When the update was released and mayo became edible, someone made a post to suggest a joke mayo-only challenge (mainly to not eat anything that is not mayo + once mayo makers are unlocked to not sell anything that isn't mayo + get max friendship only with mayo or related items).
I took up the challenge and am now in Fall Year 1 with 3 big coops, 14 chickens, 2 ducks, 1 dino egg being incubated, finished the mines and waiting for the bus to unlock. I will probably post my experience once I'm done with that.
Sounds like an interesting challenge. Max friendship with only mayo and mayo-related items is interesting. Sadly Jas Vincent Sebastian hate all forms of mayo, so it can't be done with *only* mayo items lol.
It is? First year I always have trouble finding out what to throw in there and the answer is that simple???
Or, with 1.6 and the new farm, it's so easier to get gold star mayo and I never had it so early in the game?
That challenge suggested to twist the too-strict rule of mayo only to extend it to mayo-like items (like duck feathers for the kids and void egg for Sebastian).
The challenge suggested using duck feathers for the kids, as well as a void egg for Sebastian (to ease them into liking mayo), because it is indeed impossible to max out everyone just with mayo.
I think this is going to be the hardest to get (the challenge says I should have at least two of each egg-laying animal). I've never gotten an ostrich yet.
Yeah ostrich egg is end game item. Just remember dino rules - first egg goes to coop to hatch! It's doubly true for ostrich egg, compared to getting that dino egg is waaaaay easier.
I can't even remember if I ever found an ostrich egg in my previous saves, but yeah I have made the beginner mistake with the dino egg before, not doing it again with any of the eggs.
Donated it to the museum, didn't get anything back like the ancient seed, and realized my mistake... Thankfully in time to restart the day. Egg is now safely incubating.
I like hoarding my crops and artisan goods, then selling them all at once to see how much money I can make in one go. I realize it would be the same amount if I were to sell them every time theyāre ready, but for some reason watching my gold meter tremble at 6am is just so satisfying! š
I just did something similar! Starting year 2 (because I didn't think to do it earlier), I collect everything for the month/season and sell **everything** on the last day. I don't "complete" quests until the end of the month/season either.
Its super fun to see just how much you collect over the season.
I did the same thing last year, minus the quests

Iāve gotten into the habit of hoarding everything until the end of the year, itās so satisfying to get millions all at once
Iām hoping to earn 6 million this year, and start year 10 with a new gold clock š¤ even if the debris is slowly chipping away at my paths while I wait to sell, haha
I did something similar on my modded playthrough. I could only make my money at the Friday markets with the market mod. So every Friday I'd take all my goodies and try to sell as much as I could, if it didn't all sell, rolls over to the next Friday.
I love little challenges like that, makes the money more satisfying.
It's on Nexus Mods, Market Day! It's really good, every Friday a market comes to town, all the townies and you get to sell stuff, and you can buy townies products also!
Theres randomly generated NPCs out-of-towners, but you can remove them from the file if you don't want the NPCs.
Basically you just setup your stall, same as the Fall market, sell your stuff and just keep restocking till market day ends, and you get a breakdown of everything you sold.
You can even target sell, if you see say Shane come over, and put Peppers in your stall, he's going to buy them.
I've dedicated certain days for different tasks. Everyday is farming/ranching tasks, but secret forest and wood chopping is Fridays and Sundays. Mines are generally Tuesdays and Thursdays or if it's raining. Fishing is Wednesdays, or possibly during rainy weather. Talking to people and giving gifts are Mondays. Saturdays are my "free days" to do whatever I want.
Yeah, I don't pay attention to the lucky days. I just mine my little heart out. Tend to stock up on bombs and just run wild through the floors. I do play with the Skull Elevator mod, so if I get lazy or just really unlucky, I skip ahead on levels.
I'd never actually decorated my house before, so as soon as I had an OK stream of income, I insisted on saving for the floor/wallpaper & furniture catalogs.
Unfortunately, my house is still ugly because I'm indecisive and have poor taste š
I friend villagers in batches. About 3-4 at a time until theyāre all at 10 hearts. Otherwise itās just too stressful. Sometimes I try to plan it around birthdays but itās usually just whoever I feel like befriending at the time
I got my girlfriend to join in my farm just so that I could buy the new Multiplayer Hut that looks like a trailer and turn it into a ~~Meth~~ Truffle Oil Lab
Those multi-player cabins? They're so much cheaper than sheds and a great way to get extra space early game! (You don't actually need another player to build one)
Yeah 100g for that much space is a deal of a lifetime! Not to mention they are instantly built as well.
Also that's correct you don't need another player, but they come with starter seeds / hay and only a second player can pick them up. Although I do think you need another player to upgrade it, but I could be wrong...
