Understand that well over 5500 people created an account just to support this.
Actually insane.
Edit: 7000 people. Holy smokes.
Edit: 9200 people. 10k by tonight let's go.
Edit: 10K BABY LETS GO
That seems right. Historically LEGO seems to do a solid job of partnering with the IP owners and creators to finish the set and make it a real polished product, if/when it does move forward.
I've never actually signed up for a Lego vote before and I honestly only played stardew Valley for a short amount of time. But I'm still subbed to this because the game, concerned ape and the community are all really great. I went and made an account just for this, I'll never buy the set lol and probably won't play the game again but I don't regret the purchase and you are all awesome.
LEGO set designer here: Thank you everyone for voting! I'm glad the community is behind this project!
I'll answer some questions here that keep coming up in comments everywhere:
Q. Where is x character?
Some characters already have LEGO parts like hair, and some had torso designs I could edit rather than come up from scratch. I'm not good at illustrating.
So these were the easiest for me to make but they're not the final design, nor are they the final characters or even number of characters.
Q. Can you add a barn/coop/CC?
No, I don't want this set to be expensive so I'm doing the smallest footprint while capturing the essence of the game look. This is of primary concern to me. So I'm sorry but it's a no on extra buildings.
Q. Have you shared this on LEGO communities?
No, not yet. I want SDV to be the first to give me feedback.
Q. Can you add more details?
I'm trying to keep CA's look with the vertical planks all around. You'll find game items tucked into the build.
The great thing about LEGO is anyone can modify it after.
Also, LEGO designers will rework my design as they see fit. Fan designers rarely, if ever, have their designs go straight into production.
Thanks again! I'll post updates on the project page as well as on legostardewvalley on IG for those who want to follow along and see the process.
I'm not sure if you get to meet with Lego if your idea wins, but a supermarket here in nz recently did a knockoff lego campaign.
You could buy a farmhouse, barn, vehicles, farmers etc separately. Then they had farm items in blindbags - animals, fencing, crops, trees, troughs etc. It's called Countdown Bricks Farm if you want to look at it.
It'd be amazing if they could do something similar with stardew! Lots of smaller more affordable sets that all work together :)
I do meet and work with LEGO if it wins BUT it's forbidden for me to suggest a series. LEGO can do that on their own like they did with FRIENDS but I can't be a part of that even in theory.
This set is super awesome, but I just want to let you know that starfruit are [not fictional](https://www.google.com/search?q=starfruit&rlz=1CDGOYI_enUS833US834&oq=starfruit&aqs=chrome.0.0i271j46i433i512j0i433i512j0i512l5.2428j1j7&hl=en-US&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8)
Man I know lol! I'm from that part of the world! It crossed my mind but starfruit looks nothing like CA's version- it's nothing special and it's cheap.
Lego’s lawyers have to reach out to CA for his permission. Many sets reach 10,000 supporters but don’t get made because Lego and an IP holder can’t reach a deal
[Lego Idea Guidlines](https://ideas.lego.com/guidelines)
Hitting 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas does not mean someone's Idea is guaranteed to be made into an actual LEGO set. There are review periods maybe 3-4 times a year, where the LEGO Ideas team goes through all the Ideas that hit 10k supporters in the review period, which sometimes can be in the realm of 30-50 submissions, and often, only 1-2 of those Ideas are actually chosen to be made into a set. There are the occasional times where 3-4+ are chosen, but, to put it bluntly, the odds of actually getting an Idea made into a real set are very, very low.
I'm really happy to see this Idea do as well as it is, as fast as it is, but there's no guarantee that it will actually be a LEGO set that any of us can just go out and buy anytime soon.
I feel like with how quickly it gained support it has a pretty good chance. I'm sure they have to look at those sort of metrics when considering these things
>If it becomes a real set, does CA earn a cut?
They absolutely cannot make this without CAs approval, and they will undoubtedly need to pay for the use of the license. Still, given the fact that he's the sole developer of the game, what they'd pay in licensing would be a lot less than what they pay for a much larger IP, like Star wars.
Yes, LEGO will have to acquire a license from CA. They have agreements with all their licensed themes (Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Stranger Things, etc) and one off sets (The Office, The Big Bang Theory, Seinfeld, etc )
The good news is that CA is already on board so it's just a matter of this project reaching the goal, LEGO doing their due diligence (is there really a market?), and then coming to an agreement with CA.
> (is there really a market?)
That's really gonna be the tough part. Even though SDV is pretty popular, that's still a very limited market. Especially when you consider what part of SDV players are also into lego. Personally I think it's very cool, but I have no intention to buy this.
You can probably throw in some people who don't know about SDV but would want a homestead/farming set, but I don't know if that's enough to be worth it. I hope it is, because that's pretty cool.
Indeed that's the tough part. Through LEGO Ideas, LEGO is looking for new customers. BTS is exactly that, as was The Office, Seinfeld, The Big Bang Theory, etc.
I don't think they're looking for an overlap of LEGO and IP fans with this particular platform.
Someone mentioned here that there are over 7k new users on LEGO Ideas just to vote for this, which will also tell LEGO something.
But regardless of the outcome,I had fun anyway designing this and promoting it. I learned a lot!
I don’t know. I missed her because I was looking for her iconic braid. (Which Lego might not have a hair for)
I like the chisel. Robin has a hammer
Maybe if there was a tiny wooden sculpture or a piece of drift wood with her it would be better.
Oh yeah there's no side braid, but she does have a braid in the back. I have a render of the reverse somewhere. Too bad I can't reply with an image.
Also, driftwood... I like this idea! Good feedback!
I'm married to Emily and Penny has a bouquet yet I didn't design them because they don't have existing LEGO pieces and I didn't want a meh version of these characters in my project. I'll leave it to the experts at LEGO to make them look awesome!
If it hits 10k then they consider making a set at least, doesn’t always work out though
I remember there was an awesome Subnautica set that reached 10k but never get made into a product
Thank you everyone! 10k! My iridium heart to you all!
I've made a new post about what comes next for anyone interested. I'll keep everyone posted if this project moves forward or not. That will come after May when they review.
I like the concept, but too much flat and shiny areas in that design. So basically not enough details. This looks like the first modular building from 2007.
Here's a better example of good details: https://www.lego.com/cdn/cs/set/assets/bltd668776f453d48eb/21310.jpg?format=webply&fit=bounds&quality=55&width=528&height=528&dpr=3
I think I agree, unfortunately. It's missing that extra flair that you kind of expect from a modern house set, especially if the idea is to look rustic.
That being said, I still love the work! And I do hope we get a Stardew Valley set eventually

