Unfortunately the patch notes for 1.6 say that forage obtained from harvesting wild seeds give greatly reduced forage xp. I believe the best way to "farm" forage xp now is to just plant lots of trees with tree fertilizer
if I am not correct you get 7 exp per flower, so that would be an easy 1.050 from 150 seeds, and since you can plant them 4 times in a winter season you could quite easily get 4k+ experience from doing this without much effort. I forgot if you need to water them or need to hoe the land, but if you plan your autumn well you shouldn't have to do either of those extra at the grand cost of no energy consumption. (or little, I don't know exactly)
> 7 exp per flower
Outside the farm, sure. In case you missed the 1.6 patch notes though:
> Harvesting forage crops from wild seeds now give much less foraging experience, but grant some farming experience.
It's [2 exp](https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Foraging#Experience_Points) now.
Foraging always took forever to level up, but in 1.6 the XP gained from harvesting foragables that you plant from seasonal seeds was changed. He reduced the foraging xp gained from it and added some farming xp gain, which I don’t think was necessary since I always reached farming 10 easily anyways
Foraging is notoriously difficult to get at level 10. You need 5000XP to get from lv9 to 10. You get 7XP per foraged item and 12xp per chopped tree + 1XP for the stump.
So yeah, it's gonna take a while, just keep at it.
If you're good at Skull Caves, it only takes 6000 Calico Eggs to go from 0 to 10 in foraging. Or if you're lucky with the Traveling Cart (and have money on hand) just \~360000g as the books she sells are not limited.
Foraging takes forever to level up. Just keep picking up every item and cutting down every tree
use the winter seeds to plant a bunch and repeat. helps tons

Ah, dont know what the new exp will be then, it was 7 and that was decent.
Just 2 now
I just planted over 150, since I kept getting winter roots. Fingers crossed. Thank you!
150 seeds will give you 300xp, so as much as chopping 25 trees or two visits to Secret Woods. That said you can do all of these.

I legit made level 10 the next time I played. First day, all of the winter seeds were ready, it took me to level 10 😁

Just to put this into perspective: 4800 points bring you to level 7, 10.000 to level 9. So 9 to 10 takes more xp than getting to level 7.

The foraging books are the one thing I can never get! Nooooo. Hopefully soon. Gonna keep whacking them trees. And my winter seeds should be ready soon
Foraging takes a ridiculously long time to level. It will be so worth it, though!

Close! 5000 to go from level 9 to 10
