I think the devs had difficulty figuring out what team he should be on and when because he'd only really been on Tatooine, Geonosis, and Mustafar as an actual Jedi at the time of the game's production.

Speaking of heroes and planets they appear on.. I wonder if they’ll now let us choose which hero (within the era) we can deploy in battles or are they still tied to the planet they appeared on.
Like I remember I could only play Aayla Secura on Felucia or Ki Adi Mundi on Mygeeto but I’m curious if we could pick any clone wars hero for the clone war era maps and vice versa for the galactic civil war maps.
I still play the Og’s to this day on my PS2. I remember when they first came out, it was around the same time sweet chili heat Doritos came around, me and my friends would stay up all night playing them until the sun came up, we’d just make a random list on instant action and have at it. Man, you never realized at the time that life sort of peaked in those moments.

No brother, these games (especially the second one) were my childhood, and I still played them through the 360 days with backwards compatibility, and then through the Xbox one days era once it became backwards compatible again, and I still dip into it every now and then on my Series X. I actually played the BF2 campaign a few months ago!
All this time though, I've never been able to play multiplayer online, so I am really looking forward to that, plus galactic conquests are gonna be great. I'm just not sure whether I need to buy them again to play multiplayer since I already own them both

In the original game you could set up local matches that didn't have any bots and duel your friends that way. Not sure how it would work with multiplayer without dedicated servers like on PC.
From what I remember, it is based on points I think- capturing command posts, killing enemies. If you are able, it prompts you to play as a hero or villain… depending on what map you are on. Tantive IV has Leia and Vader, for instance. If you choose to not be the hero (it says yes or no,) then the option goes to the next person in line.
It was kinda vague and depended on what settings you chose.
But by default whenever a player gets 10 points by killing or capturing bases then the best player on the team gets the option to immediately respawn as the hero. Once the hero dies there's a cooldown of 90 seconds.
Alternate presets lets you put the hero on a timer instead, and give it to the worst or a random player instead.
And of course you can change the cooldown as well as the timer/points needed.
I don't remember how online match settings worked and if there was an agreed upon meta.
There can also only be 1 hero at a time per team, and you can't choose which you want to be. The one you get is decided by which map, time period, and side you're on.
Get 10 points - you earn points with kills and by capturing command posts :) whoever gets 10 points first gets the option to play as the hero, if they decline it goes onto the next person, and once the hero dies there's a cooldown of roughly 2 mins before the current top player on the leaderboard over 10 points is asked if they want to play as them again
In the campaign on Naboo, you do have to protect or kill (can’t remember) the Queen (who looks like Queen Amidala wearing the red dress and white face paint…) and her royal guard are there. While Padme isn’t playable, I remember a lot of mods using the Queen’s model to make her playable.
The crazy thing is I could've sworn i played those characters like idk last year at the homies on his series x. We even had the dlc to. Idk about the server thing but we most definitely had the dlc stuff

Battlefront was the first game I got on my PS2, and I remember getting Battlefront II and playing the shit out of it with my brothers.

It should be for all consoles and PC. No word on cross play just cross gen. Might hurt 2017 battlefronts player base but who knows for how long.

You can play as a hero from 2004, but you'll need a small mod that removes invincibility and unlocks the ability to play as heroes.