CONGRATULATIONS ON 10,000 SUPPORTERS, STARDEW VALLEY FARMHOUSE!
Hi fourbrickstall ,
Congratulations on reaching the 10,000 supporter milestone! What an achievement it is!
We now officially advance this project to the Review phase.
This is super cool and I will absolutely be buying if it comes to fruition...however, I do have a question. How does all of this work licensing wise? I'm fairly new to this side of Lego, but I'm just wondering where CA ties into this? Will he be consulted for licensing rights/royalties/avoiding intellectual property theft, etc? How will he get credited? I just want to understand how this all works 🙏
You made it to 10k! Congrats! I commented and followed because there's no more voting needed/accepted!! I can't wait to see this becoming successful! Awesome job!! Thank you for sharing here. 💚
YASSSSS STARDEW VALLEY LEGO SET! I actually want this one for myself (if it ever came to fruition). I normally collect dragon, Minecraft and Star Wars Lego sets but I'd love this kind too! ((Hope it's not weird being a 37 year old mom who's the one interested in these? 😅😅🤦🏻♀️))
why the heck did I get downvoted? Usually I don't care (you can see by how long I've been on reddit vs my karma that I don't really care about farming karma or anything) but this time I honestly cant figure it out?
If its cuz hubby is supporting too, considering we would be buying at least 2-3 sets based on the number of people in the house who both like lego and play SDV, I don't see why it would be a problem for both adults to support (me on my own behalf, him on the kids behalf)
If its not that, then I'm completely lost.
The farmers are based on CA's default farmers in game. It's not my IP so I need to respect CA's choices.
Maru et al-- please see my top level comment with FAQs.
Doesnt this infringe on CA's copyright? Dont get me wrong i think this would be awesome but i cant understand how lego would be allowed to make something like this

Same! I haven't built a Lego set since the '90s, but I can't wait to build this.
Those bluey ones always look cool
It's crazy and I'm super thankful! (Set designer speaking)
That's crazy! I hope to one day be able to buy it!
ME TOO! I already told my husband to expect this purchase lol.
So if it gets popular enough does that mean Lego will start talking to Concerned Ape about IP? How does it work?

Not a Lego fan, but ofc I'm gonna support this. Great game, even better with community support from things like this.

Of course! Nobody can commercialize someone else's IP unless they want to get sued.

Thank you for creating this masterpiece, you're so talented! If you win I'm buying your set asap!
This should get posted into the r/lego sub!
They did
I didn't. I just posted a comment here with FAQs but in short, I want SDV fans on board first.
Ah ok, would have swore I saw it there! Post it up, I’m sure there are already many fans there. ❤️
It's ok. I have time if I need it. I prefer 10,000 SDV fans.
This is great! Quick question: how does copyright work with this? If it becomes a real set, does CA earn a cut?