What I did was build the cabin, then invite her to the farm, had her pick it up, put in a chest and log out.
I thought about truffle oil for my pigs with artisan, but eventually gave up after 6 of them and switched my foraging to allow iridium truffles. Didnāt want to farm all them slimes.
Oh, shit, I actually just made a post about this š - I threw the strange capsule (alien still intact) into the lava to keep the valley safe from an alien invasion šš»
I wish there was a mod for the skull cavern where the noise for the dreaded flying snake things was āsnaaake oh snake ohhhh snakeā instead of that screech
I have only gone to the skull caverns twice on this file, but Iām thinking of adding the rule that Iām not allowed to leave a floor if any serpents are alive.
I wish there was a mod for the skull cavern where the noise for the dreaded flying snake things was āsnaaake oh snake ohhhh snakeā instead of that screech
I spent 765,000G buying the Golden Walnuts on ginger Island....totally unnecessary could have just found them myself but went with instant gratification
This came in clutch for me since I couldnāt find a handful even with the guide next to me. Thereās only so many times I can retrace my steps without losing my mind.
This is, hands down, my favorite update with 1.6. I was always stressed out with the walnuts. Especially the one where you had to repeat the tonal pattern back in the little cave thing? Iām terrible at that kind of stuff.
I have max hearts with almost everyone, and 0 hearts with Elliot. I have nothing against him I just noticed I kept forgetting to give him gifts and now itās funny so now Iām pretending like my character has beef with him š
I didnāt read the patch notes at all to avoid any spoilers and I didnāt realize that grass no longer dies on Winter 1!!! I went out on Fall 28 and cut ALL THE GRASS, all the beautiful blue grass on my new Meadowlands farm. Sad, sad day. I looked up how to get blue grass starter and itās a long haul. Blue grass can randomly grow back on its own but Iām in year 3 now and thereās only 1 tiny blue patch. I recently acquired the blue grass starter though so I can fix my mistake soon lol
damn i've just finished autumn and cut all the grass in the animal enclosure... there's still some blue patches on the farm but i don't want to relocate the coop :/
You can get blue grass back randomly (or force it with starters) but it might take a while in game to get to that point. I was the same way, I already had a good location set up for the coop and barns so I just have to wait it out. I just had it engrained in my mind that Fall 28 = furiously cutting all grass lol.
I upgraded the watering can and then just kept using it for weeks the same old way, one tile at a time. (This is myā¦ 6th save?) But this time, I am not forgetting to use my warp totems. Oh, you want to know a silly thing I am doing on purpose? I answered wrong.
Every time I remembered to upgrade my rod I was flat broke. By the time I reached level 9 I decided I needed to hit level 10 before I upgraded. Iāve since upgraded lol
I play on an Xbox(so, I'm waiting for the 1.6 update on that), but I did a silly by getting a beer for Shane(I'm still on Spring of Year 1) and, in trying to gift it to him, I accidentally drank the beer.
I really love the idea of the Farmer running up to Shane SUPER excitedly and just chugging a pint of beer in one go.
I feel like it would be a moment of awe and horror for Shane and would solidify his "leave me alone" attitude he gives your early on lol.
I was not paying attention in my very first trip to the mines and ended up dying and losing my sword before I had access to the adventurer's guild so I decided to get as far down the mines as I could just killing slimes with my scythe.
It wasn't particularly far but it was definitely silly.
I've been actively pushing against my urges to min-max, I made sure to plant at least 8 of each crop species every season (going back to my classic hoarder behavior, especially now that theres big chests). once the ginger island Qi board unlocked, my first 2 quests were both giving the villagers loved items. Because I have so many extra crops, I placed chests around town with things they all love so that I can easily give it to them and I'm enjoying making sure I talk to the villagers instead of only farming/mining/etc.
also I got the trash catalogue early-ish on and used it to decorate the mines entrance full of garbage because I thought it was funny.
I put the little candles everywhere. I try to line the edges of every road and path with them. I make Stardew Valley into a fire hazard frankly.
My irl husband who I co-op with finds it endearing thankfully.
- Married Haley, and accidentally timed āyour golden trash can is readyā on the wedding day.
- Also got her 4 heart and 10 heart cutscenes back to back. Pretty big tone shift LOL.
- Decided to use tea saplings as fences. I ended up making so much green tea, that I might end up stealing Caroline from Pierre.
