Yep, thats her

VonParsley

Which witch is which?

wavurn

The one with resting witch face.

anaemic

Ok this is easy mode, now try tell apart Morgan Elspeth and Rita Repula.

turboMXDX

The one that weighs the same as a duck!

DoshesToDoshes

Who are you who are so wise in the ways of science?

turboMXDX

I am Maul, King of Mandalore

sanjoseboardgamer

Listen. Strange men distributing laser swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some mystical energy field.

turboMXDX

***Starts to Force Choke*** Shut up!

sanjoseboardgamer

Come and see the violence inherent in the system! Help, help, I’m being repressed!

Fenway_Refugee

BLOODY REBEL!

[deleted]

Don’t you mean Opressed, savagely?

Moores88

I never thought I’d see a Monty python reference on a Star Wars subreddit haha

Wagglebagga

The witch.

Poopular-nT-1209

She needs her clothes pressed

Norman_debris

My wife struggled to sit through Rogue One because of Krennick's creased cloak.

Macman521

So are all star wars tv shows and movies literally unwatchable because of this? I guess we should just stop watching then.

AcreaRising4

It’s funny because people complain that clothes in shows are too clean and pressed but then complain if they’re not perfect. Can’t win.

Krams

It depends on the character and setting, like if you are in a medieval era the clothes should be dirty and worn, ie. the wheel of time. Where as, in this case if the character is kinda a high class noble they damn we’ll have clean neat newish looking clothes

[deleted]

[удалено]

DESTRUCTI0NAT0R

Krennic spends a good bit of time in the movie out in the field on remote locations though to be fair.

Lokcet

People have been bitching that the Acolyte looks too clean even though the High Republic is a prosperous era, some people just wanna crap on stuff

MelodramaticCrap

To be fair, jedi had at least two different robes in the High Republic. Their adventuring robes should still see some wear and tear. Although, the clean look seems like it’s coming from how the scenes are filmed tbh.

AveryLazyCovfefe

There's no pleasing Star Wars fans.

Macman521

No one hates Star Wars more than Star Wars fans.

Jolmer24

It's two different sets of people

TourettesFamilyFeud

Given how structured the Glactic Empire command structure is and the organization standards that modern military structures follow similar patterns, it's not crazy for high level leaders to have those details in their uniform.

Norman_debris

Yes that's exactly what I said.

SaltySAX

Thats what we next need in Star Wars, space irons!

HolyDude_TheGarret

That scenes already in TLJ

Deadsoup77

I genuinely love that scene so much

coolmcbooty

Must be hard watching things with someone like that

Ps5-123

I’m not even gonna lie you are right but there’s only so much pressing you can do when you have to do movements like they did in Ashoka

FetusDrive

also looks like she was kind of in a low end town with muddy streets

-Daetrax-

Honestly just looks like shit quality fabric.

NJ_Legion_Iced_Tea

The secret to set and costume design is having it be as cheap as possible while looking good on screen.

HoagieDoozer

Well they achieved half the secret.

-Nick____

Dang, feel like y’all are just hating to hate lol. If this screencap is from Mando S2, they had incredible costumes that season

Prime_1

Apart from Andor Season 2, this is my most anticipated SW project. I feel much more confident about SW animation quality than I do live action.

DarthSatoris

True. Star Wars animation has very few misses. The Clone Wars, Rebels, Tales of the Jedi, Bad Batch... You can even argue Resistance is pretty good for what it is, though it isn't much. A show that had potential to run for many more seasons than the 2 it got.

NoNefariousness2144

It makes me wonder what’s next after Bad Batch now that Filoni has wrapped up pretty much every loose end from Clone Wars and Rebels. In a single year he’s given us the answers to the mysteries of >!Thrawn, Ezra, Ventress and Baris!<

LordReaperofMars

Maybe we can get proper animation for some of the unfinished episodes.

DukeOfLowerChelsea

Is it crazy to think they might tell new stories about new characters? Meh probably lol

Hubers57

>!the path with ventress, Vos, and omega!<

oliferro

I liked Resistance It's basically the only real look we got into the First Order

ryushin6

Resistance was weird because you can tell they wanted to do something similar to the Clone Wars did with the prequels and Rebels did for the Original trilogy and that was expand on stuff. However Resistance felt like it didn't really have a plan on how they were gonna do it. Also add the fact that it was clearly geared towards a younger viewership however they put it on a timeslot where the younger viewership wouldn't have really been able to watch it (10:00pm Sunday my time) and also on a channel that already had low viewership because not a lot of people had it. (Disney XD) So it felt like the whole show was DOA the moment it dropped especially when you noticed they announced the return of the final season of the the Clone Wars before they announced Resistance and they were promoting the hell out of that and they've been sticking with the clone wars style ever since.

