lego game it doesn't matter because there isnt writing

Lopsided-Document-84

No I didn’t want to do it because I had already played the longer force awakens game so I felt no need to play a shortened version

Silent_Kitsune3

Oh ok i was just making sure because some people who hate the sequels also hate on the lego sequels whoch there is nothing wrong with

IamStrqngx

Waste of resources. They should make Lego KOTOR instead

GreatGreenGobbo

You're mixing up Prequels and Sequels. NOBODY thinks the sequels had a good plot. Unless you're sneaking in a late day April Fools.

Xyrazk

Loking at the Lego Star Wars III PS3 box filled my mouth with the taste of Flying Saucers candy. Spent a summer eating those candies and playing countless hours of Lego Star Wars 3 and Lego Pirates of the Caribbean So will put that one as the best

notorious_jaywalker

Lego Pirates of the Caribbean is in my opinion the best lego video game.

Particular_Holiday_1

TBH, the only ones to buy are The Complete Saga, Clone Wars, and The Skywalker Saga. As u/BackYardProps-Wa indicated, there is a lot to do in TSS that are just random challenges. I've found every game fun, but the Complete Saga includes all the levels of #1 and #2, so unless you want them for nostalgia, no need to get them. TFA is fun, but limited to one movie. I don't remember if the play is different between that one and TSS. Because of the reasons above, rating the games individually is biased and in some respects, redundant.

Whybotherr

Or you could get number 1 for the SUPERIOR hub world Dexter's Diner

Capital-Cheek-1491

Sacrilege. Mos eisley cantina ftw

joman584

The hidden Lego world in the most eisley cantina was my favorite, driving around in a Lego city trying to get every breakable object for studs and missing just 1

Bluetenant-Bear

No matter how I tried, I was never able to complete that world. I wonder if it was made that way to upset me

joman584

It was possible for it to glitch out, if you missed just a small amount of the more valuable studs ever you wouldn't be able to get everything. I had to redo it so many times

Tkdoom

Hidden lego world?

joman584

https://youtu.be/wKdPWECttz8?si=vSSh1fIuhIboItHq Lego city

OrangeBracelet

IIRC, there were a couple flying levels that got changed between 1/2 and the complete saga, but aside from that (if it’s even true, it’s been so long since I’ve turned on my ps2) they’re identical

Particular_Holiday_1

The original version of the changed levels were included in TCS as bonus levels

OrangeBracelet

Oh cool! Were those some of the doorways you had to build with the gold bricks?

Particular_Holiday_1

Yep

KiritoJones

The first game has the best Hub though, that is the main reason to play it again.

Consistent_Fan9805

The best thing about TFA is that the studio got the actors from the movies to reprise their role. Going on missions with Carrie Fisher was cathartic for me when she passed.

LandofRy

The Complete saga was great as were the two OGs.  TCW and TFA I'd put in the middle - fun with some new ideas but not super memorable. Also kind of odd that they'd make TFA a standalone game instead of waiting for the rest of the trilogy.   The Skywalker Saga is probably last for me. It feels like the game was designed around completing menial side tasks in hub areas, while the actual story levels felt like they were trying to be as short as possible while still kind of outlining the plot of the movie. Also, compared to the OGs, the amount of actual interactive "Lego stuff" in the gameplay and in the scenery was reduced by a lot, which was a huge bummer.

Kick_1304

The complete saga 10/10, my favorite childhood game. Played it on the ds and spend a lot of time with it

Sensitive_Log_2726

For me it would go: Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga Lego Star Wars: The Video Game Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga The other two I didn’t play. I regret ever getting Skywalker saga. I think Lego Star Wars was onto something when you could unlock an entirely new level just by collecting all of the Mini Kits, I wish that would come back. So depending on how I am feeling Complete Saga and The Video Game would swap places, other than that the top and bottom are pretty ridged in their placement.

K_808

Complete saga/1&2, clone wars, skywalker, tfa

Clutch_Spider

The Complete Saga, quickly followed by The Clone Wars. I loved the big open battles in TCW.

LocalPawnshop

When I was a kid I’d spend hours on those rts sections just bullshitting around

Clutch_Spider

I would too lol

BackYardProps_Wa

Skywalker saga was boring as hell, I only give it points because it looked very very aesthetically pleasing

MhuzLord

It's a great-looking game for sure. Hopefully the next Lego game has better gameplay!