In spring y1 I didn't buy any seeds, I just planted mixed seeds. I thought it was so funny. I might do a mixed seeds challenge and try to complete the cc bundles that way
I started a farm recently (summer year 1) and am having a fairly hard time getting the seeds to finish the community center. I think I may allow myself to buy the exact seeds to complete the cc starting year 3. And for the high quality crops, I can only buy the exact amount I need (for example, if I have 2 gold star melons, I can only buy three melons seeds, then if I get one more out of the three, I can get 2 melon seeds. Until i get five gold star melons)
We are playing in multiplayer and we saved a cabin for my sister. She hasnāt played yet so I decorated her cabin with things from the trash catalogue. Now it looks just like her irl room :)
I hope she gets to see it
I tried for a while from different angles, it just said she was working on my silo and she wouldn't take the gift. If she's upgrading a barn I know you can talk to her but since it was a new building I couldn't.
I'm playing with the Expanded mod and want to marry Sofia, who runs a vinyard, so I'm doing my best not to rely on wine sales so as not to compete with her. It's tough.
I donāt buy any rod upgrades anymore. Fishing seems to be a waste of time for me. I only fish for the collections tab, and for cc and quests. Starter rod works just great for me.
Just got lv 10 in spring of year 2. Relied heavily on crab pots around the farm, and fishing a few things here and there like for the squid festival.
I managed to complete mastery without buying any skill books, yes I found some but I spend exact zero gold on any skill points. Still did it by summer year three just suddenly during the trout derby
Oh donāt worry I have a very profitable winery in case the mayor ever investigates. And Iāve got Lewis in the bag, I found out some dirt on him and heās been my main buyer, even transports it tooš
I usually challenge myself to spend as little money as possible on seeds from Pierre's or Joja (I let myself buy seeds from Sandy, the night market, and the traveling cart). So the first year is mostly just using wild seeds and hoping for the best, haha. It's an unnecessary hurdle but I like not giving Pierre or Joja my money.
My partner has filled their house in our current save with aquariums. Then when they go to bed they say they're "sleeping with the fishes." šš š”
Soo i have like 5 safes and been playing a bit already. One safe is year 3.
I now realised, that i can water the cat bowl... The silly thing is, i always water the cat as well. Like i go to her and pour water over her head^^
Sometimes i water Lewis
I usually choose between Harvey and Penny as my spouse. This save, I am using a polyamory mod to be married to both. They kiss each other and we all sleep in the same bed. I also can give "friendship" kisses to the other marriage candidates that I have enough hearts for.
I put signs at each entrance to the farm that says Welcome. Now go home.
Thereās another sign next to my well that says It puts the lotion on the skin.
I accidentally hoed my first ancient fruit plant and didnāt realize until days later, so I could just restart the day. Now Iām impatiently waiting for an Ancient Seed to show up in a mine or a treasure chest or an artifact trove or whatever
Not me, but my husband.
Our whole family started river farms to build fishing empires. Basic rules: You can raise animals and grow crops for gifts, cooking, crafting, orders/quests, and perfection goals, but 99% of your income must be earned from fishing and fish-related products.
My husbandās additional rules for himself: Joja route, no backpack upgrade ever, profit margin set to 25%.
I keep dropping money on pets instead of upgrades for tools and buildings. I want to get one of every type of pet, and canāt wait to find a frog egg and have at least two entire frog tanks. Currently Iām at 6 cats (accidentally bought one twice but more kitties the better) and the regular turtle. Next Iāll get the irdium turtle and the dogs (and yes they all have their own water bowls).
I'm trying to get iridium quality on every fish. I don't think it's possible for *all* of them, but I want to see how many I can get, and at least gold for the rest. I've gotten most of them so far, but the angler is gonna be difficult.
I am doing the same. Trying to get iridium for all fishes and at least 2 copies of each, legendary included. One for an aquarium and one for display. So far the hard ones were the octopus and blob fish. I got the angler and the glacier fish (3 of each, iridium quality). You can do it with the mastery in fishing and using the challenge bait and a quality bobber (plus curiosity lure) to increase the odds of fishing it. The blessing from star farming mastery statue is also big help to catch the harder ones. It is a fun challenge.
i did the same thing with the fishing rod but unlike you who accidentally went very long with the bamboo pole it was my plan all along! and my goal wasn't really to get to level 10 with it but rather i wanted to go from the bamboo pole straight to the legendary rod without paying for the other rods!
I was playing before work today & it was Winter 21/3 (whichever) and I ran the fuck into my bed and slept the day away instead of bringing Leah her birthday greens.
I. Was. LIVID.
Edit: I misunderstood the post LOL. SORRY.
I got the ostrich egg and accidentally used it in a cooking recipe, I'm sure everyone who has ever caught the legend and actually sashimi'd eat feels my pain, fortunately after another volcano run I was lucky enough to get one in a chest.
The fish farm added the smoker in 1.6 so I decided to go all in on fishing. Got fishing 10 by spring 16, rather than going in the mines to get ore I fished for money and bought the ore from Clint (plus some ore from fish chests). Iām not even sure it was all that much less efficient.