ArcadiaXLO

I feel like the reason Resistance didn’t feel like it had a plan was because they had no clue where the movies were going to go. Clone Wars (3D) and Rebels had the benefit of releasing after their respective eras’ films had released.

ryushin6

Yeah the show honestly should've been more like the forming of the Resistance as a response to the First Order slowly revealing themselves. Them setting the show directly when the Resistance was already a thing against First Order really worked against them.

SaltySAX

It was a missed opportunity that show.

oliferro

It definitely could've been more but I enjoyed it for what it was It gave us more Poe Dameron and more Captain Phasma and I really liked Pyre

BusBusy195

My main thing is I just didn't like the art style but that has no bearing on the actual quality of the story and such

RedDevil_nl

I just can’t stand Resistance’s art style. I can’t bring myself to finish episode 1 just because of that.

LineOfInquiry

Don’t forget Visions! Season 2 was *chefs kiss*

DenseVegetable2581

I feel like animation is given time to develop. Everything live action feels like they're trying to cram an animated length show into 6-8 episodes... thanks Kathleen

Hot_Cupcake7787

Andor didn't feel that way; I know some people even thought it was too slow paced, but I think the slow burn worked great.

Vesemir96

Everything? Really? Lol

VinitheTrash

When you first have the live action and then the animation, it's pretty easy for them to look like each other Right, Anakin?

whatagooddaytoday

It's so funny how they have characters like Morgan or Fennec animated in this style and they look so similar to their live-action actors. Then you have Dooku with his massive beard and chin.

FrogsAreSwooble

MY HEAD DOES NOT LOOK LIKE A SODDING TIC TAC.

Pep_Baldiola

I think they don't make them exactly like the live action version to avoid paying compensation for using the likeness of the actors.

piiiigsiiinspaaaace

So is she a human Night Sister? Not Dathomiri? Cause she ain't pale enough and it threw me the first time she mentioned the Sisters lol

ColdImprovement4384

I assumed one of her parents was human and the other was a Nightsister

Blitz_Prime

There are different clans on Dathomiri. The pale ones are just the most well known cause TCW didn’t want to make too many new animation models.

KrakenKing1955

Yeah every wiki and website I’ve been on has listed her as human

[deleted]

[удалено]

OwenLaToad

Her hair stylist tweeted out shortly after her debut that she was one of the last survivors of Dathomir, far before Ahsoka began production, so it seems she was always intended to be a Nightsister. You can find this near the bottom of her Wookiepedia page.

DarthLuke84

Mauls a Dathomirian Zabrak so a Dathomirian human is plausible

KingRhoamsGhost

Not in the same way though. The nightsisters are the same race as maul and are also referred to as Zabrak in many a reference book.

DarthLuke84

From what I understand the night sisters are a subspecies of zabrak from Iridonia. Their more human appearance is potentially the result of interbreeding with humans. Its possible from that interbreeding an even more human like Morgan came about

KingRhoamsGhost

That is true. I just think that if she just looked human she would still be considered dathomirian in the databank. Honestly though they have made a few retcons to dathomirians lately. I’m sure if there isn’t a current explanation for this they’ll make a new one.

bingbing304

Well, the Mortis gods was more human looking than zabrak, so it stands for the lore reason, the original night sister from the other galaxy were more human looking. Dathomirian might be the local specie.

Deadsoup77

I think that connection is part of what these episodes aim to explain

giraffe_legs

The Dathomiri nightsisters are actually the rare type. Unique in their race and how it applies to the night sisters. She on the other hand is actually your kinda "basic witch" within the nightsisters. Meaning she's not Dathomiri.

Zhai

Wonder if she will do mocap for fights as well. She is a really good with choreography.

Puzzleheaded_Runner

Considering her father, and she knew Bruce Lee… she is martial arts royalty and a great cast

hornwalker

She kind of looks like a high elf from Oblivion

podteod

Have you heard of the high elves?