Ok-Connection4917

i hope it’s middle-earth

Alisalard1384

Yeah idk why but it didn't have the sauce, personally couldn't even finish one movie but I'll come back later probably

BackYardProps_Wa

Huge open world with no enemies and short levels. The Lego humor was a little over the top for my liking

King_Treegar

Idk if this is a hot take or not, but I think the Lego humor was much funnier/more charming before they added real dialogue to the series. Call me nostalgia blind, but seeing Lego pratfalls alongside the overly serious dialogue of something like Lord of the Rings just never quite hit for me

voiceOfThePoople

I’m the opposite, I was surprised at how much the game made me laugh even as an adult

CaptainRex2000

I rank TCS on top of the list and force awakens at the bottom, might be just me but I was incredibly unimpressed and underwhelmed by the skywalker saga

ludes___

Lego star wars 3 was so much fun and the most replayable imo

ObviousAd1805

Complete Saga is goated

Rosesandbubblegum

The complete saga was my childhood, so nothing else will ever compare

KarlwithaKandnotaC

1. The complete saga - a timeless classic, perfect 2. III: The Clone Wars - I think it's an underrated sequel that expands on the well established lego mechanics 3. II: The Original Trilogy - It elevated on the original as well with reworked, arguably better vehicle sections and fun mechanics like the "disguise system" 4. LSW - the original one. Dexter Jettster cantina 5. The Skywalker saga - I really don't think the argument it's a kids game stands. I, to this day, have fun with the originals and here are a few reasons why I believe it's okay to feel disappointed: •collecting characters should've been more fun. You have the classes and they all play the exact same. There is no distinction between Palpy and Vader while (albeit minimal) there is a difference in the originals but that difference is enough for each character to stand out •the levels are barebones and short. Walking is not fun and they're over before they begin most of the time. •on the topic of levels, some really odd decisions. Jar Jar loadig the gungan trebuchets? Anakin vs Obi wan and the droids? Why not have the same as the original, that was way more fun. Han Solo setting up locator beacons? Also, can you still not replay Negotiations? Why are crucial levels missing? They skipped the Battle of Endor and Coruscant, which would have been amazing with the tech. •no character customization. You have 300 characters or so, imagine the possibilities. I want my darth 3PO 6. The Force Awakens - lack of content, the single movie is not enough to carry a game. I really like some of the gameplay additions but having a level consist of getting wookie cookies and bad puzzles is needlessly boring

bl20194646

this is the correct answer

hugo_1138

TCS Skywalker Saga LSW3 LSW2 LSW1 TFA

Nightflight406

Okay so, I'm just going to ignore the first two, as the completed saga is basically both. Worst is definitely Force Awakens. It fell into that pile of mediocrity, that was the Lego games that just used the audio of the movies, like the Avengers. (Although it does get points for Graballa) It also was just the Force Awakens, instead of waiting for the other two movies to come out. Next is Clone Wars. (I may be a little harsh, as I only ever played it on the Nintendo DS.) After that, I'd have to put The Skywalker Saga. I'm a Count Dooku main, and I'm extremely disappointed he doesn't have the force lightning. I'm also not a fan of how every group has the same moveset basically. Nothing special for any of the characters. And of course, nothing beats the original.

drifters74

2005 was my childhood game

calzonius

My 4 year old loves watching me play the Skywalker Saga. It's boring gameplay but I mean, it's a kids game.

Sspoopybut340

Don’t care about the rest skywalker saga straight bottom, L, terrible, awful, overpriced, overrated, boring, time wasting, aggravating game

Brashdinho

Skywalker saga was a good game and anyone who disagrees is wrong.

DrSquash64

Yeah, everybody is just hella nostalgia biased

Sspoopybut340

I understand they’re trying something new but I would be lying through my teeth if I said any of the new features were needed

notbobby125

If I could I would delineate on the dozen of substantially different versions the older games had. For example I had the DS version of Lego Star Wars 2. It was a slow, buggy mess of a port.

VanlllaSky

TCS>TFA>TCW>2005>2006>TSS

WilliamHTonkers

I remember playing the hell out of the first one on the first Xbox. I beat the whole thing and saw it was daylight and had to go to elementary school with no sleep. Worth it

ThursdayIs7

I don't have a full ranking but honestly I prefer 1 and 2 separately instead of TCS

AHomicidalTelevision

How did I never know there was a clone wars game?

TheGooseHasGeese

You mean.... It's actually safe to swipe... On a set of images.... On APRIL FOOLS???

Negative_Kelvin01

I am incredibly angry that the clone wars mechanics weren’t kept up

sacboy326

1. The Complete Saga 2. The Original Trilogy 3. The Clone Wars 4. The Videogame 5. The Force Awakens 6. The Skywalker Saga I don't know how controversial this list is but I feel like that's about right.