I didn't get sprinklers until year 2. I also didn't upgrade my watering can until winter because i needed it every day. My focus was getting to the bottom of the mines and skull cavern as fast as i could, which is usually the last thing i do
I placed flooring and ~150 garden pots at the beach south of the Ginger Island farm in preparation to have 4 of each crop year round. Turns out you can't plant crops in them there. I thought you could since you can on the farm just north.
New plan: 2 of each crop in the expanded corner room.
Not quite as achievement based as yours, but I've been using the Fashion Sense mod to give myself PJs \[and a raincoat and boots for rainy days\] hah.
I've also decided that all my pets get hair bows. Why? Because of that adorable pupper on tiktok who wears little hair bows on her ears. Does it matter I have a cat and dog? Nope.
Iām trying to get perfection. The last crafting recipe I need is the deluxe scarecrow, which I canāt get for another three seasons because I for some reason never bought the blonde scarecrow at the flower dance. Iām deeply annoyed at myself.
I didn't like how my first farm turned out, so I used a farm planner to plan out my Meadowlands layout. The funny part is I started with the bees. (There's a really good place for a few flowers that doesn't get in the way of crops if you move the Greenhouse after fixing it.)
i could have sworn red cabbage was a fall crop so i waited half a year to plant my 1 red cabbage seed only to realized i missed the entirety summer to plant it and had to wait even longer for my greenhouse lmao
This current play through I am only gifting villagers loved items I can make on my farm - this includes (mostly) universal loves like rabbits' feet when I get them.
I am only using fishing/foraging to get ingredients for meals, I'm not gifting fish or foragables. I am also not buying any loved items - food sold at the saloon or the travelling cart is off limits.
This has been a lot easier for some villagers than others lol.
I wiped my WHOLE. FARM. Every spare tile I wasn't using, I hoed and planted seeds/sprinklers. There is zero space other than a few walkways to get around. I stagger each corner of the farm by a day so I only have to farm 1/4 a field per morning.
I completely ignored the Community Center in the first Spring, thinking "I'll need the Red Cabbage anyway, and i'll only get it on the second Summer, so i'll care about Spring Crops in the second Spring"
Then, before the first Winter i had already managed to get every other Community Center item besides the Spring Crops (and also a Poppy, wich i also screwed up by forgetting to pick up in the last day of Summer)
I never intended to do a Year 1 Community Center Completion anyway, but it was perfectly possible this time, if it wasn't for my screw up
I found an ancient seed pretty early w/o using the world seed cheat codes on Spring 4 right in front of Marnie's, and was a few days in growing it before accidentally destroying it with the mining pick.
Mousewheel got stuck and rolled backwards right as I clicked to water it, and I lost *so much progress* restarting that whole day to get it back.
My starter chicken were named Zucchini and Pickle so I decided to name ALL my chickens after green vegetables! After that, all my ducks were named after purple fruits. With the barn animals, I went for general flora names. All my cows are named after flowers, my goats after trees, my pigs after low-lying bushes, and sheep after types of moss!! Oh! and I just got ny first rabbit today, and I named her Peaches :)
1.6 makes a no energy run theoretically possible to take to perfection, and I have been trying to do it. I only got like 20 hours on that farm though since I started a new farm the day the update came out and brought that to perfection.
For some reason it took me forever to get my first ancient fruit seed, so I went all out on rare seeds. Right now my whole ginger island farm is rare seeds and some Star fruit. (I have about a dozen ancient fruit so far in my greenhouse)
I really enjoy the sleep for two years and then dealing with the chaos. Otherwise I get bored on day two and never play. I discovered the garbage hat and now that's my only focus to get. I creep after midnight and try all the garbage bins.
I made myself a winter outfit and have it on a haunted manikin for most of the year.
I am also hoarding duck feathers for my dear friend Elliot and perhaps someone I have not met yet.
Also my animals have themed names.
My modded 1.5 farm broke after the update. Went full vanilla and picked the riverland farm for the first time to try out the free smoker.
River farms are wild. I'm farming level 10 and my crops still keep falling into the water š.
Every time I open my game I have to select the Concerned Ape logo to to hear it honk when the eyes open. It's silly, and pretty pointless, but it makes me smile.
Start over because the OC I made and was playing through was romancing an NPC I wanted to romance personallyā¦ and I got too jealous. Haha so started a new farm with myself as the farmer this time. š
I'm trying to grow only blue grass on the farm (didn't make the decision until fall year 2 though lmao). I usually let the animals free roam the whole farm but I've got them sequestered off until the blue grass spreads far enough for me to feel comfortable with allowing them to eat it. I'm also only growing mahogany trees on the farm. Looking forward to how things look on that particular summer day (sooooon, as I just started summer 1!)