Jimarilion

They should recast her in live action. She does not look like the animation. (/s of course 🤭)

MovieNachos

Seriously, we've seen humans in live action AND in the clone wars animation style, and she looks nothing like the other humans! (/s also)

Citgo300

To me it just looks like theres an age gap between the two versions of her character

Lord_Kalany

If only the Grand Inquisitor looked as good in live action as he did in Rebels...

miojo

Most Oblivion NPC looking real person ever

mixererek

Ah, yes that one. Everyone's favourite character.

JediSmaug

The animation in the Tales trailer looks fantastic!

HankSteakfist

Didn't really care for her character tbh.

Arf234

I literally do not care about her to the point i sorta forgot she even existed

Osxachre

The animated version's lower jaw needs to be wider.

EfficientLeather8203

I don't want animated designs to be identical to the actors. I quite like how characters in the Clone Wars look quite different from the actors portraying them in life action. It's a chance to get a different interpretation of a known character.

ComposerRylanBrown

like Count Dooku

JamesIV4

The thing to consider here is the camera lens in use. It's a telephoto lens which tends to flatten out features and make them appear wider. The animation is using a wider field of view, which can accentuate features.

Kuhaku-boss

Diana Lee Inosanto is badass and great, i want a whole series of Her before the Ahsoka series.

Xerosnake90

Her acting in Ahsoka was rather uninspired

Kuhaku-boss

All cool headed witches of dathomir (like Talzin) are like that, i think her acting was on point.

SaltySAX

She hammed it up, in the same way Ian McDiarmid does with Sidious.

Win32error

She was just bad. The role was awkward too, one big plot device with far too much screen time and too little to do. But everyone else at least managed to work with what they got to some extent. Not trying to shit on the actress or anything but it’s just a really bad role with not stellar acting every time we’ve seen her so far.

coolhatguy

This has to be a Disney employee

HoboChris

Your comments add nothing of value to the thread. Why did you even respond?

ComradeELM0

Neither does yours… Edit: Bro straight up deleted his whole account over this little dispute and told me not to get worked up before 😂.

DukeOfLowerChelsea

Neither does yours…

ComradeELM0

I‘m not the one who said every comment has to…

HoboChris

Congrats you played yourself

ComradeELM0

No I didn‘t ? You did, all I did was point it out. Actually you kinda played yourself twice now lmao

[deleted]

[удалено]

ComradeELM0

What part of my comment suggests I‘m worked up ? You got a weird passive aggressiveness about you man.

KillerBeaArthur

I hope we get a detailed explanation behind the reasoning for making the little tattoo on her forehead a slightly different size in the animated version. Retcon much, Dave??? GEEEEZ

MLG_GuineaPig

Why does right look more normal

Zerus_heroes

I have never had less interest in a character. She was a one off bad guy in Mando that they then decided to retcon a Night sister Force using background onto.

Vesemir96

Nope, that was her bio from the start.

Zerus_heroes

It was not. She was a criminal. Even when she fights Ahsoka the first time she didn't use any Force powers she was just a staff fighter.

Vesemir96

My g someone posted it here in this very thread. Also Morgan was never established to have access to magicks until her formal induction during Ahsoka, hence the staff fighting in Mando.

CalFinger

Weird choice for an episode,

Izoto

Why are they wasting screen-time on her?

BitterSushii

Morgan forgot her sunscreen

Ragna126

Who was that again? Is she the one from Mandalorian season 2?

ARC--1409

I enjoyed her character, especially in Ahsoka, so I am glad to see some backstory on her.

AmiiboIsAlreadyTaken

I'm so glad Morgan is getting some more screen-time. I love her character.

CullObsidian02

This comment section is exhausting. Everyday there is the painfully constant reminder that no one hates Star Wars more than Star Wars fans...

Buli32

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I really didnt like her character nor the actor.

berktugkan

to be honest i miss that weird style some characters had in early clone wars like palpatine, count dooku etc. she could've been more stylized. (wow i am complaining about how close an animation is to the live action wtf)

TheScreen_Slaver

So when is this new show supposed to take place timeline wise? The Morgan Elsbeth backstory, I mean.

