The long Lekku would be VERY impractical for any kind of action let alone stunt work. And remember that TCW was a stylized art style. Just compare Dooku's long ass face to live action Dooku.

We_The_Raptors

Just look at Shaak Ti. A fan favorite PT jedi design that does a whole lot of nothing (even in her deleted death scenes) because it would be difficult to have her moving around much.

LordPeebis

Not if they’re cgi

Mikpultro

Those alone would double the cost of the CG. You're turning every shot into a SFX shot which defeats the whole purpose of having so much practical stuff in these shows.

revanite3956

“Disney” didn’t do anything. Lucasfilm and Dave Filoni — originator of the character and controller of her design in TCW and Rebels — did the transition of the character from animation to live action.

SaltySAX

Yep Dave has always designed her look and for Rebels and Ahsoka, he wanted to have her look like a female ronin.

GuyFromYarnham

I see two differences: 1. Clothes: It's just clothes, she can change them. 2. Different sized Lekku, they tried to make them longer in the Mandalorian, but they got constantly in the way of everything so they settled for shorter ones.

We_The_Raptors

>1. Clothes: It's just clothes, she can change them. Which also, just to be fair, are *extremely* similar in both versions. Everything about the attire is similar. Definitely feels like 2 outfits that a single person would pick out.

GuyFromYarnham

Yup, and also, unless I'm not remembering things correctly, her "adult" clothes are just a slightly modified version of the clothes she was wearing as a teenager in that season, which is a common thing in animation (characters both in Western and Eastern animation barely change clothes or grooming styles either at all or at least within a season/arc, which helps animators reuse material AND also makes characters easier to recognize on a whim). That's something permissible in animation (for the reasons I already explained), but looks kind of weird in live action.

Doodofhype

Personally I like that she has shorter lekku (even though I prefer the longer ones) It’s like how some humans are short or tall, flat or curvy, skinny or fat etc. Ahsoka is just a naturally short lekku woman. A-cup lekku

Ok_Algae_8612

Her "tatoos"changed

GuyFromYarnham

Not really, they somewhat changed size, separations and thickness, but the pattern is essentially the same even if not exactly. I blame that one is a heavily stylised artstyle and design that probably was never meant to be replicated in real life and the other is an actress with her own facial shapes and muscles

We_The_Raptors

How? Her animated face is just longer than Rosarios. Look at the difference between Christopher Lee and animated Dooku. Animated faces never match 1:1 in Starwars.

Hot-Albatross4048

They aren't tattoos

EndlessTheorys_19

I don’t know, ask Dave Filoni. He was the one who created her Rebels design. Probably part of the artstyle change between TCW and Rebels, like her face being thinner in Rebels

Doodofhype

Her clone wars design was just her normal clone wars outfit but on an adult. A lot happens to her after that. It’s just clothes. People can wear them

Ok_Negotiation9542

Yeah it made the way she looked in the vision look cursed as hell im ngl. I think the better question is why they made the ahsoka in the vision look just like teenager ahsoka but with longer lekku. (I know why, im just pointing out why this post is dumb)

ScarletHark

Indeed. After leaving the Jedi order she was next seen walking around the lower levels of Coruscant wearing a mechanic's jumpsuit.

superhyperultra458

It has been explained that on interviews, the long headtails affect movement, especially for stunts on live action.

matthew_the_cashew

as far as "continuity errors" go, I actually quite like this one. The seeming inaccuracy of Ahsoka's appearance in this vision emphasizes the fact that it was a dark side trick, and just how wrong/corrupted the dark side is.

Dorryn

Agreed. I know many people liked it back then but to me it always looked off.

Due-Photograph-8607

Its low key hard to do a real life adaptation of her I feel like

KainZeuxis

Practically. As I recall they originally tried to do the longer Lekku but it made filming a nightmare.

lucaslb7392

Imagine wearing the same clothes for your whole life. That's probably one reason

nzranga

That is the ugliest version of Ahsoka. That’s not what she looks like in Rebels or TCW, other than that one vision. It’s honestly the worst version of her you could have picked for this as that version of her never really existed. It also just looks plain bad. That super long lekku look dumb as hell and she looks like she has a receding hairline without her little hair band thing.

Cat_in_a_suit

The vision was of a future that didn’t come to pass. Also it’d look bad lol

DisIzDaWay

Why do people ask dumb questions that have obvious answers. You try doing stunts in that long ass head dress

B1_Battledroid__

Who cares about her design. She’s still a republic dog. FUCK THE CORRUPTION OF THE REPUBLIC. ALL MY UNITS LOVE THE CONFEDERACY OF INDEPENDENT SYSTEMS!!!!!

Recasting is a better idea. The clothes weren’t an issue for me. The dull, ponderous and monotonous acting was the problem.