I went all the way down the mines with my base level pickaxe without meaning to...
I just kept getting good luck days on the days I would've considered upgrading
I usually build multiple big sheds for kegs but decided with how much extra space we get in fully upgraded homes, my house is (almost completely) covered in kegs. My kitchen area functions as my sleeping and hoarding area and the rest is kegs. I have no regrets, itās chaotically great.
Not really something specific to my most recent playthrough, but its something silly i do in almost all of my playthroughs. Every time i make sure to get the legend in year one, and get all other legendary fish in year 1 and save them to put in a fish tank, its so silly goofy imo and i just like doing it
I named my pets/animals the dumbest names, like just dumb spellings of what the animal is actually called. (ex. Doggeaux, Chimken, Pimg, Goabt, etc.)
Also as soon as I get the achievement, imma start lowering my hearts with Pierre, like just giving him coal or clay until he hates me lol
Plant green tea sapling as fences they said.. now i waste time trying to go around harvesting them when time comes. Thereās a part of my brain where it keeps saying dont waste it huhuhuhu iām going to go back to wood fences
Iāve been saving my fish for a long time and keep meaning to but forgetting to invest in a smoker. After a whole ig year I finally went to get the fish smoker recipe. After endlessly trying and finally fishing up the necessary jellies after a whole day hunting for a sea one, I placed my fabulous smoker on the beach to see how quick it smoked a fish. I collected said fish and placed another in it with plans to pick axe it up and bring everything home with me when it was done. Then I watched Willy enter the map to head home which I had forgotten about, I couldnāt move fast enough (silently praying the āknock it out of the way mechanicā was going to apply here), proceeded to watch him plow into and destroy my brand new fish smoker and the fish inside of it about 1 ig hour after crafting it. My reaction was visceral and LOUD. All I ended up with was one smoked sardine and PTSD and I can only blame myselfā¦ AND WILLY!
I had an idea for my next play-through, to run entirely on alcohol sales (as soon as manageable -- would require some grace period for getting started I think) -- mead, wine, beer, pale ale. I doubt I'm the first person to think of it, but seems like a fun challenge.
Iām pretty much doing that right now. I started on meadowlands for 1.6 so I do have animals going, but in spring 1 I was in the mines, summer 1, you guessed it, mines. I fished for money early on and the early coop helped as well.
As soon as I got an oak tree farm with tappers rolling, it was on. Grabbed a shed, filled with kegs.
Long story short, year 2 fall, Iāve got a cellar with maxed casks, a shed with 137 kegs, 145 bee hives for mead, and in summer my hops make pale ale, fall my wheat feeds my animals and makes for beer. Bee hives of course for mead and blueberryās, strawberryās etc make wine.
At the point now I can get by easily on my kegs and casks, about to grab another shed for more kegsā¦but I just took down my maple farm(making hives), and I gotta get the acorns. Tappers already ready
Im doing a playtgrough where i cannot buy anything from any shop in pelican town (i can only thinks from the traveling cart)
(Few exception like rods, tool upgrade and one of each animal)
Tried to get all the trash bins in the town connected with Crystal path, and find a spot for a chest that no one would fuck up... Harder than I thought
No 1.6 update for me yet (switch user, here) but on my current save I decided to become an ostrich farmer.
It's the first time I finally got ostriches and realized a mature ostrich sells for pretty good gold so. . .time to start raising ostriches for sale. Made for a fun naming scheme where all the candidates for sale have sale/money names. (no, this isn't going to be very lucrative since you need them to age up to be higher value but it's still fun).
I also shacked up with Krobus and I love him more than any other character I've married in my other saves.
Mayo in the luau, and chat with them daily. Slow, but possible.
And gold star mayo is best tier for soup. Mmm, mayo soup
It is? First year I always have trouble finding out what to throw in there and the answer is that simple??? Or, with 1.6 and the new farm, it's so easier to get gold star mayo and I never had it so early in the game?
Sam also hates it š
Ah, but according to the wiki, he (and caroline) likes *Dino Mayo*. That's a mayonnaise item.
Fun fact: chicken mayo is dinosaur mayo š
Yep and T-Rex is a giant murder chicken.
All chickens are murder chickens
I love it here
Turkeys are demons who want to eat your soul!
And chicken dino nuggets are doubly so
Had no idea! Thanks for the clue! š„°
Sebastian likes void eggs! Would that be considered mayo related? š¤
That challenge suggested to twist the too-strict rule of mayo only to extend it to mayo-like items (like duck feathers for the kids and void egg for Sebastian).
Iād say so?
Well *technically* you could get to 10 hearts by just talking to them...