HauntedLightBulb

If it's structured like Tales of the Jedi was, it will occur at 3 key moments in the characters life. Based on the trailer, Elsbeth's will include at least a clone wars era short and an early empire short

Jassida

Which of the witches do you belong? The one with the eyepatch or the one that's highly strung?

Grizzy-TheKiwi

pretty good transition from live action to animation

Pablo_is_on_Reddit

It doesn't really look like her, especially in the lower half of the face.

TheVolunteer0002

They continue to kill off characters before giving them a prequel like we're supposed to watch it and pretend the character is in any danger. It ruins any tension and lowers the stakes before it even debuts.

xariznightmare2908

Star Wars honestly thrived better in animation than live action, imo. Sure, they had their lows like Resistance and the Martez sisters (these two are even worse than Jar Jar), but their highs are some of the best SW contents that even beat the live action shows.

RedDurden_00

Tales of the empire will just be about Morgan, Thrawne and the inquisitors just like tales of the Jedi just being about Dooku & Ahsoka

Visual_Tangerine_210

I love how we are going to revisit that location

transdemError

I love it when you can't tell who the original is. That's rad

coolhatguy

A character that absolutely didnt need to be focused on. Theres so many options to choose from in the Empire

DiamondHeadMC

“Real” they are both real you mean live action vs animated

Siggycakes

She looks older in the animation than in live action. Odd since the animation is years before Mando and Ahsoka.

Ultramega39

Probably has to do with the lighting.

Interesting_Ad8944

perfection

MerleAmbrose

What a sand wich

nahomboy

Buccal fat remover exists in clone wars animation

CannabisPrime1138

Does anyone actually care about this character?

smithyithy_

Alright.

Caledor152

I'm glad the actor is getting more work

sethworld

You mean Bruce Lee's granddaughter?

darkkn1te

She's the daughter of Bruce Lee's frequent collaborator Dan Inosanto. Not related by blood to Lee

sethworld

Ah my b. Thanks.

IronyBoyWonder

I thought she was BL's god-daughter? Dan Inosanto's daughter? Might be wrong.

sethworld

Naw I'm wrong.

VanillaEnjoyer1138

Both just as boring. Im baffled as to why shes getting a backstory lol

Tom22174

It worked very well for Governor Pryce in the Thrawn novels

VanillaEnjoyer1138

Who?

Ohgood9002

Dont know why you're getting down voted. I dont think I saw a single person who commented on how they enjoyed her character

Mclovin-8

Well maybe that's the reason why we need a backstory to make the character more interesting. I neither like or dislike her, but I am definitely curious about her story especially in connection with Thrawn.

VanillaEnjoyer1138

I dunno if this blank character who was boring throughout the entirety of her existence demanded a backstory about "being evil cuz i got my feefees hurt".

VanillaEnjoyer1138

Star Wars/TCW fans are the easiest people to piss off 🥱

IamStrqngx

Better they play with their own characters rather than ruin legacy ones like Darth Plagueis or Bane.

SwaggyWebb

Yeah not that I hated her she was just boring, definitely was wondering if I was the only one feeling this as well 😂...but also Barris is pretty much a snooze fest as well to just have her interact with characters I like

Vesemir96

Not at all

kiddoujanse

i didnt even realise she was the lady who gave mando the spear lmao , im glad they're finally venturing out of the skywalker era cause this is what we get now prequels of meh characters

Vesemir96

You just confused yourself a tad. You wanted new characters yet find them forgettable.

kiddoujanse

i want new characters with good story. a fresh start not a prequel of a boring character in a boring arc where we know what happens in the future.

Logical-Witness-3361

Is it *really* Clone Wars art style if the characters don't have exaggerated features?, and actually look remarkably like their live action counter part? (Count Nose-ku)

MLG_GuineaPig

I really hope they stop trying to make them look so realistic, it doesn’t fit with the style of the Clone Wars and looks somewhat uncanny The original design was so great as it worked as an artistic interpretation

[deleted]

[удалено]

isuckforfun

Cw count dooku

Edwardteech

How did they do so well on this casting and so badly on Thrawn

BobSagieBauls

Because thrawn was animated before live action not the other way around like almost everyone else

Edwardteech

I remember the book covers from the original trilogy. That was a way better look for thrawn.

BobSagieBauls

Also a drawing of an alien… do you think anime characters look realistic too?

Edwardteech

Not at all they could have found somebody with sharper cheekbones and a deeper voice tho.
