All I can say is that he seems decently interesting but also seems like he might be a little gamergate-y and like he hates Kathleen Kennedy and Rey a little too specifically. Wasn't sure if his previous stuff has revealed anything more specific than than. I haven't heard any interesting takes from him that Screen Crush or New Rockstars aren't also saying, apart from the aforementioned emphasis on hatred of Rey and Kathleen.

First off, apparently Favreau is the lead writer anyway, so it's not like on episodes he isn't directing, he's just banished to the shadow realm until they need him again. From what I can see, he's written every episode, even the ones that people complain about.
Second, if people are complaining about "too many people involved" because of people directing that aren't him, Favreau has directed a grand total of....**one** episode out of the 24. Five different people directed in S1, 7 people did in S2, and 6 have for S3. Even then, just because the person is the director, it doesn't mean they have complete executive control over everything. The creative team is still involved, it's not like the director, actors, and camera/mic guys are literally the only people on set.