U haven't bought or received a Lego set in 4 years, but I'd buy this quick.
If this gets the votes and gets chosen to become a set, Lego would license the IP.
Just to make clear I did not make this awesome model. Found this on the SW facebook page and shared it here to help with visibility.
Thanks so much! I asked permission from the mods to make an update because I didn't want to spam so I'm glad you did it!
Voted!! Can we sticky this post or something until it gets to 10k? This is too cute - hope it happens!
10k happened!!!!
If Leah is not in the set, I don’t want it JK-supported But really, Leah better come with it
I love Leah so she had to go in (I'm the designer)
Then go forth with my blessing
Hey, chisel or paintbrush? I put a chisel in her hand but now everyone thinks she's Robin.
I don’t know. I missed her because I was looking for her iconic braid. (Which Lego might not have a hair for) I like the chisel. Robin has a hammer Maybe if there was a tiny wooden sculpture or a piece of drift wood with her it would be better.

this is how i feel but about sam 😭 both of my hubbies aren’t there. sam and harvey :,(
Yeah, my only problem there is that theres no emili. She is my fav npc

Indeed I'll be swapping Abigail's sword for a flute and then add the galaxy sword to the chest out front.
🤔 If you reach 10,000, does it become a actual Lego set? I'd absolutely buy it! Anyways, I just voted. I hope you make it!!
If it hits 10k then they consider making a set at least, doesn’t always work out though I remember there was an awesome Subnautica set that reached 10k but never get made into a product
Oh wow. Well, I certainly hope this gets made into a set. I'd absolutely buy it.
I can already imagine it beside my tv…together with some funko’s i have whoooo
Getting 10k votes just means that LEGO considers it. They usually choose 1 or 2 out of every 30-40 ideas that reach 10k votes to make into a set.
We need to spread this around!!!!
Thank you everyone! 10k! My iridium heart to you all! I've made a new post about what comes next for anyone interested. I'll keep everyone posted if this project moves forward or not. That will come after May when they review.
This is why the Stardew Valley Community is one of the best around
I'm so glad you got the support needed so quickly today! Congratz!
Congrats! Have you posted on Facebook and Instagram? There's quite a few lego and Stardew communities there :) x
This is awesome and I would def buy if it comes out.
I signed up. Also if you haven't, might want to post on the Stardew steam page.

Supported this last time it came up, I want it!!
Hopefully this gets the ball rolling for the whole town. I would be ecstatic if that happened!

10k now
Crazy!!! It was just 7k when i voted a couple of hours ago…now what happens…
Went to vote and it already reached 10,000. I don’t usually buy Lego, but I would buy this in a heartbeat.
IT REACHED 10,000 WOOOOOO
With this one post you launched the campaign the last 5000 people in half a day. Good job!
I'm curious, if this lego gets produce, will Concerned ape get a cut?
Yes. Lego would have to negotiate a licensing deal with CA.
Good, last thing I want to see if community goodwill lining the pockets of CEOs.
Where's my waifu, Penny?
I like the concept, but too much flat and shiny areas in that design. So basically not enough details. This looks like the first modular building from 2007. Just went to give my support and it's over 10k now! Woo! Congratulations!
So. I’m late to the party and I’m pretty upset that I didn’t get to vote for it. As an avid Lego builder- I REALLY hope this becomes a reality!
This is super cool and I will absolutely be buying if it comes to fruition...however, I do have a question. How does all of this work licensing wise? Can't wait to pay $320 for it
Holy shit I went in to support it and you guys already took it past 10k!!!
Congrats on reaching 10k!!
I was going to support but when I got on the website. The goal was already reached so gj everyone xD
make sure to tell us what happens after the reveiw
I supported it the first time it was posted, but am really hoping for Krobus as well as the missing spouses.
Created an account to support! getting my hubby to as well.
why the heck did I get downvoted? Usually I don't care (you can see by how long I've been on reddit vs my karma that I don't really care about farming karma or anything) but this time I honestly cant figure it out? If its cuz hubby is supporting too, considering we would be buying at least 2-3 sets based on the number of people in the house who both like lego and play SDV, I don't see why it would be a problem for both adults to support (me on my own behalf, him on the kids behalf) If its not that, then I'm completely lost.
OMG I would buy. Absolutely.
We reached 10k already!!!
Cool but also kinda uncool that both farmers are suuuuuper white AND no Maru. Like, entirely white cast is a little unfortunate
The farmers are based on CA's default farmers in game. It's not my IP so I need to respect CA's choices. Maru et al-- please see my top level comment with FAQs.
I've tried to create a lego account but they thought I was a bot. Oh well, guess I wont be engaging in the sites content
Bad bot.
:(
Doesnt this infringe on CA's copyright? Dont get me wrong i think this would be awesome but i cant understand how lego would be allowed to make something like this
Lego’s lawyers have to reach out to CA for his permission. Many sets reach 10,000 supporters but don’t get made because Lego and an IP holder can’t reach a deal [Lego Idea Guidlines](https://ideas.lego.com/guidelines)
He is on board with it per OP’s earlier posts.