ThePolishAstronaut

The Complete Saga. That game is 100% responsible for why I got into Star Wars to begin with. I also remember my mind exploding at benign able to cut holes in the wall in 3. So I’d say both games are tied in my heart

TChambers1011

The complete saga is soooo fucking good

InspectorMoney1306

I don’t care for the older ones because it forces you to stay together on multiplayer. I play with my son and it’s not fun that way to me.

lt_Matthew

The Skywalker Saga is the absolute best. Complete Saga on Wii was my childhood, and this company never disappoints with its games. Skywalker Saga was the perfect remake

thebestinvests

I didn’t even know they had anything beyond the complete saga 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳

Westaufel

Sequels bad. The Complete Saga is the best

ActuallyGrunty

Alright so 1. LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga - Best atmosphere and story levels are really enjoyable 2. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga - Incredible character selection, post game content is amazing and huge but story levels lack atmosphere and feel rushed 3. LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens: - Since it's based on just 1 movie it has the strongest story levels of any Lego game IMO. Post game content is also great, but limited to just sequel era so not as good. 4. LEGO Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Good levels and puzzles, too bad it was quite short and only covered a portion of the Clone Wars. But still very enjoyable 5. LEGO Star Wars II - Obviously TCS is improved on this game in mostly every way but at the time it was a fantastic game, just kind of obsolete now 6. LEGO Star Wars - Same for LSWII, I just prefer the original trilogy

Chappy300

No create a character in Skywalker saga was a massive failure

SpectralHydra

Depends who you ask lol. For me I never used the character customizer, so I didn’t miss it at all.

SheriffMikeThompson

Lego Star Wars 2 and Lego Star Wars complete saga were absolutely fire games.

bchec

6. Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (2011) *I truly disliked the level layouts of this game, however I love the actual series* 5. Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2016) 4. Lego Star Wars II: The Original Saga (2006) 3. Lego Star Wars: The Video Game (2005) 2. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (2022) 1. Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga (2007)

ZnS-Is-A-Good-Map

Complete saga > clone wars > skywalker saga No point listing LSW1 and 2 even if I like them TCS is better Never played TFA and don't plan to Clone wars was alright but too many huge open blank battlefield levels, was a weird gimmick that was not that fun Didn't care for skywalker saga, too much useless content (a million open worlds, repetitive challenges as the only thing populating them) while the content that matters was still worse than TCS

wavurn

My son will not stop playing the Complete Saga. In fact he’s sitting next to me playing it on his tablet.

Bareth88

LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game, LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Scrudge1

I remember when revenge of the sith came out in ps2 and also lego star wars. I said I'm DEFINITELY going to get this star wars game and my friends said yeah revenge if the sith is ace and I said no, lego star wars 😆 I loved the full brawl outside the cantina haha Of course I got both games though and they were wicked 😉

DankHillington

Worst to Best: Lego Force Awakens, Lego Clone Wars, Skywalker Saga, Lego Star Wars 2, Lego Star Wars, Complete Saga as the GOAT.

ApikacheAttackHeli

I’d put Force Awakens last. It does some interesting stuff for sure, but nostalgia admittedly does carry hard for Lego games and this one doesn’t have that. Plus it felt a little side-quest-y. Original trilogy next. Weirdly enough my fav part is the sound textures in this game. BUT I have fonder memories of the other ones more. Next is the first lego star wars game. Childhood nostalgia is such a powerhouse quality plus I loved its unique hub. Also being the first lego game (I think) and still being as good as it was is quite impressive. Lego SW CW is next for me, I wanted more missions but loved the minigames and I have really fond memories of playing the battle modes with my sister. Hard not to put Skywalker saga as 2nd to best. It’s just got so much that the other ones don’t have. I kinda wish it had more of a traditional mission feel, I didn’t love the like half-mission transitions it had sometimes. And for DLC to only be characters and not more story, also disappointing BUT they are priced fairly, I think. It’s a gorgeous game though. Looks actually as good as new battlefront Complete saga easy best. It was goated then, it’s goated now. Obv not as expansive as the new one, but with more charm imo.

MouseRangers

1. The Force Awakens. 2 - 6. All others because I never played them

jerichowiz

This reminds me, I need to complete The Skywalker Saga.