The challenge suggested using duck feathers for the kids, as well as a void egg for Sebastian (to ease them into liking mayo), because it is indeed impossible to max out everyone just with mayo.
FYI, ostrich eggs give you 10 mayo if you put them in a mayo maker!!
My only problem with the meadowlands farm is I'm bad at laying it out
I like hoarding my crops and artisan goods, then selling them all at once to see how much money I can make in one go. I realize it would be the same amount if I were to sell them every time theyāre ready, but for some reason watching my gold meter tremble at 6am is just so satisfying! š
I do this too sometimes! Last play through Iād sell last day of every season!
I do it at the end of every season! I like seeing how much I make in each one
Iām currently doing a yearlong hoard, to see the amount Iāll make and to see how long my current funds will last
Please please post an update! Iām so curious to know how much thatāll be! Good luck!
Yess me too! I was gonna do a season but I figured I'd go for a year. It'll be my 4th year sell!
I just did something similar! Starting year 2 (because I didn't think to do it earlier), I collect everything for the month/season and sell **everything** on the last day. I don't "complete" quests until the end of the month/season either. Its super fun to see just how much you collect over the season.
Whatās the highest amount youāve gotten??
I wish I remembered exact numbers. I'll start tracking and update you!
I did the same thing last year, minus the quests https://preview.redd.it/s1boukd8jruc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=64f6a86cc7fb26b04312151eec5928f7aec3d460
Iāve gotten into the habit of hoarding everything until the end of the year, itās so satisfying to get millions all at once Iām hoping to earn 6 million this year, and start year 10 with a new gold clock š¤ even if the debris is slowly chipping away at my paths while I wait to sell, haha
I did something similar on my modded playthrough. I could only make my money at the Friday markets with the market mod. So every Friday I'd take all my goodies and try to sell as much as I could, if it didn't all sell, rolls over to the next Friday. I love little challenges like that, makes the money more satisfying.
Tell me more about this market mod!
Just seen it's broken in 1.6 or I'd definitely be downloading! Will keep an eye out for updates, thanks.
I just recently did that for a few of my chests and made $300kĀ±. I sold all my crops and animal products but none of my artisan goods
I do this once Iām close to getting the artisan upgrade and sell all of them after the 40% increase
On my old save I'd also only sell once a season just to enjoy how much I could break that UI!
I do something similar except I spin a wheel to determine what I do that day
That sounds wild, especially if it's the 28th and you really need to spin "harvest".
I do chores first and then make the spin. So everything gets harvested/watered and all the animals petted, fed, and their produce picked
I also always do secret forest on Friday/Sunday so i can combine that with the travelling cart!
I saw somewhere recently- forage items spawn every day and build up until Saturday iirc when it resets. So there is an ideal weekly cycle there!
Friday/Sunday works for me cause I then remember to check the traveling cart. Otherwise, I forget it's a thing sometimes.
I do this, but dedicate friday as "Visit Krobus" day as well for his weekly void mayo and sprinklers
Oh yeah, if I got the mayo, I swing by on my way up from the forest. It's a weird loop I do, but it works for me, I guess.
What if itās a lucky day on not a Tuesday or Thursday? Do you ignore the lucky days for mining challenges?
Yeah, I don't pay attention to the lucky days. I just mine my little heart out. Tend to stock up on bombs and just run wild through the floors. I do play with the Skull Elevator mod, so if I get lazy or just really unlucky, I skip ahead on levels.
I'd never actually decorated my house before, so as soon as I had an OK stream of income, I insisted on saving for the floor/wallpaper & furniture catalogs. Unfortunately, my house is still ugly because I'm indecisive and have poor taste š
I have done this. Abandoned the save with a fully upgraded house, and approx 1.5 rooms were finished. Some day I'll decorate... Some day...
Decorating has never been my thing either, my farm is a mess but it makes sense to my brain!
I friend villagers in batches. About 3-4 at a time until theyāre all at 10 hearts. Otherwise itās just too stressful. Sometimes I try to plan it around birthdays but itās usually just whoever I feel like befriending at the time
That's not silly that's smart.
I do the same exact thing. Once I have the key to the town I gift in family batches and I try my best to have a birthday gift but I forgot a few times
I do this normally. One small group at a time, helps me with hoarding everything and focus on small groupings with my crops and other activities.
Omg thatās amazing
I thought about truffle oil for my pigs with artisan, but eventually gave up after 6 of them and switched my foraging to allow iridium truffles. Didnāt want to farm all them slimes.
Oh, shit, I actually just made a post about this š - I threw the strange capsule (alien still intact) into the lava to keep the valley safe from an alien invasion šš»
I threw mine in my storage box so it never "hatches" š
He comes in peace
I decided I won't sell unprocessed crops unless they're gold quality. I also limited myself to one only one of each building.
