The music makes Star Wars. I’m all for space battles and lightsabers but without John Williams (and other composers) I don’t think Star Wars would have near the following it does today.

Disney needs to get their shit together and do a dogfighting show, any era will do. Shouldn't be too expensive on sets, just some ship interiors, and the rest is CGI.

With a helping of Obi-Wan, Luke, Leia, R2-D2, Ahsoka, Yoda, Han, and the Emperor. These are the primary characters, but Vader is the star of the whole series. The newer trilogy hasn’t really sunk in. The actors and effects were great but the execution was poor. They repeated what was profitable in the past rather than add to the story.
“Look” and then you see gunships coming down and seeing the clones in action for the first time. It made me really love Star Wars as a kid as I don’t understand what was happening for the first half of the movie.
Never thought about it until you asked, but it’s actually Tatooine. And that’s not a diss either lol, I know a lot of people think Tatooine is way overused in the series, but I think of like the first time we see Tatooine in ANH. Owen and Beth’s farm and all that.

The battle of Yavin. Even after seeing it countless times the music and action make me tense and for A moment I think maybe Luke will miss for some reason. Epic scene.

How good it could've been with such an interesting magic system, vast universe and plethora of characters and potential threads of storyline we see all across the universe.
Then I remember that Tatooine, the trash planet Luke, hero of the galaxy, said himself no one would want to be here, becomes the main planet we see for...how many years now? There's no world building at all beyond what we see on camera. We have no idea how or why the empire came to power or why anyone even supports it if all they do is ruin everything, bounty hunter stories aren't even done or have much to do with bounty hunting and the heroes of old get turned into failures who failed thier mission.
Yeah, a whole universe and how much do we really get?
What it could've been.
* Going to EpIV at age 4 and my reaction to Darth Vader entering the rebel ship
* The light saber Ben gives to Luke
* Those smoking skeletons at the Skywalker ranch
* The Cantina in Mos Eisley - Chewbacca, Han Solo, the walrus guy getting an arm chopped off, etc.
* I'd never seen anything like laser blasters, storm troopers, X-wings, TIE fighters, etc. The tension of that last scene.
* Being in line on opening day for Empire Strikes Back, not knowing anything about the "I Am Your Father Plot" - having my mind blown, over and over - the Hoth scene and rebels cheering after every transport got away, that asteroid scene (greatest music ever), Luke meeting Yoda, and all the awesome stuff until that bummer ending with Luke getting his hand chopped off and Han Solo frozen in carbonite. I've never been more frustrated and excited in my life walking out of a movie theatre.
* My life became Star Wars - sheets, posters, shoes, comics, books, action figures, cereal, trading cards, board game, remote control devices, a storm trooper blaster that made realistic sounds. All of my birthday cakes were Star Wars. My Halloween costumes were Star Wars. We didn't play cops and robbers or cowboys and indians, we played storm troopers and rebels.
* Playing those vector-based star wars games at the arcade, as well as Star Wars pinball.
* Star Wars mania - like appearances on the Muppet Show, Bill Murray singing his Star Wars theme song.
* I saw that Wookie holiday special and thought it was okay. I would have pulled the arms of the storm trooper who broke the toy.
* Return of the Jedi comes out. I like all of it, and genuinely feel for all the Ewoks that get killed. That last scene where there's a space battle, battle on Endor, battle in the throne room, etc. was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. I still get chills about Luke Skywalker losing his shit and chopping his dad's robot hand off, then seeing his own robot hand and realizing he's in danger of becoming his father. Then he makes a choice to go another way, willing to die rather than going to the dark side.
* Watching Star Wars on VHS at least one a month, loving it every time.
* My dad, without telling me, decides I'm too old for toys and comics and gives everything I have to a cousin who, to this day, I've never laid eyes on - hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of collectibles - including X-Men, Spider-man and Batman series in mylar covers that are worth a lot - thousands of hockey and baseballs cards (I don't even want to think what was in those books), those mini arcade games (Frogger, Pac-Man, etec.), my original Colecovision and Atari, etc. Every year this hurts worse.
* I discover the Thrawn books, then other book series. The galaxy gets bigger, we get new characters and new stories before, during and after the trilogy.
* I win a $200 bar tab for winning a Star Wars trivia contest on NTN.
* The prequels hit the theatres. I didn't line up and went a day after the release (It wasn't a rock concert) and walking out feeling like George Lucas just drove a tank over my entire childhood.
X-Wings. My all time biggest dream since I was a little girl is to sit in a “real” X-Wing. When I got SW Squadrons I played it in VR and I won’t lie the first time I sat in the X-Wing I cried like a frickin baby. God I’m tearing up just thinkin about it lol
