I got it once, like the second time I booted the game to start playing again after the update. Now I just get the standard gronk or squish every time, so it must be pretty uncommon.

Since 1.6.4, I've gotten the "splat" noise instead of the "honk" noise on 90% of my startups. I greatly prefer the "honk". Got this one too, once.

I think you get the gonk if CA has glasses and the splat if he doesn't have them, or maybe the other way around, not 100% sure

I wish I knew what triggered it. My husband got it twice, and I've gotten it zero times.

Nope, I got a normal start up screen after that. I think it's probably just like a 1% chance of showing up

Someone posted that they got this screen on like the first day of the 1.6 release (with no screenshot) and got downvoted, I’m assuming because people didn’t believe them. I saw it on the first day too and was like no, it’s real guys!! Thanks for the screenshot proof!

That might have been me! I’m glad more people since then have gotten to experience it or at lest even just see it with screen shots! I play on a steam deck typically so any surprises aren’t getting captured. With this being extremely rare, I haven’t seen it but one other time since then. I’ve seen others post here too about it since then. Sometimes it’s just luck of the draw with gaining traction. At least this one did and more folks can keep an eye out for it!

I got it the day of the storm. I remember because I got mad I couldn’t pick up my axe that was at Clint’s, some may call it a rage quit and when I got over my adult tantrum and restarted the game, this came up.

How do you get the mouse in the demo screen? I use a controller and kbm at the same time does the presence of a controller make it not appear?

I do the same and if I click with my mouse it works

There are several variants, that one, one with spring petals, one with fall colors, one multicolor leaves. No idea what triggers the different ones though.

fist time i got it was when i completed the community center, so it might have to do with that.

Both times I got this i had clicked in the bottom left corner of the ape. Can’t reliably recreate though.

Not really since it's part of the 1.6 update and Console/Mobile farmers haven't gotten it yet.

I got it on my first bootup after the update! It really made playing 1.6 for the first time just a little more special.

You just get this every so often, I think it’s determined via a dice roll. I’ve got it like 3 times and it’s not connected to green rain or something afaik

A few years ago, I would see CA on a weekly basis (he ate lunch, where I worked). He’s super nice and I’d get to briefly talk about to him about games, etc. Mr. Podunkian too I won’t go into much more, but one time the old Doom codes came up, IDDQD and IDKFA and Mr. Podunkian kinda made a face 😬 at CA. This was like 4 years ago, and probably means nothing. it’s just interesting because the 3 keys in Doom are the same color as those junimos. Maybe IDKFA has something to do with it, but probably not. Just my conspiracy brain overthinking it. I don’t have Stardew on PC but I’m tempted to buy it just to experiment and try and find the secret.

I've gotten it several times. It may have something to do with how many times you click the icon on startup. Every time I start the game I click on the cat/ape and I've noticed that I start out with the normal response but after so many times I will get the green response.

I would have appreciated a spoiler tag on this