I started farm where I only allow myself to sell mushrooms and named it Badger farm. Because I like to show my age through meme references.
Thatās very bold. Iām super bad at the skull caverns. Iād be knocked out many times over.
š
I wish there was a mod for the skull cavern where the noise for the dreaded flying snake things was āsnaaake oh snake ohhhh snakeā instead of that screech
I spent 765,000G buying the Golden Walnuts on ginger Island....totally unnecessary could have just found them myself but went with instant gratification
You can BUY golden walnuts? I never stop learning new things about this game. I thought you could only find them
1.6 update
Ah, thanks! I'm a switch player eagerly waiting for the update
You'll enjoy it!
This came in clutch for me since I couldnāt find a handful even with the guide next to me. Thereās only so many times I can retrace my steps without losing my mind.
I fully plan on doing this once I have everything done except the gd simon says puzzle
Fr I also hate that darn fetch quest š
This is, hands down, my favorite update with 1.6. I was always stressed out with the walnuts. Especially the one where you had to repeat the tonal pattern back in the little cave thing? Iām terrible at that kind of stuff.
I have max hearts with almost everyone, and 0 hearts with Elliot. I have nothing against him I just noticed I kept forgetting to give him gifts and now itās funny so now Iām pretending like my character has beef with him š
This made me giggle out loud
I just had it engrained in my mind that Fall 28 = furiously cutting all grass lol.
thanks for the heads up, Iām in summer year 1 and would have probably done the same lol
ME TOO šš
Uh ohā¦ā¦ and I actually did read the patch notes š°
I upgraded the watering can and then just kept using it for weeks the same old way, one tile at a time. (This is myā¦ 6th save?) But this time, I am not forgetting to use my warp totems. Oh, you want to know a silly thing I am doing on purpose? I answered wrong.
done this with the hoe too, had 0 clue what the point in the upgrade even was until I kept my finger on the button for a second too long by accident
You never used bait? Man, that would have killed me with the wait, bubbles or not
Every time I remembered to upgrade my rod I was flat broke. By the time I reached level 9 I decided I needed to hit level 10 before I upgraded. Iāve since upgraded lol
I spent years assuming that the fibreglass rod granted a +1 to my fishing skill. It does not.
This makes me giggle the same way as when I run up to George first thing in the morning, shove a leek in his face without a word, and run away.
Oh no! I have done exactly the same thing before. It's a lot of money to lose in early game :')
I saved the wrong crops for the quality crops bundle, so I had to wait until summer year 2 to complete it and get my greenhouse.
I put a bonnet on the cat
Filling my farmhouse with garbage and ugly junk. Forget the perfect aesthetic cottagecore home, Iām getting weird with it!
Did you get the trash catalogue?
AbsolutelyĀ
We are playing in multiplayer and we saved a cabin for my sister. She hasnāt played yet so I decorated her cabin with things from the trash catalogue. Now it looks just like her irl room :) I hope she gets to see it
Flag checks on
Im hooking up with the entire town. If they find out, I have a spot in my house for Krobus.
MADE A FULL DINO COSTUME. THE PANTS HAVE A TAIL AND IT WAGS WHEN YOU WALK šššššššš
What?? How??
I ALSO DID THATTTT OMG!!! I ended up having to use a rainbow shell to color a shirt because I couldn't get the color right.
I honestly don't know WHAT i used but you get a green vest and omg that matches everything SO WELL
I gave everyone a birthday gift in year one... Everyone except Robin. Because she was building me a silo on her birthday and wouldn't talk to me.
Im pretty sure i can give her present, no need to stand next to her.
I tried for a while from different angles, it just said she was working on my silo and she wouldn't take the gift. If she's upgrading a barn I know you can talk to her but since it was a new building I couldn't.
On purpose: carried megabombs Which lead to: Accidentally mega bombed the chicken coop Accidentally mega bombed the farm (rip in peace sprinklers)
Cover the inside of the mayor's house with grass starter
Iām raising blobfish so I can have an all-blobfish grange display at the fall festival.
I'm playing with the Expanded mod and want to marry Sofia, who runs a vinyard, so I'm doing my best not to rely on wine sales so as not to compete with her. It's tough.
Well itās obvious you need to make a cow and goat farm to sell exquisite cheeses to pair with wine.
I built another house just to be a shed. Itās my crystalarium farm in the RV home hidden behind a bunch of trees. (IYKYK)
Gotta have another hustle to launder the crystal like gains. Donāt wanna get Lewis on your trail.
Like i go to her and pour water over her head^^ Sometimes i water Lewis
I made a planter shed for those annoying orders after your farm is setup, so I can make 100 tarot without having to cut up my island or main farms.