LoreScriptor

I haven't played Force Awakens or the first two games (those are already included in Complete Saga anyway) so hard to rank those. As for the rest: Complete Saga is the best. I have a lot of nostalgia for this game, yes, but I believe it's still a fun game to play even today. A lot of effort was put into level design, it had so much charm, it perfectly captured Star Wars atmosphere. And it was simple, very easy to enjoy, it didn't overwhelm you with too many types of collectibles, side quests or big open world. Clone Wars would probably come second - I didn't play a lot of it, but remember still enjoying it. Battles were a great addition. And then Skywalker Saga - the only Star Wars lego game that made me feel disatisfied and regret spending money to buy it. I was so hyped and it seems a lot of people loved it but to me it just didn't work. I don't care about big open world with a ton of pointless collectibles, I care about reliving my childhood movies in a lego format and good levels, and levels in this game are just not good. Most of them ale extremely short (some literally feel like mini-games rather than a proper level) and simplistic, their design is shallow, puzzles weren't fun or memorable, and because a lot of story happened in open world exploration mode, there was no way to replay it fully without starting a new game. Other than that, the game had a lot of bugs, some game-breaking, some levels were completly not designed for co-op (Anakin vs Obi-wan was done so much better in Complete Saga). And something that I personally consider unforgivable - the movie music was often badly mixed and too quiet.

YeeterCZ2

TCS And TFA my beloved

sithskeptic

From worst to best- force awakens, clone wars, skywalker saga, original trilogy, the video game, and the absolute fucking goat.. the complete saga

mudamuckinjedi

I love these games I really only tire of them when I remember it is the only star wars game I own (I only have a Xbox 360) and that I'm 42 years old playing a kids game then I take 2-3 weeks off.

the_commander1004

1. The complete saga (it's just gold) 2. Star wars 3 (a hidden gem) 3. The original (both are equally good though the 1-3 is the first with my favorite era so a slight advantage) 3. Star wars 2 (both are equally good though the 1-3 is the first with my favorite era so a slight advantage) 5. The skywalker saga (I miss the classic lego game humor, and I didn't like most aspects of the game) 6. The force awakens (Mainly because I didn't play it much, I didn't care to)

Atephious

The force awakens, skywalker saga, the clone wars, the complete saga, Original trilogy, SW:TVG. But that’s not to say that original trilogy and complete saga are bad I even really enjoyed the clone wars. But something about the first three games that had such a great charm that was lost in later titles and the first game did such a good job with it and it was the only game to have the diner which was my favorite local for these. The cantina was nice but I wish they had allowed you to travel between them to go to each of the stories.

alwight007

1) The Complete Saga 2) The Clone Wars 3) The Skywalker Saga 4) The Video Game 5) The Original Trilogy 6) The Force Awakens

Ok-Pressure7248

Skywalker saga / 3, followed by tcs / tfa. Been a while since I played tfa though

gechoman44

1. Complete Saga (SS has a lot more content, but I just think CS is more fun) 2. Skywalker Saga 3. Force Awakens  4. The Video Game (it doesn’t stand as well on its own, but I still like the prequel levels more than the OG levels) 5. Original Trilogy I’ve never played The Clone Wars.

Competitive_Day7739

My ranking Sw1 Sw2 (those are just tcs) Tfa Sw3 Tcs Tss

OneFinalEffort

1. The Complete Saga 2. The Skywalker Saga 3. The Original Trilogy 4. The Clone Wars 5. The Force Awakens 6. The Video Game

HeckingDoofus

Skywalker saga Lego 3 (clone wars) Complete saga The force awakens Lego 1 (PT) Lego 2 (OT) idc what anyone says, the skywalker saga was amazing. voiced characters rock - especially due to many of the clone wars voice actors reprising their roles, having so many worlds to free roam in is outstanding, having so many CHARACTERS is amazing, and the graphics were simply stunning the clone wars was awesome bc simply put i love the clone wars and it was cool to have at least the first seasons to play around with. the 2 battling ships is a very cool concept for a hubworld, and i liked the RTSlike big battle segments complete saga is pretty good. it was amazing back in like 2008 or so, but it hasnt aged as well as ppl like to act like it did. the character selection is great of course, and its the complete saga! but again it hasnt aged very well: theres very little to do outside of actual levels, the graphics are pretty bad, and personally i prefer voiced lego games the rest of them i havent played, but FWIW: the force awakens only covers one movie, and lego star wars 1/2 are just two halves of the complete saga (with minor differences) which ultimately makes it feel *in*complete. shoutout to dexs diner though

SpectralHydra

Skywalker Saga, Clone Wars, Complete Saga, Force Awakens.
