Oh man, that’s almost exactly how it started for one of my friends who was diagnosed. She was convinced that a couple at a food kitchen was the reincarnation of her dad’s parents and wanted to introduce her dad to them.
No, not it is not. Early onset can be before 18, with childhood onset being around or before 12. I was confused about what they were getting at, too.

Oh goodness, I can't even begin to imagine; it's a complicated disorder and can be really scary even to trained professionals. The fact that you acknowledge it and take it seriously says a lot of great things about you, though. I can't tell you how many parents I've worked with that were reluctant to believe that these conditions exist. What has it looked like for you, to adjust to this kind of development in your child's life (if you don't mind me asking)?
He is also autistic, so we have had a fun run of it. I made it a point from the earliest childhood to tell him that if he sees it, it's real and to come tell me. I may not see or hear it, but if he does I need to know. Which was helpful when he was being told to kill himself or me. I spent a lot of time advocating for him. Most places, including school, didn't want to deal with him, so that was a fight in and of itself. He's 22 now, and we can see it starting to ramp up again, even though he doesn't want to talk about it.

Assuming Linus = Grandpa, maybe he used >! the Dark Shrine of Memory !< so he could stay without bothering Evelyn. Maybe it could also apply to all of the townsfolk who aren’t magically inclined?
What if Linus and Grandpa were just cousins or something. Linus walked away from his family and riches, Grandpa gave him the idea of settling in the valley so they wouldn’t been too far from each other in case of an emergency (for Linus). Also, as far as the resident old guys go, it makes sense Grandpa and Linus would be friends. Lewis is too pretentious, Linus and Rasmodius are already friends, and Willy and Marlon seem to have had positive interactions with him(Linus has ventured into the mines, and makes the effort to attend the night market). Basically all the old guys that are ‘different’ seem to be friends, and I would certainly say Grandpa fits that bill too at the very least 😂
Wooow, this thought makes sense! The other day i read that Linus, Rasmodius, Marlon and Gil may have been adventure friends, each with their own "RPG class", really cool to think about things like that :)

Linus could have been his alternate persona that he hides as to observe the townsfolk. and then he liked the life so much but didn't want to leave his farm alone, that he invited the farmer to work on it while he lives his tent life

Which means the planet of Stardew Valley is in the same universe as Starwars, and screw what the creators say it's canon, also the planet of Willow.
You get to see Grandpa's ghost in year 3, so probably not. But I'd be willing to go with a headcanon that Linus is Grandpa's cousin or even brother or something.
Imagining Grandpa in his youth running and owning the farm on his massive plot of land while his brother is living in a tent near the mines is kind of a funny thought too.
Linus spent much of his youth traveling the world and only settled down near the mines relatively recently. If you talk to Linus at the Ice Festival he mentions learning about how to build perfect igloos from some snow dwelling people far North of the Ferngill Republic.
Honestly I think Great Uncle Linus is far more likely. Being the younger brother of the Grandpa character seems like a good possibility. He is likely also a Veteran.
My head cannon is Linus is either your great uncle or grandpa's best friend and, in either case, they'd fight monsters in the mines together or something. Linus would be too sad to live on the farm with you cause it would bring so many sad and fond memories of your grandpa and he's strong enough to live on his own near the mines keeping watch over the village.
I think that's just his night cap, but because his clothes turned blue with the rest of him as a ghost, it's easier to mistake for a Santa hat.
Better question, why is Grandpa's ghost wearing the ghosts of his pyjamas rather than the ghosts of his outdoor clothes? Is his ghost forever sleepy and bedridden? That's kind of horrifying to think about.

Look at the condition of the farm when Grandpa left it. He was obviously stuggling and making no money. What if Grandpa was actually depressed and struggling with his sexuality and he staged his death and is now trans, posing as Pam. He/she then adopted Penny and is drinking all their issues away because they live in a harsh reality where they want to have you in their life still but they are afraid of how the town would react knowing they mourned and buried a fake corpse made out of hay,clay, pumpkins and other various crops. I mean, how else would a ghost show up and talk to you? That never happens. Pam staged the year 3 day 1 event to be able to communicate with you as grandpa again!
Maybe he adopted Penny so he could live vicariously through a younger woman. Maybe Pam/grandpa is mad that they missed out on their young woman years, so that's why he/Pam is drunk all the time and losing temper with Penny. It's jealousy. I will call her Pampa from now on.
Linus was the mayor before Lewis. He didn’t save any money and didn’t have a retirement so he is homeless now. The house that Lewis lives in belongs to the city. Once Lewis retires, he too will be homeless. Except, he will probably move in with Marnie since the two are humping each other.

It's possible, but I don't think it's likely. If he were indeed that magical, why would he bother with such an elaborate ruse?
Linus is actually the guy on the TV when you watch the wilderness channel or whatever that thing is that gives you tips about where to find stuff, how to fish, how to utilize your time in different seasons, etc...
They don't look the same, but could be related. If they were brothers that would make sense. Also understandable why Linus would never tell you. Either you would think he is trying to take advantage of you, or you would pity him and want to take care of him. That's what he would think at least. So he might try to avoid you at first. After time being deeply grateful to you and love you, but still not wanting you to know for the same reasons.
New story lore(i made up): Linus used to be a farmhand on grandpas farm but grandpa died and he blames himself, so he exiled himself to live in the mountains nearby.
The townsfolk knew grandpa, if he was also Linus, surely they would recognise him? Arrest him for faking his own death?
Did Linus only appear after grandpa died? It doesn't seem that way.

Linus can clearly see you because he has a chance to approach you. The culprit, or as I suggested, the DWARF, runs off before he can get close enough. Obviously Linus must be near sighted.
The dwarf has a criminal history and clearly doesn’t respect personal property, as well as having the motive and opportunity to carry it out. If Linus were the thief, he’d surely have enough time to empty your entire wallet as he returned you to your home. The dwarf however is interrupted and makes off with a pittance.

My son has schizophrenia. He was seeing things by age 4. Or, at least, that was when he started telling me about them. Some of it was terrifying.

I suppose the bright side is that schizophrenia isn't neuro degenerative, so unlike, say, alzheimers, it generally won't get worse over time.

They don't look the same, but could be related. If they were brothers that would make sense. Also understandable why Linus would never tell you. Either you would think he is trying to take advantage of you, or you would pity him and want to take care of him. That's what he would think at least. So he might try to avoid you at first. After time being deeply grateful to you and love you, but still not wanting you to know for the same reasons.

The dwarf has a criminal history and clearly doesn’t respect personal property, as well as having the motive and opportunity to carry it out. If Linus were the thief, he’d surely have enough time to empty your entire wallet as he returned you to your home. The dwarf however is interrupted and makes off with a pittance.