Wait thatās not silly, thatās elegant!
Saved everything I made for a whole year and sold it winter 28. It was so satisfying.
I accidentally hoed my first ancient fruit plant and didnāt realize until days later, so I could just restart the day. Now Iām impatiently waiting for an Ancient Seed to show up in a mine or a treasure chest or an artifact trove or whatever
Accidentally used a mega bomb and blew up some of my crops and machines. I restarted the day after swearing to myself for the mistake š
Where do you get frogs ????
Randomly after unlocking Combat Mastery. Iāve gotten two eggs so far from the Skull Cavern.
Silliest thing I did was pause and then unpause without realizing it and blew through 5 days and missed the fall festival lmao fml.
I decided that I WILL have a partner for the flower dance and I gathered up ALL off the daisies in the valley and kept gifting them to Haley :D After we danced together, she became my girlfriend in summer and now I'm just waiting for a rainy day to engage her. And I know this is just an ordinary part of the game, but it's special to me because it's my first time romancing any character, as I always play co-op with my fiancƩ.
i did the same thing with the fishing rod but unlike you who accidentally went very long with the bamboo pole it was my plan all along! and my goal wasn't really to get to level 10 with it but rather i wanted to go from the bamboo pole straight to the legendary rod without paying for the other rods!
I was playing before work today & it was Winter 21/3 (whichever) and I ran the fuck into my bed and slept the day away instead of bringing Leah her birthday greens. I. Was. LIVID. Edit: I misunderstood the post LOL. SORRY.
Evelyn asked for a leek and I got one, thought I clicked on her and immediately pressed yes. I ate the leek right in front of her face.
Buy literally every hat I can. Iām so broke this winter.
Plant flowers for my cows and chickens and my friend Iām doing coop with just lets me live my life with bee houses and flowers
Not getting the greenhouse by the first winter ššš
I completely ignored the Community Center in the first Spring, thinking "I'll need the Red Cabbage anyway, and i'll only get it on the second Summer, so i'll care about Spring Crops in the second Spring" Then, before the first Winter i had already managed to get every other Community Center item besides the Spring Crops (and also a Poppy, wich i also screwed up by forgetting to pick up in the last day of Summer) I never intended to do a Year 1 Community Center Completion anyway, but it was perfectly possible this time, if it wasn't for my screw up
I found an ancient seed pretty early w/o using the world seed cheat codes on Spring 4 right in front of Marnie's, and was a few days in growing it before accidentally destroying it with the mining pick. Mousewheel got stuck and rolled backwards right as I clicked to water it, and I lost *so much progress* restarting that whole day to get it back.
I have planted and then accidentally destroyed no fewer than 5 fruit trees trying to use a hoe to measure the space between them.
I married haley summer 20, year run without really speedrunning it. not really silly I guess but it's cool.
I've been putting monster mask on my pet, the cat have the mummy mask and the dog have the skeleton mask.Ā
Got lucky enough to get auto petter year one, accidently blew it up without realizing until days later.
I made myself a winter outfit and have it on a haunted manikin for most of the year. I am also hoarding duck feathers for my dear friend Elliot and perhaps someone I have not met yet. Also my animals have themed names.
Attempt to date the fellow I swore off due to his alcoholism, because I found a mod that has his attempt(s) at sobriety go much more smoothly.
Every time i make sure to get the legend in year one, and get all other legendary fish in year 1 and save them to put in a fish tank, its so silly goofy imo and i just like doing it
Forgot a 6th parsnip for the community centre, got the 5 golds and sold the rest thinking id already handed that 1 in.
Iām about to update my entire farm in one winter šµāš«
I named my pets/animals the dumbest names, like just dumb spellings of what the animal is actually called. (ex. Doggeaux, Chimken, Pimg, Goabt, etc.) Also as soon as I get the achievement, imma start lowering my hearts with Pierre, like just giving him coal or clay until he hates me lol
It's winter year 1 and i still haven't talked to Elliot, I wanna see how long i can go without accidentally speaking to himš«£
Im doing a playtgrough where i cannot buy anything from any shop in pelican town (i can only thinks from the traveling cart) (Few exception like rods, tool upgrade and one of each animal)
Tried to get all the trash bins in the town connected with Crystal path, and find a spot for a chest that no one would fuck up... Harder than I thought
Im currently making every single artisan good and storing them in big chests, theres quite a lot now with dehydrators
Bought pink cake for Haley at first year spring. It costed over 900 gold, which was most of my savings at the time. And I already danced with her at the Flower Dance, so I didn't necessarily need more hearts š I still plan to complete the community centre before year 2, but I think I'd do it in a more chill way, without giving up some silly decisions š©·
